Really great spot! Great produce, unique food items. The vitamin and supplement section is awesome and the prices are fair. I shop here as often as possible to avoided the crowds at grocery store. Staff knows the products well especially the crazy beer selection. Really great people :)

Amazing organic selection with plenty of niche foods and products not found in larger markets. Great vegan options, fresh pressed OJ, make your own almond butter, etc. Very clean and healthy atmosphere.

Pretty good health food store. Ive shopped here for quite a few years. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable and if they dont have it they will tell you where to get it. Ive purchased a few items that I use, like coconut oil and eye dropper bottles. They also have a decent parking lot. However its a little hard to find, the street Dunlap is right before the light at the Y.

I shop here weekly--rarely do they not have something that I want or need. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, the store is clean and neat, the produce is fresh, beautiful and 100% organic. Rarely have I waited in line to check-out for more than 60 seconds. Im so happy to have this store less than 10 min from my house!

A lot of variety in a fairly small space. Some fresh fruit and vegetables and a very good selection of bulk foods, coffees, and other popular items. One stop shopping with an organic emphasis.

Located just off Lake Tahoe Boulevard, this was one of only a few Alpen Sierra coffee bean retailers that we could find on our vacation at South shore. It was very rewarding to find a full array of coffees including the decaffeinated and a well functioning grinder. This compact establishment was well organized with friendly helpful staff. P.S. Among the baked goods we also discovered Truckee Sourdough bakery products, another local favorite.

I was shopping at grass roots the other day and the employee with the dreads was rude to me and said I need to get my baby a mask. She should mind her own business. Babies are not even supposed to wear mask. I will not be shopping at grass roots anymore because of the rude employee with the dreads I will take my money to Whole Foods.

This place has lots of verity for such a small space, and is great for random odds and ends you cannot find in the other big box stores. Don’t count on saving too much money here not bargain hunting, but rather a quality product or niche items. I usually only can afford to go there like once a month for a specific ingredient.

SO DISAPPOINTING. Ill try to keep it short, but I would highly recommend staying away from this place weather you are a local or in town visiting!Came to this store to grab some things when I was visiting one weekend for a wedding, it was pretty pricey compared to my everyday average health food store(s),I had no one greet me, no one help me and never once even had a staff member interact with me except when it was time to check out and even then the cashier only said two words to me,I wouldnt really recommend coming here unless you were in actual desperate need of over priced supplements, organic produce selection, and have none of the staff even say a word to you while you wanted to be shocked over how over priced everything in this store is.(I have spent years and years in working in a health food store(s) so I know the first thing about customer service and pricing when it comes to supplements, organic produce and all around the whole store, they seriously need to kick it up 20 notches on customer service and lower their prices)

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have a lot of gluten-free and organic options. Definitely not the cheapest, but the service and variety of unique things make up for it. Also they have gluten for beer.

Frequent visitor of SLT and Grass Roots is the only place I shop there. Freshest produce, best selection of organic, can get all my staples in bulk, and enjoy the excellent selection of quality and healthful foods. Love the size and always friendly staff. Such a pleasure to shop here.

Grass Roots has a large collection of organic and naturally-derived products for really reasonable prices! Their organic spices are sold in bulk and are far cheaper than you can find regular spices in any grocery store or even Walmart. They have a great selection of natural cleaning products, bulk organic grains/seeds/nuts, and all of their produce is organically-grown. Theyll also order cases of produce for you at a discounted cost if you cook in bulk like I do. I love this store!

Very nice small organic grocery store.Very good and inexpensive fruit and vegetable selection and a vast selection of bulks. The staff is always very helpful and help you to find anything that you are looking for, they also offer to order for you anything that they wouldnt have in store. I usually buy all my fruits, vegetables, bulk grains, teas and spices there.

I have been to a lot of small business natural grocery stores and Grassroots is by far the best! The environment is exceptional and the plethora of organic food is amazing. Id recommend anyone to shop there. Well done Grassroots!

Im from Socal and this place was just like Cream of the Crop in Oceanside but with even more vitamins & supplements. Actually, just more, which is a good thing. The staff was extremely helpful and personable. The prices arent cheap but its worth it to have a one-stop shop for all your organic needs. My husband said they had the best beer selection and the wine I was looking for which is pretty rare in regular stores happened to be the as well.Parking lot is small so check Google for peak times, otherwise you can park in the TJMaxx lot just across the way.

Started shopping there for vitamins and a sandwich about 40 years ago. Fantastic to have so many more healthy choices and products these days. We miss Mike and his famous no wonder bread but appreciate all the existing staff members and their helpful service.

They have everything imaginable here! Fresh food, frozen food, produce, household items, baking necessities, personal hygiene products and lots more. Everything is decently priced and the staff is very knowledgeable!

Best health food store in South Lake Tahoe; their new location is much newer and nicer than the old one and they have a huge selection of organic food and supplements. If you need vegan or organic supplies this is the place to get them in South tahoe.
