Great spot to pick up souvenirs, tees, hoodies and all sorts of tourist goodies. I do not have pictures, just bills for $60 π€ͺ
Glenda was extremely rude. She has no customer service! We came in to pick up our rentals for tomorrow but we had out early check in time for today. She kept on referring to some fine print which she stated βthereβs a fine print you canβt pick it up before 24 hours. It actually says there but no one reads itβ I asked her nicely if she can show me where it says that. She responded by saying βI donβt know thatβs all my manager told me to say. You can come talk to the manager tomorrowβYou can tell she definitely didnβt want to be bothered at all. She wasnβt doing anything anyways. Just sitting and separating clothes. Learn how to talk to customers. Better yet when you say something be capable of showing where it says that before you βquoteβ a company policy. Disrespectful, glenda. Go home please so you donβt lose anymore money for your company. District supervisor should definitely take an action. I will be reporting this behavior to BBB.
Husband bought a pair of gloves for $87. Upon getting to the car we noticed one of the gloves was ripped. Went back into the store and they would not offer a refund since the glove damage couldnβt be proved to be prior. We are talking no time passed, with receipt in hand and all tags. They didnβt have a pair they could swap out so had to get something separate that wasnβt what he wanted. Despicable place. DO NOT SHOP HERE.
Went in there for bindings, left 15 mins later with brand new well priced bindings. Also brand new year so theyll be good for 10 yrs before expiration. Was really pleased with the price. Everywhere else cost more. The staff was friendly.
Season lease is wonderful because you can swap skis/poles/boots whenever you want throughout the season. You literally have dozens of skis at your disposal.
Found great stuff for my family and excellent prices.
I was thoroughly impressed with Mikey/Cody. He, Jose, and the guys fitting my family of four did a great job and were not jerks like in some of the other ski shops. They were very busy but he took the time to ensure customer satisfaction. Highly recommend booking through their website.
We were one of two couples there. We waited for fifteen minutes before being helped, and the girl that did help my husband must have been new and almost started crying trying to set his bindings. She asked for help and didnt get it. She finally finished the skis, but we got to the mountain and the bindings were so off it was comical. We took them to the maintenance shop at the mountain to get it fixed and hadnt even opened our mouths and the employee said Let me guess, Powder House?. I would be embarrassed to have that bad of a reputation for just setting bindings. They gave us half off the rentals when we returned, but it took us over two hours to get the skis and then fix them. They should have just reimbursed us. I think they only have a decent rating because of the location. There are plenty of better equipment rentals on the area.
Good equipment, very bad customer service. Was with my kids, had a very disrispectful interaction, hope they change soon or they will bust.
First of all I had a horrible experience.. customer service in this place is horrible ! I felt discriminated by customer service the blonde girl in the front said she is a manager was very rude and not respectful at all ! She mention she is the manager but did not act like one . The Customer is always right . I just wanted my refund on a zodiac machine that was not working . She mention to please leave the building or else she was going to call the cops .
Went in for a new pair of ski boots. Chris was super helpful fitting myself and my mom. High end boot ended up being cheaper than any online store.
Great choices a little pricey but still good stuff. It would be better if they had actual brands for skate & snowboarding.
Such a horrible experience. Rented 2 pair of snowshoes, after 2 minutes of using mine, one kept coming off. One was working fine, the other pair was also working. One was clearly defective. The robotic manager refused to accept any responsibility for this, and blamed it on user error. I even demonstrated what happened in the store, and showed how it kept slipping off. He said you can keep arguing all you want but Iβm charging you full price.Overall customer service was just such garbage. Read the other reviews β my experience isnβt an anomaly.Iβve spent $1000βs on snowboard equipment at home, never with a problem. these guys suck. There is a million places to buy and rent stuff in town. Donβt go here.
The staff at Powder House was great. Matt at Aston Lakeland village was a great person to work with!As for the rental, I have no good words for it. I have been snowboarding for 15 years. I have quality equipment, and where I am not a professional, I know what is good and what is not. Being that the ski rental place was serving South Lake Tahoe and all the surrounding ski mountains, I figures I would rent. I am from Wisconsin and it would have been extremely expensive to bring my board there.Snowboards: K2 boards, good quality - no complaint.Boots: Worst I have ever worn! Even worse than my $50 boots I got when I was 15. The were very uncomfortable. My ankles were in pain the entire time snowboarding. They are still bruised. We both had to switch to a different boot, which helped a little, but still it was painful. The boots broke on the mountain, which cost us 1.5 hours to go back down the mountain to the shop and get new ones. When you are paying 110 bucks a day for skiing for 6 hours, that is a lot of time.Bindings: Thankfully they were not snap ins. But the mechanism that secures the bindings to the board never were tight. This meant that the bindings would move when you are riding. Not fun.For an establishment to be in a mountain town surrounded by 4+ large resorts and have cheap stuff- not a good business practice in my mind.
Very poorly managed shop, with a no refund policy on ANYTHING. Most of the gear they carry is 5+ year old rental gear they are too cheap to replace. Employees are clueless and poorly trained. If you want good skis for a cheaper price go to Black Tie up the street! This place is to concerned with the money.
We rented 6 pairs of skis here. Their overnight valet fills up and you canβt leave skis there. In the morning an employee told me I could leave my ski bag on top of a locker. By night they impounded it and made me pay $10 to get it back. Very unfriendly. Terrible experience. Donβt go here
I rented my equipment here because we received a discount from the place we were staying. The staff really didnt seem to give a crap. They werent rude (though perhaps slightly condescending), they just seemed bored and uninterested in the customer. I should have taken this as a sign and gone to a better rated shop.Instead I ended up renting what was called The Sport Package. The skis were functional but beat-up and the boots, while better looking, were very low-end. The next day I went back and traded up to The Performance Package (I was invested at this point because the fourth day of rentals was free). The boots were much better and the skis were fine.Overall I felt like it was almost a bait-and-switch scam. Just call the skis what they really are, dont give pieces of trash fancy names. More importantly there are plenty of competent people out there whod be happy to have a job like this. Hire them instead.
None of the staff members were welcoming. Especially, Pedro, who helped us for ski rentals, super super slow. He had us wait there for one and a half hours. He didnt look like he was happy to be working there. He wasted our time. We went there because we didnt know heavenly had their own ski rentals. We had to walk all the way from there. A big mistake.
Purchased my ski boots here, the staff were amazing. I have been back twice and each time the staff met and exceeded my expectations! I also rented demo skis,. Once again the staff were incredibly helpful. You can change the demo skis out as many times as you desire, plus, if you purchase your skis from there they will deduct your rental payment from the price of the skis!
Nice staff, we were buying a facemask for my son and the guy checking us out gave us a free one that someone had returned. Overall though the selection was extremely limited for mid-February. Prices were expensive as youd expect from Heavenly Village.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. You can die if renting equipment from this guys at the Hard Rock Hotel Lake Tahoe location. I rented out gear for my wife and myyself on March 30th 2018 and trusted everything was fine as most professional places would. We gave them our card, signed βthe contractβ and left to Heavenly. We took a second look at the equipment when we were on top of the mountain. Too late. Poorly kept, weak assembling, you name it. We were furious. Came down, rented out extra equipment from Heavenly Sports confident they (powder house) would refund our money. Not the case. The told us we signed the contract and they would charge us regardless. On top of that, the βso calledβ discount from the Hotel would not apply. We lost some money but thatβs not even the issue. If you use their stuff you can hurt yourself or worse. STAY AWAY. Go to Heavenly Sports or a trusted professional place.
Poor Customer Service. My daughter spent $240 and purchased a new helmet and goggles. She tried them on in the store and it felt great. After 4 hours on the mountain, her expensive goggles were very uncomfortable and fogged up. We went back to the store to ask for an exchange. They were RUDE and said NO, just call the manufacturer, we wont help you. Not Cool.
Nice selection of equipment and clothing but since it was mid-summer, I didnt give them a thorough checkout. I saw enough to definitely go back when ski season approaches.
Awful quality equipment. Ive rented demo packages from Breckenridge, to Vail, to Keystone to Mammoth, and Ive never had the quality of equipment or customer service be this low. Travis the manager was disrespectful, and the employee who gave me the rental at the beginning didnt even ride. The range of board brands they have was minimal to say the least (2 boards to chose from when I was there). The board was minimally waxed. If youre a beginner and getting beginner gear it may be a good place, if you know what youre doing avoid it
Good customer service, but would be nice to find bigger sizes for big and tall too.
Nice staff, but pricing is about 50% higher than Gondola. - for what reason? β its because theyve cornered the market - literally : they are on every corner at Heavenly.
Nice guys....bad service. Plenty of cool dudes willing to wait on you. I wear a size 11 shoe, but they were convinced I needed smaller boots. Day one I got boots too tight, then took them back (yep thats an hour of skiing time wasted) and got another new set. Day two, our group went to a different resort, so I could not exchange the boots-even though I really needed to. Skiied all day in lots of pain-thinking my feet had swollen. At the end of the day, I went back to exchange. Finally, one guy discovers they had put my size 11 feet into size 9.5 which were mis-marked. Really!!! And, the best part, no apology, no offer of sympathy, just a quirky remark of musta sucked to be you today. Hmmmm-not going back there!!
Expert boot fitters, Mark fixed my issue on RS 130 in 10 minutes, perfect!
Lots of ski gear, reasonable rates. I heard a great place to tune up your ski gear.
The worst. Skip it.Rentals: miserable selection. Demo boards were old school beat up models.Service: Slowest we had ever seen. Literally took 3.5 hours start to finish to rent a pair of skis.Staff: Lacked the knowledge in equipment youd hope for in renting. Also, not the friendliest.Find anywhere else. Youll be better off.
Outstanding staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, they couldnt do enough for us. We are experienced skiers and demod several pair before buying. We have shopped many ski stores in the past, but these guys are tops!
Very poor customer service, was given broken material, store manager couldnt care less. Never again! Dont go there, better chose another local rental store.
Broken and defective equipment, really bad experience. For your own safety avoid this place at all costs!
Robert Spees is the best! He always makes sure Im taken care of and he knows what hes doing when it comes to my skis. I had them fully tuned here and will definitely be coming back every ski season.
This place is terrible. They rent 15 yr old snowboards as premium, the gear is unsafely worn out, and best of all my wifes boots had a hole in it. We went back to the shop and talked to the manager and all he had to say was ok. He continued to be a total jerk and smirked at us the whole time we tried to resolve it. We ended up walking out. To say I will never go here again is an understatement.
Horrible experience and terrible skis. I ordered online for the discount and they ended up not giving me the skis I asked for but up selling me two packages without telling me. I then asked for them to honor my online reservation price and they said there is nothing they could do because their manager was out. Worst customer service especially when the company is at fault. The skis I received were also setup completely wrong and my girlfriend paid the price by wrecking her knee because her ski didnt pop off., even though we asked for a low setting since she is a beginner. I was also very uncomfortable with my setup with the so called performance skis I didnt ask for, and I have been skiing for years. Please go elsewhere since this place does not care for your safety or about honoring contracts.
This place is TERRIBLE! Quality of ski equipment is horrible, service is extremely slow and its expensive for what it is. If you are in Lake Tahoe, DONT GO HERE! Also, personal has the worst attitude, they told us our skis were βscratchedβ and wether they charged us extra or not depended on βour attitudeβ. So unprofessional.
Great re talks very accomodating
We were wondering around South Lake Tahoe and just popped in to see what ski house look like. You can buy or rent ski equipment here to head up to Heavenly.
Bait and switch pricing, horrible cheap and damaged equipment. Just rent on the hill. What was supposed to be a $30 rental became almost 50. Skis I rent for $18 back home are 57+ taxes and fees here This rental shop has been the only bad experience Ive had in Tahoe. Theyre really the worst.
This is by far the best place I have used in the west skiing areas - CA, UT, NV. Had the newest equipement and the staff was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. These guys are the BEST.
Great place. Its been awhile but I recall good friendly service.
I dont do Facebook so I asked if I could post on my wifes FB. I happen to be a submarine veteran. I was about to enter the store at about 7:20pm when I saw Jessica taking down flags and banners from the front roof overhang. I mentioned to her as she threw them all down on the ground that the center American flag should get some respect instead throwing them in a heap on the ground.Guess what she did in spite right in front of me? Yep, on the ground the colors hit. I was so pissed!Ill NEVER shop there again! I encourage you to boycott this shop also.Ed Greany, STS2(SS)Cold War vet.
They dont sell snowboards, you would think with a name like powder house they would sell snowboards.
Typical store. Nothing stood out as a must see. Friendly staff!
Cool place has alot of snow gear here
Great variety of products. High end!
I was confused mostly do to me not having any experience but other than that it all worked out
Old equipment. Horrible quality. Even the demo level is old and cheap. They gave me the wrong size too. Worst part: Its not even cheap.
So Ive rented a lot of ski equipment in my day. I have two different sized feet (about 3 size difference.) due to a physical disability. They shop was unwilling to provide me with two sized boots as it was reportedly a liability. I have never had this happen before & it was quite embarrassing and frustrating.
It might help if the staff at the very least greet the customers. Just saying!
Awesome place, people and prices
Went in to get some work done on my ski boots on a Monday evening and the boot fitter marked the boots but said they wouldnt be able to actually do the work that night, but to come in again on Thursday. I come in on Thursday and the staff say they are too busy and wont be able to even start it until after the holidays. Staff were very rude as well. Will be going somewhere else.
If you have 2 hours to kill before hitting the slopes, rent here. Painfully slow service during non peak hours. I thought it was a one off experience until my friends went the next day. Just be prepared for subpar customer service.
Loved this place.
Nice people, good service, bad equipment. Didnt even have the right mounting screws
Great place and employees very helpful
The staff was difficult to deal with. I checked my skis across the US for $60. All that was needed were boots. However, for some reason the staff would not fit the rental boots to my skis and claimed I had to get both. TerribleCustomer service.
Friendly staff good rates
Great place
It was a great place to ski in winter
Under-staffed for a busy Saturday. The demo skis were in short supply, dated and not well maintained.
Great BBQ @ Aces
Good ski gear rentals
Demos are outdated and the staff does not seem to care.
Was legit. Took the time to fit us right. Shop Online for 25% off.
Staff was helpful in purchasing goggles
Extremely great
Nice people
Lines are 2 hours long
Very helpful, great skis
Lots of stuff !!!
Friendly staff.
We recommend. When renting foreigners practical: You fill out a form in his native language and in the usual units on the computer, for the lender, everything is translated and converted. Very nice staff, good equipment, great service. Should we be in the area again we only borrow there.
Very pretty village.
Good for ski enthusiasts ...
