Got a John Deere Riding Lawn mower from this location. Jerry was simply amazing. He made the whole experience easy and thorough. He delivered my mower and showed me how to use all the features. I was seriously impressed. He didn’t miss a beat on my requests. He was seriously amazing. My experience with Jerry makes me excited for the possibility of buying more items from this location. I will never go to another place even if I move out of state. They go out of their way to build a sincere relationship with their customers which means a lot to me. Buy from Hutson’s (Formerly Bader & Sons) You won’t regret it!

I changed my review to 3 from 1 as it appears there was an e-mail sent through a quote system that went to spam. It is unfortunate. Approximately a week after my visit I did purchase from a competitor. Same size tractor $3k less, better financing, another storied brand. Original message-----I went to your location in person and looked at tractor. Never called back with quote. I live very close by and was willing to pay slightly more for local and green. But initial quote very high and never got a call back with full quote on all equipment interested in purchasing.

Not impressed. High prices and never have anything I need in stock. Ive had to order parts with them only to find out that my local hardware store stocks the same parts for almost half the price. They remind me of an over priced car dealership, but they have some really cool (and expensive) Johndeere toys for the kids.

I rarely write google reviews but the wonderful way Bader & Sons has taken care of me has left me with gratitude that I just have to share with the world. The service staff are second to none and they actually care about their customers. I will spare the details but these guys are all top notch and have an excellent customer service record with me and I use them exclusively because of this. We walked around the tractor yard to see the types they had available. The sales person was non-pressure, friendly and very helpful. We were looking for a solid used tractor but they didnt have any of the model we wanted. He offered to run new quotes even tho we were sure we wouldnt be interested. Even knowing that he took the time and ran the quotes and answered questions. Prices were good for new tractor and had some discounts applied. While we didnt buy one that day we will be back for parts, service, etc in the future.

Fruit.Fruit? I guess Google spell checked something... I dont remember what I said, but it wasnt fruit!So, starting over, brought my zero turn mower in for service. Got it back in time to keep my wife happy, in fact a day early. And more importantly, it works! Sure, thats what you expect, but its still nice. Prices are reasonable... Not cheap, but reasonable. Parts are also what I would expect, sometimes even better.

Jerry Was great to work with. I appreciated his personal service and attention to detail in helping me find the exact riding mower to fit my yard. He gave me two different options that might fit the application, answered all my questions and showed me how to operate all the new features on the machine while I was up there paying the invoice. He even personally delivered my new mower free of charge. Thanks!

Had a great experience with Bader & Sons. Purchased a John Deere S240 Riding Mower and the salesman Mark went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable using the product.The entire staff is very knowledgable and answered all of my questions. They often went the extra mile by showing me a live example of how to do things (change oil filter, where to grease fittings, etc).I look forward to doing business again with them.

The only place well go to for All of our power equipment and mowers service and purchasing! They treat you like a Neighbor Everytime you go in or call. We drive from the county over to come to Bader & Sons! Almost done with lawn season and theyll get our Plows, salters, and snow throwers ready for Snow!

This is the John Deere dealer on Pontiac Trail. The Bader and Sons sign is pretty small, but you cant miss all the green and yellow. Anyway, I bought a riding mower from them and they were extremely helpful. Talked me through all the different product lines, pros and cons of each, and let me test drive a couple of them. No high-pressure salesmanship or upselling, just answered all my questions thoughtfully. They even gave me a tutorial on usage and maintenance when they delivered it. I would highly recommend them if youre looking at any John Deere products.

I aqquired a John Deere Lawn tractor from my son in law back in April of 2014. I had him take it over to the South Lyon Bader and Son facility. He stated there is a loose wire hanging too close to the mower deck and the machine is difficult to start. His father in law would be calling to follow up. Without seeing the machine, I then called and talked with their service department and asked if they would go through the entire unit and let me know what needs to be done to bring the unit up to where it needs to be. I also asked what the value of the machine was and that I did not want to spend more than what the machine was worth. The service tech agreed and charged my credit card $100.00 to go through the machine. The cost would be applied to the overall cost of repairs, if need be. After not hearing from them in over two weeks, I called to follow up. They hadnt even started to look at the machine. The tech suggested I give them a go ahead on the repair of machine with a cost not to exceed $ 350.00 because money would take care of a tune up and sharpen blades. My comment was no. I needed to know what was wrong with the machine before I put any money into it and I did not want to exceed the value of the machine. He agreed and called me about a day later and stated the value of the machine is about $ 600.00 and the repair would be $350.00 to repair the wire, drain and replace gas,sharpen blades, replace spark plug, drain and replace oil, with kit and replace gas cap.I commented the price seemed a little steep but I had no choice and to go ahead with the repair. I dropped into the facility a week later to see where they were with the machine. They claimed it was finished and they would check me out in a couple of minutes. I stated their invoice was very confusing and I couldnt understand it. The clerk had to go into the back room to get clarification himself. I paid the amount and went home. After getting home and reading the receipt closer I noticed a comment that was never told to me and that was that the an entire clutch had to be replaced. I called the store again and asked why I was not told of this sooner. I paid $100.00 to go through the unit and tell me what was wrong and they didnt do that. They never told me of the extra $350.00 for clutch replacement. Now my total cost will be$ 700.00 and more than the value of the machine. I would never have given the go ahead had I known what it would cost. The service tech then told me that he didnt expect to clutch to go until sometime in the next year and if it did, he would work with me on it. Well, I cut the lawn two more times only to have the clutch go out. I called their store and had to have it repaired again.they picked up the machine at no cost but i was faced with a final bill of $ 450.00. As the same season rolled on so did my cost. I had to purchase a new battery as the old one was no longer able to get the machine to start easily. I had to replace another air filter as the machine still struggles to start easily. The blades were never sharpened or replaced.In summery, I paid $100.00 for Bader and Sons to make a complete inspection and give me an accurate cost estimate, which they did not do. They led me into repairs costing close to $900.00 for a machine that was only worth $600.00, all knowing that I could not go above the $ 600.00. I wonder if this was intentional???

My experience with Bader & Sons was simply fantastic. I visited their South Lyon store and had the pleasure to work with Erich Petzold in sales. He is by far the best sales person I have ever had the pleasure to work with. He is courteous, extremely knowledgeable and answers all questions, even the dumb ones I am sure that I asked. I stopped at several dealers that sold John Deere products (much closer to my home) before driving out to South Lyon. Taking that 45 minute drive was the best decision I ever made. Not only did I make a John Deere purchase, I came back again specifically because of Erich to purchase a couple of Stihl products, too. Never once did Erich try to push me into a more expensive product. He wanted to know how I planned to use the product and then he made suggestions based on my answers. Then he took the time to show me how to operate each product. The other dealers I visited – prior to making my way to Bader & Sons – were just the opposite. The tagline that Bader & Sons uses in their ads “Outstanding in our field” is spot on! It isn’t just a slogan. They have a great group of people that work there and I would highly recommend to anyone searching for John Deere or Stihl products to put Bader & Sons at the top of your list.
