I have been working with Greg at Excel for over 15 years. He has always been very fair and helpful, as I have embarked on a number of my own home improvement projects. The quality and affordability of the products that they offer has never been beat. I would go to them for any project, big or small, because they have always treated me and my efforts with complete support and care. From design assistance to final product, they are the best!!

If you want to be ripped off, this is a great company to use. I was charged three times for cabinets. THREE, they will claim this was accidental. Before leaving their store we expressed concerns that we had been charged too many times. We were assured we were not - next day we had three charges. I absolutely believe this to be intentional.

Good from afar, but far from good.I wish I had read the other reviews before dealing with Excel. It’s getting close to a year and the more I look at my kitchen the more defects I see. I acknowledge that a lot of the cabinet issues appear to come from the BJ Tidwell factory, however, Excel is who I paid and they need to be held accountable. Overall, the people I dealt with were very impersonal. At no point has anyone called to ask if I am happy. I had to call them weeks later to see what was required to have someone come out and take a look at all of the defects. The only guys I rate at Excel were Nick and Shaun who were the guys that helped repair what they could.CabinetsI asked for minimal gaps between doors/draws and even showed the designer what I was looking for when I visited the showroom. I wanted to show photos of what I wanted but was told it wasnt necessary and that they understood what I wanted. Needless to say I didn’t get this at all. Some doors on the same cabinet are spaced close, however there are large gaps between doors on neighboring cabinets and on cabinets that have a door/draw combination.A draw arrived damaged. This had red tape already marking it as damaged out of the box but the installer made no note to replace it. The installer seemed more interested in taking personal phone calls than interacting with me. I had to have a special person come out to see it and order it many, many weeks after. The paint finish varies from cabinet to cabinet. Some are painted well while others are thin, rough, have run marks, have chips or debris that has been painted over. Most cabinets and other wood paneling arrived with chips, scratches, dents, with residue and (shiny) rub marks. The ends on many doors are bruised and no longer come to a defined point.I had most of the door panels replaced but the replacements came with just as many, if not more issues. With all of the replacement doors I now have marks where the hinge has been removed and reinstalled in different positions. The service guys have been out about 4 times and tried touching up with spray paint and their wax pen. It looks ridiculous. Some cabinets doors are crooked and are not square with the cabinet or sit flush when closed. The service guys have tried to do the best they can but nothing is square or flush.Where shelves have been cut to size, the laminate finish along the cut is very rough and chipped.Where nails have been used, the nail hole has been messily filled with putty, or not at all.Counter TopsCounter top arrived with a chip repair that was damaged. They fixed this however post installation noticed another that was not been repaired. The sink cut-out is not square at the ends. It looks like it was done freehand. There are also areas that are still rough. There was one area they tried to sand out on the day but now it stands out more.Caulking under the counter top is messy - It was seriously below average caulking.Overall, structurally the kitchen seems fine (it survived an earthquake), however aesthetically it stinks.

We were remodeling and referred to Greg at Excel Cabinets from my sister. We love her kitchen and so does she. We came with a drawing from another shop so had some ideas already in mind. Greg helped us refine our plan to get exactly what we wanted. We have a smaller kitchen and he was able to maximize our limited space. He worked with us on several revisions. He was never too busy to help us even when we stopped in unannounced. He was kind, patient and had a great sense of humor throughout the whole process. We loved his ideas and I really dont think we could have done it without his expertise. The Excel employees arrived on time for installation and were also very friendly and accommodating. I would honestly give more stars if I could. Would highly recommend them to anyone and I already have.

I have done business with Excel for a while now for my cabinet/countertop needs. They are helpful, friendly, responsive and most of all HONEST and will MAKE THINGS RIGHT! I give them 4 stars due to the fact that the cabinets have taken some time to get delivered, but for the most part the instillation is usually next day as is the counter tops.. i have noticed some damaged cabinets due to shipping issues or I’m assuming manufacturing, yet the installers will fix what they can on-site, return the cabinets to the shop to rework them or in worst case scenario, reorder said piece.. it does take time to get items reordered and shipped so expect some delays on god forbid any damaged pieces.. I will continue to use them for my cabinet needs, and best of all, they supply made in USA products! It’s keeping hard working Americans employed as well as keeping our economy going! I’d highly suggest giving them a call over any other competitor due to the fact they use all American products!

Apparently these people dont like to make money.1. I walked into their building, no sales reps in the building, an associate stated, they come and go as they please.2. Called a few days later, again no sales reps in the building. Got a number for a sales rep, from the woman who answered the phone. Called, left a message, no call back.3. Called again, asked for another sales rep, was transferred to a desk phone, again no answer, left a message AGAIN, AND AGAIN no call back.I really hope someone in charge reads this post and addresses these issues.

I’ve worked with Excel on residential and commercial projects over the past five years. I’ve had them install marble and quartz countertops, as well as custom residential cabinets. They been great to work with, and any issues that we’ve had during install were quickly addressed and taken care of. They also had cabinets installed five weeks after we ordered, other cabinet companies were 6 to 10 weeks out. I know that might sound like a long time to wait but for cabinets that’s pretty good.

Discovered Excel Cabinets quite by accident, but very glad I did. Great cabinets, beat all others in price and likely quality. This is what I would call semi-custom cabinets. Excel was fabulous to work with and Carey our designer was even more fabulous. She actually became our go to person for questions and problem solving. We had only minor Install issues, but all handled with ease.Highly recommend Excel to everyone we meet, and Carey is the best as far as we are concerned.

My wife and I are building a new home. My wife was very particular about the cabinets in our kitchen and I was worried about the budget. Tom with Excel spent a significant amount of time to find the perfect solution that satisfied both of our needs. When it came to installation, Eddie went the extra mile to make sure that everything was perfect. Couldnt be more pleased with our experience. I would highly recommend them.

We redid our cabinets in our first house with Excel. They were BEAUTIFUL! I think it was Greg we worked with. He helped us to change from the original cabinet configuration to one that was more functional and made better use of the space we had. We have since sold our house (fast too! Likely because the kitchen was so amazing!) and still think back to when we had cabinets that were so much nicer than the standard builder-grade, plain-jane, honey oak cabinets in our new house. Wish we could have taken that kitchen with us! Excel was great to work with, delivered on time, and provided a quality product. Id definitely recommend them and would use them again myself!

I built a custom home this year. We got into the home the first week of May and some of our cabinets from Excel were not yet finalized. There were many that came and were installed that were cracked and also had the wrong nobs on them. After 3 weeks, they ordered new doors to replace the cracked doors at no cost. Many of the doors were the wrong size, or the wrong doors to replace. After another 3 weeks, the same thing occurred. Were now 3 months later and an installer came out today to replace 3 cracked cabinets. When the installer opened the boxes, all 3 of the replacements were also cracked. The folks at Excel are nice, but they have to get a handle on their manufacturer relationship. The quality is questionable and the communication between the two is terrible.Update: An executive took the time to come to my home. There were issues with the cabinet measurements coming in wrong repeatedly, causing delays (this is something they should have had correct form the beginning. Even after getting the correct size another cabinet came cracked from the manufacturer. Excel refused to install and sent it back to the manufacturer. Excel does care about you as a customer and in the end they got it right. Overall the experience took way longer than it should, but most of it was the miscommunication and manufacturer issues. Again, in the end they got it right.

Excel has done the cabinets for my entire house. We bought a house in need of a lot of work and they have designed three bathrooms, the entire kitchen, the family room, the living room and the laundry room. They did quartz countertops for us and custom crown moldings around everything. Custom work, excellent pricing. Highly recommend.

Where to begin, I decided to use this company for cabinets and countertops for my kitchen. I absolutely wish I had never used this company and I highly recommend you look elsewhere for your cabinets.Originally when I was redoing my kitchen I used a general contractor, that contractor recommended this company so I went with it.We had ordered our cabinets and waited for 4 weeks before I called to get the status on the cabinets. Our contractor called only to find out the cabinets were not even ordered. I fired the contractor thinking it was his fault and much to my dismay I found out that was not the case. It was not his fault at all but this pathetic company’s. I made the decision to still go with the company as I assumed it was the contractors fault..We reordered, paid, waited the several weeks for delivery, the day off Install came.. the cabinets showed up with incorrect hardware and one of the larger cabinets was broken, and an upper cabinet was missing, they never fixed the broken cabinet, they actually installed it and tried to ignore my multiple requests to fix it... in fact finally after multiple ignored emails they did respond, angry at me for not paying them and regretfully they gave a small credit so I would pay them the rest of the money. If this was the only problem we had I wouldn’t even write this.. so here is a list of what went wrongCounter tops installed incorrectlyMultiple warped doors on cabinets when they came inSecond install of countertops also done incorrectlyScratched my new dishwasher while installing countertops incorrectlyThird counter top install also done incorrectlyCut incorrect counter top inside my home, covering the entire first floor in a fine dustInstalled the corbels Incorrectly and had to redoMessed up the crown on the cabinets twice in fact one is still messed up, never fixed itStill have not fixed a broken door on one of the cabinets.. they claimed to have ordered the door but have received no calls for install. They finally got the countertops correct after 4 tries. The list goes on and on, there is much more, suffice to say I absolutely would look elsewhere if I were you. This is a terrible company, ran very poorly.Buyer beware!!

To whom ever that is looking to renew their kitchen cabinets: I recommend this company 100%. From the very beginning, when Greg, the sales person, arrived in my house to the day the work was completed by C hris, I had nothing but gratification for them. All staff that had to work in my kitchen were courteous, gentle, informative, willing to go 100% over their duty and responsibility, helpfull to the maximum like I have never seen before and extremely patient with me for asking so many questions and calling them for any little thing. I wish I could have them all as friends for ever. I am extremely happy for have chosen Excel Cabinets for my kitchen remodel. Everyone that comes to my house now, loves my kitchen and want to start renewing their cabinets. THANKS Excel Cabinets. Irene

We have had the worst experience with Excel. We were forced to work with them because our builder required us to use them for cabinets and countertops. During the building process, the person we were working with left the company, and apparently the notes he made on our account didnt get transferred to the person who took over. This led to incorrect doors being placed on our cabinets. After some argument, Excel agreed to fix the doors, but it has now been 3 months since they were made aware of the problem and they still havent fixed all of them. They are terrible at communicating (I always have to call to find out whats going on, they say they will call back with an update, and they never do). The salesperson is completely patronizing and seems annoyed when I complain that they arent doing their job. We also had to get countertops from them. When we picked the granite we wanted, we asked if we could come see the slab before it was installed. We were told that wasnt necessary because there was very little variation in that granite. Low and behold, when it gets installed that color is VERY different from what they had in their showroom. I understand there is variation in granite, which is why I wanted to see the slab! We will NEVER work with Excel again!

I know customer service is relative and well within the experience of eye of the beholder... With that said, the only good experience I had with this company was that the countertop showed up as promised. I really cant remember the sales associate I worked with; female is as best as I can come up with. Her ability to work with customers facing a rather large aesthetic purchase was sub-par. There were many instances where she could have made a huge difference simply by being there to answer the phone during normal business hours.I was told to drop off my sinks at the showroom. Upon arrival, the staff there did the typical poor customer service action of not acknowledging a new customer walking into their showroom. Describing my purpose of my visit, it was as if I was the first to have ever done such a thing; drop off sinks for the fabricator. I waited far too long for such a simple function.Install day came and the fabricator/installer arrived without the sinks that I dropped off. I dont know where the communication break down occurred but I was never told to pick up the sinks to have available for the installer. I believe the install date was a day before a holiday so I dont know why Im so surprised to learn that no one was available at the shoppe for SOMEONE to get the sinks: it turns out that I had to have my wife drive the 40 minute round trip to go get them. Again, my sales point-woman was no where to be found over the telephone. The installer was able to get a hold of someone to ensure the building would be unlocked and for our sinks to be located amongst their large building. It turns out that the installer got a hold of our sales-woman and thus she felt it unnecessary to return my call? The install went just fine though and the product was delivered as promised.I called the Monday after the weekend to make payment and of course I got a voicemail at the shoppe. I left a message with my contact information and the reason for calling and no one called back. 6 months later, which is now, I received a past-due invoice of my remaining balance.epic
