I purchased two exterior doors last summer. Once they were installed, I had my professional painter paint the two doors. Using the “top of the line” Benjamin Moore primer and paint the paint bubbled up on the doors a few days later. A week later, my painter sanded the two doors, primed and repainted. Again, a few days later the paint bubbled up. Waiting a couple of months, my painter repeated the same process. The paint bubbled. I contacted Fairview Millwork and was told they would be out to check on the doors. Weeks passed and they never showed nor called. I tried over three times and they never came out to assess the problem. Then COVID-19 hit. So I waited until the end of May and contacted them again. They told me they would be out with the representative from the door company to look at my doors. They were scheduled to show up my house on a Monday morning at 9:30. I received an email from Fairview at 6:30am that they would have to cancel because the representative had not gotten permission from his company to come out to my house. Question? Shouldn’t the representative have known about problem regarding coming to my house the week it was scheduled? Again, I heard nothing from Fairview. I contacted them again two weeks later. The representative from Fairview came out and told me the door manufacturer would pay for the doors because they were still under warranty. The next day, I received a call from Fairview and was told they would not replace my doors because they were wet when they were painted. The doors were never wet on each of the three occasions my painter painted them. Because we live on Cape Cod we are all very aware that it is a humid climate. Why would the manufacturer sell doors to Fairview and why would Fairview sell doors that don’t tolerate the humidity. I expressed my concern about the humidity and was told that the manager would call me back. One month later, no phone call. I have never dealt with a company who didn’t stand behind their product. Lastly, this has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Beware. You may initially love their products but if something goes wrong you are left “high and dry”
