I loved the actual exam, however every other part of my visit was very unprofessional.. they never answer the phone to answer important questions. When I got there they didn’t have my insurance info even though I was there last year. The guy had an attitude like he didn’t want to look in the system for my insurance info. The women at the desk are no better they were on their phones majority of the time.. Their system was down so I couldn’t purchase any glasses It was a complete waste of my time.

Im very disappointed in Vision Works, My truck driver Husband spent almost $700 on glasses, After I told him how good Dr.Johnson was. He needs his glasses because like I said he is a trucker and his vision is very Important to him for work and being in charge of such a large Motor Vehicle, also its hard for him to make appointment because he isnt a local driver .This has been a huge inconvenience for both of us, We went up there twice (technically 3 times, right after pick up we went back in) the second they told him to wait a week, which he and He was told to give them another week and he did.. came back did an eye exam and was that very rudely by Dr.Johnson that he was wrong, Daniel was awesome and tried to help but they are still wrong.so now we are out 700 dollars and he is done with this company. To say he is mad is an Understatement .

I was greeted immediately when I walked through the door even though everyone was busy. Everyone was knowledgeable and patient with me with all my questions. (I waited way to many years in between exams) They were even patient, understanding, and helpful with my toddler being with me! When it was time to purchase numbers were clearly explained from every angle and situation. I love Vision works!

My family has been going here for years. Very affordable when you don’t have vision insurance. We get our glasses and contacts here. Visited Wednesday morning and received both pair of glasses within a couple of hours. Everyone was very nice and polite

My wait was very long because they forgot about me! I stay 1 hour away.... they said dont worry.. we will mail them....2 weeks later NO GLASSES! called then.. they said we dont mail out glasses... Very disappointed I will most definitely find another eye place!

The eye doctor and staff that gives the exams are wonderful. However the staff that runs the front are horrible. We went one weekend and was told that no walk ins which we understood they were busy. We made an appt for the next weekend and was told our insurance would work. We showed up for the appt. And the staff was very rude not only to us but other customers. They were slow and had no idea what they were doing. They really need some customer service training. If my wife can be nice and respectful to patients getting their teeth pulled then they should be able to do the same. ( ended up paying out of pocket because the insurance we were told the week before was covered wasnt) I will not spend my money at that location again unless changes are made.

Good Overall Experience.Check in could have been better but not a whole lot to complain.I booked online appointment but dont think it mattered as I had to wait till my turn came (in about 20 mins).After going through initial check up, I saw Dr Li. She answered all my questions well and explained some of the topics I needed some information on.I would recommend this place.

I would not even give this location 1star. I have been trying for over a week to schedule an appointment.I do not have internet, so have to rely on phone.I have tried 6 times. Only once after 20 minutes on hold did I get a live person. He than put me on hold for another 20 minutes. I finally gave up.If you are so short staffed(or too cheap to hire more people) than you should let potential customers know not to even try to make an appointment by phone.Very unhappy. I will definitely tell everyone I know not to go here

My growing little giants were there yesterday with their pops.. our youngest hasn’t been in glasses but has always wanted them, yesterday his little dream came true 😂😂😂 and they had that decision easy for him, let him pick out his frame and they fit him perfect..our oldest has been wearing glasses since he was 3ish and they had always taken good care of him…from the staff to the doctor 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I highly recommend that you all attend this specific location. The receptionists are very kind and helpful. The service is great and The Dr. is extremely helpful, kind and caring as it regards his clients. My very first time using Vision Works was yesterday and I enjoyed my visit and I was comfortable and felt as if I was in good hands.

I have been waiting on my glasses for almost a month and continually getting false information. I have also been put on hold for 37 minutes. I drove from my house in Olive Branch to Southaven and walked in still on hold. I have been lied to numerous times and will never spend my money at Visionworks again.

This is far most the most unprofessional saddest eye exam I have ever had. The staff horseplaying and not paying customers no attention. Talking about everything but glasses. Me and one lady just standing in middle of floor like what do we do now! I was with the doctor appox 1 min. She just looked at my old glasses and said okay follow me. Never touched my eye or nothing. That was my first time there and definitely my last. Never again!!!!

The 5 Stars Are For The Front Desk Staff And Their Newest Employee. The Optometrist Elizabeth Johnson OD was NOT very Pleasant to say the least. She gets half a Star. She seem to be aggravated by me explaining as to why I needed the Prescription. Elizabeth then asked me about my Vision Strength. I stated Im not sure. She Sighs and says I need to make sure what she is looking at is correct. Due to the Tech Being New. She could have kept that comment to herself. Okay. He is new. He may make a few mistakes. Which he didnt what he noted was correct for my Vision. Im sure Elizabeth Johnson OD Isnt PERFECT. Id Happily Put Money On That.Elizabeth Johnson OD talked at me and not to me. The worst EXPERIENCE Ive had at a Dr Office. I Travel a lot right now. Im a Traveling Nurse Practitioner. Elizabeth Johnson OD needs work on her Office Etiquette with Patients. That visit ended with me feeling like it was a Inconvenience to her that she was seeing me.

Vision works in Southaven gets 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💯❗️I was really pleased with my experience. The entire staff was engaging, friendly, knowledgeable, and yet vey professional. Everyone from the staff at the front desk, Dr Elizabeth Johnson, and the men and women who fit you with your choice of glasses 👓 that you choose, made me feel and like a person; not just another patient that they are just trying to rush through. They have a really efficient process there that makes everything run smoothly which gets patients in and out very fast. Also, once I got signed in, there wasn’t a long wait time. Dr Johnson was friendly and engaging, took time to address any questions and/or concerns I had and even gave me recommendations on on other issues that I asked her about (which she obviously didn’t HAVE to do). But she did and I really appreciated it. I was a new client and they took time to get all of my needs taken care of and they didnt try to sale me anything that I didnt need like a lot of places do, they took care of all my eye exams and Ms. Glenda she helped me to pick out some very nice looking frames that fit my face, she was just trying to sale me the most expensive frames but she honestly and genuinely helped me to find frames that fit my face and looked nice on me,and I was very pleased with them and everybody working there seems to be very friendly. They made me feel welcomed. You should give them a try

I was asked if I wanted to be dilated on the visit, I said yes got back with Dr. Johnson who acted as if a she was in a rush and aggravated when the lens would fog up because of me wearing the mask. She would snatch the lens from my face and wipe and them place back against my face as if I was trying to fog the lens up on purpose. She was also rushy and uncouth. Prior to Belinda the Assistant lacked professional skills as well. She would not explain to me what we were doing and I had to ask if she was the Doctor because I had to no idea the different steps.She was also rushy and uncouth. Front desk was welcoming when I first came in but a lot of professionals here lack good communication and professionalism skills. I work in Medical and my Doctor would be concerned if I treated patients in this manner, Inferior. I will not ever recommend this place to anyone. Thank You

I visited on a Saturday as a walk-in patient. The wait was not intolerable and the staff were very pleasant and professional. Dr. Eakins was thorough in his exam and clearly explained the results. I also filled y prescription at this store and was quickly waited on and the staff were very helpful and explained each option plainly. I highly recommend this business.

My overall experience while there was great until I did not get my glasses on the same day as I was guaranteed. Being that I live two hours away, I opted to wait in Southaven (4 hours) until they were ready. The young lady stated they would be ready between 4:00-5:00. I called them at 4:15 inquiring about my glasses only to be told they would not be ready until the next day. A courtesy call would have been nice. My time is prescious‼️‼️ Now, I have to plan another trip back to pick up my glasses.

The representative that was there was not very friendly. The actual optometrist was excellent. No issues were with her. However, the worker that does the cash outs and frames, etc., was not aware of the line. My daughter and I were waiting for a long time and when our turn came up, she proceeded to handle another customer. She saw my daughter and I and asked us to sit down and she would “do both of us” stating she would work both mine and the man she put in front of us. However, she proceeded to only handle him and didn’t look my way again. I was so enraged that I asked for our prescriptions and left. I refused to spend my money somewhere that doesn’t give me the same respect as others. She made a claim that she didn’t know but both of us were walking towards her and she chose to handle him instead. Unfortunately, I believe it was racially charged. I and my daughter are Black, the man she put in front of us was White. I will not patronize this business anymore.

Dr. Gregory Eakins is the best optometrist in the country but especially in this area. I recently moved from Dallas, TX and have seen him twice since I moved. He is very patient and thorough. He takes time to explain everything and answer all of your questions. He will answer questions even after you have left. The staff is very friendly too. I enjoy getting my eyes checked now.

Complete waste of time. Set an appointment the week prior for Saturday. I asked about insurance was told it would be fine and could get two glassses with the double coverage if I wanted. I asked them to make copies of my cards to verify. Was told they did that the day of the appointment. On my appointment day they couldnt verify and cant call the insurance company there closed on Saturday. We were then ignored and no one was willing to help or even suggest to try again on Monday when insurance could be verified. Lazy and rude.

I had an 11:00am appointment and wasn’t seen by the optometrist until 12:30pm. Once my vision exam was done I had to wait another 30 minutes to have my glasses fitted.Although the wait was long the optometrist was wonderful. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and let me know the best course of treatment for my eyes. Definitely worth the wait.

Very competent doctor and front desk staff. This is my second appointment with them and I drove from East Memphis to Southaven specifically for this doctor even though there are other much closer Visionworks near me. Patient and knowledgeable. My family has done 3 eye exams, bought 3 pairs of glasses and had 2 minor adjustments done here. We also received referrals for cataract surgeries. Well be back!

I have come to vision works in Southaven twice and Ive been seen by Dr. Gregory Eakins each time. Each time is he cordial, professional, and always open to any questions I may have without taking offense. The only downside to coming to this location would be the receptionist. Their tone is usually dry and their demeanor screams I dont want to be here. This is not true for every receptionist because some do greet you and even smile! Overall, I would currently recommend this location, hopefully any future changes/updates will be for the better.

I went and order my glasses. I ordered safety glasses and they put my wrong lens in. Then they called me 2 times saying they were in the store. Then i was heading up their and was calling them to make sure that they were in. Then they told me that they were discontinued and they just had told me this morning they were in. Im going to Winchester or Popular next time. The store in Southaven have to many excuses, and their service sucks.

My wife took in three (3) sets of eyeglasses to get them repaired. The young lady who did the repairs got them done and gave the eyeglasses back to her. She didnt inspect the eyeglasses until we were in the vehicle and in front of her place of work a few blocks away.She noticed the chipped lenses in the upper inside corners of the both lenses for one (1) eyeglass set. I brought the eyeglasses back by to this store and they told me they did not damage them.She ended up bringing them in within the next few mornings to speak with the person whom completed the repairs. That person promised her she would repair the eyeglass lenses and they kept the eyeglasses. She was told that it would take about two (2) weeks to get them repaired.I came in about two (2) weeks later to get the eyeglasses and they couldnt locate them that night. The next day, I got a phone call to tell me that they had found them and they were not repaired because they claimed they did not do the damage to them.They overnight shipped the eyeglasses to her but did not repair the damage they did to them.This will be the last time we (or our children/family) come to Visionworks to get eyeglasses or get any eyeglasses repaired. I hope nobody goes to this store before going to a competitor or another Visionworks store not far from here...

I have been to this location several times and the staff has Always been helpful. Most recently I was getting ready to go out of town and needed buy more contacts. I walked in and was greeted but notice they were a little busy. One of the ladies was ready to get off, purse in hand ready to walk out the door, she stop and took the time to help me...went and pulled the contacts that I need and checked me out at the register. She didnt have to do that she could have left and let me wait for the next available person.Fast forward today I call to make appointments for my daughter and the receptionist advised me that I would to need make sure our insurance was in-network and that she would do it if she got around to it before the day was over or I was welcome to call myself. Well, she call back within 15 min to let me know what the insurance company said. I was planning on calling but she was on top of it quicker than I was. So, like I said always had great professional and courteous service.

During my visit I witness a male customer storming into the waiting area upset and yelling about something was wrong with his glasses, the staff and doctor handle the situation VERY professionally. Worst experience ever. I’m NEVER going there again! I don’t recommend anyone else waisting their time and money at this location. My prescription was wrong! called and drove to the office several times and still was not the correct prescription!!! Then the “manager” uncomfortably was loud with me and told me I would get charged AGAIN. Very unprofessional and now I have to find another place to get a prescription. DO NOT GO THERE. And I wish I would have looked at the bad reviews it already had. I wish I would have never gone there!!!!!!Update: I sent a very detailed email to the email address provided. It has been 5 days and I haven’t heard anything back.I will be updating if I hear anything or not.Last update, I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK! What an amazing experience on my recent visit to this establishment. Having never worn glasses, I was totally apprehensive and in denial about my ability to adequately see. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted with a warm and hearty “HELLO “, from a lady, who i learned later, was in actuality, the store manager.I explained the reason for my visit and was carefully walked through every step of the process, including how much my insurance benefits allowed yearly. After the exam, I told the optometrist about my failing vision and he assured me that all my concerns would be addressed!He took his time and ensured that my lenses would allow me clear and concise aquity going forward! Mere words cannot express how easy this process was and I highly recommend this locale to anyone possibly needing their services.When I returned the following afternoon to pick up my glasses, I was again greeted by the manager, who again reinforced their integrity, by handing me my credit card, that I’d lost inside the business the night before! How awesome is that????In conclusion, I wish to personally thank the staff and on my next visit, I plan to bring pizza as a token of my sincere appreciation.THANKS AGAIN AND YOU HAVE A NEW CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!!!

Im so pleased with my visit at Vision Works. I was suffering from migraines and eye strains and I didnt know why. I thought that it was my prescription for my eye exam from Lenscrafters.Dr. Eakins used his expertise (using his lenses and other instruments to figure out the problem) and a little critical thinking to help me figure out the issue. Turns out, it wasnt my prescription. The problem was that Rayban eyewear are manufactured with a tilt at the top of their frames. This caused my glasses to sit too high on my face.Therefore, my eyes werent looking through the prescription lenses properly. He and his staff used their expertise to take the tilt out my glasses so that they would sit properly on my face. I no longer have any headaches or straining of the eyes. Dr. Eakins was so patient with me and he didnt rush through my visitation. Thank you so much Dr. Eakins and staff. You guys are awesome. You help relieve me of my worries of spending more $$. Had a scheduled appt, still waiting an hour later. Sounds like a comedy show happening in the back. No respect for other people’s time. Please learn how to schedule appt’s with some sense. If the doctor is slow and not courteous to those waiting then don’t let him or her be the reason you’re operation is losing business.

This was absolutely the most horrible service experience that I have ever received. I received my exam on 03-30-2018 and as of today I still have not received my correct contacts. I took the advice of the eye doctor and used some cheap brand of contacts. I have used the same brand of contacts for 20 years. I took her poor advice and gave these contacts a try. They have been horrible. I can hardly see half the time because they become blurry and have a glare at night. They call me to say my contacts were in on 4-19. When I get there, I told them that these were not going to work and I would like to order my original brand. They told me I would need to see the doctor again, but after 1 hour of hassle, they finally decided to order my prescription without seeing the doctor. They told me they would be sent overnight because the inconvenience. I called there on Wednesday 04/25 at 5:26 to check on my order. Someone put me on hold for over 10 minutes. Finally I hung up. I called again on Thursday or Friday of the same week to check to see if my contacts were in and they said yes. I went to pick them up and they only had the left eye. I took those and they said that they should be in Friday or Saturday. I stopped by Sunday and they couldnt even find my order in the book. The Bianca lady was so rude and nonchalant. She could have cared less about my concerns. They atmosphere is so unprofessional and ghetto. All you see is a bunch of tattoos and piercing. Its been a month and I still have not received my contacts and know one cared to tell me when I could expect them. This is ridiculous. You have used up all my VSP allotment for the year and I still dont have my contacts. Im filing a google complaint and calling the BBB.

First time a year ago they never ordered my trial pair of contacts.Fast forward to today went as a walk in since I called first and they told me I could come in. When I got there they told me that they couldnt see any walk ins. Whats the point of telling people that they are doing walk ins when they are not. Then they are rude as hell.

Visited the Southaven location after being referred by a friend. I went as a walk-in on a Saturday morning and I was welcomed by fast and friendly service. I literally was in and out within an hour. I loved their selection of glasses. I found the perfect fit for me. Id definitely recommend stopping by this location. Even though it was a Saturday the staff were all very patient and professional and they took time to help me find exactly what I wanted! Thanks VW of Southaven 👍👍👍

Ive had issues with them the last 2 times I have been. Have decided not to return. I dont understand why with a scheduled appointment you would still need to wait 45 minutes to be seen.Staff seemed completely oblivious to the situation. Giggling, chewing candy and being unable to answer while I try to ask questions due to a mouth full of candy. Other unprofessional statements were made as well. I do not feel my time is worth being wasted from what I can see as incompetence. Did not get a chance to see the eye dr this last time, as I couldnt see myself wasting anymore time waiting and had to cancel. At a minimum, they could have informed me they were running behind, and given me an option To reschedule.

I walked in visionworks trying to see if it was time for a eye exzam and new glasses. Then I had a question about a credit where I had been over charged for some glasses. Last time I was there my glasses cost me $8 and some change, and the years before that I think I was charged in between 3 and 5 hundred dollars. So the girl that waited on me was honest and said she was new, so she went and ask this lady and she said she would be over to help me after she finish with the customer she was waiting on at the time. So I was waiting patiently. When she finished with the customer another customer walked in and she told the girl that she would be over to help when she get through with that customer, but I was there first. Quetta the spelling may be wrong but that’s her name, at the office in Southaven.

Went in for contacts AND glasses, mind you my employers insurance has FREE glasses and excellent coverage. I left with a trial pair of contact lenses, picked my frames also and paid $85, and told that was for everything. I got a text saying 1 of 2 of my order was ready for pickup, so I went to get my glasses, asking where my contacts are and being told I will get a call when they are ready. That was 2.5 weeks ago, so I called today only to be told oh the $85 Was for glasses ONLY, and exam, and contact fitting fee but my contacts need to be purchased for another $70something dollars?! Not. Staff misinformed me, even TOLD me my glasses were free and my text even said half of my order was ready! I had my contact prescription faxed elsewhere, the Manager answered when I called, I even explained the situation to him, only to be disregarded and asked Okay, what is the fax number? Insensitive! Not to mention my wait time to even choose frames and Check out was too long and they over book appointments and are really crowded after work hours.
