Love the store and how you can get a paddle board or a dog kennel. Theres so many things in there that youre sure to find whatever youre looking for and then some.The reason for the 3 stars is the lack of consistency with the staff. One day I get a yound man who is kind and helpful and the next day I get a middle aged woman who is more concerned talking about how long she has been on register with the lady next to her then acknowledge our existence other than to scan our items. I just never know.

Everyone knows that you get decent prices here. I had a wander through last week and will be back for the butternut squash soup and coconut noodles as the buy one to check it out went really well.

An older woman was so rude to me. If Job Lot sees this, I didn’t see her name, but on 03/19 at closing time she was on register 2. She was not wearing her mask properly, and as my (gay) partner and I approached, she said “Ugh, great!”. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was homophobic. But even if it wasn’t a hate crime, it was still rude and so unnecessary. Didn’t offer us a bag, has no customer service skills, and yelled at us to come to the register.

Its always hit or miss and today we had some hits and some misses. Theyre prices are pretty reasonable. Some things I need, I will try them first because I know they will have the better price. Some of their stores are better than others.

Ocean State in Southwick MA is outstanding. We all know that when we visit any one the numerous discount retailers we expect no service and total disarray (that would be Dollar General in Vernon, CT). However, I have been a frequent shopper at Ocean State Job Lot in Southwick MA. They always have all the items available that they publish in their circular. The staff is customer friendly .Every one of them will always help you out. Their merchandise offerings are extensive and they sell first quality, not something that fell off a truck. This is my favorite Ocean State store.

Southwick Mass store. Very nice. Very Big. We ended up making a large purchase & the employees were extremely helpful. Its a deals store. When you find one you have to take advantage immediately. Their crazy deal saved us $150 on a $250 purchase. 4 stars out of 5 because they only had 1 item in stock. We would have bought 2. ☺️

Its always fun to go into Ocean State Job Lot! You never know what you are going to find, but it almost always is a great price. This particular trip I just needed to grab a bread pan (a whole $0.27 a piece!) and stumbled across a brush Ive been needed and grabbed some yarn for a new project. Fun store to get lost in.

Love this Southwick MA store. Well organized and easy to find the items I wanted (and a few that I didnt know I wanted).

Lot of goods. Low prices on coffee pods (k-cup), nuts, jams, olive oil. Today purchased cotton flannel set of sheets for $20. In the past have gotten great deals on grass seed, ceramic flower pots, rugs, jeans, shirts, etc.

The Southwick store is clean and well organized. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Fours stars because they dont always have what Im looking for.

They have some good things here. I you find some thing you like by plenty because it may not be there the next time you visit.

The Southwick, MA Job Lot is fantastic! From what they choose to carry and keep in stock to their OUTSTANDING STAFF. Did I mention outstanding staff? Ive gone to this Job Lot 16 times now. ALL 16 times were fantastic, got what I needed at a great price and had lovely interactions with staff. This Job Lot is managed very well and treats their employees properly and employees treat their customers even better. I want to give a Shout Out for whoever the new manager is who completely cleaned up this store! I hadnt been in the store for awhile and never felt like my experiences there were very pleasant and the store felt congested and messy. Last week I shopped and was blown away by how impeccable the store was! All departments were neat and aisles felt spacious. It was a pleasurable shopping experience to be in this store! The difference was so noticeable. This store now gets an A+ for neatness, appearance, presentation, cleanliness and spacious walk through! I feel the employees have always been cheerful and helpful, so no complaints there. Kudos to Southwick for raising the bar and creating a standard that the Westfield store could certainly model itself after.

One of the best Ocean State out there. Large, open, clean aisles with a better than average selection. Even though I have a store in my town, when looking for large selections - like rugs - I head to Southwick.

Go there to get bully pretzels for my puppy he loves them. All natural treat.

Last two time I was in there one of the cashiers, a older woman with straggly gray hair was nasty. Will be bringing my business to the Westfield store where the staff is friendly.

Great bargains can be found on a large variety of things from home office supplies to pool and garden. But items are not usually of a high quality so be mindful when shopping and inspects items rather than assuming its the same item that you saw for twice as much somewhere else.

OSJL in Southwick, Mass (5 miles from Granby, Connecticut center) is my favorite place to shop for good things at incredibly low prices. At least 5 staff members have been working there for as long or longer than I have lived in Granby-20 years this past June. They are always helpful at finding items; not only telling you where to go, but they bring you there. Mostly I shop for the same items. For example, since I have toy dogs which are not always easy to house train, I purchase wee wee pads about every 5-6 weeks. At my pet store, they cost up to $50 for 40 small pads. OSJL has extra large packs of 40 for $19.99! Last weekend those same pads were slashed down to $9.99! Thats the kind of stuff that blows my mind. The store can always be counted on for having certain products in stock. Additionally, each season they have exactly what you need. Think planting items in the spring, sunblock and swimsuits in the summer, back to school items in the fall and everything that screams HAPPY HOLIDAYS in the winter. I could go on and on. I have been to a few OSJLs in CT and this one on College Highway in Southwick, Mass is by far the best from the friendly staff to the neatness of the store to the wide variety of inexpensive items. The one item I personally dont ever purchase is the makeup. Its usually old, discontinued or very poor quality. Otherwise, shop your heart out because there is something there for everyone. Last but not least, remember its not like shopping at a high end store, so check your items and you can return anything within 30 days with a receipt for what you paid. Otherwise, they will gladly give you store credit.

First of all, I want to start by saying that I do not expect a lot from this chain. This is by far the dirtiest, most horribly setup store I have ever been to. Takes forever to locate what you are looking for. When you ask staff for assistance they are unable to track down items as well. Apparently no one plans their inventory layouts.
