Adventure Scuba has the most knowledgeable staff. Amy and Scott (owners) make the safety and well being of all of their divers, whether they are just beginning or have advanced diving experience, as their priority. They take the time to explain and educate anyone interested in learning to scuba dive.

I was certified here about a year ago. I had a fabulous instructor, and all the dive masters that assisted on the skills dive were wonderful. They made you feel incredibly comfortable and informative. I have been on two trips with them and they were well organized and incredibly hospitable. I was injured on the last trip, I was alone and the owners, Scott and Amy, took me to the hospital, drove my car home from Santa Barbara, the staff of the boat and fellow divers were so amazing. They are the definition of kindness, good will, and compassion. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend getting certified here, they are highly knowledgeable, and eager to teach. I can’t say enough good things. I will always have infinite gratitude for them!!

I got my open water and dry suit certification here and it was AWESOME. Doug, the teacher, kept things fun and interesting during classes and was always willing to answer any sort of question. All of the dive masters and staff are excellent - when my mask kept leaking, they spent about half an hour helping me try on every mask in the shop until we found the right one. Scott and Amy know pretty much everything there is to know about diving, and are always willing to offer advice.

They basically stole $200 from me.I registered for a class and when I had to cancel because of some sudden work conflicts, they refused to give me back a portion of my money. Make no mistake, there was no contract that said such thing! They just did not like giving back money.Amy is the person in charge and she stole my money.

Its fantastic. The open water course is well put together in three weeks with a event two days of the week. The teachers are easy to follow and understand, very nice. You warm up to everyone in your class as well as the teachers. You learn exactly what you need to at a reasonable price. Im glad i chose to take classes here. All in all five stars

Adventure Scuba is a total class act. Top quality intructor staff, they take the extra mile to insure proper training of their students. Unlike some shops that pass students that have not mastered necessary skills, this shop will take extra pool time and open water time if necessary. They have top of the line Aqualung rental gear, are a dealer for Atomic one of the best brands on the market and they are a Shearwater dealer, the dive computer of choice for professionals.Plus they run fantastic dive trips to great destinations. I have enjoyed every trip with them!

My husband and I just finished going through our first open water NAUI certification and chose to do the class with Adventure Scuba in Reno. Not going to lie, the process is intense, but you better be darn prepared to go out in the open water and scuba with confidence! We commuted from the Bay Area and Amy and Scott were so accommodating to us getting us into class and detailed instructions on how to get online and do the e-learning and go through the workbooks. We had such a great experience and feel highly confident in booking our first dive outside of class for a vacation in September. We had a great time doing the open water dives in Lake Tahoe and all our Dive Masters and Instructors were so patient and hands on with us. Thank you Adventure Scuba! We are so excited to explore this new world.

I would definitely recommend Adventure Scuba to anyone who is thinking about getting PADI certified in SCUBA. They definitely know what they are doing and their prices are reasonable considering the area. I took the PADI open water course with instructor Brennan Bender and 3 other dive masters Terrel, Sean, and Robert. All of them were knowledge and comedic (when appropriate of course) which made for a fun experience. Diving can be dangerous- so knowing that my instructor and dive masters were well qualified made me feel a lot more secure and in good hands.

Im a commercial diver in Lake Tahoe and am extremely pleased with every aspect of doing business with Matt, Sean and the owners Amy and Scott at Adventure Scuba. I highly recommend them to anyone that prefers a professional, friendly, personal atmosphere. Its my experience egos run very high amongst divers and here I was treated more like a friend then a competition.

They made my week in Tahoe! Not only did they fit me in, they where very knowledgable and accommodating. This is my favorite dive shop I have worked with thus far and will always come back to them. I had contacted others in the area and one even blew me off saying they would call me back and never did even after calling them two more times to talk to them. Trust me... go with these guys you will not be sorry!

We recently came back from a dive trip through this shop, and it was an amazing display of incompetence and unprofessionalism. I can get beyond the fact that the resort they took us to ended up not having nitrox, having paid for the class and certification through the shop specifically because they told us the resort would have it (no offer to return the class money), or the fact that the shop owners said barely two words to us the whole trip, or that we were initially advised we needed no meds for the trip (luckily we checked the CDC which recommends anti-malarial and typhoid), or the lies about there being no steel 100 tanks to use (there was one that was given to another favorite of the shop I guess) – all of which is sketchy planning and misleading promises. But, what I can’t get over is when the shop owner and trip leader dons a Make America Great Hat in a bar, beaming with pride and all the racist, hate-filled rhetoric it represents, in front of the wonderful Hondurans that have taxi’d us around, cooked our food, and been such generous hosts on our trip. They were huddled in the corner trying not to make eye contact with anyone – they knew exactly what that hat meant, having been the target of vilification simply because they lived south of the border. The hypocrisy was amazing, and displayed a stunning insensitivity and character – one of those cringe-worthy moments that makes you ashamed and embarrassed of your fellow Americans. We went over to talk to the clearly offended Hondurans and apologized to them, hoping to make clear that not everyone espoused the same hatred and racism that the MAGA hat represented – even though others in the dive group were cheering on the grotesque spectacle. So, if you are in the MAGA cult, and want to travel to beautiful dive destinations with hate in your heart, demean the natives, and demonstrate true ignorance - these are probably the perfect people to lead your trip. If you want to travel and experience other cultures, enjoy their beautiful reefs, and treat their people with respect and dignity, then you probably won’t find that through this dive shop. We’ll never travel with this shop again. Shameful and embarrassing.Responding to the dive shops response:I guess you subscribe to alternate facts. You initially told us we didnt need anything in terms of meds for the trip. CDC says otherwise. You did correct yourself after we suggested you do so, too late for most to do anything about it. There was a steel 100, ask Jim who used it. Do you really think a Honduran is going to admit to someone wearing a MAGA hat, that they are disgusted and offended by it? We got a genuine response. What you did was deeply offensive to several Americans on the trip, not to mention the Hondurans that are made to feel less than human by the President you think is Great - which you wrote on the dock after you wrote Bite me on the dock. You already had a hat on, and we all watched you gleefully replace it with a symbol of hate and racism, with which you were happily aligning yourself - especially in the eyes of those who are most often the target of its insults. Lastly I will say that I hope you make different choices next time, and become an ambassador when abroad for the best things about our country, rather than its worst un-American hubris and hate. Grow. Love. Do better.

Be VERY careful here. I signed up me and my two boys for lessons. (430.00 x 3 people - in addition to another one hundred something for one dry suit (which was conveniently 30.00 more than the form said it should be)). While doing the confined dive my BCD started leaking when I inflated it like instructed. The instructor had another (that actually fit). They told me I cut the BCD and had to replace it. The next week, the strap broke on my sons rented mask (as did someone else in the class). But wait, there is more.... another students regulator quit. Skip ahead, I paid for the BCD but then the next week they called back to let me know one of the other BCDs was also leaking and I needed to pay for that one too.
