Traveling through the area and found this coffee place on Google. Because of the variety on the menu we decided to stop…and I am so glad we did! They have really delicious coffee and the atmosphere inside is lovely! The service was friendly and fast. If we lived in the area, this would be my go-to coffee shop. Highly recommend!

Traveled to Spearfish from Minnesota and wanted to try a more local coffee. No regrets - way better than Starbucks or other chains! Try the Spearfish Morning Latte!

Friendly staff, fast service. Went there every morning on our trip to Spearfish. I like that I can get an oat milk latte since not every coffee place serves oat milk. The fireplace creates a great ambiance. Ample carrel seating with charging ports. Try the waffle bites, best thing ever!!!

I usually love city brew but lately the customer service has been extremely poor. I got coffee this morning and my cup was filled literally only three fourths of the way. The straw they gave me looked like someone had opened it already and was broken. Also my coffee has huge chunks of ice at the bottom like it wasn’t blended long enough. Not impressed and sadly will get my morning treat elsewhere from now on.

Disappointed... early morning drive through, staff of friendly, Beautiful gals, But our coffees were unfortunately horrible. Tossed after 3 sips. Sorry Ladies but who ever made our drinks muffed it. Tasted like bad or dirty water was used and didnt mix correctly.Hopefully that was a 1 off. Well try again 1 more time and update.

I love this place. My favorite drink is the chocolate penut butter frappuccino. Great service too. Unfortunately, they are frequently out of items that relate to my order and its frustrating.

Always get a great hot Carmel Mochiato. Superb.

We waited for a half hour for three coffees, staff were all crabby. Poor service and the prices were expensive. The girl who took our order made her own coffee before finishing our order. Started ours two people inside got their orders before ours was finished then three cars in the drive thru also went by before ours was finished. And charged us for an extra drink on top of it.

This was the absolute WORST coffee experience that I ever had. It took 30 minutes to receive our order for 3 coffees. This horrendous service is a direct reflection on the manager and the way the business is ran. The rudeness and absolute incompetence is also a direct reflection on the manager. I would highly recommend that this manager and her entire staff find jobs that do not involve dealing with the public.

I previously left a glowing review. Im a former employee and have now been blocked on their social media, alongside other former employees, because we called them out for welcoming anti-maskers to patronize their establishment in an Instagram post. This is an inappropriate post and shameful behavior from the employees running the social media. As I said in my comments on their post, its one thing to allow patrons with no masks. Its another to go out of your way to provide them with a safe space, and yet another to literally block any dissenters. Im so disappointed.

Very fast, coffee is AWESOME, and it is located right across from McDonalds in Spearfish! The inside is almost breathtaking for a coffee shop, and the service is always wonderful! The coffee is always consistent, and they hardly EVER mess up

The drive through is SO fast everytime and Im always surprised how cheerful they are and ready to smile. I visit weekly so I think this says a lot about their consistency. They must recognize customers come for more than coffee, a cheerful greeting makes the day better! :):)

The best. Easy ordering and fast and friendly barristas. Coffee is really good and there is a wide selection of tasty and fresh snacks, breakfast items, wraps and sandwiches. If you have a minute to hang out or meet a friend, the atmosphere is easy and comfortable. A truly great coffee shop.

Better than Starbucks easily. The bakery prices are a lot better and so is the coffee by far. Really nice and relaxing place to have a coffee or two and catch up on homework or work. Spent almost all day here and it was great.

Very convenient for commuters, staff is always great. Coffee drinks are par with larger chains (good not great - generally too hot and about 50 cents overpriced). But the seating area is actually pretty comfy, great for reading, studying and relaxing conversation.

Sep 25 Stopped in for coffee with husband because we have enjoyed stops at City Brew in Billings. We had good friendly service and very good fresh brewed coffee. This was a nice surprise as we passed through. Lots of outlets and places for computer users.

Weak, expensive coffee and surly staff. Everybody behind the counter appeared to be angry and inconvenienced by customers, not a hint of friendliness to be found. McDonalds across the street has better coffee, Starbucks in Safeway has friendlier staff, Green Bean across town has both for cheaper than City Brew.

Great coffee shop. Love the atmosphere and the location. Coffee was good and had free WiFi and little booths so it was a good place to work on some homework.

Best cotton town

Its a typical City Brew. The first major coffee chain in Spearfish with exception of the Starbucks in the Safeway across the street. Its never been bad but nothing really sets it apart and there are better local shops in town. But if this is your normal preference and youre a visitor in need of a coffee fix, this fulfills the need.

Delicious breakfast burrito! Went a couple days after Christmas and wasnt busy at all. The gal at the counter was nice, but didnt smile very much. Other than that, I definitely recommend!

Pretty good coffee shop. Its a little less posh or hometowny, if your not a local its a little more business and a little less hipster doing homework in a bean bag chair. I like it because I can get a good coffee for a fair price pretty quickly and be on my way. They also have decent breakfast stuff. Friendly as well. They also have a drive thru.
