The coffee bar is a nice quaint place to get some internet access while you sip your favorite Java concoction, or get some food from the limited but tasty menu.There is something for everyone with French fries to die for. My wife had the vegetable taco salad, and she couldnt say enough good things about it.I had the burger and it wasnt bad, but it just wasnt the best I have had either, I would say slightly above average.Finally, the service was through the roof! Everything they did made you feel at home. I would definitely recommend you come here and try it out, and get the French fries!

This is my absolute favorite place in town. I love how they prepare my chai lattes. The service is super friendly and the place is cozy and homey.

We tried out 929 Coffee this morning in Starkville. I really wanted to give them a good review, but it took almost an hour to get our simple food order. We had finished our coffee, which was good, before the food ever came out.Please, 929 Coffee, get a competent cook. It shouldnt take 56 minutes to make a burrito bowl, 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast.

The caramel machiatto was the best in town. The breakfast sandwich was good, but the bread was too fluffy. Fluffier than a burger bun, which is not typical in a breakfast sandwich.

Internet didnt work. How can you be a coffee shop without working internet for guests?So I came back to give yall another chance and the internet worked today. Yall have great coffee, decorations, and music.

Theres not much more to be said that hasnt been said already, but 929 is a truly special place. A very handsome, welcoming coffee shop, with absolutely delicious treats and drinks. Service is friendly and will get to know you quickly - and welcome you back each time. There isnt a better place to study, philosophize with friends, or just grab a muffin. Theres a really cool basement area with more seating, and music events happen fairly regularly here.Ill put it to you this way -- per the words of a dear friend and coffee aficionado who now lives in D.C., 929 is still one of the best coffeehouses hes ever visited.

The pour over ( KABEYWA ) is good and tasty; The place is clean and calm. The staff are friendly and helpful and I will definitely be coming back here againUpdate:I visited today ( Nov 20, 2020 ) and was completely shocked of the decrease in quality. I used to say to my coffee lover friends, this place is my favorite for specialty coffee because it gets coffee beans from a reputable place “ Counter Culture coffee “. However, I was disappointed this time, I ordered latte and it was served in a cracked cup, and was not steamed properly, the milk tasted like water! Also, there was no latte art at all.

Hands down the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. I dont understand how they can pack so much flavor into something, but it never fails to impress me.

The main manager and coffee managers are so amazing and down to earth. Customer service was too notch! Our suggested Large coffees didnt even make it 20 mins they where so good. The Blackberry muffin was devoured by all 4 kids and my husband and I followed by tears for more. The sausage egg muffin was so moist and yummy. I wish I lived closer to enjoy every day.

Experience was ok. Friendly owner and wait staff. Clever decor. Double Shot Coffee with cute lotus flower/heart in cream was good. Cinnamon Roll was warm. Atmosphere was dark and No music to welcome you.

This is a real gem in Starkville. They have a nice selection of tea and coffee and good snacks to munch on. First I drank Moroccan tea here in my life. You can sit here for hours and work on your project, or simply hang out with your pals. They provide free internet. On few days you can get some lunch options as well.

Im not a coffee drinker (dodges tomatoes being thrown 🤣), but I am a “snacker”. Energy Balls are my favorite (peanut butter w/chocolate chips ❤️), but their Cinnamon Roll is a close second. Their iced chai latte w/almond milk always hits the spot!! Vegetarian options 🌱

The staff were the consummate professionals: welcoming and cheerful, yet competent, responsive and efficient. The buffet was beyond fantastic in presentation and flavor! The brisket was, hands down, the best we’d ever tasted (and we’ve tasted a lot of brisket in our lives!) Many of our guests exclaimed over the flavor.The presentation of both the coffee bar and buffet was beautiful, contributing to the quiet intimacy of the “coffee shop vibe”. As the hostess, i feel like cafe 929 offered our guests, most of whom were from the upper U.S. and Canada, a wonderful and gracious example of southern flavors and hospitality.Thank you, Cafe 929!!

Filled with many graduate students, locals, and dreamers, 929 Coffee Bar offers a variety of strong or sweet coffees made for the true coffee lover. The interior is beautiful, and the employees really emulate what makes a coffee shop amazing. There are classes and often art set-ups throughout the year. I havent tried any of the food, but it always looks amazing. Did I mention theres an underground part with big tables for students to study together, or groups to host bible studies? I love this place, and Im sure you will too.

I love this coffee shop. The atmosphere is warm, the decor is pleasant, the coffee is delicious, and the staff is nice. Everytime I go there, I feel relaxed. There are two floors to their shop. If you dont want to sit on the top floor and maybe want to get some work done in a quieter area, you can go to the basement where its much more of a study environment. There are even outlets for your electronics at some tables. Its just overall a great place to check out if you havent already and worth a revisit for later

This is such a cool place. They have a great selection of teas and my friends love the coffee. It smells like a great coffee place should smell. It’s warm and inviting and the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Definitely check this place out!

Very quiet place to get work done! The iced vanilla coffee is very good, and they offer 10% off of your drink if you bring a reusable cup.

Great for a coffee bar, though not a wide food selection. They did bring 2 vegan options in recently though. Great seating available outside, inside, and downstairs. If you get tea, you can refill as much as you like while youre there, check it out! Very chill atmosphere, I like to go sit quietly and read a book there.

Update: 02/18/2020The Cinnamon Plumb tea is Fantastic! and FREE refills?! its a great value and the tea is made fresh in a mini French press at your table. Ill be getting this very often :D

Excellent coffee in the AM and great place for a cold beer to end the day. Lots of big tables for studying or just hanging out. Nice menu too.

Nice little place. A little pricey, but good drinks and a nice atmosphere. I especially love their sausage muffins. It gets a little crowded during exam-heavy weeks because its a popular study spot, but there is a whole downstairs area too so you can usually find a table.

My girlfriend took me here to get some work done and it’s one of the coolest coffee shops I’ve ever been to.The vibe is hipster yet not overbearing. The design is beautiful. They have two floors and plenty of space to work, drink or talk with friends.They have a great drink selection, both alcoholic (beer only) and non alcoholic drinks, a nice dessert menu, two restrooms, free WiFi, and self serve water.The staff is extremely friendly and made the experience outstanding.I’d definitely come back here!

A modern establishment with clean lines and environment. Have a chic feel to it, and right in the middle of Starkville too. The latte had a very peculiar taste, in a pleasant way. It was not your usual burned, acidic coffee served in the well-known chains. Id have drunk this balanced concoction anywhere in Europe or Australia. Nice, I say. Keep it up. And oh yeah, the parfait was fresh and filling too.

Im not a huge fan of coffee. I say that to say that this shop is way more than a coffee bar. Im more of tea fan myself, and they have a great selection. I usually grab lunch or a baked good to go with my tea whenever I visit. From the knowledgeable baristas and talented baker and chefs, 929 offers a wonderful experience for a variety of people. Everyone who leaves this coffee shop is happier than they were when they entered!

One of my favorite places to go in town. The staff takes the time to learn your name and ask about your day. They are always helpful and willing to answer questions. There’s plenty of places to sit and hang out, study, work, or just relax. There selection of drinks and food are great too.

Fantastic atmosphere and helpful staff. My only critique are the prices- $3.50 for a small tea, even if its organic is pretty high. IMO tea should be closer, if not the same in price as a cup of house coffee. And I know there brand of tea is not that pricey. Other than that, it great, trendy place downtown!

Ive been going to 929 ever since it opened, and I am so pleased with my experience. Ive never ever had a bad cup of coffee there and so appreciate the importance 929 puts on the craft of coffee. The employees are so fun and friendly. I go there to study and talk to my friends. 929 really does bring the community together. Ive met some of best friends there!!!

Great light food. Great customer service. Amazing coffee. Mocha came with an excellent blend of chocolate and was hot but not too hot to drink immediately. Get it in a mug of youve got time.

I really enjoy the aesthetic here! Theyve recently (to my knowledge, at least) started serving food thats really delicious. Something I usually get when I go is a hot loose-leaf tea - jasmine + mint. Its really cool that you get to mix it up if you wanted to try different combinations of tea. Parking can be a little bit of a hassle, but it’s a pretty quaint place.

Great atmosphere and great coffee! When I was in college this was the place that I always frequented to study. Now that I have graduated, I still come here on football weekends to get my 929 fix.

Cozy atmosphere! Love having Bible studies here. And if youre like me and dont like coffee, you can get Italian cream soda, hot chocolate, apple cider (seasonal), and La Croix. Highly recommend vanilla cream soda!!

My favorite place to get coffee! The atmosphere is great, with outdoor, indoor, and basement seating (with long cushioned booths downstairs, perfect for large groups). Ive had their cold brew with milk and sugar as well as their mocha, both of which are delicious and are far better than anything Ive ever had at Starbucks. Their baked goods are also pretty good, even though they arent exactly the freshest, but the highlight is mainly their wonderful coffee.If youre downtown in Starkville or just want some coffee thats better than that youll get from Starbucks (for around the same price, if not cheaper), then Nine-Twentynine is absolutely the place to go.

If you give a damn about the quality of your coffee you go here. Nowhere else in town uses the same quality of beans or takes care to properly brew the coffee. They also have a delicious Italian cream soda if you just want something sweet.

My experience after being a customer and now the pastry chef at 929 has been amazing through and through! Now knowing the ins and outs, I can confidently say “we strive daily to bring quality, care and consistency to the community of Starkville!”

I really enjoyed coming here. The outside patio area is a peaceful spot to sit and the first floor is bright and open. Coffee was great and the staff was friendly.

Its one of the best places in town to study or meet in small groups. All of the drinks are amazing and so is most of the hot food. I was not overly impressed by their cinnamon roll, but nobody is perfect.

I really enjoy going here to study and take a break. There is plenty of seating and power outlets for computers. The coffees and teas are great. I think the music selection is wonderful as well. They also serve juices, sodas, and a few beers. They even serve a beer float if you are so inclined. For food they have sausage biscuits, quiche, cinnamon rolls, cheesecake squares, and other little pastries. This is definitely a place you want to visit in Starkville, MS

Try this place every week when walking my dogs and always a bust. Staff members always seem like they are unsure of what they are doing, even though they are the same ones I’ve seen previous weeks. I often get something that was not what I ordered and the food is always cold. Nice location, hip look, but basic coffee and terrible service. They are selling a place not a product. Done wasting my money here.

This place is nice. The atmosphere is what you are really paying for. The coffee is above average but the selection is more limited and traditional when compared to other local coffee shops.

Unique coffee combinations (rose syrup in my last cup). Charming atmosphere. The only caveat is that this is THE student hang out for Mississippi State, so you may not get a seat.

Absolutely scrumptious!! Listened to a recommendation from the barista (oat milk) and it made my Earl Gray London Fog so much better. Not to mention the delicious Bee Biscuits, energy balls, and mushroom carrot veggi quiche! Will definitely be visiting again.

I will be a returning customer. Best cappuccino Ive ever had. The coffee itself in the cappuccino tasted so good. Most places Ive been to have bitter or burnt tasting coffee, so I have to add sugar. But not here! Im so happy this place exists. My only gripe is that it took me too long to visit after moving to Starkville.
