Choices, choices, and more choices! Do you want tacos or maybe chicken tenders with mac and cheese? Or you could go with a salad or plenty of healthy options. All of these were top quality and well prepared. This looks more like a high end dining area in an expensive shopping center. I felt comfortable knowing my daughter would have no trouble finding good food at college.

I tried eating there yesterday and was told I can’t take out unless I have a meal plan which is ridiculous. I would have to eat in there with a bunch of other people while we are in a pandemic which I’m not gonna do. It’s a shame I can’t even takeout at lakeside or dining commons because of this new policy that should be changed because it has no consideration for the health of the employees, students, nor who we come in contact with. Definitely disappointed in Ga Southern and how they fail to set proper health policies during a deadly pandemic. 👎🏻

I went only for an job interview. I had one of the hardest time finding a parking spot never been on this campus. So this young student was backing out a said you can have my spot so I parked went in the building to be interviewed the interview was very professional and nice but went I got to my vehicle I had received a ticket for improper parking for not having a permit but regardless it was a very nice experience

The food is good here sometimes. I like how it is a buffet but they dont have a displaying schedule of when certain stations will be closed or open. Most of the staff here is nice and put plenty food on the plate.

Excellent food, friendly staff, and a great variety of options to choose from. My only complaint is that admission is insanely expensive without a meal plan, especially for poor college students that cant afford to spend $11+ on a single meal at their own colleges campus.

So many choices, so little time! If you leave the GSU Dining Commons hungry it will be because youre lazy. :-) Kind and hard working folks here are dedicated to making sure all who dine here are well fed. Diners always get a heaping helping of genuine hospitality.

Reminds me of International Buffet themed eateries. Sushi to hot dogs and hamburgers, even steaks! Only reason that I didnt rate 5 stars was that I didnt see any nutritional guides at all. Recommend that they post nutritional as well as dietary guides. Something simple like... Green(healthy), Yellow(Saturated fats and high sugar/salt contents, and Red(this better be your Last Meal because youre about to go into a Coma). Other than that, food and service was great!

Visited today with our son for orientation. There are many options for eating and what I had was pretty good. Long lines and forced quick decisions make for a little discomfort. Typical for a college dining hall, I suppose. Overall its a good place for students to meet and eat. As an every day eatery, it would get very tiring.

I used to really enjoy the food here. They always make the same stuff and it just gets boring over time. Not to mention that the food quality has went down a lot since last semester. My friend and I have been getting sick from the food lately. Its a waste of a meal plan, honestly. Im definitely sticking to my own cooked food next semester. There are some workers who are very experienced and make great foods. On the other side of the coin are terrible workers who basically waste food because they have no idea what to do. Even the pizza and brownies are terrible. How do you mess up on brownies?I digress. I feel like there should be more healthy options. Freshman 15 is a thing because there are plenty of unhealthy options. Another thing that concerns me is the amount of food waste. Id say the underlying causes are bad food and the big portion sizes that workers give. Even if you ask for less, they barely take off the large portion they served you.

I recently visited the Dining Commons while attending the GSU math tournament. I took 22 middle school students and they had a blast. Everyone enjoyed their food and the experience was extremely memorable! The line was super fast, they all found something great to eat, and the service was superb. Thank you GSU!

Literally every kind of food you can imagine....salad bar, made to order sandwiches, soups, nachos, Asian, southern comfort foods, no whey, breakfast all day, pizza, italian, burgers & hotdogs, chicken, dessert bar, ice cream, gourmet coffees, smoothie bar and rotating special offerings constantly. I came in to eat dinner around 9pm due to working on some homework. I usually dont eat late but today was an exception. I checked online on their website and saw that they closed at 11pm, so I decided to come. When I got here, I noticed that my go to spot to get food had already been put up. I thought this was a bit odd and perhaps they were made to clean up early, not sure. I proceeded to check another spot and another with the same result. The only places open was the burger and sandwich options.. Yea. Pretty disappointing options when they still have 2 HOURS left till they close. Regardless, I ate what I could and saw others coming in a bit later. I watched and saw as their faces scrunched up at their plethora of options that Dining Commons had at 9pm. Yea. Disappointment. All over their face. Lucky for me I have a meal plan, but for those that dont, well they just wasted about 9 to 13 dollars on burgers and sandwiches ($9-13 idk havent paid for a meal in a while). They couldve easily gone to McDonalds and gotten 12 McChickens for that price and better quality burger (IMHO)((*stands for in my honest opinion. In all caps.)) I decided to stay a little longer and watched as more students came pouring into their Universitys dining hall to enjoy that savory medium rare steak, grilled to perfection chicken, and the sweet to the tooth peach cobbler. Yea. Disappointment. All over their faces. I guess Im just used to a professional food location to be true to their word, schedule, and maintain operating hours until the last minute. I would understand if they started closing everything 30 minutes early but 2 hours is a bit too much. For the price and meal plans that all the students have to pay to eat here and yet not being able to fully take advantage of the money they are spending is pretty trash. After seeing so many sad faces and hopes/appetites being crushed, I decided to leave the premises of this illusion of a dining hall. After placing my dishes in their respective place neatly, I walked by, like thousands of student on a daily basis do, Todays Brews and immediately my stomach called for a caramel milkshake. The lights were still on. The workers were still there. Their faces still staring out into the open contemplating how slow time was creeping until they could get off. My hopes were up! I walked up and asked for a caramel milkshake, bright, joyful smile on my face. To my great dismay, the worker told me they were closed. I asked what time they closed for future reference, as well as for anyone reading the reviews, and was told in a very confused voice, I dont know 9 or 9:30pm. Hm. Ok thanks. I went home. A heavy weight of sorrow upon my brow. Tears superfluously flowing down my cheek. Disappointment. Once more heavy in my heart, making itself a nice cozy little spot to curled up and lay in. Thanks Dining Commons. 😘

When the Youth Church of Christ conference first arrived at Georgia Southern camp food court, they rolled out the red carpet, but in the two present years they have become more lackluster, the food is great but the choices are limited, maybe because of the signed contract, I pray that the choices does not decrease more, because our children deserve the full campus experience.
