I’m surprised by the 4 star reviews. The staff are super friendly. That’s true.The selection is poor. So many things are sold out consistently. I’ve lived in far more remote mountain towns that had much better selection. Oftentimes the produce is rotten or on the verge of it. The store is small for a town the size of Steamboat. When busy parking is terrible.

Your average grocery store with all of your needs Under One Roof! There are a few special things I go here for, one being the best Meats, two being good sushi.. everyone is super friendly and will help you if you cant find what youre looking for.

Items are so easy to find. Best service and custom cake works from the bakery. Very clean store.

This grocery store is right off Lincoln and Pine Grove streets. Plenty of parking, and they have handicapped and curbside pickup spots also.Organized and well stocked, bakery, fresh meat/seafood counter, dairy, frozen foods and toiletries. Can use your safeway club card or ph # number for club pricing at check out. Self check out and cashier assisted check stands available at front of store. Nice place to shop or pick up a few items for quick shopping.

Safeway has a great butcher, so if youre looking for fresh cuts of meat, this is the place to go. Also the made-in-house tortilla chips are AMAZING. That said, it is more expensive and has fewer choices than other markets in town. The sale options tend to be arduous (e.g. save $0.50 when you buy six of an item) so there is not much to bargain hunting, something I love to do. I do my main shopping elsewhere in town, but Safeway has a couple items that are worth making the stop.

I picked up some sushi and it tasted fresh because they make it in-house.

Great staff at Safeway. Honestly, Im a City Market man. But nice having two well stocked grocery stores in town.No complaints.

My wife ran in, uh I presume this is ok,,,the quality is at best, a ralphs,,,wont compare to a raleys bbn or bel air or even a king supers posh. But its cool, I think yu can still buy vodka hy the gallons there. So they have that demograph,,,,

Bit smaller than other safeways but it still great shopping experience. Everything is clean and they have just about anything that you would need. Location is great too, you can get some gas, be at your hotel and come do some shopping here.

In such a convenient location right as you are getting into town. Lots of parking. They always have everything I forgot to bring!

It was okay there were quite a few essentials they were out of that I needed. The deli looked nice and had a good selection of chicken wing flavors. Me and another lady were both lost trying to find pancake mix.

This place is completely disorganized. Total lack of leadership and the corporation clearly doesnt care about it. Id give it zero stars if I could.

When I walked in it smelled like bloody meat and that dept is in back. I asked 2 employees for items was directed to wrong aisle. Bathrooms were clean. Floral dept was organized and well stocmed. Checkout clerk was very friendly and apologized for my difficult time finding items she told me I should have asked them. The grounds around the parking lot are filled with trash. Im sure they are short handed with Covid ordeal. Not a lot of choices for groceries in Steamboat. Walmart is very limited so it is City Market I guess.

Found most of what we were looking for.

The fruit selection was great and the bakery items are made fresh daily. The meat selection was good. The biggest thing we didnt care was the price of isle items. The steak season was $2 more per container at Safeway compared to City Market. Several other items were just like that.

Long lines, ask for manager, they just laugh at you, so a few of us left, I tried to call and speak to a manager but the guy that answered said no one was available

The lines here are longer than any store Ive ever been to. I like to get food from the deli get but its always cold after the 20+ minute wait in line. It makes me curious why they have 5 check-out lines if only two are ever open? They are always well staffed at the self check-outs too. Its odd how making a buck comes before quality customer service at Safeway.

I was buying a dozen helium balloons for our 3 year-olds birthday. The lady working in flowers was friendly and we joked about the lack of smiles and facial expressions because of our masks. Walking out with the balloons I got a lot of happy comments.

I know this is probably going to sound bad but I have an idea tourists and visitors to the Yampa Valley on checkout 6 to 9.... And locals check out 1 through 5 keep us away from them what a disaster our town has become this winter.😁

Quick in and out. Usually a lot more pleasant than city market nearby. Better produce usually. Some prices a bit higher some a bit lower.

I loved Colorado. This store was close to my hotel and had just about everything I needed including a Starbucks, ski pants, goggles, gloves, hats, food, flowers for valentines day erc. This store had it all. The people are friendly and helpful.

Older grocery store. Not very well kept. Selection wasnt grear but is not surprising with all supply chain issues.

Amazing employees! The pharmacy here has incredible caring, and efficient people always wanting to help and actually caring about the people they are serving. The rest of the store employees are fantastic too. Im almost always greeted by a familiar employee, some who have been there for years. Thank you Steamboat Safeway for being so helpful! (And serious shoutout to pharmacy again, you guys ROCK!)

Ruined ThanksgivingOur family ordered a meal over the phone and then we go to pick up they say they didnt get an order from us. Gave credit card info and everything. Now we are eating veggie burgers for the holidays.Dingy and irresponsible, thanks a lot

I like its simplicity, I can get in and out of the store quickly. Has what I really want. Love the staff.

Safeways huge draw for me is their fantastic app, which hosts numerous discounts and coupons. It is simple to use and excellent at cutting my grocery bill by at least 20%. The store itself always has what Im looking for, and is peaceful enough to allow me to enjoy the shopping experience.

Much better than going to the City Market nearby. If you’ve been to a Safeway before, you know what to expect. Other places to check out are the farmers market on Saturdays or Natural Grocers downtown.

I love safeway. Always a great place for getting my groceries, with happier staffs. Than city market. City market staff seem grumpy. And not as willing to help.
