So happy that Door Dash will deliver MSD&B to me :) The Eggs Benedict is amazing (homemade English muffins). The chicken sandwich is crunchy on the outside and so moist inside. Every single thing Ive ordered from here has been spectacular. Thank you!
Ever since the Zucchini biscuits with eggs Benedict weve been hooked. A Sunday brunch favorite. Friendly service and timely preparation keeps us coming back for homemade goodness time and time again!! Would give 10 stars if I could.
Unfortunately my experience today was disappointing, a girlfriend and I went for breakfast and she had the cheesy broccoli bacon omelet . It was so overcooked and hard it could have chipped my tooth . I ordered the chicken and waffles while the waffles were amazing .. the chicken was extremely dry . Hopefully they can talk to the cooks about the timing they drop there chicken, and talk to the waitresses about leaving our food under the light for 15 plus minutes. When brought to there attention were given a 50% discount . We hope to have a better experience later
First, let me just say Barbra was such a delightful server and had great recommendations. Thanks for helping us kick off a great day! She talked us through the new menu and told us the benedicts are all served with homemade english muffins. The lone star benedict was a nice balance of sweet with just a little kick and the eggs were perfectly poached. The morning bun I had was so good, I had to get some to-go! So excited to try more menu options!
Market Street Diner and Bakery is picturesque -- with booth, table and counter seating. The food is good, the staff are delightful and friendly (with excellent taste in fun socks). It attracts a diverse crowd, everyone seems happy and satisfied with the food and attention they receive. The coffee is delicious. I could sit there and drink coffee all day. Its a wonderful addition to the Sun Prairie downtown.
This has quickly become our favorite local breakfast place! Everything we’ve tried has been delicious. Also, their customer service has been amazing. Even when they had some issues (like their poor fridge went out ):) and they didn’t have their strawberry syrup for strawberry pancakes, they made it up in so many ways. Support this local business!
This is the first time we tried our Sunday breakfast, right from Pancakes to Milkshakes they were amazing . This will definitely be our family favorite place in Sun Prairie.
First time here, lobby closed. So I went to Kwik Trip for breakfast. 👎
We ordered a red velvet snowman cake and a french silk pie for christmas... AMAZING! Every time we order from here, it never disappoints. Their bakery is delicious and well worth it. Easy to order and friendly staff.
Will be coming back here again for the biscuits and gravy. There was a little taste of them with my Whole Hog Omlette and both were crammed full of meat! I did see other vegetarian/vegan options on the menu but that is what I normally avoid. The Omlette was great, again plenty of meat, and a healthy portion of hash browns. I left full and had to order cakes to go. The gravey was very thick with meat which I didnt mind but some might have liked a bit more sauce with the meat, Im not complaining though! Great service. 👍🏻👍🏻
My mom ordered take out for us for lunch and it was absolutely AMAZING! Burger was flavorful, fries seasoned great. The BLAT was wonderful and the side salad was fantastic. We will be coming back again soon! Great customer service as well, very kind.
Very disappointed in their pie! Ordered a whole cherry pie for dessert. For the price, I expected much more than a small (8) simple cherry pie (needed to order 3 days ahead). I could have bought 3 of these from Pick & Save for less than this one cost. Way overpriced for what you get.
For thanksgiving I ordered a banana cream pie, it was amazing and so fresh. Come Christmas, I splurged and got a coconut cream and another banana cream pie. I picked it up at the set time I requested. Fast forward 2 days after and I wanted some dessert. The pies spoiled and smelled sour. I was very disappointed as I can’t understand how they spoiled so fast since I refrigerated them immediately. The pies were warm when I picked them up but I didn’t think much of it. Hopefully I’ll have a better experience again.
The place has shown a lot of improvement in service. Attentive staff. Delicious menu. All the breakfast items are fresh and made to order. The coffee is very good. They offer mimosas and Bloody Marys too. The selection of cakes, cookies, cheesecakes is awesome.
Well... all I can say is that the server Barbara at this place would get 10 stars if I could! We placed our order and still did not receive our food after an hour. We had our 3 and 5 year old kids with us. That’s a long time... she was so understanding and trying to help. Was honest with us about the issues in the kitchen, brought extra fruit for the kids, and totally felt bad as she has kids of her own. We never once made a stink just patiently asked about our order because 90 minutes to eat once being seated is a long time. Without asking, they comped our meal! That goes a long way, especially since we didn’t yell or complain. Since they understand service we will probably return in a couple months once they fix their kitchen issues.Oh, and the food is FANTASTIC!!!
The food and service were both very good! Had a BBQ bacon burger that was delicious and perfectly prepared. Service and food were both quick and thorough. I’ll stop back next time I’m in town!
The food is very good and came out quickly. The low score is for the waitress forgetting the coffee, butter, jam. We also waited at the bakery counter for ten minute hoping to buy a raspberry filled cake and some silk pie. The staff (including the manager) just ignored us. We finally left without any baked goods. Good food - terrible service
I had several less than optimal experiences in a row at Market Street, easily controllable stuff. So I reached out to Food Fight to express my disappointment. They were so contrite and caring. It was such a good save by them. They will always have a strong advocate in me now. Great food. Great place to have in the community.
We always love coming here for breakfast and lunch. They have a great selection of breakfast items; I highly recommend their biscuits and gravy and corned beef hash. Our waitress this last time was wonderful and attentive, ensuring our toddler at the table got a pancake right away. It is a great place for kids and family and is a casual dining experience for everyone. You cannot beat their bakery items either. Highly recommend!
We’re from Janesville, and we always get our cakes from Carl’s. The man behind the counter is very helpful. I had to park across the street today and he carried my cake for me. Great customer service all around. And the best cake!
Not sure what happen This is my first time eating here today and the omelet was cooked hard and made ugly. The cuts of meat and green pepper was big. U can’t get good breakfast everywhere.
Food is mostly hit, with an occasional miss. I love stopping by here in the evenings as you can buy their “day old” muffins and cinnamon rolls for almost nothing and they are amazing. Waffles and chicken were delicious. French toast is really good too. Chila quiles? Not so good. All in all, a good breakfast can be had at Market Street.
Friendly staff. So far the breakfast has been decent thr biscuits are great. Sense the prairie diner has closed down Ive been looking for a new place not sure if this is it yet. Way better than country Cafe
Service extremely slow. Chicken & biscuits are extremely dry. Little to no gravy. Go to Hardees better priced and tastes 10x better. This was a step above gross. They did comp a few drinks for our wait without asking which gains a star overall. Why would you roll a new menu out on a Saturday???? Click review for photo of plate.
Market street is definiteley heading in the right direction. Everyone was really friendly and food was really good compared to before. The only reason im giving 4 out of 5 is food takes awhile to come out. Well be back!
Cute dinner with a touch of the past. Kind service. Great food. And dont forget to take something sweet home!
I ate here alone tonight. I had just half of a Reuben sandwich, most of a pot of coffee, and a slice of coconut cream pie- all of which were delicious. My server, Christine was friendly, quick, and accommodating.
A fantastic place with an old school feel. They have great vegetarian breakfast options (which I always appreciate) and had that classic greasy spoon meets diner experience. Ill definitely come back next time I venture out to sun prairie!
Great food, friendly staff. 4 stars because they could run things a little more efficiently. had to wait to ask for napkins and extra salsa, and my check. Our server was running around real busy, but there were others just standing around. I feel if they ran things a bit more efficiently, i would then give 5.
Highly Recommended....Just had Market Street Diner catering for lunch at a work function at U Wireless. It was delicious! We ordered the pulled pork sandwich. They brought plenty. Also brought all the serving items we needed. Got the garlic mashed potatoes - they were awesome! The delivery lady was super nice and set up everything for us. I highly recommend Market Street Diner!
Hadnt been to Market Square in awhile but decided to try it out for dinner today. Seemed odd that it was so empty but after our meal I can see why. Staff was not very engaging and the service was lackluster for being so slow. Kids had mac n cheese which tasted off and was very peppery. The homemade applesauce was cold and was more akin to pie filling then a side. I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf which interestingly was missing the bacon. My wifes crispy chicken sandwich had tons of connective tissue and fat and her waffle fries were cold and raw. I dont believe we will be back.
Failed to have google list Take Out Only.. Business Owner needs to update it before someone that likes to dine ins time was wasted again.
Market Street Diner is a neat local diner! They have great food, a casual and comfy setting, timely service from friendly staff, a large menu, and reasonable prices. Its hard to get all of that in one restaurant, but theyve pulled it off!
Good food and service. My boyfriend and I live across the street and love coming here for breakfast. Its super cozy and welcoming.
They appeared as a new delivery option in one of the apps. We ordered, and when it got here it was missing an entree. So we went through the service to ask to get our food. The service called the restaurant and the diner said no! They are too busy, was what was reported. They REFUSED to fix their mistake! In believably rude. Never ordering, or going, there again!
Just tried calling 6 times for a to-go order and no one answered. Either they randomly closed at 6pm on a saturday or they dont have appropriate staff. Definitely a turn off. Will be taking our business elsewhere.Update: sent an email to the address below and heard nothing back regarding a meal for me and a guest. Another letdown.
Always good food. Great spot for all ages. Wide menu and flexible with special orders. Repeat customer!
We had Market Street cater appetizers and our cake for our wedding day. Josie was an absolute delight to work on our cake with. She is extremely talented and our cake was absolutely beautiful. The appetizers for our cocktail hour was equally fantastic. Overall it was a great experience and a fantastic staff to work with.
Have tried most of the local spots around here and these are by far the best burgers in town! Not sure if its the cook of the meat but both burger and fries were great. Love the cozy old school diner feel. Will definitely give something else a try next time
My family and I always enjoy our experiences at the Market Street Diner. Weekend breakfast is popular, so there may be a slight wait. Otherwise, we have never had to wait for a table. Service is always very welcoming, competent, and personable. Tables are clean and the decor is bright. Ive sampled a good cross-section of the menu and havent been disappointed yet. Love the lemon meringue pie and sugar cookies.
Went with my daughter for some ice cream, literally took 15 minutes for our waitress to bring us water then after 30 more minutes we left cause all we ordered was ONE SUNDAE AND NEVER SAW OUR WAITRESS AGAIN! no they wasnt busy at all. The people working was just to busy talking to each other than doing there job!
Nice variety on the menu and good service.
Such an amazing diner! It had such a nice feel to it and i loved it the minute i walked in. I ordered a burger and it was great! The customer service was amazing. I highly recommend this place
Great food! Our waitress was right on top of everything. Great job across the board.
The food was good but the service was awful. There were only five tables to serve including ours with three members of the wait staff. Lazy unmotivated wait staff. There are plenty of other diners around that excel in food quality and service. No need to frequent this establishment when much better options are in the area.
Since the brewpub opened in 2018 service and food quality went down hill. In a 3 month period my family had moldy on French toast, cold corned beef hash and cut up chicken breast sold as chicken tenders. Brewpub had taken up all the parking. Management will refund meals, but wont fix the problems.
Just visiting the area, Friendly smiling staff, attentive throughout with being overbearing. Great choice of foods, brunch time for us and none of us were disappointed. Shame it is not in Connecticut..
Great traditional diner menu any time of day. Quick & friendly service. Nice bakery!
This is a review of the wedding catering: it was fantastic. Jamie, the event/catering person, was a fantastic vendor to work with. She was super patient with all my questions, and always replied to emails promptly. When the actual wedding came, Market St. arrived on time, set up and cleaned up quickly, and everyone loved the food. They also have good sized portions and amounts. Everyone got plenty to eat, and we had enough leftovers to enjoy some after the wedding, but not so much we didnt know what to do with it. Our wedding was small, only about 50 people, but Jamie and Market St. had great service throughout the planning experience, and on the day of the wedding. Jamie made the whole food/table setting process worry-free for me!
I have been here for dinner and now breakfast. They always have great prices, great food, and VERY fast service. The menu is great with many veggie options. Their baker is also nationally known in professional cooking circles.Highly recommend you stop by.
We enjoy eating here because there are a lot of tasty choices. Try the weekend brunch buffet! I get it just for the desserts (the food is good too) ;) They also have some very good servers. The reason for my review missing a star: It can be loud which is frustrating when you feel like you are shouting to the person across the booth. Additionally, the hostess stand is the same place customers pay, so it can be a bit of a cluster at busy times.
Great desserts. And the kindest staff. Great experience as a family.
Have ate breakfast at Market Street a couple times over the past several months and don’t know what to think since it isn’t consistent. The first time breakfast was all top notch (Denver inlet, hash browns). Went back excited to have another good omelet and hash browns, but this round it just wasn’t as good...must have been a different cook. Hash browns were burnt and omlet eggs were over cooked (better that than runny I guess). Plus the diner needs a really good top to bottom scrub down to really clean it up..corners, crevices. I get it that the place has a lot of people thru it and it’s ok but a deep cleaning is needed. Ripped upholstery should be replaced immediately...I expect a lot better from a Food Fight restaurant group restaurant since this is supposed to be an upscale greasy spoon not an average greasy spoon.
Pretty good breakfast diner in Sun prairie. Friendly staff and good food at a good price. They serve beer too!!
We went for cake. And pie. It was wonderful. A 12-year-old boy couldnt finish his piece of cake even though he really wanted it.
I dont understand the hype of this place. Its okay, but Ive had much better breakfasts in the area for far less money.
Great food with large portions. We had breakfast and I had the chilaquiles, which were excellent and too much to eat. Leftovers are likely to be just as enjoyable.
The food was great but the service was terrible. They offer refills and I ate my whole meal with an empty drink never once seeing our server. Upon asking for a refill I waited 10 minutes without seeing her when she returned to the table with a coffee for someone else in our group I asked again and she forgot. Two of our three person group came in separately and without asking she ran us as one check. All in all I saw other servers doing well but ours was terrible.**EDIT** Market Street diner did a wonderful job addressing the problems I had in my first visit. Friendly quick waitress whos name might have been Rachel? I dont remember Im awful with names, still incredible homey food. All around the team at market street diner is great and so is the food!!!
Went to this diner for the first time on oct 6 after the Wife and I got married on the 5th, hoping for a refreshing breakfast after a long previous day. It was a busy Sunday morning so there was a wait, which is totally fine. Server and drinks were all fine, but the food, not so much. I had the cornbeef hash, wish was under temp and the potatoes were raw. Another in our party had the breakfast burrito, which half the inner ingredients were missing. And probably the most unappetizing, a member of the family found what seemed to be a piece of plastic or glass in her pancakes. She was polite enough to not say anything to our server, but I would have. Ive heard such good things from this diner, but that experience is one I will not want to remember.
Horrible. Not sure who is managing this place now but sure has gone down hill. For starters, been there several times in the last couple of years and had to wait every single time to order, get food, get the check and its not even close to being busy, its painful. You know its not good when the waitress suggests that you not eat the southwest black bean soup unless you like retried beans?? What happened to the black beans, did I miss something here...Ordered the fish, that was a mistake....Once you finally make your way through the breading, you might find some fish. They used to this right before things changed. Honestly, Ive had better fish from a box. Dont waste your time and money.
This surprising gem is in downtown Sun Prairie. My wife and I went there for breakfast. The staff was great. My wife had biscuits and gravy (her regular when we go to a diner) and I had their Monte Christo. My wife liked her dish. I thought mine was a bit of an odd combination but I figured I’d try it. The components were all good but I don’t think they went together well.I’d definitely go back but I’d try something else. They also have a drive thru in the back, but I’m not sure what is available for that. Perhaps just bakery items.
Food is ok. Not excellent but not bad. Wait time for food varies from some wait to long wait. I miss the Sunday buffets. Carl’s cakes are always great!
Kids chicken tenders were overcooked. Fish sandwich has a very small piece of fish. Soup and side salad were good. Overall ok, but for as high as the prices have gotten should be better.
Food was excellent with very large portions. The bakery items are amazing. Not only delicious, but beautiful in presentation!
Witness was nice but the food sucked. Toast didnt come out with the food. The BACON was like a hockey puck. Hard as a rock. Not HAPPY at all
We had to wait awhile (half hour) to get our seats, but it was a Sunday morning so its to be expected. However, a large party that came in several minutes after us was seated before us. Not sure if this is because its a larger ticket, so they get seating priority... Or just an overnight by the hostess. The food took a long time to come out, again, because this ten person party was seated before us and therefore got their order in first. Not happy. But...the food is excellent (almost worth the long wait) no matter what you order, hence 4 and not 5 stars.
Josie M., she is an AMAZING cake designer and baker. She is so patient, and really listens to what you are requesting. No matter how off the wall the design request is she will find a way to make it happen!
Bacon wrapped meatloaf dinner was good. Coconut cream pie was okay. Could have been better for the price.
First time here and I ordered the grown up grilled cheese and honestly it was the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had, I had a pickle and side of perfectly salted fries
Disappointing. I ordered an omelet and shouldve sent it back. It was browned on both sides and dry. My companion was a hungry young man who devoured his burger and fries so well assume that was good.
We are so disappointed that the pies have changed a lot. The crust is tasteless, light color cardboard like and mass produced and now in foil pans...looks like the cheap frozen pies you get at grocery store. They used to be larger and glass pie plate. Everything about the pie was different. They used to be so good. Huge disappointment!!
Always a great place to have a meal. I prefer breakfast over their dinner menu.
Really like the Friday fish fry. Carrot cake is out of this world.
Friendly staff, good food, amazing bakery
We came early, so we beat the church crowds. The service was excellent. Even one of the busers came by to talk to my kids. He was quite entertaining. The food was great. One member of our group had the oatmeal, which was huge! I didnt get a chance to try any of the bakery items, but after this visit, I will definitely be going back if for nothing else than to pick up some treats!
I encourage you to disregard the supposed disappointing reviews. This establishment is always, 100% of the time top-notch. Treat yourself to a Friday night fish night to prove it - grilled, battered, yummy. I cant personally vouch for the desserts, but everything else weve ever had has been aces.I suspect someone trolling bad reviews to move the meter.
My wife and I stopped in for a quiet dinner. The diner has a nice old time atmosphere inside. They have all day breakfast, burgers/sandwiches, and some homestyle dishes like pot roast and meatloaf. My wife had some pasta and I had the pot roast, both were excellent. We then had the key lime pie and banana crème pie, which were amazing.Price wasnt bad for two people. They do serve alcohol.
Quality food, reasonable price and great service!
We had lunch and the food was very good. The server was friendly. We did have to wait quite a while for our order, but since this place is similar in decor to Hubbard Street Diner in Middleton and there is always a long wait, we were not surprised. I probably wouldnt go there if I was pressed for time, but when Im not, I will be back
Very poor service this evening. When I was their this evening. Very disappointed. We wouldnt be going back their. Food was also cold.
Very busy! Nice place. Good food and service!
The food and service are always fantastic even in a rush. Its a little pricey, but its worth every penny.
Very good food and all peopleHave a smile on their face great food and pies and cake and Ice cream you should try it out.
I love their breakfast and they have great coffee. Brunch on Sundays. And now Drive-thru on weekends from 7:00-9:30 friendly staff.
Very clean and excellent food
I had the Farmers Market Hash. Potato, sweet potato with brussel sprouts and turnips. And a biscuit and eggs. It was excellent.
We were ignored when we first walked in. When we finally got seated it took 15mins to get milk shakes... They were waiting on clean glasses... Finally got food after watching it sit on the counter for 10mins. I got the meatloaf and it was cold! Husbands French dip had alot fat chunks in it. It wasnt even that busy. Wont be coming back!
The breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and biscuit was lukewarm at best. The hashbrowns were undercooked, and the bacon was like rubber. I rate them 1/2 star because the coffee was decent. I will not return.
Food is okay. Not a cozy place. Fast service.
Sad whats happened to this place. My wife and I used to love coming here for breakfast, brunch, or lunch... would come maybe once a month. Hadnt been in awhile, came for lunch about a week ago. Not busy, but service was VERY slow (though friendly). Servers were running about as though there was no organization, and we watched as our food sat for 10 minutes under the lamps before we got it. It was cold, although to their credit, they knew it was not acceptable and did comp one of our meals. Since it was handled well by management, we tried again for breakfast this morning with the entire family, and essentially the exact same thing happened. Steady, but servers appeared to be running all over the place without any organization. Server did say they were having a mini rush but they seemed to be staffed enough. We kept watching as staff was looking at food and tickets, again seemed completely disorganized and food sat waiting to come out for a number of minutes. Of course, when we got our food, it ranged from kind of warm to flat out cold, as mine was. My mother ordered a waffle that had butter on top, the butter didnt even melt. I sent mine back, server claimed it was being remade. I got it back, sandwich was mutilated and still not overly warm. And yes, I saw it sit on the ledge under the lamp for 5 minutes before it was brought back to me Lied to, it was not remade but zapped in the microwave and stuck back under the heat lamp. Restaurant is in a great location and seems busy, but until they put processes in place, STAY AWAY! Sad to say for us, one of our favorites in Sun Prairie has forever lost our business. Avoid unless you enjoy cold food and disorganized, slow service.
Once again we tried this place and once again they proved that their staff is lacking. I received my breakfast and it was cold. This is our 4th time here. The first time it was great but everytime after that it has been poor service and cold food. Much better options in Sun Prairie
Great food and service. Very nice restaurant and bakery.
Really good Nice waitresses and waiters do everything they’re supposed to do great service
