My wife and I stumbled upon this hidden gem! Friendly wait staff and cook! Delicious home style food! We love that you have daily specials! We had a pork loin special and a turkey dinner. Both were fabulous! We had some Cheddar Broccoli soup first which was a puree of creamy cheese and broccoli. Took home a baklava which was delicious. Thank you to our server Beth. We appreciate your kindness!

This place was amazing! We stopped to eat on our way to nyc and the waitress was so friendly! She gave us tourist info (we are from Oregon) and was super sweet! The food was delicious and the portions were HUGE! Prices were great as well!

Grits was runny, fish was not seasoned and or fresh. Toast was gd. Service was okay to be expected no one has help. Will not be my top choice when visiting the Cuse

My family is all from Syracuse, though I live in Virginia now, and this place means SO MUCH to all of us. Im grateful that theyve kept at it all these years, long enough for my grandparents all the way down to their great grandkids to visit. The food was great, the atmosphere is all 50s diner, straight up old school. Its fabulous. The server was so sweet and the place has a terrific vibe. I recommend the French toast and my aunt backs the Monte Cristo. Go!

Our family frequently eats breakfast at the Market Diner. The food is freshly made, hot and delicious. The service is always friendly, and fast. We have tried all of the omelets, and enjoy the specials featured from time to time. Market Diner is highly recommended and worth a try for a quick breakfast.

This place is a great example of a well run family business. Arrived to a very long line which was taken care very quickly. Everyone working together and helping one another. Our server was fast, friendly and extremely thorough. Food was even better. Large portions. Great value. All around great experience. Kudos to the owner for doing it right.

Friendly service and classic diner ambiance. Food was just okay but the prices are great for the amount of food you get. Wouldn’t recommend getting pie with whip cream, it’s just cool whip and there’s was so much I couldn’t taste the pie.

Yummy broc/mush/cheese/omelet. Delicious potatoes. Just dont care for coffee there...has funny taste. Super service n genuine friendly feeling from staff!

Ordered and it came right on time. The food looked and tasted awesome. They do not skimp on portion size. The corned beef and cabbage melted in my mouth and it was a lot!!! The container for the chicken parm was heavy and so full!!!

One of our garages is on the North side for our HVAC business so typically were always in the area I love to stop here when Im looking for a great breakfast and good people!! Highly recommend it

Never had a problem until now. To have the waitress bypass my husband who waited to order and tale the white man who walked in 5 mins after him, and then say well i have to take care of in house 1st is B.S. maam 1st come 1st served. I will be advising all my black friends that i know order from grub hub to never order from u guys again. If what the waitress said was true their food will be cold by the time the driver gets it. Remember 1st come 1st served

This place is incredible, all the servers are great, the food is incredible. I don’t know how they can make eggs, bacon and toast taste so awesome. My favorite breakfast in all of Syracuse!

In spite a of a packed house & the fact that Grub Hub steals away service from the folks who take their valuable time to actually, you know, GO there, the service was top notch. Our waitress Bridgette was not only friendly, she also has a funny & comedic personality that made the wait kinda fun. The coffee was great & kept on coming. My Eggs Benedict were delicious, as were the fresh fruit & sausage link sides. The fruit tasted fresh off the farm! We visited on a Sunday around noon so we EXPECTED a wait, but in the end it was well worth it. It was my 1st visit and I will absolutely go back... if for no other reason than some comic relief from Bridgette. After all, its about the dining experience and time together, not just the delicious cuisine! Great job Market Diner!!!👍

I used to love eating here. My last experience wasnt great at all. The service was good, but the food was horrendous. All I wanted was a Western Omelet sandwich and homefries and ended up leaving hungry and disappointed. The Western Omelet was runny and did not have cheese on it. The peppers and onions were cut into monster chunks and the ham was almost nonexistent. I didnt get the cheese on the sandwich that I ordered nor was the hardroll toasted per my request, in fact the hard roll was cold. The homefries also came out cold. Coming to the Market Diner is a long drive for me. Next time Ill treat my relatives somewhere else.

You can have all menu for breakfast ! We order steak and ask for medium well but they cooked well done and to dry too. The meat ball also not juicy enough. French fries is good. The waiters is friendly though.

I heard this place was good for breakfast so I tried it and was extremely disappointed. The food took quite a while, at least a half hour but I ordered the bacon crispy so I didnt mind waiting. When my food arrived I was told they were out of bacon was given sausage instead. One of them was completely burned on one side and was inedible. My eggs, which were the best part of the meal, were lukewarm at best. My side of toast was completely burnt and my French toast had some weird pale blue substance along the side (looked like mold). The meal was free which was nice of them but after everything I just experienced I didnt want to order anything else from that kitchen. The whole experience left me pretty grossed out and I dont think Ill be back.

Staff awesome. Returned 2 uncooked eggs and they gave 3 perfect scrambled eggs.

Food was good, typical diner food. Large portions. However, at noon on Sat. the restaurant was half full and our orders took 45 minutes to arrive. Our little ones were going crazy waiting. Not so good.

Food wise never disappointed, but did an order for pickup, got the notification it was ready, and had to wait for over an hour to actually get it. There were customers that came in, sat, ordered, served food and paid before I received my order.The servers I spoke with during the wait were extremely apologetic and nice, but the person I assume was a manager (only one not in a black shirt) was very dismissive and didn’t seem to cate about the online orders. There was actually someone there who had been waiting almost 2 hours.

If you are looking for a diner in Syracuse, I would not recommend the Market Diner. Took a very long time for our orders to be taken and took even longer for just water to come. Then after that it took even longer for our food to come. Took so long that we had to leave. You should not have to wait an hour for breakfast. I don’t know if we were forgotten or what happened but it was a waste of time.

An all-around great diner experience—friendly staff, delicious food, and fries at the perfect level of crispiness for my tastes. I noticed some reviews complained about wait times, but they seemed reasonable for how busy it was at the time I was there.

Nice atmosphere.Always busy, which is a good sign.Another one with a brisk to go business.Food quality is what you would expect from a diner.By that, I mean it for the most part beats chain restaurants hands down.

Always great! The hostess is a ninja! We go on Sunday morning at the busiest time and they are fantastic with seating you as fast as they can. They always give you hot food and plenty of it for a reasonable price.

Very packed, the only complaint was a cold dish, which was sent back and clearly just warmed up instead of making a new meal. The rest of the food was good and the staff was friendly

I like the employees they are very nice and owners I had breakfast their and the meant was dried up could not eat it and still had to pay for it was offered more but said no thank you should off been taken off my bill it cost almost 8.00 dollars but everyone is so nice

Food was good, but the floor was filthy. It looked like it hadnt been mopped in weeks and our shoes stuck to the floor like soda had been spilled and hadnt been properly cleaned up.

Meal was good. Three egg omelette. Not over the top portions. Decent breakfast with nothing wasted. Two omelettes, one with steak peppers onions, cheese. One with broccoli, bacon, pepperoni and cheese. And two soft drinks. $28.00.

This gem of a spot is affordable, clean, and the food is amazing! The manager goes above and beyond to greet each customer and check on them while dining! Our waitress was phenomenal, observant (filling drinks before they were gone), anticipated what was needed before we had to ask, it was as if we were the only patrons in the restaurant! And, again, the food was perfect!

Amazing experience and food always. Really good portion sizes, reasonable prices, a good kids meal for $5 with lots of choices that comes with a drink, and everything is home cooked and delicious. First time there, the service was awesome and everyone was nice. The setting was also beautiful and comfortable size. The food portion were good, though both our food needed some salt and seasoning.

Food and service were great. Prices very reasonable. Just wished they had jalapenos on the menu for omelettes.

The service is great and timely. The place is clean and comfortable with lots of seating options. The food came on time and prices were good. It wasnt spectacular food but was worth the price. I would recommend this place if your not into eating at the mall, but want something close or if you like a good dinner atmosphere with pleasant conversation.

The quality and taste could not hit the mark... like, at all.No problems with the staff or waiting, just terrible food that just wasnt worth it.Would not recommend.

I come in here at least once every couple weeks . Ive never been so dissatisfied with the service here. Actually had someone argue with me about how I ordered my food. Never in my life have I been so disappointed. Probably will never come here again as much as I love the biscuits and gravy. Sad!

I will never attend this diner again. Yesterday for Mother’s Day I wanted to take my mom to lunch after going to the market and I found a clump of mold in my chili after eating more than half of the bowl. Now today Monday I am sick with food poisoning from the mold. I have never in my life found mold in my food from a certified restaurant. And I can say I was a happy costumer for a long time and now I will never step foot in that diner again. If this would let me post photos I would.

The Market Diner was one of the best breakfast experiences my fiancé and I have ever had in the greater Cuse area!!!! Our waitress Brigitte was absolutely fantastic. So funny, so helpful and so accommodating. We didn’t want to leave!!! The food was everything we had imagined. We were lucky to go on a Sunday and we were able to do some local shopping at the marketplace right after breakfast. I wouldn’t just recommend this place, I’m already looking forward to bringing friends and family here!!

I had the best time here. It was busy but everyone was having a good time and friendly service. I wouldnt ask for a different waitress Kelly was amazing super sweet, attentive and very friendly all around the best waitress Ive ever had serving me. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!

Food wasnt bad, but the Service was terrible. I had to ask three times for a glass of water. The waitress acted like she simply didnt care. Nothing pleasant about the wait staff. The marble (?) floor is absolutely filthy and the booths werent much cleaner. This place has really gone downhill since I moved here 14 years ago. Edit in response to Owners reply: i was there last week, on a weekday, mid afternoon. The restaurant was not very crowded, yet i waited nearly 20 minutes for an Egg Sandwich. I stand by my comment that I had to ask three times for a glass of water. I had two servers; the second was the more friendly of the two. Server One had the personality of a burned out lightbulb. Nevertheless, I never should have had to ask twice for water, let alone three times. Especially since, by the time I got my water, there were only three occupied tables besides mine. I cannot speak to exactly how clean the floor is, but it certainly looks dingy and nearly put me off my lunch. I would not have written such a horrible review if I had not had such a horrible experience.

I ate the Nachos. Its pretty good. They dont try to be too Mexico Authentico, which I prefer in the North when it comes to Diner dining. Everything is fresh and good. Decent price also. The waitress was helpful without being overly so.

Must have caught them on a bad day as reviews seem generally good. Eggs were a greasy mess, slices of processed cheese were tossed on the top and melted under the broiler. I left a decent tip because it wasnt the servers fault, but cooking scrambled eggs on a griddle in an empty restaurant early Sunday morning should not be overly difficult. I did not eat the food after the first bite.

I love the atmosphere and my favorite meal is the pancakes and home fries. The service is top notch by all but my all time favorite is Kris Paul. I have had many other meals here and everything is awesome with no complaints. This is my go to for breakfast ♥️

We’ve been coming for years on and off, this bar far was one of the worst times. The frittata was average at best, the home fries were cold, the toasted was soggy and barley toasted. I ordered a Belgium waffle that clearly was not one. On top of it, it tasted like a odd funnel cake. Disappointed, the quality has gone down.

We stopped for the 1st time and food was delicious, prices were very reasonable and the waitress was very pleasant. We will definitely stop again. I had the Cuban, my mother in law had the corned beef and my husband had the bacon cheddar burger.

I went here waited about 15 min before the waitress came over to me, and as I talked to her all she did was look around at other people and stomp her foot as I was trying to talk. Rushed I ordered something quickly and When it came out, it looked horrible. I tried to tell her I didn’t like it, and her response was “nothing I can do about it”

Tony makes the dining experience like family dinner at home.The menu has variety of homemade recipes just like MOM.Nothing tops Turkey Tuesday Thanksgiving every week....I cant wait for indoor dining to come back.Their omelets are so big you get 2 meals and of course they are very yummy.No matter what you order you will never be disappointed.

My family and I have been going to Market Diner for years. Today we walked in and there were several dirty tables, 1 buss boy who was moving at a snails pace and a line out the door with no social distance. We went to sit down and the waitress told us we couldn’t sit until the table was full sanitized. I understand but we were trying to get out of the way of all the people coming in and trying to leave again with no social distance. The waitress was rude and told my father if he had time to complain then he had time help. I was so caught off guard with how rude she was. We will not be going back and I will not recommend this place to anyone. Trying to support a local business and got nothing but rudeness.

Hands down favorite place to eat for hungry casual dining. Huge portions! Great prices! Fabulous people! We eat there every time we can.
