I have dealt with MJ Repair many times over the years and it’s always been a good experience.

I read the reviews here and decided to go considering their proximity to my house. I had nothing but a great experience. Brought in a broken mower bag to see if they could repair it. They could not, but they found me a replacement and sold it to me for a reasonable price. I left to get cash (they are cash only), and they even searched through and gave me their best one without me asking. The guy who helped me was a young guy. But 2 other guys, including the supposed mean old guy, helped out as well. He was perfectly nice to me and even paid for my tax. I would go back here without hesitation.

I own an old push mower and I bring my mower to M & J because there just are not a lot of places that sharpen push mowers. This is my fourth visit and when I get mower back I need to be careful because it is that sharp. This recent sharpen visit has turned out to be outstanding. Im cutting the grass with total ease and now the lawn looks to be clean cut. Great outstanding service.

This is a small, family owned business. These guys have been sharpening my loppers and clippers for ages. They always do a great job.

Called to assure they were open and explained that my mower wouldn’t start. Was told what to try to fix the problem. Mower is working again😌 Not often repair places will give out free advice. Thanks for the great customer service.

These guys are wonderful. After going to two other places without good results, they fixed my aging mower in a few hours. Another place said it would take 6 months. After I did something dumb with the mower, they fixed it again for free. Plus it was reasonably priced. The dog referenced in another post is part of the place; he succeeds when others like him fail: rather than doomed efforts to chasing cars, he chases lawn mowers. He and his owners are in the right place.

This place is the most disrespectful customer oriented business in the city of tacoma!

Ive had two machines serviced with them in the past year. Excellent work and prices that didnt bust my budget. Ive now purchased a used edger which was a great deal. Ive found Chris (the owner?) to be friendly and helpful. This appears to be a two man shop and I dont think the mechanic is a people person. Ive never encountered rudeness though. I highly recommend them.

I was getting ready to do one last mowing of the season, when I accidentally put gas in the oil reserves. After trying to clean it out myself and effectively, I called M & J and they were able to get it in that day and had it fixed for me the next day at an extremely fair price. When I picked up my mower, they loaded it into the car for me before I found out that they only take cash. I went to the nearest ATM to find that it was out of order. I had to turn around and drive a few blocks back to the bank to get money. But when I returned, they gave me almost a $10 discount for being so honest and actually returning with their money. They have earned a customer for life!

I was visiting from California, just walking down the street and I inquired if it was safe to walk past the dog. The gate was opened and I thought he was a guard dog. I could see he could get out of the gate.The owner, spoke to me in a very disrespectful way, no reason. He was just plain rude.Im a senior citizen and found him to be quite rude and nasty.I would never do any business with him ever.Im a gardener and if I lived here I would share with any and everybody what a nasty person he was.

Guy said the mower was really heavy and he wouldn’t sell it to a woman. I showed up with a cargo van and ramps to load a mower if I chose one. How does he know what I can or can’t handle?All he needed to do was point out that the mower was exceptionally heavy and let me decide for myself.I’ll be taking all my business to Santa in the future. He treats me respect, and recognizes that I’m working hard every day too. And never ever did he act like I couldn’t do something just cause I’m a woman. And even though I can lift that Honda just fine, I don’t mind that he offers to take it in and out of my van when I take it in for service. He’s just being a nice and he does that for the guys, too.

They accept junk lawnmowers for free.

I use these guys every year for one machine or another- whatever Ive neglected over the winter. It may not be pretty, but they make it work. they have reborn a wheeled trimmer for us well beyond its expected life.
