The staff here took great care of us on a busy Saturday. Bruce even assembled a Giant Cypress in my size because they didnt have a model readily available. We ended up choosing a Giant Escape Comfort 3, and they added a more comfortable seat that we purchased. I cannot recommend this store strongly enough, trust me you should go!

Fast, friendly and affordable. Needed a quality bike in a pinch, and I walked away a happy customer. They offer a year of tune-up services and recommend a 30-day break-in tune-up. A trust worthy local business perfect for families with kids.

Bruce quickly fixed the issue with my rear shifter, at a great price. He left the bike shifting better than before. The bike feels better than new!

They do bike repairs but with limited hours. They still are open for retail. And they are amazing. Very quick, courteous, and professional.

I wanted a bike immediately and found this place online and went to see if they have any. I found one that I liked and they set it up in the next one hour and gave it to me. They were very friendly and they have nice collection. They said they do not have any riding groups though, which was disappointing. But the over all experience was pleasant.

Came to pick up bike that was ordered online. Be ware that Monday is closing which are not mentioned in the email notice. Wasted my trip and 1.5 hours on road for nothing. Upset!

This is a great local, independent bike shop with an attentive, talented staff. I have been taking my multiple bikes here over the years for complete tune-ups and on-the-fly adjustments. Yesterday I had a bit of grinding as I was biking into town, stopped by, and one of the mechanics cheerfully checked things over, cleaned the chain, lubed the gear rings, and sent me on my way after just a few minutes, with a bike that worked perfectly. Even if I had to travel some distance to go there, I would.

The proprietor was very pleasant and his price for a repair was very reasonable.

Bruce helped me find the right bike lever replacement! He even took the time to bring out a bike with the same levers and explained how to install the levers. Really glad to have this neighborhood shop!

Good people work here. I needed to buy a tube online for curbside pickup but the website store was proving difficult for me to navigate. I called in to buy it over the phone, and the owner, who was in a bit of a rush but was very apologetic about being in a rush, just left it on the porch for me to pick up and told me I could search for the SKU online and pay later.Im generally met with minimal condescension here, so props to the staff. I think their product line is controlled or owned by Giant (not sure how that works) so they product selection is not always amazing, but you can usually find what youre looking for.

Amazing service. Huge selection of products... and the friendliest crew in town. I highly recommend them even during this crazy period. Bruce took the time to talk to me on the phone, assembled the bike and had it ready in a day. I highly recommend this shop.

Nice small little bike shop, bought a nice bike from them a few months ago and a month later they give your bike a free check-up and will do free wheel alignments for a year. Staff are nice and will likely be buying my next bike there when the time comes.

Takoma Bicycle is a great place for service or a new bike. Bruce is patient (he puts up with me!) and knowledgeable. And its much more fun to patronize a small shop like this, and be on a first name basis with the owner, rather than going to some big box store.

Super nice owner and employees! Wonderful selection of bike accessories, as well as, quality bicycles. The service at Takoma Bicycle Shop is friendly top-notch and nonpareil. These folks know their stuff. Service is much less expensive than most (if not all) downtown DC shops and without the nasty pretentious attitude of Adams Morgan City Bikes (although I do recommend City Bikes Chevy Chase location).

Not a fan of Takoma Park or the majority of stores in the downtown area, but Takoma Bicycle is an exception. Bruce is a former bike racer and his passion for the sport shines through whether he is talking to the serious cyclist, bike commuter, or kid on their first bike. Incredibly knowledgeable and patient, Bruce gives the same amount of attention to you regardless of what you need, be it a new set of pedals or a handlebar cap or a brand new bike. Hes an excellent bike tech too.

Came here yesterday with a broken chain at 4:30pm. They changed the sprocket and the chain the same day. I was able to pick it up before 8pm. Service is great, friendly people. Cant complain.

I went today without my bicycle to ask about getting a tune-up and the cost of having the bike broken down and shipped out of state. The prices seemed fair for both so I said Id be back in an hour. When I came back I had to wait for quite a while before any of the staff even acknowledged me, and it was only then that I found out what would have been a thirty minute tune up was going to take ten days. The staff was non-apologetic about the wait or the labor time, so I left. Wont be going back.

Just purchased a bicycle here last week. Its a cute, local shop. The staff was friendly and accommodating. You earn 5% rewards back on anything you buy in store, which is a nice bonus.

Awesome bike box packing! They pakced two bicycles for my international flight and did an amazing job making sure both were secure and cushioned for the flight.

Wound up with a flat tire and no spare tube on a ride the other day. I walked my bike into Takoma Bicycle and they were extremely helpful. Fixed the tire in just a few minutes and gave me some pointers on things I had been doing wrong, without making me feel dumb about it. Thank you!

The best all around service Ive ever had! I rode 3 miles up hill on a flat tire and dry chain to get a kick stand. They filled my tires, oiled my chain and installed my kick stand in less than a minute like a NASCAR pit crew! They are awesome and Ill definitely be giving them return business and referral!

Horrible experience. Had an employee aggressively throw a drink on the ground when we arrived after closing, hoping to get tires filled. He told us they were closed, we explained why we were there and that we did not expect service. He proceeded to throw his drink and started opening the shop but, at that point, we felt extremely uncomfortable and told him we were leaving. Well never go back to this establishment. (By the way we had been there 20 minutes earlier asking a question and were told to come back with the bike to pump it. Nobody thought of telling us that they were closing soon and hours were not posted on door.)

Great service! I had a bike breakdown (my derailleur cable broke) on my commute and these guys fixed me up right away. They were very helpful and their process were competitive.

Brought my wheel in --- chronic flat tire issue. The tech found a staple that I hadnt found and replaced the tube. Next day, another flat tire. Returned to the shop --- Bruce dropped the job that he was working on to take care of me. He found the tiniest bit of shark-toothed glass embedded in the tire (apparently only a problem when the bike was loaded). No charge for the work --- and threw in a brand new tube. 5 stars: This is the way that business used to be done. Thanks, Bruce!

This is a wonderful Bicycle shop. I came here twice for bike repairs. The first time was a couple of years ago to change the tubes on my TREK 7500 HYBRID and most recently two days ago after I tried to replace the stem on my Giant ocr c2 road bike at home and failed to remove the cap on the original stem. I came to the shop late in the afternoon, no appointment as I had a bike party the following day. They were able to mount the stem and put a spacer in less than an hour, eventhough Ive forgotten the part I bought and had to run back home. The young man not only did a great job on my bike, adjusting the height and the seat...etc, but was very courtuous and helped me unload my broken part from the car. Ive been to other bike shops in the area over the years but cant recomend this shop enough. Outstanding service, unbeatable prices.

I love this shop. The staff is always very polite, patient, and helpful. Someone ALWAYS acknowledges you and asks how they can assist you. The staff also seems pretty knowledgable about bikes and bike related things which is refreshing. I bought both my bikes (a Giant brand hybrid bike and a Bontrager Trek style cyclocross bike) at this shop (along with some accessories like a multitool and other emergency/repair equipment).They also have frequent coupons if you sign up for their newsletter. Usually something like 20% off an accessory or a discount on a tune-up or something.The location of the shop is great as well; Old Takoma is a quaint and friendly little town.Really nice people. Reliable and flexible service. Great prices.

Lied about their stock so I drove from VA to get the parts they said they had for no reason. Would not recommend.
