I got a flat on my bike while riding the OCA trail. This was the nearest shop and, though they specialize solely in eBikes, the owner was incredibly helpful. He sold me a tube and even put it on the wheel when I couldnt do it myself. Definitely a good place to head if you value kindness and friendly, knowledgeable service.
The e-bike ride was surprisingly so much fun. The customer service was exceptional. A special thanks to Danny, the young man who set us up for the ride. I forgot to take my iPhone from the bike after the ride, and he ran after me into the parking lot to give it back. An overall great experience.
We made a reservation and the bike was waiting fully charged and ready for us!!The guy working at the bridge kiosk was very nice and helpful. He gave us sunscreen as well. He explained all the features for ebike. Ride costed $20 for an hour.
So lucky to have found Ed and Sleek eBikes. We walked in literally knowing nothing. Ed asked us all the right questions, he spent the time with us and found the perfect pair of bikes for my husband and I. He tweaked our bikes to personalize them just the way we needed. Ed went above and beyond to adjust to our comfort. Hes easy to reach, very responsive, super pleasant, fair and honest. I highly recommend this shop. I feel confident that Ed will help with anything that comes up and Im so glad we have a place to service the bikes. Dont feel intimidated if youre a newbie like me :) A+++
We made a reservation....and the bike was waiting fully charged and ready for us!!The guy working at the bridge kiosk (Danny) was very nice and helpful. The path itself was very empty and it was a beautiful ride.
Excellent service from folks who really know their business inside out. If youre after an e-bike, this is where you want to go. These machines are complex and have lots more moving parts than a regular bike, so having people who know whats what is extra important. Highly recommended.
Daniel is great!! had a great all around experience
I bought an e-bike this week from Sleek. What an amazing experience. I was all set to buy a less expensive e-bike direct through the internet. Partial assembly required. Tuning would need to be done by me assuming the bike came in without damage. Then I called Sleek. Edward is super knowledgeable and after three phone calls with Edward and Peter the choice was clear to me. Bulls bike with a Bosch motor. I am not going into stores at this time so Edward delivered the bike to me! Assembled checked out and tuned up. Amazing service. Not only do I have a great bike but I also feel that I will have great after sales support and service when needed. Thank you Edward.
Great way to spend a day, & the best way to see the area!!!! If you’ve never ridden an eBike before - for God’s sake, what are you waiting for????My girlfriend & I spent an entire Summer day cruising around Tarrytown - the Riverwalk, Sleepy Hollow, the Cemetery, the Cuomo Bridge, a few trails in Rockefeller State Park - & I don’t think I broke a sweat ONCE. It’s incredible the difference that it makes; on a regular bike, we’d have been fried by the early afternoon. Instead,Plus - great service. Mario was super helpful - seems like they’re really down to do their best to get you out into the world on one of their bikes!!!!
I made the decision to get a little freedom back during the pandemic and buying a bicycle. Living in a very hilly river town, I did a bit of ruminating on an E-Bike. Had a few ideas after my research and found Sleek. I cannot tell you what a pleasant experience I had. Store was clean, staff was gloved and masked and gave me plenty of distance and remarkably knowledgeable. I cannot recommend Sleek enough. Had an incident with the bike a week or two after I bought from them and they literally had door to door service for me. Sleek has a customer for life. Thank you guys. Youre the best.
The bikes are amazing!Service is great!Quality is tops!
I glanced at other reviews and totally agree that there is no other rating for this place but 5 stars! I was a first time e-bike rider and Edward was everything anyone could want in a sales person. You can learn everything you need to know about the e-bikes from him in order to make an informed decision on whats best for yourself. That kind of patience cannot be found everywhere! Edward is also ever so charming. Im thrilled with my purchase.
Horrible service.Response to owners response. Yes Ed, I did complain after every thing happened and how you handled that complaint is part of why i have an issue with your lack of service or care. I dropped the bike to you when you said...even though you said it would be done that day, I said take the time, I know youre busy.It then took you more than a week to get it back to me and you never even called me to let me know what was going on, I had to chase you. I rode the bike home and found that it was not tuned, nor was the work done that I asked for. In fact you stated you had done additional work that was not asked for and that started a new problem with the bike. I brought it back and asked it to be done again correctly. You took it back...did what I asked and boasted that it was now correct and you werent charging me. So I have the same question I posed at that time...why was it not done correctly the first time?Your response was...take your business elsewhere. That to me is not good customer service. You boasted you didnt charge me for work you did the second time...of course not..it should have been done right the first time. I want to reiterate...i paod for the service the first time. The second time you took the bike in was to complete what wasnt done the first time. You didnt refund me the first bill I paid...so how is that giving me the service for free?I like the bike and the Magnum company, its a shame you are the only rep for them in this area.
This is a real person guys not the computer answer about real problems of the storeWhy u should not buy a bike in the store?Because the price are not fair for usI know i know is a bussines and stuff but for example the most espensive bike they have is about 3,5000 gazelle m t10 which have the half of features than a( monday gen 7) if u dont belive me go and cheeckDONT BUY HERE SEARCH IS BETTER FOR Uyour welcome
Rented bikes from here many times. Always get great customer service and a fun experience. The shop is in easy riding distance to the Croton aqueduct trail which is a fun ride.
If you own a standard run of the mill 10 speed bike this place is not for you. All they sell and fix are very highly expensive bicycles. Not really a bike shop you would expect. Go down the road.
I would give them a 5 star but they broke my bank account.
Elegant, Superb Customer Service, and Knowledgeable. These are the characteristics of the staff at Sleek eBikes and the products they sell/rent. I came here last year to browse around the store and stopping myself from falling in love with all the bikes in the showroom. Ed, the Owner, emerged from the workshop he has downstairs. We had a great conversation and he asked if I wanted to test drive an ebike. I couldnt pass that offer. We went around Tarrytown for like 10 minutes. I felt the speed and power of an ebike for the first time. This is definitely the future for a healthier lifestyle and healthier planet. I can tell Ed is passionate about his business and knows what hes doing mechanically. This summer I tried the bike rentals at the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. Incredible, the views are fantastic, and the website is straight forward. We are lucky to have an extraordinary electric bike store in Tarrytown NY.
Ed is extremely knowledgeable, has great selection and prices! I could not have been more pleased with my experience, as there were so many good choices and I had many very technical questions. Ed answered all clearly and made it easy to decide which was best for me. He is very honest, smart and treated me very fairly. I also cannot say enough about the Bulls brand, which performed wonderfully throughout the 2018 season. Thank you Ed - I will be back soon!
This was our first experience with electric bikes - and it could not have been better. My boyfriend and I had a ball cruising up and down the aqueduct on them. They’re a lot of fun to ride, pricing for rentals @ Sleek is super reasonable; all around great way to spend an afternoon. Also must note, Ed rocks! He was so cool and patient with all our questions that - aside from how fun the bikes are - we wouldn’t hesitate to rent from here again.
Absolutely the best. Were avid road bike and touring cyclist. Never road ebikes before. What a fabulous experience. From communication through email days before arriving to returning the bikes. Giving us great advice on where to go and not to go...just a wonderful time. Try it youll love it and youll love working with Edward on the adventure.
It’s impossible to know how fun these bikes are until you try one for yourself. Beautiful shop, and Edward was super knowledgeable and accommodating. He made our experience seamless. This place is definitely worth your time.
If youre looking for an e bike dont look any further then Sleek ebikes. Edward is very knowledgeable, and professional. They will work with you on building your bike to your specs. The communication, and customer service is top notch. Very deserving 5 STARS!Keep up the good work!
If youre considering an electric bike Ed has a great selection that fit a range of needs and budgets. Ed knows his stuff and will give you the pros and cons based on your needs, no pushy, slick sales here.I bought a Bulls commuter bike from Ed and hes provided everything from route tips to servicing. Highly recommended.
What a great experience! I was in the market for an Urban Arrow for over a year. Finally ready to take the plunge, I reached out to Edward who I have known to be a leader in the e-bike movement. My family and I visited the shop. Edward spent a great deal of time going over the details of the bike and even took everyone for a test ride so that we can feel secure this was the best choice for our family. That day I ordered this bike and in just over a week I was riding my family around in our new bike. Great customer service, knowelagable about his product, an overall great experience. Trust Edward and sleek with your move to an e-bike.
100% satisfied beyond expectations.I was not sure what to expect but I decided to take the plunge and explore my options in buying an electric bike. When I first called Eds business to set up a test drive he was extremely friendly and personable. When I arrived for my test drive Ed narrowed in on what exactly I was looking for and wanted. I was looking for an e bike that could help me get some exercise while at the same time propelling me up hills when needed. I suffer from heart disease and need to lose weight as well, which can be very difficult for heart patients. The test drive was a blast as I discovered each bike has its pros and cons and their own personality and idiosyncrasy. We drove 4 different bikes in the neighborhood while Ed coached me on the gears, the differing ways the electric motors respond and how they handle hills. In the end I settled on the Magnum.Ed delivered the bike to my residence, with delivery fee, right on the time we agreed upon. This evening I took it for its first spin and had a blast. I live in Northern Manhattan around the Cloisters and Inwood Hill Park and have discovered a new freedom. I need to experiment with the gears on hills so as not to get to spoiled, as I have found I can ride hills with minimal effort. My goodness I am in Heaven. Money well spent.
This place is great! My wife and I wandered in to figure out if an ebike was right for her. We got a great low-key explanation of how the bikes differed and what the differences in money translated into. Best part? He offered my wife a test ride right then and there. We went down to a residential area and she got to ride each one around. Bam! We left with a bike. I recommend this to shop to anyone -- theres no sales pressure and plenty of info.
I never write reviews, on anything, anywhere. But this time its worth making an exception, because of the awesome buying experience.I stopped by Sleek eBikes just to check what all the fuss was about electric bikes, asked a million questions, and got myself an education on the technology from Edward Busk, the proprietor. The next day I went back, asked another million questions, tried a few bikes, and just had to buy one.Ed put zero pressure on me, but displayed such genuine enthusiasm for what he was doing that, well, it was contagious.I have since been back a few times with minor issues -caused by my inexperience - and received nothing but quick customer service, and fast replies to my emails.Im happy I didnt buy online or at a more convenient location near my house. In the first case, I would no doubt have bought the wrong thing, and in the second, it certainly wouldnt have been such a pleasant experience. Incidentally, the price was lower than most other resellers, online or not.If youre thinking about buying an eBike, this is the place to do it.
Check this place out before you buy an Ebike. Ed will walk you through to find the right bike with service and support to match at a competitive price. You cant get that from shopping online because you know where you can find him! Oh, Ebikes are more fun than a regular bike, just try them out.He is a pleasure to deal with.
Purchased my first ebike, Yamaha YDX torc from sleek bikes. Owner, Edward is awesome guy, very knowledgeable about ebikes no pressure in buying process. Bought bike, helmet, lock an stand from Edward, he explained everything with extreme detail. Dropping my machine at sleek ebikes for a once over before I head out to Vermont for ebike vacation is always a pleasure. Great chit chat with Edward always, top notch ebike mechanic, great lunch in Tarrytown. Loving my ebike, thanks sleek ebikes.
Great Shop! In the market for an Urban Arrow and they answered all my questions.
After conducting extensive online research, visiting a few electric bike stores and talking with a few more over the phone, I decided to make my purchase from Sleek Ebikes, even though it was not the store closest to me for what I wanted. Edward, the store owner, was extremely helpful, informative and friendly on the phone. His passion for and knowledge of ebikes shone through. This continued when I went to the store. The day of my purchase as well as subsequent visits for service, he has been unfailingly gracious, passionate about ebikes and a true pleasure to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable about the bikes and accessories, and I absolutely never feel like he is trying to sell me anything; he truly just wants his customers to have the best possible biking experience! I go out of my way to drive the 45 - 60 minutes here for every e-bike need (service, additional accessories, etc.) just because I know I will get exactly what I need, every time. Thanks, Ed, for your knowledge, your helpfulness and your great customer service!
Wow, I dont know where to start. I never review, though in the case of my experience with Ed (owner of Sleek eBikes)...I just had to write this. My wife and I went on a bike tour in Stockholm (mostly flat) and had so much fun we figured wed take our bikes out of the closet when we got home to the US and start riding. So we shined our bikes up, put on our helmets, went for a ride and realized after 10 minutes why we only had used our ridiculously expensive bikes only a handful of times before......it was because we live in a hilly area and it is such a huge hassle to ride them....simply said... its a real drag. That said, I started looking at electric bikes that could assist when going up a 45 degree angle hill. Im a nut....I do research for literally weeks before I make any significant purchase. I visited a few electric bike stores, test drove and read and watched review after review. Then we cam across Eds eBike store in Tarrytown (not close to our home) - what a difference!! Aside from the huge variety of eBikes he has, he was more knowledgeable than anyone we had met. It seemed to be the perfect place for us to buy our eBikes. Imagine an owner of a store not having any motive to sell you a bike, rather, just listening to what you think you need, gaining understanding and then helping you make the best decision without any pressure at all....thats Ed. Regardless of my thousands of questions, repeating the same ones a few times over, Ed stayed enthusiastic for us...patient...and just wanted us to be thrilled with our final decision. Yup...thats Ed. I can only say, whomever you are, if youre looking for an eBike, even if you dont live close to Eds Sleek eBikes store....you owe it to yourself to visit. We finally purchased our bikes and picked them up yesterday (and of course, Ed gave us detailed lessons on how to use them, as we needed this). Bottom line here is, go there, stop by the great coffee shop a block away, and sip your cappuccino while spending some time with Ed...itll make all the difference in your experience and purchase.
It was years since I had ridden a bicycle and I wasnt sure I would like an eBike. Edward Busk, the owner of Sleek, figured that out quickly, took his time with me, let me ask a million questions, and took me on a 30-minute test ride, which got me hooked. Answered my emails quickly. Never a hard-sell. I rode home on a German-engineered Bulls Lacuba eBike today and Im thrilled with the purchase. I am 6-foot-8 and nearly 270 pounds and the Bulls Lacuba has plenty of power to propel me up the steep hills in the Rivertowns. Plus it looks great and its design doesnt scream eBike, which I like.
Took a bike for a test ride and I was hooked! Really felt it kick in when I turned it on going up hill.
Excellent service, rent electric bicycles
