This company is amazing to work with. Gary was super friendly and responsive. The carpet installers did a fabulous job! From start to finish the job was done super quickly and the price was great. I would definitely recommend this company and plan to use them again.
The owner sold my elderly mother a carpet that she was told would wear very well. It has not worn well it just been 20 months or so and in all of the traffic areas its packed down &lifeless ugly & Expensive. We as a family are upset by his promises of quality, longevity, forced color due to shipping cost. If something else was desired. He took advantage of this old lady.
We went to the showroom and felt like he was looking down at us. He did say he would come give an estimate so we set up a time. He never showed or even called. Very unprofessional. We had a large job that we took elsewhere. I would never do business with this company
Great customer service and even better prices
I shopped around and came back to this place not because of the pricing, but because of the quality and service
Tony was very professional, he knows his products and was able to help us pick a carpet that will work for us. Very pleased with their service!
I loved the Carpet Guys!! Gary was wonderful to work with very knowledgeable, great communication. They did fantastic work and on time. They were very flexible in their scheduling and the price was right. I would recommend them to one and all.
We’ve used the Carpet Guy for our last 2 carpet purchases and we’ve had 2 perfect experiences! Gary was great in helping us pick out a great quality product that was within our budget. We will definitely use the Carpet Guy in the future and would recommend anyone else do the same. It was so very pleasant to go to work and then come home to new carpet .Thank you Carpet Guy.
Slow communication at first. Upgraded my carpet at no charge
They installed vinyl flooring in a bathroom without an underlayment so the floor is one inch lower than the hall carpet. It created a tripping hazard at the top of the stairs. I called the owner, Gary Penrose, and asked him to correct it. All he wanted to do was argue. The owner called me an Ass and hung up. I checked the pad under the carpet they installed. We ordered the best padding but got the cheap stuff. Garys original bid was $650 but he raised the price to $1,150 and got it from my wife.
These guys are terrible. No customer service at all. We had them replace all of the carpet in our home, but 3 months later we had wrinkles showing up in 4 rooms. They would NOT come out and re-stretch it. Flat refused! The dad called my wife some unpleasant names and hung up on her. (BTW, my wife is a very nice person and never uses bad language or threats etc) Too bad the owner does not have any of those qualities. It cost us $375 to have another company re- stretch it
Went in to the store, young man who helped was great. They had transposed our phone number & have been leaving messages elsewhere. Tony called yesterday to explain the confusion & hes already been out here & measured. Im hopeful things will go better going forward.
Carpet was overpriced for quality. Install was ok. Large seam shows in center of family room. Didn’t want to wait to move furniture back in for days so had to live with it. After 7 months carpet in hall rippled and needs to be stretched. I have called 4 times to have it fixed. In the last 5 months I have received one call about coming to fix it that afternoon. I was out of town for work so they said they would call back another day. Guess I’ll have to pay another company to come fix what should have been warrantied.
Fair prices, but... we have had issues with our laminated flooring and despite several phone calls will not come back to fix their poor installation. (The carpet looks nice, but the installation crew did not clean up after themselves - we had to vacuum the whole house).
I LOVE these guys! They are honest, fast, help with financing and just great to work with. Gary is always there to answer questions and give his professional opinion. Carpeting from the bottom floor up, be calling them again soon to finish the upstairs. Highly recommend them, give them a try you wont regret it!
The Carpet Guy gets the 5 star gold rating from us! They were so great to work with and actually seemed to have OUR best interest in mind. The customer service from the showroom to the carpet installation was top notch. They were quick, the cost was great and the quality cant be beat. Our carpet is fabulous! The Carpet Guy was great to work with. Highly recommended!
This is based on my experience from 2 years ago. All I can say is get a written quote from Gary because he tries to throw extra charges at you last minute. The poor guy who installed carpet did great but was all by himself and it took 3 days. Also, we went at 2 PM on a weekday to look at samples and the place was closed because he was out doing an errand. Um, ok.
I changed my review from 1 star to 3. It still took 4 weeks for them to install carpet on my stairs because they kept canceling the appointments. The reason for 3 stars is because it is a good price and the carpet looks nice. If they had done it when promised it would have been 5 stars.
Gary is great to work with. It was a great experience from start to finish. He carpeted our whole basement and it still looks great 6 years later. Gary even sent one of his employees over to restretch our carpet upstairs for free that wasnt even purchased or installed by the carpet guy.
Absolutely the worst customer service ever! They promise to call you back but never do you have to constantly be chasing them down and then the work never gets done cause nobody ever shows up when theyre supposed to they dont even have the courtesy to let the customers with appointments know theyre going to be 7 hrs late or that theyre just not gonna show up I cant believe this place is even in business!
I was worried about going with them because of the bad reviews about installing carpet on time. We had a very easy time setting up the carpet delivery and installation, we even had to change the date twice and both times they treated it like it wasnt a big deal. They have a great selection of carpet, and they dont pull you into buying the expensive carpet, in fact when we were looking at a more expensive carpet they found a cheaper alternative without us even asking.
And dont forget the copy Guy! Tom can take care of all your copy and binding needs
I would recommend people not going here!!
If you read the other reviews, you’ll see that The Carpet Guy is great... as long as you don’t have any problems. That was certainly our experience. Everything started out great: the sales guys were friendly, the owner, Gary, was friendly, the installation went fine, everything seemed to be good. The problem started when I questioned the square yardage we were quoted and billed for. It’s a very long story, but to sum up: Gary made a mistake on how much carpet we needed and we were overcharged. I do believe it was an honest mistake, but he handled the confrontation poorly. I had to be very persistent over multiple days in trying to engage Gary to help me figure out what was going on; and the more I brought it up, the less helpful he became. During our final phone conversation he got fed up, cut me off, wouldn’t answer my questions, accused me of nitpicking, and then hung up on me. I called back immediately to ask why he’d hung up on me, and he wouldn’t answer the phone. A few minutes later he continued the conversation through text, which I considered extremely unprofessional. Since there was no one else I could work with (I called the office and asked), the issue was eventually resolved through text, though not to my complete satisfaction because my questions remained unanswered and Garys behavior left me very hurt and upset. So, great company to work with if there aren’t any problems, but very unprofessional and extremely rude if there are. Gary got annoyed at me for asking questions and not implicitly trusting him, but if I had done that, we would have lost out on a large sum of money and paid for carpet we didn’t need and didn’t receive.
I have used Carpet Guys 3 times now. The men Ive worked with are genuinely helpful, and not pushy at all. Ill go there first from now on!
BEWARE- I had carpet ordered and they were nice enough to hold it for me for a month while completing other work. Carpet installed but no paperwork as to warranty on work, carpet, pad... so called to say I would pay when invoice received. Was accused of being a bad person for not paying without getting paperwork/warranty first- knowing that no warranty would be upheld if I paid first. Apparently the customer is not right with this business and I still have not received any invoice-despite paying one month ago. Very disappointing. The reason given was owner on a cruise-returned 12/5-still no invoice/warranty, despite additional follow up call two weeks ago.
Gary was easy to work with was reasonably priced and his guys came out ripped up the old carpet install the new carpet and I get my whole house a brand-new look
Carpet is a little expensive but the customer service made me want to come here anyway. Excellent!
Nice place with alot of options to buy from.
Great place to get carpet with great installers
Worst communication and follow up. Late for warranty appointment, didnt follow up (said installers would call to fix issue) and has not returned call or text in over a week. August is when flooring installed, issue given to Manager Mid April and Nothing done or communicated as of May 13th. Took business to RC Willey for second home, Carpet Guy lost 5k in business just for not honoring warranty. Beware!! #smallclaims #flakey
I just called their main telephone number (the 417-5600 #), and the kid who answered the phone was incredibly rude to me. Before I could even ask him my first question, he cut me off mid sentence and hung up on me! Ive never experienced such deplorable customer service, and I wouldnt recommend these people to ANYONE based on merely that alone. Im not even typically concerned with the quality of a businesss customer service, but the Carpet Guys is SO horrible, that it merits a comment and review.
