I have been working with owner Mike West and his great staff for over 10 years. As a landscape designer/builder, BBQs & Outdoor Kitchens are the number one most requested items in backyard landscape. The variety and quality of products as well as great customer service are unmatched here in the valley. BBQ Island has been a tremendous resource and partner to our business and they stand solidly behind everything they sell. Their business has been helping my business for years and we are very grateful.

After about two months of detailed research and visiting virtually every outdoor cooking website on the Internet, I was very happy to have arrived at BBQ Island. Their website was the best to navigate, had the most comprehensive product selection, the best prices and customer service that went above and beyond. I ended up ordering a full line of Twin Eagles products along with a couple of Marvel outdoor refrigerators. Everything was delivered in a timely fashion and in perfect condition. I will definitely be using them for all of my future needs. Here is a picture of the Twin Eagles 36 grill about to be installed :-)

Great store. Even though they did not have what I needed I have to give them 5 stars as they have such a great stock of really cool barbeque grills, smokers and accessories. Perfect spot to find gifts for that hard to shop for guy!!!!! Ill be back!!!

If you BBQ, you will need to know about this place. Great place for wood chips and large selection of sauces and rubs is just the start. They got it all The Green Egg and all that goes with them. Traeger small to their new line of insulated smoker grills. Parts they have parts and cooking utensils and so much more.

These guys have been amazing to work with.I purchased a camp chef woodwind and the thing hasn’t worked since I got it a year ago. Issues started right off the bat with the actual smoker itself. The smoker wouldn’t go over 250 degrees, it would burn through bags of pellets, if you opened the door it would drop 30+ degrees and not ever get back to the correct temperature, startups were inconsistent where it would start immediately and sometimes it would take 3-4 cycles. In working with camp chef customer service, they sent out multiple thermometers, control hubs and a full new hopper. After hours spent on the product, it was time to throw in the towel and Camp Chef simply said, “try and get your money back from the person you bought it from.” They gave up and let it rest on BBQ island which really isn’t their problem BUT the staff at BBQ Island has been absolutely unbelievable and took the task on themselves to get a solution figured out. They ended up getting me a full refund and had it not been for them, Camp Chef would have just stuck me with it.APPRECIATE YOU AND GREAT WORK BBQ ISLAND!!!!

Amazing showroom with so many great brands to compare. Both Brads are very knowledgeable and helpful - this was a huge upgrade for us (finally building the dream outdoor BBQ/kitchen) and they took a lot of time explaining things. And again with their Customer Service when we had an issue with some damage from packaging, Harmony was so kind and friendly and took care of everything! I am beyond impressed and would highly recommend BBQ Island in Tempe for all your outdoor cooking needs! We may just keep going back to find fun accessories so we can say hi :)

Wonderful employees and store! My husband had been wanting to purchase a Traeger for years! When they came out with their new smoker this year, he finally decided to purchase one. We visited this place since it was a Traeger platinum dealer. They have a HUGE selection of grills and accessories. The gentleman that assisted us was very friendly and gave us some tips on what we could cook in our new smoker. We will be back here again for all our pellets and seasonings!

Great place to shop with great people who are very knowledgeable on BBQ and cooking.First off, this business is in a mall setting and is easy to find with plenty of parking.Walking inside you are greeted with all things BBQ. They have really amazing people that work there that are friendly, knowledgeable, kind and fun to work with. There is a real passion here, so dont be afraid to ask for suggestions or advice.Selection is amazing - everything from built in propane grills, free standing grills, pizza ovens, Traegers, charcoal grills to accessories, rubs, charcoal, lump charcoal, spices and sauces. One could really get in trouble here with all they carry... or maybe really make some amazing food at home.We bought a Traeger here and the process couldnt be easier. Even loading the grill into our SUV was seamless and they helped with that and made sure everything was secured and fit inside.All in all I cant recommend this store highly enough and would encourage everyone to check this place out, especially people just getting into the hobby / lifestyle such as ourselves.

I Purchased a pellet smoker from BBQ Island and couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The store is very neat and organized and has an unbeatable selection of grills, smokers, bbq equipment/accessories. I honestly have not found another storefront that is comparable. Prices were competitive and fair and I will always go here rather than order online from a website like Amazon. This is largely because of the knowledge and superb customer service I have always experienced while at the store with all of the employees whether they be up front or in the warehouse. They are also a great resource for Recipes and recommendations!

Go there for my pellets, rubs, bought my grill there. The accessories are usually cheaper than Amazon. Had to stop and get a pizza peel today. Again, cheaper than amazon.

Stick burners, kamado’s, pellets, pizza ovens, German high searing grills, outdoor refrigerators, fireplaces, outdoor heaters, outdoor speakers.Every time I recommend them to a friend, I’ll get a call thanking me. I have been going to BBQ island TEMPE for years now. The staff is excellent and have always been so helpful with everything I’ve needed from the right rub to taking the time to talk me thru my first brisket. The owner Mike spent day after day of me coming in and pestering him about the right grill for me.That was my first pellet smoker i bought five years ago, and it’s still running strong with help from Mike and his team. As a first time customer, I am very impressed with the helpful staff and overall quality of service at BBQ Island. Communication has been outstanding from the day I placed the online order throughout delivery of my new Hestan outdoor grill. The grill was crated very well and arrived fully assembled in excellent condition. The driver arrived on time, offloaded the grill using a pallet jack and wheeled it into my garage. After uncrating and firing it up, it was immediately evident that the Hestan is an extremely high-quality grill, built with attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. This place is my favorite adult candy store to not only see new grilling and smoking equipment but tasting new rubs and sauces is always a highlight. The staff is top notch and know all their products well. A lot of them call me by name and direct me to what is new to the store which reminds which reminds me of the customer service from days past.I have bought a lot of rubs and a couple smokers and even my go to Green Mountain Grill with Pizza Oven attachment. I highly recommend all of the 3 locations for your grilling and BBQ needs.

I bought a smoker for Father’s Day from BBQ Island. The employee helping me was very knowledge and helpful during the sale. Possibly the best place in the Phoenix area where you can by virtually all level of smokers, pellet grills, high end BBQ island components, fireplace components and accessories. Ive found Mike, the owner, and his team to be very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I just purchased a Pellet Grill from them, late in the day on Sunday. Steve, the manager, made sure that the grill was delivered to my home the same day. Great service! If youre looking for quality grills, smokers, and accessories, these guys will take great care of you.

I have been shopping at BBQ Island for more than two years now. The staff there has always been very helpful and friendly (which is why I continue to go back). I have found their prices there to be very similar to other BBQ stores around. At first, you might think that the prices are high, but when you research what they carry and what you get for your money...they are right on target (as far as grills and smokers go). The prices on their rubs and sauces (when comparing apples to apples) are very similar in price to stores. What I like about BBQ Island is that they can help guide me to rubs and/or sauce pending the type of meat that I am cooking. Other places that I have gone to had absolutely no clue what the differences were. Ultimately, the difference for me has been the way they treat me at BBQ Island. Its like I am a member of their family. Thanks BBQ Island and I look forward to many more great shopping experiences.

The products are amazing, however the customer service is lacking. We walked in knowing exactly what we wanted and it felt as though we were treated as an inconvience because we werent buying the top of the line products. We are first time smoker buyers and decided to invest in their drum smoker. Loved the product itself but got the feeling they thumb their nose at smaller sales. Nothing horrendous occurred during our visit, it just was very get us out of the way feeling.

As a BBQ enthusiast finding a store like this is tough in Phoenix considering the BBQ culture in this city is not what it is as in other states like Texas, Missouri, North/South Carolina, Oklahoma etc. I grew up in Chicago and there having a cook out or BBQ was an event, BBQ Island offers everything to make it such. Also I genuinely enjoy supporting Small Businesses and BBQ Island is definitely a small business with specialty items and knowledge. They have even special ordered a product for me in the past that I could not find anywhere else in Phoenix. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to build an Outdoor Kitchen or are in need of a pellet or charcoal smoker. Glad I found them.

I stopped in to BBQ Island last year to purchase accessories and items for an outdoor island. The staff was really helpful - beyond what I expected, and we were really pleased with the quality of our purchase. But - thats not whats making me write this review. Whats making me write is that a year after our purchase, the handle to our drop-in ice bin went missing. I searched on-line to try and find the handle, with no luck. When I called the store to get an item number - not only did they find the handle, but they offered to send it to my home at no cost. What amazing customer service! They just earned a repeat and loyal customer.

Purchased a grill for my husbands birthday. Sure, they sold it to me at an inflated price and Some assembly required. Mediocre service. Salesman was too busy paying attention to his phone to care about the only customer that just walked into the store.I drove home to assemble it. Wouldnt it make a nice surprise for the husband after work. Wouldnt you know it - No bolts or washers. No casters. And now Im expected to make the 60 minute round trip to return the already opened box, which the salesman was so quick to assure me that everything was present and accounted for.And will my husband have a lovely new grill to come home to as a birthday present?You know the answer to that.

This is by far the best bbq store in the valley. The staff here is always so knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Everyone always wants to talk about what and how you’re grilling to help give you tips to perfect your grilling techniques. They have an extensive selection of spices, rubs and sauces to choose from. I make it a point to stop by at least once a week to pick up a new seasoning or just to see what new things they have brought in. I highly recommend stopping by to check these guys out. They rock!!

Wow really disappointed! Its Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving at 4:45 pm and they are already closed. The hours clearly state 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Friday. I came to purchase a turkey fryer and wood pellets. I guess business is so good they can afford to close when they want. Ill take my business some where else and I wont be back again.

I cook a lot of BBQ, compete in BBQ competitions, and just generally love BBQ. Ive been to a lot of BBQ stores around the country. None of the stores Ive been to can match the inventory, knowledge, and selection offered by BBQ Island. Everyone is extremely friendly and always willing to give advice. If youre looking for a new rub or seasoning to try, youre free to sample just about everything they have in stock.Pricing is in line or even better than products of same/similar quality at other stores. Those complaining about price are likely comparing the high end quality products at BBQ Island with low end products youd pick up at a big home improvement store. Ive bought a few different grills and smokers (to accommodate increased cooking needs), rubs, sauces, and gadgets from here and dont plan on buying from anywhere else if I can help it.

Wow... I have never seen so many grills and smokers. The only place I found that would honor the extended Green Mountain Grill sale price and HAD the grill in stock. Then I saw the warehouse.. Double wow.

I like this store so much I usually make an appearance once per week. I have a competition bbq team and this store is a great reason why we have had a little bit of success. If you want the best product at a reasonable price then this is your place. Also the staff is very friendly and always willing to answer your questions or take time with you to buy even the items as small as rubs and sauce. This staff has the best knowledge of all things BBQ in the west and just being in this store will improve your skills as a BBQ cook. They routinely interact with their customers to find out what we want to see in their store. They are at the center of what I consider to be the local BBQ society, which are all part of the best people you will ever meet. I was in a pinch the day before Thanksgiving because my thermometer broke. This is the only store around that sells Thermoworks products. This seems like THE store to go to for all things grilling and barbecue.

The staff is actually good and I have used them for many years, but you have to be honest about a product and I bought a product that was supposed to be the best. I was sold a Memphis Grill, top of the line and very expensive pellet grill. I was told Traeger grills were junk and this was 10 times better. Well it is a 100 times worse, the probes dont work, the WiFi is not stable, support from the company is poor and it wont even cook a brisket. So now I own a $3500 paper weight that my island has been modified to fit, and I just wish I had my $350 Treager back!!!

They show an online price for a pellet grill but wont honor it in the store. Wont do raincheck or offer something comparable.

On 2/3/14 I came in to get some expert advice on the Memphis Pros vs Mak Generals pellet grills. However, I spent an entire hour in there with no help at all trying to figure out things for myself. Somebody was working on a built-in grill so I asked him if I could see a Mak 2 star, but he said simply, We dont have any of those now. Ok, that is fine. So when are you going to get some in? Cant you place one on backorder? If I am interested in buying, wouldnt the owner of this company want someone to be proactively helping me? Anyways, he didnt do any of this and went back to working on one of the grills. The other rep on the floor seemed mostly interested in sharing BBQ stories with someone that came in to just talk. I patiently waited with my son for that client to finish buying his rub. Then someone else started hanging out and just chatting with the sales rep again. All I needed was basic customer service; someone to ask what I wanted and that they would be with me in x minutes. The last thing you want to do as a customer is pull teeth to get someone to help you that never made any effort to help you from the start. They do have a great selection, and some incredible grills that you cant see anywhere else in the city. However, within that 1 hour, I couldve been informed and bought the pellet grill of my choice. I will bring my business somewhere else where I dont have to waste my time

I stopped in Sunday afternoon and was in their for over 30 minutes without one associate asking me if I needed any help. There were 3 standing at the register BSing. When I finally said forget it to my girlfriend and we were walking out the door, one of them said thanks for coming and that was the most they said to me.
