Went today to try it out with friends. We ordered 1 pizza, 2 tater tots, 2 orders of sliders, 2 salads, Brussels sprouts, and one ale. Everything came at different times, no rhyme or reason to it. Pizza and salads were good, sliders were not good. Plain no nothing on them??? These are mini buns yet the burger is no bigger than the size of a half dollar coin. Dry and not worth $15 bucks at all. Our one beer spilled and we were able to find someone who got a towel to sopIt up. Another beer was to be brought. We kind of forgot about it when we finished eating and B at the car decided it was an oh well situation one beer paid for but none to drink. At home we discovered, as we looked over our bill of 100$+ that the Brussels sprouts were never brought to us either.First and last visit for us.
This was my first time here at Tarantula Hill Brewery Co and had an amazing experience, the place is really nice has really cool front patio and dogs are allowed here too. The beer were really good and their food was really good as well, they got delicious pizza 🍕 !!! I had the Goat arugula pizza and the spicy chicken sandwich both were amazing and love the pizza crust. The staff here are amazingly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and Ill be back soon.
This place has all the tasty treats!Craft beer made in house here in Thousand Oaks, hand made Ice cream ( 12+ flavors always available)Hand tossed pizza, huge Bulgarian pretzels, sandwiches and street food. They are also doing family style meal deals right now. Which is a great way to support a local business. They have loads of great merch too. Can’t wait till we can all go back to normal and dine in but til then, their great food and drinks can be on my home dinner table.
Visiting the brother in law in Cali and we went to Tarantula Hills Brewing Company for lunch and Yum!!Killer house made beers on tap with an order via app at the table system. Nice big menu with a wide range of food options.Bright and clean, open space with a ton of tap options, to go four packs and crowlers with an IPA heavy lean.I had the sliders with bacon and a horse radish sauce. BIL had a BLAT (Bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato). Sliders were juicy and well appointed and when I smeared a little blue cheese dressing on as well….Hefeweizen for me and blonde ale for BIL to start. Both had Golden Ales as seconds. Dynamite.Brought home a four pack of Liquid Candy IPA and two Crowlers of Raga Porter. Only had the Porter so far but it’s good. Coffee undertones, rich but not too heavy. Very Good. Here’s the breakdown:Great food +1 star; mistake free if slightly impersonal serving system +1 star; hearty BLAT +1 star; excellent beer +1 star; to go crowlers +1 star.A place I would see myself going to often if I lived here.
The place looks cool when driving past, plenty of tables outdoors facing the street. It totally lacks human touch. You find a table, scan the code, and then you’re asked to provide credit card details and an access code before you can even look at the menu. It proved too much of a tech challenge for us two guys in their 50s. Beers were good and came out promptly, but the absence of a server actually promoting and selling and explaining their offerings seems sadly disconnected from humanity.
Four stars for the beer & the vibe, only. The food is generic and subpar, particularly because of the exorbitant price.Their beer is good. They have a pretty good selection of their own taps as well as guests. I’ve been coming here since their soft opening and I can tell you the beer keeps me coming back and the venue itself is amazing. Seriously nothing like this in the area. The food is where this place lacks. They have a large menu with things that sounds expensive and are priced accordingly, but literally everything I’ve gotten here has fallen short. I admit I’m not a good critic, but it’s just bland. It’s a shame because I feel like if they dedicated themselves to a few items they could kill it, but they don’t, and they spread themselves too thing, and as such everything here is mediocre. It won’t be the worse meal you’ll eat, but it’ll leave you wondering why you paid so much for getting so little.
Been coming here since opening day and really want to keep coming here but think we’re done. Showed up on Labor Day around 2 expecting it to be busy. What I didn’t expect was unorganized chaos. There was a sign out front saying wait to be seated but there was nobody at the door to seat us. As we waited I watched people just walk in and sit down. All I saw was a bartender and some people cooking food. There didn’t appear to be any other staff helping out. I don’t know. We waited about 10 minutes then left. Won’t be going back.I get staffing levels are taxed right now. I get it. But this place has never had full service yet charge like they do. You have to do everything but clear your own table yet I pay the same prices as many other full service restaurants around town. I want to support local businesses but this place is making it impossible. The food is always good but the portions are small which makes me feel like I’m not getting value for my hard earned money. On top of what appears to be a pretty arrogant staff and management acting as if they’re the only game in town means I’ll just have to check these guys off my list.
This establishments drinks and food are great. However, you can tell the workers here are extremely unhappy and a bit stressed.I was able to overhear a brief conversation between two employees who were talking about how their tip pool was being cut again for a third time, and how it was being split unfairly. This place is amazing on the outside, but if a business is treating its bartenders unfairly, I wont be frequenting this business no longer. I suggest anyone who supports a fair work environment to do the same. At the end of the day the workers are the backbone to a good business.
Had a friend recommend stopping by here and I was not disappointed! Their beer and food selection are great and your can even bring your dog on the patio. The atmosphere was fun and inviting!
The staff and the food were perfect for our friends party. It was so nice getting such a well serviced event in this new world. The kids loved the ice cream and the group had plenty of space.I highly recommend having your events at Tarantula Hill in 2021!
Good service. Food was tasty and a good beer/drink selection. Try the chicken tacos. They were delicious. Very large place with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Laid back and friendly atmosphere.
Large brewery with good food options and easy/fast ordering from your table through their QR code menu system. The chicken burrito I had was really good. I recommend the Sierra Hotel beer.
Just a corporate chain feel. The hazy IPAs feel syrupy. Its fine, and theres plenty of outdoor seating, but Ill skip this in the future.
Honestly, I dont see what all the fuss is about. The outdoor seating is pleasant, but you go up to order, they bring your order to the table, but you never see anyone again for refills, utensils or whatever. Our table was not cleaned when we sar down and the server literally cleaned half of the table and not very well. The $15. Burger was just ok. The BBQ chicken pizza was also not impressive at $16, the crust limp and undercooked. Ambience, they do have that. Oh, and in spite of a face mask mandate, a little more than half of all people who arrived after we did, were not masked and went unchallenged.
Had the sliders and their Dark IPA brew. Excellent combination. Bar Tender was knowledgeable and suggested food. Clean establishment with vast areas to sit.
Fantastic beer, really nice crew, great architecture. Thats a place I would like to spend more time if I could.
The host, bartenders, and servers were great. We got a pretzel and the cheese is came with was not a favorite but the Dijon Mustard was on point. We ordered a margarita pizza and it was pretty good. Their candy IPA was SO good. Definitely going back!
Thousand Oaks has needed a place like this for some time. Great selection of beers, food and Ice Creams. Great open space both indoors and outdoors!
1 hr to get food order complete no compensation offered, had to chase down a server to check on my order after 45min and not even drinks had been served. Not good service.Piza was good burrito was Asada was mostly beans with some small peices of burnt meat. Not woth $16
Yummy and the Blood Orange Wit was awesome. Pizzas really good. Soup wasnt great and sliders were good but bland. Overall great experience. Back/yard dining looked awesome.
Wow this place has gone downhill. You order with an app and never see your server but for the second they drop off the food. Meal service was 45 mins between the first and last plate. Anything extra we asked for was forgotten. No refills no check ins. Terrible service.
This is a locally popular bar and restaurant. They have a brewery and serve good beer, barbecue and pizza.Their products are very tasty, but overall they are a bit salty.Their shop is still open, but its a popular shop, so youll have to wait an hour and a half to get a meal. You can also eat and drink in the store.I recommend arriving at the store earlier than the opening time.
We had a large (birthday) party. The staff was excellent. Great beer selections and food!
Service is survival of the fittestHad to fight for everything needed to enjoy the time.Seating was not great, asked for help several times and was ignoredGot a take it or leave it message from all staff encounters. But that’s what happens when young employees are in charge. Asking for utensils was like asking for a favor.
The vision and creativity of the owners/operators of T-Hill shows through every aspect of the brewery. The design of the building, patio, and interior are beautiful. The variety of beers they brew (and also get from other breweries) is amazing. The food is creative, fun, and delicious. Lastly, I think it is safe to say they have the best ice cream in town.
The food was pretty good, but the portions were small and it all felt a little overpriced. Beer selection is great if you love IPAs but we dont and theres a limited selection of non-IPA beers.
Tarantula brewing was amazing! Service and people were great! One thing, food amounts were great be careful when ordering..portions were good size and enough to share..
Good beer. DJ was horrible. I’d recommend drinking in your garage and listening to nails in the blender. Honestly, get some take home beers.
T. Hill is the total package. Lots of seating, a great place to meet up with friends. Every beer is solid. They even have wine and kombucha for the non beer drinkers in the group. And best of all, most people expect mediocre food at a brewery. Thats not the case here. I havent ordered a meal there that wasnt great.
Love love love this place. This is our favorite family outing and we cant wait until it opens back up when the covid restrictions are lifted. Nothing better than having a draft beer outside with one of their delicious menu items, I think by this time I have tried most of the menu and can rave about it all! Very good for me
This review is for the beer only. I havent tried the food as the restaurant side just reopened but beer is excellent. They do not distribute much yet so you have to go to the brewery to get 4 packs. Try the Grade if you like heavy, dark and delicious brews or their Paradise Falls IPA. Lots to choose from and very nice location with lots of open space
They really need to figure out a more efficient way to serve beer….it’s a painfully slow process. Five people behind the bar, only onePerson pouring—-every time I visit. It’s a chokehold.
Visited during their soft opening. This place is going to be a hit. Great location with plenty of seating. Dog friendly on the huge outdoor patio. Pizza, coffee, and ice cream on the menu, plenty for everyone. We had a local beer and the Goat Cheese and Arugula pizza with Bacon. Amazing. Excited to come back soon.
Delicious brews and great food. They now have mobile ordering at your table, this is a great feature and our party had an enjoyable experience
Great menu and food. Extensive selection of beer. Wish they had beer flights, to get several selections at one seating.
The service was great. All employees wore masks, and were very friendly (especially with the big group I was with). They came out in a timely manner with food and brought water to me and my coworkers. Parking is a bit harder to find, but I found some street parking that was just a five-minute walk away.
Great carnivore pizza...and bought 5 crawlers of Tarantula Imperial Stout! Yes, it was that good!
Fresh beers, variety of tasty food, relaxing atmosphere and respectful staff.
Friendly crowd, good food, original local brew for refreshment. Wish they offered full table service. Too complicated purchase process.
Food is great! Beer is good. Huge place. Dog friendly.
Beers, pizza, ice cream... YES! This is a really happening place, particularly when Covid-19 is not restricting access. Their beers are great, and you can actually order them online, and go pick up in store. Hopefully when the summer rolls around, they will be able to open the facility to normal operations, as the in-person nature of a brewery is a big part of the appeal.
The beer is great as was the food. So far I have tried the meat pizza, and surf & turf burrito. Both were excellent. They have outdoor seating in front and back.
A nice big space with good food and beer.
The ordering process is weird and cumbersome. Food and beverages are pricey but good. Large covered patio was great on the 91 degree day I was there with friends.
Really nice outdoor seating area, very comfortable, great brew and good solid bar food.
Surf and Turf burrito is legit, ceviche could have been a little more fresh. Beer was delicious!
Excellent service and the food was awesome and I meet the chef and half of the team their are great and chef was nice and really professional and he was great!!
TH has done a good job organizing the area to social distance and abide by state guidelines. I would go here for a quick chat and drink. For sports fans, I would not recommend given the lack of TVs and the seating arrangements are hit or miss.
Really good reuben sandwich. The beer is not too bad either.
Great food atmosphere and of course beer
Good beer. Only eaten there once but great chicken sandwich. Great social distancing. Ate/drank outside. Nice employees.
I recommend the beer.Online ordering onsite is cooler than I thought it would be.
Great place, first time there .The host walked us through the details, very friendly. Great beer. Good food.Slow some extra time to relax and enjoy beers. I liked the mi tai .👍
25 min between first and last meal delivery to get a single order
Everything was good, but it is apparent when you take the human factor out of ordering problems will occur. Hence only 3 stars.
Great Beer, Great Food, Amazing Atmosphere
Since theyve opened every planned opportunity to visit was canceled for one reason or another. But yesterday we celebrated a milestone event here during the pandemic with some great friends. Im sure it wasnt the normal experience I was looking forward to having for several months. But it was distanced from others, and still a great atmosphere to have a celebration! 🍾
The good:Very nice experience. The pizza was delicious! There was PLENTY of seating. We were there for hours. I didn’t see any signage that there was limited time for seating. Was too full to try the ice cream that looked delicious. The bad: They are terrible at answering the phone and never did return my call. Apparently they don’t clear off the tables until you are COMPLETELY done and ready to leave. I would imagine parking would be a problem on the weekend as like most places they have set up additional tables in the back.
Amazing custom beer selection. Great food, they even have ice cream they make. Pair that with a great atmosphere and really happy and kind staff all adds up to a great time. Will be going there many more times with friends and the family.
Great Beer and good food! Nice employees but not the best service. Slow and forgot a ring up some of our items.
Great service, great food, great selection of brews. Always enjoy the visit!!!
The asada tacos were very good. The beers werent bad either but i was not a fan of the thousand oaks blonde. The IPA selection was fantastic though.
Big old spot, big old beer menu, big ol pizza oven. This place is going to be the spot round these here parts. All they need is maybe a few games like them cornholio tosser bags. It’s like Stonehaus with Beer! Now the rest of TO Blvd needs to build around this and become what it was always meant to be! Out with the A1Carpets and in with the pubs and eateries.
The menu has expanded! Still eating their pizza though..... Neer selections include their own brand, plus other local breweries. Crowded on a Friday night! Love it!
A good place to go for a few cold beers.
Very noisy, place was dirty, food was...so, so!
They have a great set up and atmosphere, the service was prompt and we really like the Blood Orange. Our food was good overall too.
Great atmosphere, good food.
Great place for beers and food good prices and representing Thousand Oaks.
Interesting cherry stout. A little tart, but good. Nice setting, lots of outdoor seating.
Tasty beverages - Thousand Oaks Blond and the Hazy. Food is delicious for brewery cuisine. The staff is courteous, friendly, knowledgeable.
No one picks up calls here... no matter what hours, traveling from a distance, its unfortunate that the operator day or night says they close at midnight on Saturdays for the last week, yet, we get there they say closed 2 hours early.Professional either pick up your calls or update the hours on your website OR phone calls.... not a big customer service responsibility.I usually give 5 star ratings.... says something about running a business.
Food was good, beer excellent. We felt very safe there.
Nice atmosphere. Went for my bday...put in front..fine...much better vibe out back. Felt age stereotyping
I really like this place since it opened but the last few times I was there during Covid times they had a 90 minute time limit on eating there and sometimes that’s not enough. They said it was a county law which isn’t true and they came and asked us to leave even though there were several empty tables so I feel like they’re just trying to throw their weight around and they weren’t all that nice to us they kind of acted like we were lucky they were open and serving us. I definitely liked it before Covid so I’m hoping they relax a little bit. Disappointed in a place that started out so well.
All the folks are very friendly. They set up several seating areas under canopies in the back, which gives people plenty of space for social distancing. The beer and food is delicious
Beer is great, wings and tacos great found their pizza are a little on the burn side on bottom but the dough was not cook thru
Great brewery. Good food
It was a great place. Would definitely visit again
Even in social distancing, still a great and safe place to go to
Brick oven pizza, ice cream and a brewery with awesome beer... does it get any better? Huge covered deck thats dog and kid friendly. Chill California vibe with ample seating. Well absolutely be back.
Good food, good beer, fun times.
Cool venue. Good food and beer
Im not sure how this place was pre- covid-19 (I heard insanely crowded) but it was really easy to get in, no line just a short wait to be seated and the tables are very spaced out making you feel comfortable to keep your mask off and relax with a drink. Patio area is really nice on a good weather day and plenty of food offerings and even a coffee bar.
Cool new brewery, big patio, nice that they feature a lot of guest taps to keep a wide variety. Good pizza, they can customize if you ask even though it wasn’t listed as an option. They also have ice cream although I forgot to get any.
A cavernous pit with party atmospheres. Unique beers and many younger generation but all are clearly welcome. Fun place and a good vibe. Definitely stop here.
