Our car broke down on our way to Kentucky, we came there on a recommendation. Lady was rude and insulting “You’re going to lose the car anyway.” We left, the manager came after my friend threatening physical harm because we were “disrespectful” to her. We just needed help so we can get back on the road, and we didn’t get kindness from strangers.Reading other reviews from other platforms, it’s very clear that this is a locals only establishment.PS We found someone that diagnosed it as a cooling system issue. You lost potential business because you were unkind and not empathetic. And rude.
On vacation and truck broke down. Had to check out of hotel in a few hours and head 5 hours home. The diagnosis was the radiator. They got us back on the road in about 3 hours and took our warranty paperwork and we’re so kind. Highly recommend!!
These guys are the most phenomenal service in town!! They are upfront and honest and are not the ones that will just sugarcoat by saying you have something minor when you need an urgent repair. They may be up on their prices depending on the repair, but they take the time to actually look and diagnose an accurate issue and take time to work on the vehicle and take care of their customers! Couldn’t have asked for better service!!
On Thursday March 2nd while traveling north from Southern Florida I experienced a loss of my braking system. After notifying my road side service they immediately went to work finding a garage that could receive me and get me back onto the 1000 miles of roadway that I still had before me.Enter Grimes Auto Service. Not only did they get to me right away - but they were waiting for the tow truck to arrive. (This was certainly NOT due to their lack of business, as even the truck driver expressed concern that the business looked too busy to take on another vehicle) - this however, was not the case.My entire experience with Grimes was 5 star. They treated me with the up most respect (which once again, being a solo female traveler in an unfamiliar area dealing with auto issues can be any womans nightmare.)Heather in the office area was a real joy to converse with (during my 5 hour stay with Grimes) - she even offered to go out and get me lunch, as there were no eating establishments in the immediate area. The rest of the crew, including the owner kept me informed throughout the period as to what my problems were, solutions and possible potential future troubles. And in the event that lack of my correct parts or potential problems further hindered the repair - Heather had already offered to get me to a local hotel for the night.Their prices were very fair, their work very good and their care of their customers excellent (as I witnessed many coming in and out during my stay.) The best compliment that I can pay these folks is that if my daughter were in the same situation I would want this family business to be the ones to help her out.Thank you Grimes Auto Service of Tifton GA.
Traveling from Iowa to Florida and our a/c quits working. We called ahead from the interstate to see if they could fit us in. They said they could but werent sure how long it might take.We got there and they got us in actually pretty quickly even though they were very busy. The receptionist put cartoons on for our toddler and was very friendly.Had a clog and needed new freon and a charge. We were expecting to be charged an arm and a leg given the fact we were from out of state and kind of ruined this guys day by putting him behind on his other work by accommodating us.We were pleasantly surprised by the bill! Reasonable to downright cheaper than we would have been charged at home. The a/c works great now too! Excellent service all around. Highly recommended!
Our truck broke down on the side of i75 and out tow truck driver reccommended this shop. They were so very accommodating and had our fuel pump replaced within 2 hours!! If you know anything about automotive repair, that is a great turn around time!! Its family owned and operated and both Chris and his wife were very personable! I also anticipated the price to be about twice what it was! Thanks again guys!!!
Thank you for taking care of my husband today...he had an emergency on the highway and you were professional ...had him taken care of quickly! Thank you again!!
Very friendly service couldn’t ask for better I was in a really bad bind with flat tire and they helped me out perfectly and worked with my financial situation and even did more than I asked! Would definitely recommend going here for any problem you have with your vehicle!
My fuel pump went out as I was traveling South for Christmas. They were busy and I had a full tank of gas, which makes this job a pain in the butt. Everyone there understood that I had traveled 600 miles from him and had about 300 left to go, they let me hang out at the shop and even dropped me off & picked me back up at the hotel the next day. They were very friendly and fixed my car Tip top.
My family uses Grimes for all their cars (thats a lot). When I have randomly priced them against other mechanics (like the dealership and other people in town), they come in at $30 to $60 less than other places. Use them. For everything they will do. Theyre helpful, honest, and fairly priced.
My SUV stopped running about 35 miles from Tifton. I called a friend who said to take it to Grimes Auto. I had AAA tow it and the team at Grimes went to work immediately.I felt very comfortable leaving my Dodge with them. They are a family business with a state of the art facility. I highly recommend them.
These people are crooks.First of all, they were in a hurry to close early on a Wednesday at about 4:30.They charged my poor mother $66 for a fuel filter on a 2002 chevy blazer and told her that the trouble might be the distributor cap and that would be about $150. A fuel filter is about $15 retail max. and takes 10 minutes to put on, so they double charged her. A cap and rotor is about $36 retail max. and takes about 20 minutes. So they are going to more than double that charge I guess.Well, they did get her in and got the fuel filter done. Worthy of 1 star.If you break down here, have it towed to another service center.
Very nice people and so helpful. We are from Apopka Florida and got a bad tire, they didnt even hesitate to help us. We are thankful for them.
I trust Grimes Auto with our cars. Since moving to town, theyve serviced the three autos weve owned in that time. They are reasonably priced and they know what theyre doing. I wouldnt go anywhere else unless I had to.
Great place to get your car or truck repaired or aligned. They stand behind the work they do.
They installed some aftermarket lights and did a great job. I am very picky and they are the best in Tifton without question.
I went in for an alignment after I replaced the ball joints on my truck and about 2 hours later I got a call and they said the entire front end was worn out and needed to be replaced. The funny part about this is its September now and everything on the front end has been replaced since Christmas. So this quote was almost 4000 and included parts that had been replaced just days before on it. So I went and got my truck and took it to another shot to get another opinion and they had no problems with an alignment and I showed them the quote I got from grimes and they just laughed and said once a crook always a crook. I am a college student here in tifton at ABAC and to me it seems that they are just a bunch of crooks and if they think that they can take advantage of you because they think that you dont know any better they will sure as hell try todo that. Oh yeah and to top it all off they charged me 35 todo absolutely nothing.
They are pricey but everyone is certified and your car is fixed with no new issue like some places. They really went above and beyond on an issue for me and have done work several times. Honest and solid job.
After breaking down in I75 on a road trip, these folks were able to get me back on the road within a day. They know what they are doing.
Family owned business with great mechanics. When the work is done here you know its done right.
We were driving through southern Georgia on Spring Break when one of our party rear-ended another car. We soon started leaking coolant and were able to make it to Grimes at about 4:10 on a Friday afternoon (the Chrysler dealership down the road told us over the phone there was no way they could work us in till Monday). We explained our situation to the owner and his son (Gary and Chris) - we were on our way from Indiana to southern Florida. They looked the car over and were able to hammer the hood and the radiator back into place and replace the hose which caused the leak - luckily the radiator itself was not damaged. We were back on the road around 5:30 and I think they charged us $135. It was dumb luck (or divine intervention) as we simply googled auto repair and they happened to be the closest place (very near the interstate) but this place saved us from spending the weekend in Georgia waiting to get our car repaired. We made it to Florida and back without any further problems. As if this wasnt enough to make me realize this was a top notch place, while we were waiting for our repairs to be done a steady flow of local customers were coming in to pick up their cars (it being the end of the day). They were all highly complimentary of Grimes and it had the feel of a real small town repair shop where locals all take their cars.
