Great find here in Topeka! My mother in law has been in town and is gluten free. We walked in and purchased and assortment of cupcakes and the frozen chocolate chip cookie dough. While we were there, I ordered a cake for by daughter’s birthday the following weekend. The associates were amazing, and that customer service only continued when we picked up the beautiful cake. I was asked so many questions and given so many suggestions, the cake turned out perfect. I highly recommend Shana Cakes-whether or not you have an allergy or intolerance. It was just an amazing experience!!

The cupcakes were delicious! So excited to find a bakery my whole family could enjoy (son has a peanut allergy). We bought a couple extra to bring home with us too! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The best place in Topeka, Kansas for allergy-friendly treats. There are not many options for those of us with allergies and food sensitivities in the Midwest, but this place is wonderful. My entire family loves the goodies here, especially the cinnamon rolls. I’m very grateful for the joy this bakery has brought me, along with the opportunities to be included at the table where I wasn’t before, due to lack of options. Shana Cake, you are doing great work. Called SC on 12/26/18 on my hubbys birthday and ordered a simple 6 inch vanilla cake, I was told it would take 48 hours for the cake to be ready. The young lady who took my order asked what time I wanted to pick it up, I told her around 2 or 3, so my husband goes to p/u this cake, and it was not ready!, they didnt even have the order, and just didnt know what was going on. They asked my hubby if he could come back and pick it up, and he asked them what time, as it was close to their closing, well, they decided that they would make the cake and deliver it to us. I believe it was Shana who delivered it, and when we seen it we were excited because it was cute and my hubby loves him some cake! Now as you can see, this cake was a hot flaming mess! Lets star at the top, that colored icing was retched, I cant even explain to you what it taste like, and yes we know colored icing can be bitter, but this was yucky, moving on to the cake??? I have never in my life had a cake that was this dry and this heavy, it was more like cornbread, it didnt even taste like cake, and this was supposed to be a simple vanilla cake and from what I know, vanilla cakes are usually white, and there is no way in the world vanilla flavoring would turn a cake this color. We will never ever ever go to this place again, and I will make sure to tell anyone who will listen how I paid $32.00 for a thick, heavy, dry a** cake! The only nice thing I can say about this cake is it was cute before we cut into it. SMDH!!!

I was truly excited that Shana Cake had a new owner. We loved the original owner and were excited see it made great again.I placed my first order with the new owner for Thanksgiving. I can completely understand and forgive most of what occurred with the Thanksgiving order. She is a brand new business owner, taking over a business, during a crazy time. For that, she deserves grace.What I cannot and will not accept is the five/eight people working that were not wearing a mask. We are in the middle of a worldwide pandemic that has killed more than 1.6 million people.Not only is this in violation of Shawnee County orders, but it violates my trust in you as a business owner. As the mother of a child with a food allergy, Im already placing a significant amount of trust and faith in you to make items that are safe for my child. By allowing those five people to not wear a mask, going against medical advice and county orders, you have lost my trust. If I cant trust you to ensure those working are wearing masks, why would I trust you with the safety of my childs food?I could overlook any issues there were with my order and service. I cannot and will not overlook the mask issue. Because of this, we cant be Shana Cake customers anymore.

Ordered 24 cupcakes and a smash cake for my sons 1st birthday party a week in advance the employees were nice and friendly however for how much I paid for the cupcakes and the small smash cake they were super dry and crumbly and the frosting was rock hard. Also they didnt put much effort into making them look nice. I do not recommend.

Sorry - this is a bit of a novel.My daughter ordered a wedding cake from Shana Cake because she needed gluten-free. I called the day before the wedding to pay for it and see about delivery time and was told that they were unsure of what flavors they even wanted, even though they had previously decided that.The day of the wedding we were running around getting last minute decor up, trying to get the bride ready, and someone walked back with a cake that had just been handed off to them. We were a bit stunned when we saw it. We werent quite sure how we were going to put this cake out and serve it, it was terrible!! I attached pictures of what she showed to Shana Cake that she wanted and what we actually received. Its like it was straight out of a Pinterest fail board. Luckily, the bride and groom chose to laugh about it instead of cry.It had inconsistent beading around the edges (which wasnt wanted in the first place), the filling was squishing out of the middles, it wasnt fully frosted OR fully naked - it was somewhere in between and the frosting was not smooth and cracking, the top tier was off center and crooked, the cake board was way too big for the cake so we had to scramble around to find someone with a pocketknife to be able to cut down the board to even fit on the cake stand. We had said we would put on our own greenery but werent really even able to do that because of how it was decorated.As for the taste, I know its GF, but I was still expecting more. It was cornbread-like in texture, it did not taste good, and the filling tasted bad as well - one guest described it as rancid tasting. They did their cutting the cake and first bite and gave a bit to a few people and then didnt serve the rest. Luckily, we had cupcakes from a different place that we were able to serve to everyone.Definitely not what my daughter wanted for her one and only wedding cake. Very disappointed and would not recommend at all!We emailed the owner about the situation, but sadly never got any response.

I called inquiring about this bakery a week before because it is a long drive. We drove over an hour to get here and the sign said come back Thursday at 11. We were there on Thursday at 11:45. No one answered the phone and all the lights were off. Im incredibly disappointed as it is hard to find a bakery that caters to allergies, which is why I called. At no point in my previous call did the employee say they would just close shop and not answer the phone. Definitely wont waste my time again.

We have eaten here multiple times. They have great waitstaff and hearty pizzas. The pizza is a bit greasy, so make sure you are comfy with a little extra heaviness to your pizza. The salads are OK, but I would suggest a pizza over a salad. The pizza was so good and fresh. Wings & salad were super yummy too. Nice staff as well :).

This is an awesome place for treats and staple items for those with food allergies and sensitivities! My favorites so far are the little blueberry loaves and the basic loaf bread. Its a regular grocery stop for my friend and it has also made my life a lot simpler. Definitely check them out or place a whole order!

Extremely friendly staff who actually understand food allergies. The entire facility is gluten-free, and the cakes are absolutely delicious. Other allergens are not a concern so I dont remember as well, but I know that most, if not all of their offerings are dairy- and nut-free as well. Highly recommend!

My family loves this place, even my 10 year old who is a celiac kid and very picky! They have excellent customer service and the treats are amazing, and the noodles they make are the best!

We didnt know they were opening in Lawrence today and we went in because my toddler girl wanted to. We got 4 mini cupcakes (all the four flavors they had) and they tasted fantastic. I liked them better than the usual cupcakes made with all purpose flour. I was surprised to hear they were gluten free and egg free (a couple of flavors and they substituted it with flax seeds). Above all, they were priced very reasonably. $1.25 for each mini or $12 for a dozen! I m not allergic to any food but I would still prefer their cupcakes in the future. Above all, great service. They need a couple of weeks to settle down in the new shop but the bunch of wonderful ladies I met today made sure everything for us was taken care of.

Our daughter-in-law has celiac disease so I needed gluten-free cupcakes for a baby shower. These are free of anything that people may be sensitive to and the are also delicious - maybe the best we have ever had!

Since I found out that my son was gluten free we have had to make a lot of unsatisfying changes. But this place truly made me cry when the entire store was gluten free. I didnt have to restrict him to just one self or one cabinet of goods and when he ran out of his cupcakes I could offer him mine because mine too were gluten free. I was so happy to find a place where he didnt have to feel different and excluded. I cried. Thank you Shana Cake

Absolutely fantastic allergy friendly baked goods. I prefer their cupcakes to normal cupcakes honestly. They have the breezy gluten free bread I have ever tasted,and they are the only place in town that sells vegan baked goods.

My bestie found this place. The cakes are amazing. I didnt even know they were gluten free. I rank them up there with my favorites. Loved the banana split and the lemon ones. They were the top ones that I tried this time. Ill be back when I have a sweet tooth.

Amazing service and delicious pastries! Their apple cinnamon muffins were heavenly. I came in the afternoon on Valentine’s Day and they still had a bunch of pastries to choose from. Thank you so much!

Cupcakes were good but there was a small variety. Strawberry lemonade was the best. Oatmeal cream pie cookie was a bit dry and crumbly. My kids loved their cupcakes

I went in to buy hot chocolate and cookies before the Christmas parade for my grandkids. The hot chocolate and cookies were very good and the customer service was great! Very friendly. I will go back.

I havent been there yet but Im very happy and over joyed that there is finally and gluten free place for people that have this. My daughter was told that she has Celiacs about 7- 8 months ago. It was tough at first but with people like you out there is makes it easier to take care of our loved once.

I bought some chocolate donuts today at Shanas and I ate one right away. I have not had as soft and delicious donut since I had to go gluten free. I wish we lived a lot closer.

I have had a thyroid disease for a couple years and have to avoid gluten and dairy, so shana cake is a lifesaver for chocaholics like me! And way better tasting than normal pastries in my opinion!
