The wait was a bit long, but is understandable with short staffed diners. Having done away with traditional menus to help with cleanliness, their menu is online, which I dont have a problem with. Lots of good desserts to choose from. I got the Country Breakfast with grits, and it was delicious, but I would not recommend the coffee. Staff was helpful and courteous. Overall, a great Downriver classic.
Visited this diner for lunch while out here for business from Colorado. Great atmosphere and food. Such a quaint place with friendly people.
Tonight was our first time trying TVs Deli and Diner. It was amazing!! My husband had the clam chowder along with his meal and he said it was the best he ever ate!! He said it was even better than can make. Our meal was amazing we will definitely be returning!! Since it was a dinner date for us we decided it was so good we order carry out for the kids at home. All the staff we very friendly and our waitress was on point even during a busy dinner service.
For the most part I really like their food, though some things seem to be pretty basic for the price. Their desserts are amazing. I would have given 4-5 stars but they dont have menus to hand out, and my phone never has good service in their to download the menu app. Instead they have a couple tablets to use if you cant download the menu. Isnt a shared tablet the same as shared menus? Can we just gets regular menus back please. That part is super annoying to me.
The food is constantly good. Frequently recommend this place
This place always has amazing food. Spoke with the owner and they are awesome. If you like caramel apples topped with Candy call and get one.
Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Food was really good. Planning on coming back for the lemon berry cake! Unfortunately they were out when we were there
I was there today around 1:30. Lobster bisque was not good. Not 1 piece of lobster. So basically a bowl of orange cream. Our waitress Laura was terrible. Set the soup down and never came back until we were standing. Then became rude. They were not busy. We wanted dessert but decided to just get out of there. This was the 2nd bad experience with servers so we will not be returning.
I placed a carry out order at TVs and I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The portion size was big. The Meatloaf was the best that I ever had. It was delicious. I eat here often and the food is awesome.
Love this place! The menu is off the chart! So much to choose from and everything is fantastic. If youre in a hurry, stay away because really good food takes time!
I love this Diner it has an old school cozy feel. The food was good and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of dessert choices. If youre full I recommend you take some pie home.
Impressive service and taste. Ordered the Breakfast Special with scrambled eggs, a slab of Dearborn ham, two thick strips of bacon, two large sausage links, rye toast and home fries. It takes a lot of food to fill me up, and TVs satisfied that requirement. The coffee was just so-so, really nothing special there, thus the 4 star rating. If their coffee starts to taste more roasty with flavor, this wll be a 5 star breakfast experience. Diner is clean, and every covid social obligation was met to my expectations. I will definitely be back! (But not for the coffee.)
Cool little diner with an extensive menu that includes much more that standard diner food. We had Chicken and Waffles and a Cajun pasta dish and both were very good. Be careful in the parking lot as it is a little rough and has some trip hazards but the food definitely is worth the trek. We will go back again.
Not as good as used to be. No paper menus and some of us seniors have a problem with using an I pad,or our phone for that. How is that sanitary, passing it from person to person around the table and then to next group?
Excellent service, greeted was great followed with laughs and dinner was great!
This restaurant is a local gem 💎, we drive almost an half an hour just eat lunch here. The food is absolutely wonderful. It is definitely worth the extra 75 cents for the Mac Cheese! Also tv diner is really taking every precaution possible to up hold social distancing suggestions, from creative decoration to bock off every other booth to scannable QR codes to replace traditional menus.
5 stars across the board!!!! Had the hummus to start-BEST I’ve ever had!!! Comes with warm pita-so good!! Hubby got the Mediterranean salad with chicken and I got the Southwest Chicken salad-amazing!!! We had NOTHING left over!!! Highly recommend!!
Place is kind of cool and unique set up for a small mom and pop, the food was amazing though and the staff is amazing aswell deffineitly adding this place to my resturant rotation.
Ive only been here a handful of times, but was never dissatisfied. It has a cozy, kind of a 50s themed decor, which is sort of neat. They have a good variety on their menu also. I usually get their California sandwich. They also have a great desert menu. If youre ever driving passed the place, youll notice their little electric car that says TV Deli and Diner. Very cool!!Definitely a very unique place and worth checking out.
Absolutely amazing breakfast! Would have been a 5 but the yolk in my eggs benedict were over cooked😪. However the hollandaise sauce did almost make up for it!
Great food and good portions, friendly staff, clean and delightful restaurant. delicious cakes to choose from as well!
Fantastic food but I did not care for the cheese they put on my biscuits and gravy wish I knew that I would have asked them for no cheese please ruined the gravy for me 😒
The food was delicious I had breakfast my husband had chicken and waffles and biscuits & gravy had to try his too it was outstanding . Everything on the menu look so good . We will definitely go back .The waitress was very good and very friendly and it was very clean. .
Home made food, soo good, and carrot cake(OMG)
The food and service is outstanding! In these times its a hard business. They work hard. Thank you! Will be back😊
Food was amazing! Will be going back real soon. Loved the atmosphere also.
This was one of our favorite dine in spots prior to Covid. The food always felt like it was freshly made in house and great flavor. This visit, felt like we were eating at a GFS. In the past, I was never handed mayonnaise packets when I requested a side of it (other local restaurants are not using packets so I cannot say it has to do with regulations). The coleslaw was not the way we remembered nor were the french fries. We also felt like it had taken much more time to get our food than necessary as there were 9-10 tables with 2-3 diners at each table and at least half of those tables were served prior to us ordering. I really hope they make the changes necessary to get back to where they once were.
Great local dinner. Service was not that great. Food and coffee were cool. Im sure due to COVID they cant find enough good help. I still recommend you try it you might have a completely different experience. Carrot 🥕cake was amazing.
Consistent home cooked food. Always a good meal. Steaks, sandwiches, salads and old hearty favorites all served with a wine or a beer. Good cake selection too.
Food was good for a casual dinner. The waitress wasnt the friendliest but she was efficient.
I love it that this place has a unique breakfast menu. I get so tired of the same options at every restaurant. This is more of a brunch menu with a lot of creative dishes. And they serve breakfast pretty late, too, I think either 12:30 or 1, for those who sleep in.
Was at TV deli diner this week and had the Philly cheese steak it was fantastic and so was there beef vegetable soup well be back
First time hear and I had such high hopes after the reviews...I was so disappointed. I ordered my burger well done and it was basically raw, I wish I was exaggerating...Other burgers that were ordered medium well were the same pink raw. After purchasing this dinner we just door dashed Wendys...
Cozy little diner that was clean and well kept, could use maybe a couple updates in the near future but still inviting. The food had good flavor and I enjoyed the clam chowder, my wife got the chili that was decent but a little plain tasting, both of our sandwiches were good. Now where I knock this was my server, there was one server that seemed to be on spot and attentive to her tables. And then there was the one we had, not so much and should reconsider working for tips. Our server appeared to not be to concerned about getting service to the table, seemed disorganized and inefficient and made sure to take the time to stand at the work station for a bit to take a drink and stand there for while we waited for her. Then if a customer has to ask for a refill while the empty glasses are sitting on the end of the table, thats not right. Luckily we had the right amount of cash needed to leave it on the table because after we didnt feel like waiting any longer for her to pick it up and we got out to our car, she was sitting out back there smoking. Needless to say, smallest tip Ive given in a while and it was more than what I really think was truly deserved. Wed try there again but would request a different server for sure.
This is a very friendly establishment. Great food great service awesome atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Ive been here a few times. Its not bad. Im not a fan of the waitress we had yesterday but the other waitresses we had were great. I wish I got her name but she has short blonde hair and quite slim. Worked the day shift. Our food has been hit or miss. My boyfriend loves their carrot cake. Sometimes drives there just to pick up a slice.
Fabulous food and wonderful staff who are so helpful! Thanks for a lovely lunch!
Always delicious, high quality food. Ive never had anything bad here. The chicken noodle soup is the best Ive ever had. My family loves their lobster bisque too. Everything is awesome here.
Great prices, friendly staff, and great food!
Very good delicious food good portion size. Waitresses are friendly and helpful
Food ok staff was rude. We were sitting near the door and listened to the host talk trash about all the carry out customers.
Food was Mediocre at best... Id never go back for what Gordon Food Service Quality foods... Yuck no thanks...
The TV Diner always has excellent food and great service. The carrot cake is great and the Lobster Bisque is the best that I have ever had. Been going here for years and it never disappoints.
Ordered for catering! Excellent rates and food! Memphis Mac is my favorite!
Both food and service were excellent
When Im in the area visiting some buddies. I always get a carry out of their lobster bisque. Dont dine in too many times. But I say, get the lobster bisque.
Fish and chips great, wish they had regular size toast for breakfast.
Mostly good food though curbside doesnt mean curbside and check your orders. They forget something every time I order.
Just love this spot! Great food and service!
Been going here since I was little. :) Its been a family favorite for years. Never disappointed :)
Cute, clean little place. Has a decent bar and a large menu. The staff was awesome. We had WJ for our waiter. He was efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. Great personality too! Soup was good, great mashed potatoes and the best carrot cake I have ever had. Definitely a place to try!
Have not been in town for awhile. Ordered carry out and everything was just awesome! We will be back. Please support this great place.
Great food... excellent service...loved th we chocolate martinis. Friendly welcoming atmosphere.
Grandson and I had great meals and service.
Used to be so great so unique in that everyone was so warm. Now all the good servers are gone and its cold and unfriendly.
Friendly staff, food was excellent, and service was great..WJ is such an asset to the restaurant, always pleasant, very thorough and just an overall nice young man, he certainly makes me want to return to rhis lovely restaurant!
Love there meatloaf and shakes!
Everything here is excellent. Bloody Marys are really good, too!Come for breakfast and get the scrambled eggs with crab in it. Phenomenal!
The chipotle burger was decent. The crispy onions were tasty. The spaetzle, however, was bland and a complete disappointment. But still, this place is worth your time (as lo g as you dont get the spaetzle).
Amazing food!!Highly recommend checking it out if you havent already.FYI great tasting gluten free hamburger buns. Best I have had anywhere.Very nice staff as well.
Staff is friendly without being fake. Fantastic foo, breakfast and dinner, at least. Havent had lunch yet, but its coming up on my menu plan.
Great service, very large selection on menu.
We had burgers....they were VERY GOOD!!!
Always love this place, great service, and food.
Excellent and thank you to Jackie the best server in Downriver.
Not your typical DinerMy visit was on a Thursday Morning at 9:00. I was immediately greeted upon entance.Given my choice of seating and offered a coffee or other beverage along with a menu.My waitress “Christina” was very pleasant, proficient and likeable. She actually seemed to enjoy her job.I chose the Western Scramble “Ham Green Peppers, Onions mixed with Scrambled Eggs & Cheddar Cheese and cheese grits”. Coffee was extra. It was very good actually a decent amount of veggies & ham in the eggs. The grits were excellent a small mound of cheesy creamy grits and covered with crispy blanket of additional cheese. The English muffin was thicker than most and very good. (They also have “Smuckers” products and have Apple/cinnamon jelly which is never usually found. They usual offerings are Grape, Strawberry, Mixed and Orange Marmalade).I was tempted to go for the Green Eggs and Ham as a tribute to my favorite childrens author but maybe next time. The menu is different than all the other places in the area. My only small complaint is that they open at 9:00. I am an early bird and like breakfast soon after I awaken. And the prices are on the higher side but the food is worth it.AtmosphereLocated on Fort Street, approx ¼ mile north of West Road in Trenton Mi.Pleasantly decorated inside to remind you of a diner but with an upper class taste of refinementNoise LevelQuiet. Eggs, overdone....Hash browns were over cooked and were big chunks of potatoes. If you like really thick bacon, they have it. The white toast was more of a Texas toast, very thick sliced.
Dont have menues for you to look at have to use your phone !!Doubt I will come back
Good food and good service! Never disappointed!
So fast at their service and being super safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. They had the absolute best macaroni I’ve ever had. Super nice priced and an amazing amount of food too!
I love this place! The food is always good and everyone is super friendly.
We eat here frequently, and the food is always outstanding. Great variety of items on the menu, always creative and delicious. They also do a great job on the social distancing inside the restaurant.
Lunch and dinner are very good. Breakfast not so good
Food was goodService was slow for being at 50% capacity during breakfastRedhead host was rude w every encounter.
Really friendly and clean. Chicken and waffles was delicious 🤤 couple vegetarian/ vegan options. Delicious desserts. Definitely worth a visit. Check out their menu online. As of 7-13, They have dine in and are keeping the social distance. Will absolutely try this place again. Bring a mask 😷 to enter the establishment.
Favorite diner to go too. All food is scratch made fresh and never disappoints.Always try to save room for dessert as theyre some of the best around.
Good service and food. Just wish they had more vegetarian and vegan options
Definitely one of the top resteraunts in the area. They have a substantial menu of great food from breakfast to dinner, and some must try specials as well. I recommend the Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast and the Chicken Paprikash for dinner! Friendly staff and great service!
Forgot our carry out order on my sisters birthday. $90 order, had me waiting in the curbside pickup for over a half hour before I was told they had not even begun cooking my order. Then gave me a piece of cake to try and “make it up” to me. I was even told my order was being packaged when I called asking how much longer it might be. What a joke.
Came in to Michigan visiting Family...Wonderful Time
Never disappointed when eating here. The stroia family always goes above and beyond.Even brought us chocolate chip waffles because we asked what smelled so good.Great meal, great service
This is the best place downriver for a half pound burger. Its a half pound single patty. The burgers tasted out of this world, very flavorful with that charbroil taste. We both ordered them cooked the same way, one was spot on, the other was over cooked, but still delicious and juicy. Instead of fries we both ordered the Mac N cheese side dish that was simply perfect. It is the creamy Mac and not the crunchy type, delicious. We split the carrot cake as the servings are rediculously large, again the best carrot cake I have ever had. Price for the dinner was under $25 including soft drinks. I dont understand the complaints about price? Server was friendly and smiled. The manager on duty was pleasant also. My go to place for burgers was Chilis, they had a 45min wait on a Saturday so we came here. Now this is my first place for burgers.
