Born and raised in this city. Have to admit I was happy to see the business development’ in my area until I realized it wasn’t meant for working class POC. Ace is more of the same. Ace looks really nice on that corner. Sadly, I was followed around the store a few moments ago by the manager. She was ‘polite’ enough to pretend that she was fixing things on the shelves across from me. Today’s visit was my first and last. Pretty disappointing to see their large stock of POC centered merchandise and be profiled right in front of it. Next time I’ll buy my soil from the plant lady next door. She always makes time to speak to me and most importantly, treats me like a HUMAN.

Visited this hardware store for the first time and was really impressed. Needed plumbing supplies and staff was super friendly, knowledgeable. Good selection as well. Will be using this store regularly in future as well since it is nearby and had decent amount of parking near store for weekday early afternoon.

This store is great. Not only do they have a great gift section that most hardware stores dont but the team is super knowledgeable. Theyve helped me with multiple paint projects and believe it or not finding the right screws on multiple occasions!! NEVER LEAVE lol

I have been shopping at this Ace store for a few months now. I drive all the way from Albany to purchase items and plants. I took my Mom there to purchase items yesterday and she said a staff member was rude to her and said he was losing his patience with her. This is his job not my 70 year old Mom. If he couldnt assist he shouldve asked his Mananger. Bad customer service. She didnt want to purchase any items after seeing all the nice Christmas items. Home Depot got my Moms hardworking money today.

Hatchet has a wide range of things for anyone from the nine to five I aint got time to the advanced peoples this is the exact thing I need. The folx working there are super helpful too!

This is a great hardwire store as well as a fun homegoods store. Customer service is great, too.However, DO NOT BUY CAR KEYS here that you have to special order. It takes about three weeks for the keys to arrive (way too long!), and then you have to come in and have your key programmed. My key was not programmed correctly the first time, so I had to come back again to get it done.

The store is a hidden treasure in downtown. I think a lot of people do not realize it is much more than a hardware store. A great place for out of town visitors to pick up little gifts for people back home.

Employees have a terrible attitude

Always something new at this store, not just hardware, books, funky new light fixtures, home decor, t-shirts. Great store to spend a hour just to browse. Great employees, and very helpful.

This place has the best customer service of anywhere Ive ever been. Theyre always completely helpful, fast, and knowledgeable. Ive also always been very, very happy with their prices. When you count in the convenience of the downtown location, I cant see a reason to go anywhere else.

Parking is usually ok, but it is on-street. They have a good selection and a very knowledgeable staff. Definitely punches over its weight as a downtown hardware store

This is the hardware store you dream of. Huge, and with a good selection of what you might typically expect at a hardware store, plus decorative and novelty stuff that make it an interesting place to stop in even if you do not need a plumbing fitting or can of paint.

A real gem downtown with a variety of items including a last minute gift. They are friendly and helpful, one of my favorite stores.

Very unfortunate to have to give a poor review but Ive been a loyal customer of the hardware store that you and your husband now run under the Ace Hardware label. Ive been coming to this location with my 3 little girls for 8 years. On a recent visit they asked me about the crass merchandise in the window that uses swear words and phrases that are sexual in nature. Can you help me explain to my 11 and 14 year old girls how this is relevant in the time of #MeToo? I am probably one of the biggest local supporters in Troy....but Im having a hard time with the window displays and that so much of this merchandise is at adult waist level or lower. I understand that many people have gone into your store to complain about the placement of some of your questionable merchandise, myself included, but your response has been its 2017, get over it. Im not so sure Im convinced that you are community minded. As a store owner, you definitely have the right to purchase and display whatever merchandise you want. As a community, we would respectfully ask that you place this merchandise in a location not in plain site of children and definitely not in your window displays.

Worst front end service ever - Other employees helpful but cashier seemed to be put out of her way to cash me out. People are encouraged to shop local but with this type of attitude Ill shop elsewhere
