Terrible customer experience. My husband scheduled an appointment when he arrived at 7am service questioned the appointment he showed them a text he received confirming his appointment he was then told the part needed was Not in stock! Edit: May 2021. They ended up offering the best price compared to all other dealers in the entire South East side of Michigan, so yeah needless to say we got the Preferred CX-30 from them. Great job Moe!--------------------------------------Beautiful showroom! Wish their prices are better compared to other dealers. Anyway, Mazdas are absolutely awesome cars. Interior materials and design are luxury like. Way upscale than any competition and lots of standard safety tech.

I had purchased a CX5 used from a third party and wanted to make sure it was in good working order. I took it to Suburban Mazda of Troy and worked directly with Steven in the service dept. even though I did not purchase my vehicle from the dealership, Steven made sure I was taken care of. I was treated with respect and appreciated the honest answers and care that was given. My CX5 was thoroughly checked out and was serviced and repaired. They also updated any recalls and made sure i was aware of any additional equipment and repairs that might be needed. I will continue to service my Mazda with Steven and Suburban Mazda of Troy. In early 2021 I was looking for a very specific Mazda vehicle and Suburban Mazda of Troy had not been my first choice because there are multiple Mazda dealerships closer to me. Unfortunately I did not feel helped at all by the first 4 dealerships I visited - the people were nice, but they just were not able to deliver on my request. The vehicle I wanted could be found at other dealerships out of state, but the salespeople just could not make the necessary deals with the other dealerships to get my vehicle in to metro Detroit.That is when I reluctantly came to Troy, but I soon realized I should have come here from the start. Derrick Walker from sales swiftly understood my needs, and within minutes of my arrival he had a contingency plan on top of a regular plan to locate the vehicle and get it in. I was a little blown away by how quickly and effectively Derrick worked for me, given that I had gone through weeks of struggle with other Mazda dealerships. I am sure it was not easy but Derrick just blew through the obstacles and delivered.If you are looking to buy, this is the type of guy you need. Somebody who is not just focused on customer care, but also has the connections to make the right deals and follow the sale all the way through. If you are having trouble with other Mazda dealerships I recommend you go to Troy and ask for Derrick, or you could just skip the hassle and go straight to Derrick from the start.

Took my car in for service and recalls. Apparently they went under a massive remodel. It shows. Everything is sparkly, new and shiny. Nice waiting area(s) with comfortable chairs. I had Steven as my tech for service. Nice guy. Gave me a loaner while my vehicle gets serviced, a sweet 2021 Cx-30! Called me with an update for some issues that need fixing, and was up front on prices. I like that.

Called to look and test drive CX30. They advise coming in and speak to manager Kevin Morrison. Drove 30 minutes, asst manager said he will take care of me. He left bldg, came back 40 min later saying they had 2 but they were sold. TERRIBLE PLACE...AVOID!!!!!!

My fiance and I recently moved to the Detroit area and were in need of an oil change. We had previously purchased a warranty package from the dealership we had bought our vehicle from in Houston so we were hoping to continue to get free oil changes in our area. When calling to make the appointment we discussed the warranty to see what would be covered and they stated they would take care of it when we came in for the appointment. I brought our vehicle in early on a Wednesday morning for a simple oil change and the male behind the counter seemed unhappy to have to look into our warranty stating it would take two additional hours to get confirmation from our warranty office. I decided to wait around for the oil change and the warranty(again hoping the oil change would be free as before or at least discounted)...all in all I ended up waiting just under 3 hours. When I was taken back to pay for the oil change (that costed $70 after our warranty package) they told me I need roughly $5,000 worth of repairs to the car (which I thought was strange considering we take our car in for routine oil changes and tire rotations as recommended. In fact my MALE fiance brought our car in for our previous oil change and there were no issues) one of the recommended repairs was a new battery (this was a huge red flag to me because we had put a new battery in shortly before we moved). The most urgent issue I was told about was that there was a leak which was causing oil to leak onto the engine. The male I spoke with told me we needed to replace a valve and that I needed to bring the car back in ASAP. I asked him if there was anyway he could look into our warranty before my next appointment as to lessen my wait time (as he once again stated the warranty wait time could take up to three additional hours), he stated that he was unable to do that because it would void my entire warranty and the proper way to go about the warranty process is to have the car in the shop and after a proper diagnostic...this had all been done that day. After leaving I decided to call our warranty office myself to ask about the process of estimates prior to work being done. The warranty office stated that there is no issue calling in to their office to get an estimate as to what they would cover ahead of time as long as the mechanic calling was licensed and they had the proper part numbers needed for the repair (which the male at the dealership stated they had all the necessary parts ready for me whenever I was ready to bring the car back in). I decided to cancel my Friday appointment with the dealership to get a second opinion. Well today my fiance was finally able to get our vehicle into another mechanic (with stellar reviews about honesty and good work) to have our valve replaced. We just received word that our valve is bone dry and there is absolutely no need to replace it. I rarely leave reviews (good or bad), but I cannot stand the stereotype that women dont know enough about vehicles therefore we are constantly taken advantage of. Females beware!!

Doug was great to work with from start to finish on our CX-30 purchase! He was able to find the exact car we wanted and had it brought over from another dealer in Cincinnati. The buying process was relatively quick and easy, they even worked with us some on price with our trade-in. Very happy with the experience, would definitely go back again! Also, my wife loves her CX-30, I know because she tells me every 30 minutes lol. We cross-shopped the Lexus NX, RAV4 Hybrid & Prime, Corolla XSE, Mazda CX-5, Volvo XC40 and the CX-30 came out on top. Its a fantastic little car thats both fun to drive and luxurious. The Bose audio in the 2021 Premium sounds great, and the FWD car feels more nimble and lively than the AWD. Cant go wrong with any CX-30, but we really are glad we got the one we did. Thanks again!

I went to Suburban Mazda for service and could not have been more impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of Steven and his crew! I had an appointment set for 8:30 am, arrived 15 minutes early but they let me straight in without a wait. The crew immediately swarmed my car, checking diagnostics, air filters, tires, and more besides, and returned with all of that info shortly into my conversation with Steven at the desk. There were two different routine services I had requested and was prepared to pay for (the rates were very affordable by the way), but in assessing the info his crew had obtained on my car, Steven informed me that actually I did not need either of them done quite yet. I have never heard of a car service center telling a willing customer to keep their money, so right there they won my business for life on the spot! As if that wasnt enough, they blew out my air filters and told me not to worry about getting new ones for quite awhile, gave me 5 free washers to use during oil changes when they learned I do them myself, and even ran my car through the car wash! All courtesy, free of charge! The last time I received such an immaculate level of service in any industry was never, bar none. I cant recommend these guys enough, and I for one will be back. I would rate it two stars for the purchasing process which went by smoothly, however customer service and trying to get a hold of someone over the phone here or getting information forget about it. I purchased services insurance and GAP with my CX-5, did not even need them nor used them, and when time came to sell my car I cancelled the contracts and guess what without using any of them at all almost half of the price was deducted claiming it is due to mileage on the car, second I was told by the finance manager that it takes only 2 weeks to get the refund back and that I could sell my car before it was finalised because I am selling it to the same dealership, wrong two months in and the refund is not completed yet and I am still paying insurance and interest fees. If you want to purchase a vehicle from a dealership like this think twice and do your research as you can be very easily played.

My 2016 Mazda Miata Club was showing signs of excessive convertible top wear when I brought it in for a checkup near the end of its warranty period. After my brother leased his 2019 Jeep Compass from Suburban Jeep in Troy, he told me that I couldnt go wrong with a Suburban dealership. I was on the market looking for a SUV and did a lot of research on numerous different makes and models which is how I learned about the Mazda CX-5. I decided to visit the Suburban Mazda of Troy and met with Mo Debs. He was very polite, calm, and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the CX-5 a lot, but I also wanted to test other SUVs as well, which Mo respected. After testing over ten different SUVs (Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson, etc.), I ultimately decided to stick with the Mazda CX-5. I went back to Mo and he offered me a great price and gave me everything I loved and wanted in the CX-5 plus more. Justin Pantoya was the Finance Manager who worked with me as well and both him and Mo were phenomenal. If youre in the market considering a Mazda, visit the Suburban Mazda of Troy and ask for Mo. He listened to me, was very professional, and went above and beyond (he went to the Mazda of Farmington Hills himself to retrieve the exact vehicle I was seeking). The final price was exactly as I negotiated and there werent any strange last-minute surprises. I am very pleased with my brand new 2019 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring!

I will start this review with saying I will never purchase another vehicle from this dealership. I purchased a cpo vehicle that clearly wasnt even inspected. I purchased the vehicle and had it for 2 weeks And they had it for 2 weeks and has beenat the dealership on more then one occasion. The carfax came back clean but I was told by them the bumper was repainted.This arose being I seen the paint peeling. They have done nothing about this but to tell me to have it repainted was $670. I have owned a 2006 mazda6 and have been to prior Mazda dealerships and I just have to say this one falls short. Especially treated differently being a woman. You are not taken seriously. Or atleast by their service advisor. Car sales my be great but the service dept is less then ideal. I should have known from prior service experience on my 06 Mazda6 at suburban mazda to take my business to a different Mazda dealer.

I am so pleased with my experience here the last 2 days that I have to write this review.Yesterday morning my 2020 lease was shifting hard. I thought it was due to the cold weather. After work, I let it run to warm up and drove home. It kept shifting hard and then I got a series of flashing warning messages and lights on my dash. Including, Transmission malfunction and Engine malfunction. Obviously not things youd think youd see on a brand new 998 mile car. I was so upset and scared I called the dealership at 8:30 at night hoping someone could tell me what to do.The service department was closed so I was transferred to the dealership manager. I told him what happened and he was surprised, responsive and concerned. He asked when I could get the car in. Unfortunately due to the type of work I do, I couldnt get in for 3 more days and was afraid to drive it.Derrick then offered to have a driver pick my car up at work today and bring me a loaner. I was SHOCKED by this. Im very sure this was above and beyond service.My car did indeed get picked up at work and I now have a loaner. I later got a call from my salesperson, Mo (who has been super great since the beginning), who saw that my car had been brought in and he wanted to see what was up. I let him know and he was apologetic, concerned and reassured me he would keep an eye on it and speak personally to the service manager about what was going on.While I am surprised a new car (and a Mazda at that) had this issue, I am really grateful for how wonderful the staff has been and how they made me feel like a valued customer by accommodating me. I know they absolutely did not have to do that. I felt they needed the recognition because this type of service needs to be rewarded.

My sales guy was good. His name is Leon, and I believe he did all he could to give me the best deal. I can tell he was tired from the day, but as I was warm and welcoming to him, he was just right back. You can tell this man was very dedicated to his job. I do not claim much blame to what was negotiated upon my monthly payment, even though I didnt officially get what i entirely wanted.What rates this place down is the manager walked by me more than 5 times, and not a single acknowledgement, or care in the world to say hello until my final transaction. Then the loud lady who sat next to him was loud and cussed while on the phone. Bringing in her personal life while I am awaiting to test drive cars. After discussing the price of the vehicle and being fatigue as I am; I rather not hear a congrats or what not. Leon knew and at least thanked me for the transaction which is fine. Dont congrats me when I have to work more of a deal.What sucked as well is I couldnt walk out with the vehicle that night. They are going to deliver the vehicle to where i work which is a very heavily populated area of downtown. Hopefully my switch on my car goes smooth.I am now a leased Mazda 6 driver.

Now being a manager in customer service myself, I will tell you that Steve and his service are first class. I had a terrible experience here today. I went in to get my headlights looked at because they are so dim its not even safe to drive at night.First, they told me it will be $130 just to figure out why the headlights are dim because of the technology that it takes to diagnose this issue which I would assume is just looking at the headlight. The result of the $130 diagnostic was that the headlights are too dim. When I asked why, they said they dont know but that maybe its because I bought aftermarket bulbs and the glass is dirty. Their recommendation was that I should spend $400 on new headlights and for them to clean the outside, since I already have to pay $130. When I pushed back on this, they changed their recommendation and said that it wouldnt really make that much of a difference if they did that, so they wanted to save me the money.So they sent me off on my way to continue to drive unsafely at night with almost nonexistent headlights with no suggestions or looking into the issue further. A simple Google search pulls up hundreds of complaints of Mazda headlights being too dim but I did not have time to search through these to find a solution. I would expect that a Mazda dealer should be aware of this issue and diagnose and correct it accordingly or at the very least indicate that they will look into it. Instead, this place tried to swindle me out of money and then when I did not fall for their scheme, tried to act like they were doing me a favor by not charging me for doing nothing!! Completely unacceptable.

I recently bought a cx-5 from Doug who was extremely helpful and kind with getting me into the perfect car within my budget. If you need service ask for Steve!! I brought my car in after a minor incident with a pothole (thanks Michigan roads!) and Steve had it fixed the next day. So far I have had excellent customer service with both the sales team and the service team.

This was THE WORST car shopping experience of my life. I visited them yesterday at 130 pm. The had two of their vehicles, both unregistered in their 2 handicapped parking spaces. This is blatantly illegal. Shame on management for allowing this to occur.. as a result I was rather inconvenienced getting into the show room. Once inside I was totally ignored. Two were busy with customers while two ignored me talking to each other about the weather...literally. I had asked both for help as I was looking to test drive and buy a cx5. By 150pm I walked out. Just as no one greeted me no one said good bye either. Hey everybody can shop where they wantI am just relaying my experience. I would give them zero stars if I could. But one star was the lowest ranking and that was certainly my experience. Mazda needs to have secret shoppers to identify these issues. I guess they just dont care.

As far as servicing goes, this place is not great. Took my car in for servicing because it had a recall. The service people were less than friendly. I also had a get oil changed light on at the time (with my mazda, the light comes on after x number of miles and can only be turned off at a Mazda dealership. Annoying, but not the dealers fault). Service manager said they would get that taken care of. Car came back after recall work, and the light was still on.Just yesterday, I submitted a request for getting cost estimates on getting a full service done on my car. Still have not heard back from anyone at the dealership.Overall, the attention to detail as well as responsiveness to customers from this dealers service department leaves a lot to be desired.

Lack of communication with ordering parts in the service department. I drove an hour this morning to get my infotainment system fixed. When I arrived they did not have the part in that they ordered last week. Last week Monday I was there, they were supposed to order the part they scheduled me for the following Wednesday (today) and when I arrived the part wasn’t in. A phone call telling me not to come would have been nice. I love my Mazda but this dealership needs to work on communication.

I recently had an issue with the GPS system on my car. I accidentally deleted all the information and was without any GPS.I took the car in to the dealership in Troy and explained the situation to the Service Manager Amir.He, along with his colleague, Doug, took the time to track down and install a replacement SD card.I greatly appreciate the time and effort they took to resolve this problem.They were a perfect example of excellent Customer Service.Many thanks gentlemen.

I have been coming to Suburban Mazda of Troy for service for years, and they have always exceeded my expectations when servicing my Mazda 3. Today, I traded that in for a new CX-5, and Doug St. Louis made the process very easy. Friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I had an issue with the Mazda service center regarding an oil change. I posted the issue and was contacted immediately about my poor experience. I explained what had happened and was issued a verbal apology and a free oil change. I expressed that I did not want the free oil change; an apology was sufficient. They asked that I take the free oil change so they can prove their service.Later that week I received a recall in the mail. I took my car in for a 1000 oclock appointment. I arrived around 0930. Knowing I was very early I spoke with Kareem and told him I was not in a hurry. He was very nice and very friendly and assured me he would get my car back ASAP. While I was filling out paperwork Jim offered me a bottle of water and was very friendly. I was taken to the waiting area and offered coffee. At 1001 Kareem told me my car was ready. What a difference from the last time I was there. Kareem was always smiling and very friendly. Not only was my car fixed but they washed the car and vacuumed the inside. What a great experience! I have yet to get my oil changed but will update my review when that time comes. I am hopping and counting on the same experience; should be around April. Thank you Kareem for the excellent and very pleasant experience. I hope to see you in April for the oil change.UPDATE!Just had my free oil change. I primary dealt with Danna who was very courteous. During the registration for the oil change Danna found there was recall on the car. The service department was able to fix the recall and complete my oil change in less than 30min. Very satisfied and happy with my experience. It is nice to see a company correct its mistake and stand by its customers. I will continue to do business with Mazda of Troy!

Suburban Mazda of Troy is the best dealership I’ve ever been to. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. Every experience I have had there has been great. Everyone I have dealt with is so helpful and friendly. My service advisor is Steven, and if you need service done, ask for him. He’s a rockstar. He’s the best service advisor I have ever had at any dealership I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to many dealerships due to moving a lot, so I mean it when I say he’s the best. Steven is super friendly and helpful, and he will take super good care of you and whatever you need. I actually look forward to taking my beloved Mazda in for service because Steven makes it so quick and easy, and like I said, he’s just so nice. It’s so great to have a service advisor who I feel like actually cares about my car and my experience and my time.Everyone else I have talked to at the dealership is super nice as well. I bought my Mazda CX-5 from Derrick, who is a great salesman and isn’t pushy, which many sales people can be. He was very patient with me, and gave me exactly what I wanted. I kept changing my mind about what trim level I wanted, and he was very nice about it. He didn’t try to force me into the higher trim level, he just explained the differences, answered all of my questions (he is very knowledgeable), and let me decide for myself, which I appreciated a lot. I hate dealing with super pushy salesmen, and Derrick isn’t one of them. He also sat with me for a long time to explain how everything worked, and was very patient when I asked a million questions and then repeated my questions because my memory is bad 😂Anyway, Suburban Mazda of Troy rocks. I highly recommend it to everyone. It really is the best.(Side note: I also highly recommend the CX-5. Best car ever. I’m on my second one. Do yourself a favor and take one for a test drive. There is not a less competent person in this world than Derrick at Mazda of Troy! My experience has been horrific! I have no choice because my company uses wheels which buys Mazda’s. I live 2 hours from this Mazda dealer and it’s the closest one to me and I got a call and text that my vehicle was ready! I woke up drove down and 15 minutes before arriving I was told that it wasn’t my vehicle.Then I got a text two weeks later that it was ready. I stopped in to pick up the car when I was in town and Derrick was rude and put off that I didn’t make an appointment. But when I made an appt and you didn’t have my car, I was in the area and stopped to get it and it took 2 hours out of my day. He literally locked me out of my mobile app because he wanted to enter my security question answers which he entered wrong which now makes me nervous - did he just want personal information on me. I go to leave and the car has 0 miles til empty and he hops in my car annoyed and drives off to go get gas but The car my purse and everything and everything I had packed to head off on travels in it! Super shady and sketchy situation, if you don’t have to come to this dealer DONT!!!!!!!!! Horrific experience - over 2 hours and I’m standing here waiting now for him to go get gas when there were two hours to do so.

I recently took my Mazda in for service as there was a warning light issue I had trouble solving on my own. I am typically hisitent to take my car in for service as I have not had great experiences in the past. My experience at Subarban Mazda, and particularly with my mechanic Steve, was the best I have had to date. He took his time to explain the possible issues causing my problem and ways I can go about avoiding the same in the future. I felt the opposite of fleeced when I left their garage. Ill happily take my car back anytime I need service.

I bought my first Mazda here and loved it, I didnt think that badly of this place until I purchased my second Mazda. The second time around I decided to shop around a little. You would think being a loyal customer would get a better deal with these people, but thats not the case. I inquired with 5 other Mazda dealers, and Suburban was the most expensive. I was very disappointed with the price they offered. I went to Brighton Mazda instead and they were way better. When I got my first car at Suburban, they literally took 5 minutes to show me everything. When I went to Brighton, the dealer sat down and showed me everything I needed to know about the car. Thats customer service.The next time I had to deal with Suburban was when the 2018 Mazda 3 Touring and Grand Tourings had an opportunity to get a complimentary Apple Carplay upgrade if we purchased it before they released it in 2018. I called Suburban, and they said they would call me back. Never received a call back. I just called Brighton the next day, and they scheduled me an appointment without a problem.I originally went to Suburban because it was closer, but after getting treated so much better at Brighton, I rather go out of my way to get service there. Sometimes you dont know how bad you have it, until you get treated better else where.

3 stars is what they get. And 3 stars only because of a 5 star performance from their service center technician Jacob. Every time Ive brought my 6 in for service, its always a chore. Waiting 2 and half days just for a tire repair, not receiving call backs. Quite frankly I was fed up with their service center. But I dropped my car off for a morning appointment at 9am. About 9:30 I got a call from Jacob with a diagnosis of the issue and to let me know that its currently being repaired, along with letting me know of other prevanative measures I should take to ensure my 6 is running proficiently. My car was ready in less than a day. Quite frankly this guy is their saving grace, he gets the job done. If you need a repair on your Mazda, ask for Jacob. He gets the job done.
