Learned about this spot via an out of town cyclist I met in Corning Preserve. In the area for 18 years, I was unaware of Snowman and glad to have acted on the recommendation. The proprietor, Mr. Murphy, was working the window and suggested one scoop each of my favorites (orange/pineapple and black cherry.) Wow, what a treat. Rich, creamy large scoops chock full of fruit. Will return again soon.

First time having ice cream here. The lines are long,but move fast. Service is great and the servings are really big. Will definitely be going back again.

The ice cream itself is only ok. The flavors are fairly mild and have an old sugar aftertaste. However the ice cream sundays are gigantic and great prices. More likely to bring someone here if theyre a guest at my place who I want to impress, instead of for myself.

This is my go-to ice cream stand. A few years ago I developed a dairy intolerance, and had given up on ever getting ice cream at a place like this. Then I found out that they make their own dairy free soft serve here. After sampling their rotation of flavors, many times, I have never been disappointed. My fiance tells me their regular ice cream is also excellent. Both are reasonably priced.

By far the best ice cream in the capital region! Good portions at good prices. Staff are very efficient and friendly. Personally I recommend the peanut butter cookie dough hard ice cream. The line that builds on the north side of the building is usually worked by the owner, so it is generally longer than the one on the south side that follows fifth avenue. No public restrooms available. Extra parking exists via alleyway accessible on the west side of the building. Be extra careful in light of bad city drivers and many pedestrians. This shop can supply ice cream cakes if you call ahead to order. They also have a catering trailer that can do parties and corporate events with about six flavors. Highly recommend taking a half gallon home with you to avoid the lines, often about 30 minutes or more in the summer time evenings. Recommend a lunch time visit due to much shorter lines. If they don’t stock your favorite flavor in half gallons you can get a hand packed pint or quart or a bit more expense per unit volume. No outdoor seating available in covid-era. During “normal” seasons they offer covered picnic tables near the parking lot, often dirty with melted ice cream. Their sign out front previously one a state wide contest.

The Ice cream is so good!! They are always friendly and start to get to know you!They still take health precautions with covid like wearing masks and gloves and we really appreciate that!! The price has always been right still not too expensive even during these hard times! Definitely recommend for getting ice cream!! The lines you see go quick they look Long but they aren’t bad.

Best ice cream in the capital district hands down. They make all their own ice cream and have a bunch of flavors. I wish they stayed open later into Fall because I wait all winter for them to open again.

Glad I got there there a day before it closed for the season. Ice cream was great and the staff was super nice.

The ice cream was pretty basic. The soft serve wasnt as sweet as I have eaten at other places. The sizes are worth the price, but since the flavor wasnt what I thought it to be I was a little disappointed. We ordered a small vanilla shake, small strawberry sundae, waffle cone with chocolate chip cookie dough, small smores sundae, and a small banana split. $20.25

Great soft serve ice cream. Comparable to Bumpys in Schenectady. The soft serve has less air than other places so it seems creamier. Tried the homemade ice cream and that was also very good. If you are in Troy it is worth the side track.

We went on a cold opening weekend. Lines moved quickly. Yummy ice cream. The worst experience about going out after the pandemic is the impatience of other customers. Can we all just inhale and admit that we all want ice cream at the same time, and admit its not a big deal? The kids here do a great job and are very nice at the window, especially to little kids.

Totally awesome place to pick up an ice cream. Very friendly, very fast, a serious about covid distancing (marking on the side walk go for quite a long way!). Plenty of good flavors. Love it!

Absolutely great! The line was quick, the people were super nice, and the ice cream was inexpensive, giant, and delicious! I even asked for a lot of sprinkles (figuring they would just do double a normal amount) and they filled it to the brim! 10/10 I am looking forward to returning here with friends all throughout the summer

Ive long felt Snowmans ice cream is the absolute best ice cream in the capitol region. I love the Kahlua flavored ice cream (though I miss the Kahlua Fudge Almond, which was my favorite). Without the KFA, I like to get the Samoa sundae with the Kahlua ice cream. Their toasted coconut is awesome. Their customer service is always on point, and they are pretty good about Covid precautions (not as thorough as they were in 2020 - the two lines for the windows get close once youre under their awning), but pretty good otherwise. Highly recommend

Got here around 30 mins before they closed in a Saturday and there was a line. We had to wait about 15 minutes but the wait was worth it. The ice cream is great and prices are very affordable.

Ive eaten a lot of ice cream, I mean I LOVE Ice Cream. I used to even work in an ice cream parlor as a kid in NYC. Snowmans always delivers. They havent been around this long and arent always busy if it wasnt the best in town. The lines go very fast. The staff is always pleasant and has a great friendly demeanor. Love stopping by. Ive even had it every day sometimes for weeks!

I feel ashamed of myself going there only recently since the 4 years Ive been in Troy. They have many amazing choices, and any flavor you normally like snowman always give little surprises that makes it even better. Weekends = long lines. But they move fast and there are places to sit right next to the place.

Always have a great experience when I go to Snowmans. Todays visit was just as great. Hot Fudge Sundae with Coffee Ice Cream, whipped cream and nuts was fantastic. My 92 yr. old mother and sister loved their Hot Fudge Sundaes too.

Theres a wide array of flavors and great service, the frozen ice cream pies are fantastic. I love their specialty sundaes, and their orange vanilla twist is a regular favorite. The line is well spaced for outdoor patrons and it runs usually from late March through late September. They do carry hand packed pints and quarts and gallons for those flavors you want to try to keep through the winter.
