Had a part break (pivot bolt) on my bike while riding at Northstar. Called Pacos they were helpful and they had the kit in stock. We installed the kit in the parking lot but had a part of the broken bolt that I couldnt extract. The service tech removed the bolt and didnt charge us. Great customer service and well stocked.

I dont typically leave reviews, but I had the best customer service experience at Pacos Ive ever had.I came in after trying to reassemble my road bike after shipping it to Truckee. Im green to the technical side of bikes which can make stepping foot into a bikeshop a bit unsettling and embarrassing.Pacos team dropped what they were doing to help get me on the road, while also teaching and showing me how to avoid the same assembly issues.I met Russell (owner) who talked me through a few bike tips without belittling my lack of bike knowledge and shared multiple road routes that he was eager to share.Great bike culture here, with no bike egos. I will definitely be back to Pacos in the future.

Saved my butt with a broken chain ring, and would have gotten me back on the mountain within an hour if Northstar hadnt closed for smoke. Plus they have a beer fridge and a cute dog.

I was going to buy an item, I brought it to the counter area. I was then so turned off by the clerk and their attitude that I gave the item to them and left the store. At this point I would rather burn a dollar bill in front of the store than give them any of my business. The Backcountry store down the street that very day was outstanding.

Outstanding customer service - no matter what happens they will get you going. I had a pedal strike damaging a pedal and they help me out at no charge. Best knowledge, best equipment and best customer service. We have purchased four bikes over the years and we never regretted it. Buying local has its advantages but this shop go above and beyond the call of duty.

We were recently in Lake Tahoe for Americas Most Beautiful Bike Ride and at mile 70 I found that my front tire was damaged. Luckily at this stop Tad was there from Pacos with a mobile bike repair station and he had me back on the road with a new tire quickly. Thanks Tad!

These guys are amazing. They’re running a great operation despite COVID. Fast, helpful and efficient service. I took a brand new bike out that I had bought elsewhere. I quickly found the hanger was bent, took it over, they fixed it right up in 2mins and did it for free. Can’t rate them highly enough.

Pacos is a great shop and staff are very knowledgable and not just trying to sell something to you for the sake of it. I had a binding break on my X country ski and the staff at Pacos took care of it very efficiently and under warranty. Even though I did not purchase the binding from them and I was referred to them by Salomon. The guys were very understanding and took a no hassle approach to rectify the problem.

Great experience at Paco’s. Shipped my mountain bike there for the Tahoe Trail 100. My buddy rented a full suspension trail bike from them as well. Great service. Very helpful and eager to share their knowledge of the local trail system. Will gladly use them again in the future.

One of the best bike shops I’ve been to and there’s been a few. Stopped in about renting a bike because the one I’m on has been through the shredder. Talked to the mechanic who said to pop it out of the trunk and he went to town on it. Fixed it up like it was new. Not saying that what you should expect, I got lucky, but this place is legit. Super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful.

I stopped in with my girlfriend who needed replacement Shimano brake pads (for a current model). Within 45 seconds the shop employee used his “great knowledge” to make her feel unwelcome and second guess her brake model. She brought pictures of her brakes & pads, and he then sold her the wrong set. We returned the pads and purchased on Amazon. They arrived in less than 24 hours.Sadly, this elitist treatment has become common place. I’ve invested $500 in tools to replace the need for bike mechanics.

Fantastic experience buying Nordic skiing (cross country skiing) gear from Eric. The guy was both an active biker, and a backcountry xc skier. He knew his stuff and really helped us out.The store itself has around two dozen types of skis it seemed, catering from total beginners like us to hardcore racers who need a $179 dollar tiny tube of specialty racing wax. They also have beer on tap, and Nordic ski races on the tv (presumably biking videos during the summer). They also did us a huge favor and stayed a half hour after closing to finish our gear setup and binding installation. I saw them find ways to fit in a few other people who came in late in the day looking for a wax or tune up. Great people who live what they sell, and seem very willing to go the extra mile to fix up your gear when you need it quickly.

I rented a Mtn bike for 4 days to explore the TRT, Floom and surrounding trails with friends from Virginia. My experience with Pacos couldnt have been better, the service, quality of bike and friendly staff were allowed amazing. Russell, the owner gave us tips on trails and accurate directions. We definitely wouldnt have had this epic trip without Pacos help. They are starting a bar/cafe within the shop along with community rides very soon. Ill be back to Truckee again next year and will rent another bike from Russell at Pacos.

Paco’s Bike shop is OUTSTANDING. They are the most professional customer-driven bicycle shop I have ever dealt with. Russell, the owner, has built a customer focused business that is unsurpassed. If you have any need of a bicycle shop in the Tahoe basin, Paco’s Bike and Ski is the place to go!!!My story ….. I had my bicycle shipped from Florida to Paco’s for a bicycle vacation in Tahoe, CA. When it arrived at Paco’s, the carbon frameset on my Specialized Roubaix was damaged. I saw the damage on Sunday morning. On Monday morning at 9AM, they had the local Specialized rep at the store to meet me. By 9:30, the rep had found a replacement frameset, ordered it and had a projected arrival at Paco’s the next day by noon. By Tuesday 4PM, Russell and Paco’s team had rebuilt my bike on the new frameset and I was test driving it in his parking lot. That is 3 days from being confronted with a potential disaster, to Paco’s resolving the situation! Russell gave me all the documentation I needed for the insurance claim and by the end of the day on Wednesday, I had received my insurance reimbursement in my PayPal account.Paco’s made this all happen and they saved my bicycling vacation. Thanks to Russell and his Paco’s team!
