Our experience started with a receptive phone call to both Dane and Garret. They both have a Yes We Can type of attitude and gave us a quick pre-diagnosis by phone along with a pretty quick drop off time. When we dropped off our 750Li BMW with Dane, it was a hot mess and would not move. He quickly greeted us at his shop and brought us inside to setup expectation. The interior of the shop office was nice, clean and organized. You can tell these people take pride in their shop. The staff here seem like hard workers and Dane is very knowledgeable and ready to answer your questions with a competent and quick response each and every time. This shop clearly knows what they are doing. Dane presented us with a few options to pick from. Considering this was a pretty complex repair job, we were surprised he could do it because many shops are not advanced enough to handle something like this. From start to finish, he was able to sort parts and repair both the mechatronics computer and our transmission. This shop is capable of doing other repairs as well from what we could see. My transmission starting slipping on the way home from vacation. I was able to get it back to AAMCO. I spoke with Dane and he gave me a reasonable quote for a rebuild. His crew was able to get it rebuilt in just a couple days. I had some concerns after the rebuild and he addressed each of them. Since the rebuilt Ive had my u-joints and slip yoke replaced. Truck is running better than the day I bought it. Would recommend.

Wow! Really great service and quality. I had a lot of things wrong with my truck including the transmission and they fixed it all in 2 days! I thought it was a joke when they called and told me it was ready. The last place I had a transmission replaced in took 6 weeks and cost a lot more. This is the first repair shop that I have been to that was honest, priced fair, and did what they said they would do. Highly recommend.

I recently bought a 2013 Accord from a dealership and started having transmission issues after a few weeks of owning the vehicle. After taking it to two different dealerships with no success, Dane gave me very specific instructions to take it directly to Aamco when the vehicle had a hard shift like I was experiencing sporadically. He said the key was to leave it running so they could correctly identify the code to fix the problem. Last week this all took place and within 10 minutes the issue was correctly identified. Had a transmission replaced with a warranty. 3 months later started having issues. Was asked to bring it back by 2 times. Took it with an appointment the first time no help. Took it with an appointment 2nd time it sat there almost 2 weeks nothing was done. They told me they didnt wanna replace the transmission again if theres a possibility that it could not be the problem. I needed to carry it to the dealer to verify its a transmission issue because they dont have the tools they need to verify it. But you had them when you told me you could replace the transmission at a tune of $3600. Now that you have made the money you wont honor your warranty.

My 2007 Tacoma had a shudder coming from the transmission/torque converter. Dane and his team diagnosed the issue and had my transmission rebuilt in less than two days. I was impressed with the turnaround time considering one of the days was New Years Eve. Dane provided good customer service and I thought the repair bill was fair. I have driven around 2,000 miles since the rebuild and have had no issues. This was my first experience with an AAMCO, but I would certainly recommend them for any transmission work.

Wonderful staff, does great work at reasonable cost.

My car has had an oil leak for a while, but we werent aware of the effects that could have on other parts of the car. After it suddenly quit starting, we had it towed to AAMCO inTrussville. They found the oil leak and also that the oil had been dripping onto the starter, which caused serious erosion. They repaired the leak and replaced the starter at a cost that was very reasonable.

Very nice and helpful people, even drove me to my hotel when i needed a ride from the shop. Great experience!

Highly recommend! These guys do more than transmissions. I had an idle issue but my ‘check engine’ light was not on. Another local shop could not diagnose the problem, and told me to wait until the light came on. These guys diagnosed and fixed it in 1 day. Great customer experience through the whole process.

Based on prior experience i took my Grandsons car to Aamco. I was given information on what was wrong with the car, how much it would cost and how long it would take to fix it. The car was fixed for the price quoted and we got the car back in time promised. I was very satisfied with their service.

I have used the Aamco Transmissions in both CenterPoint and Trussville over the past 13 years. I have always had a pleasant experience with the staff and the buildings were always clean and well-kept. I have always had great work done on my multiple vehicles over the years and pricing was reasonable. I never felt as if they tried to upcharge me or sell me services for my car that I didnt need at the time. I would highly recommend this company.

Family member got a rebuilt 4l60e from them, not even 10000 miles or 5 months and the trans locked up. Called any they said there was no way it was their transmission so I assumed it was the engine. Pulled the engine with transmission from the truck and found that trans was Locked up right with the engine having good compression and cylinder leakage. They will not warranty the transmission due to it having pulled it from the truck even though they assured it was not the trans from the get go and said they can not warranty it due to them being under new management now as well. Pathetic

Complaint Description:Transmission did not last 5 months or 12k miles, now warranty is not being honored. In March of 2018 my transmission gave up in my truck. My family had been using Aamco Trussville since the doors opened, so obviously I would trust them with mine. In July my truck started making noise one morning, next thing I know it had locked up tight before I could even react. Could not even turn the crank with a socket and all the spark plugs out. I called Aamco in Trussvile just to make sure it couldnt be the trans they had just rebuilt . I was assured that there was no way a transmission failure could cause an engine to seize like that and they would be happy to price me some engine work. Being in the auto industry myself, I decided I woukd price and engine and install it myself eventually since I had another form of transportation to get me by. Well here I am in Jan. of 19, still in warranty. I have pulled my motor and behold, the transmission is locked up tight, WILL NOT TURN. Motor turns fine now that it is disconnected and has great compression on all cylinders. I contacted Aamco Trussville to tell them my situation and was fully expecting them to be gentlemen and fess up to their mistake. As soon as I mentioned it was out of the truck and I could bring it down for them to see, I was told it would not be under warranty because I pulled it. The only reason I pulled it is because we were all under the assumption (including Aamco) my motor was locked up. They are now saying they are under new management with new staff and cant take my word for someone else that was in the previous staff telling me what they did. Well, Aamco of Trussville is Aamco of Trussville.I just want my truck back. My wife is a stay at home mom and Ive been driving her only form of transportation lately. This is a strange position for both of us to be in, I understand that. But whats right is whats right. I work hard and am an honest man. I feel like I am being taken advantage of and thrown away because they have all the customers they need. I know places like this, cant stand by the product, rotate staff. Cycle continues.

I brought my VW Routan to Trussville AAMCO after my transmission had a couple of slips. It wasnt something that happened often, but this car is known for transmission issues once it gets high in miles; currently Im at 167k.Perry, the service manager, was able to take what little information I could give him about the problem, give me a basic diagnosis and ask me to drop it off so they could look at it.I dropped it off that evening and the VERY NEXT morning he called, said he could reproduce the problem, find the faults and proposed the fix. No surprise to me, it did require a complete service on the transmission but they were able to resolve the issue within a day and a half. For additional peace of mind, the repair came with a warranty thats good at any AAMCO.I cant imagine taking it to any other shop though. These guys are friendly, fast professionals.The car is now spinning like a top and I could not be happier with my service.Thanks guys!
