First time here to pick up some material for two projects I was working on. What a great place. It was like being a kid in a candy store. There remnant section is huge. Caesar was awesome to work with helped me get exactly what I was looking for. My very small order was handled professionally. I will be back again. One thing to note... Make sure to park in one of the will call spots. This way when your order is ready they bring it out and help you load it. Awesome service.

Beautiful building, nice to shop I side. I recommend buying in full lengths, or bring a truck. The cost for cutting steel tube is more than the cost of the tube! $20 per cut. Their prices are a bit steep, but that is expected. $20 a cut isnt expected. Make sure you know what you need before paying, or asked about the price before you commit to purchasing.

I had a great experience at IMS. The team there are great. The manager Lonnie took time out of his day. To personally help me with any questions. To top it off there pricing is great. At a time where the prices on everything are climbing it’s great to know. There are places that care about the consumer, and just want to help.

If you like to work with metal this is a metalworkers Disneyland. You need it they got it. Prices are comparable to the standard market prices. Sales people are very helpful and will carry heavy items to your car for you. Jose is my wife and my favorite salesman. If your in the area dont miss it. Ask for Jose.

What can I say? Metal is not cheap. It would be more convenient if there site would display a price for all custom metals. Well that explains why they dont display a firm price upon pricing there metal.

Great. Second purchase of galvanized steel poles, 8 long for stock fencing gates. Managed to get two matching lengths in their remnants room at a decent price. Much better quality/thickness than big home box store fencing poles.

These people keep changing their prices! Gave our workers one descent price. We go to get it & the price more than doubled. Called back the next day & they raised the price yet again. The written invoice didnt add up. It totaled wrong. They are rude. They hung up on us. We will never shop there. I gave one star because there is no option for no star.

I am new to the world of metal fabrication. Had an idea for a tool to turn on the lathe and just needed a small piece of brass. Googled metal supply and ended up in this playground! Wow. They have a lot of stuff and some good signage, but I still felt that I needed more education to be a better customer. I think that I bought what I needed...wish I was more certain. IMS is really geared toward those who know what they are doing. I am glad that they are in my city.

Extremely overpriced for metal. Ordered 1 20 4 w #13 I Beam, and 1 20 2x4 14 Guage metal stud. $110 cheaper at superior steel. Also I did not have to deal with a self entitled, completely ignorant of metal, sales woman.

This place is insanely expensive. With a few exceptions everything I have ever priced there is literally double or more than what I pay elsewhere. This place should only be used as a last resort. I know I’m going to pay more when I go there but I am still blown away every time.I tried to post this review like five times but kept getting the message below. It’s a wonder they don’t have more one star ratings. I wonder if they pay Google.

Great customer service!

This place is big and, obviously, industrial. However, I’m just a simple hobbyist and I found exactly what I needed here at great prices. I just needed a few square inches of brass bar and a few inches of brass tube, for a knife making project. Not only did they have it, the selection and prices were 10x better than the big box stores. Their “scrap room” is perfect for someone like me, just looking for a little material. So, hobbyists, try this place out.That being said, my wait was pretty long, as other reviews have mentioned. Small trade off for good material, but worth fixing.

I love this place and most of the employees are really nice. Sometimes it takes forever to get your stuff. You sit for about 15 min and then you stand, and then you pace.... just dont go if your in a hurry.

Metal City! These guys have it! Can be pricey for specialty items, however that is just the way it goes... The clerk saved me a small fortune by helping me find what I needed in the back area where they keep cut-offs and semi-scrap. If you visit make sure you look around and explore all options. Awesome stock of virtually ANY steel product you could want, and if they dont have it, they can order it in quickly!Also, great for the hobbyist and home machinist, as they sell small quantities at reasonable prices. When ordering by mail from other suppliers in the past, like I used to, the freight charges were frequently more than the metal cost. Now I get it all at IMS, dont have to wait, and there are no freight charges.Wish they would stock leaded steel, as it is great for making small steam engines. You always get a mirror finish.I LOVE this place!

If youve ever bought a piece of angle iron, metal plate, etc. at a big box store, youve been ripped off. Sorry. The stuff doesnt cost that much, not even close. Try Industrial Metal Supply.IMS is the biggest supplier of metal stock in Tucson. That means steel (mild steel, stainless, tool steel) and aluminum, in sheets, bars, tubes, plates, for manufacturing, construction, and other things. Other things include hobbies, art, tinkering, and DIY. Thats why you should know about it. Theyre ready to sell you multiple tons of I beams on a moments notice, but if you need three feet of aluminum tube, youll feel just as welcome.See the web site for the basics. Like a hardware store, its a good idea to go in and wander around for half an hour to learn what they have. The Phoenix store has a lot of things in stock that Tucson doesnt, if thats in your range, but if not theyll get it send over for you, usually the next day.The back room has remnants--pieces cut off or left over from other orders, sold by the pound. Note though that theyll cut you a four-foot piece of just about anything, which may be cheaper.

I have bought steel in Tucson for over 50 years ...What a pain ...I found IMS now i can see what i need on display.The crew working the floor have always been a great help and friendly.I think you get what you give.

Called yesterday was told they had what I needed for x amount. Came in today and not only are they about rude they are also stupid. Tried to charge me double what I was quoted.

Big selection, great prices and its always kept clean. The check out lines can get a little long and slow.

Good company- but mail box is not secured and there have been 2 incidences we and another company have been a part of regarding stolen/fraudulent check issues related to mailing this vendor payments.

This place is awesome

Very disappointed! They had to special order a piece of fairly common steel tubing after I waited almost 15 mins for them to tell me they did not have it in stock. While I was there I bought a welding table which I returned the next day un--opened and was charged a 15% restocking fee. When I protested the sales rep literally shrugged his shoulders and said company policy. Oh, and it took them nearly an hour to tell me that my special order piece of steel tubing was in. I actually had to call 3 times before I was able to speak to someone in the Tucson store. Dismal customer experience. 1 star because they have a really nice display of metal that they do not stock, otherwise 0 stars. I hope this review is worth the $10 they made on the restocking fee.
