I took my daughters car here back in Sept for some noises it was making and that is when I was introduced to Steve. He is WONDERFUL. He called and told me what was wrong, what it needed, provided the old parts, and made sure it was in solid working condition before putting my daughter back on the road in it! Now just recently the A/C has not been working properly so again I took the car to Steve yesterday. He had it fixed and in and out in several hours. He is wonderful, knowledgeable and caring. This Aamco is also very reasonable. I would HIGHLY recommend taking your cars to this location.

This place is bad, they messed up my transmission AND tried to sell me a bunch of stuff i didnt need (scammers) and tried to even sell me stuff THEY MESSED UP. Took it to some real mechanics and they did it up perfectly. If i had more proof id sue them. Maybe these guys can handle a 2006 Chevy cobalt, but dont take anything performance or luxury to them Its just too much for them to handle. Garbage. After Aamco responded and I talked with them and picked up the car I am editing my review. Not everything in their response makes sense. I am happy with the work that was done. I am still not happy that “what they expected” was $1000 more than the starting price. If it was “what they expected” why couldn’t they tell the customer so I could make a better I formed decision up front? In the end the price was about $300 less and that helps me to feel a little better.I have the car back it has driven 1600 miles no problems. And I have the only warranty that works nationwide. This is why I came to Aamco in the first place.Here is the original review:I came to Aamco because of the nationwide warranty. They told me it “starts at $1900 and goes up from there.”As we I asked more questions to get an idea of what to expect and I was told “the only things that make it go up much are ‘hard’ parts needing to be replaced, that we don’t expect to be needed here”I authorized the work to start and after it was pulled out and disassembled today they called and told me “it is what we expected. Just the clutch plated and the rear planetary need replaced” so the cost $2900+! (Just for trans plus $300++ for the brakes) I wish I made as much money as these guys do so that $1000 extra is not much!Notice the only work that needs to be done is “what we expected” not the “hard” parts that are what makes the price go up much.I need the trans fixed and if they had been more transparent about costs I could have made a more informed decision for my daughter. The car is definitely worth $1900 of work. $2900?!?! Not so much.So I am sure the work is going to be good and it is the best warranty I can get for this work. I should have asked them what “much” means. I was trying to get as much specific information as possible and I let that vague word slip in that is my mistake.The work is not finished yet so I can’t review that yet but I can only recommend so far based on the warranty. I was told by another place that my transmission mount needed to be replaced. I wanted a second opinion and went to AAMCO Transmission to ask them how soon it needed to be replaced. They got me in quickly and took a look at it. They were honest with me and said it could wait 6 months. They gave me great service and werent out for my money. I highly recommend them.

Drove down from Showlow AZ had a massive shake in the front end and vehcile was just starting to over heat. They diagnosed wheel bearings wheel balance and alignment and the front pusher fan was not engaging its high speed. I was in and out within a day and it drives like new! Cadillac smooth..... I had my transmission fluid changed this morning and I will be back for the next one.

They completely messed up my daughters vehicle. When I ran a google search for my sons vehicle today and Aamco came up with such high ratings it made me sick. I feel like I need to warn everyone. I definitely wouldnt trust them with another vehicle.They had my daughters vehicle for over a month. She had to bring it in several times after their initial diagnosis and repair, the owner continued to renig on his offers and warranties and it runs worse now than when she first brought it in. I would never recommend them.

I own a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup that I use on the ranch to pull stock trailers, etc. The transmission is slipping a little meaning that it probably needs a change of fluid, filter, etc. I called them for an estimate for this service and was told that they could not estimate without checking it out on their lift and testing for computer problems, blah, blah blah. Well I live in Willcox, AZ (85 miles) distance and without knowing the limits of the cost, its like giving them a blank check. I can see myself, 85 miles from home and they have the vehicle on a rack with the pan off putting me pretty much at their mercy for whatever price they think I might be willing to pay. (Ive been there and done that.) I dont trust a business that wont give you a maximum/minimum price range.

They can and they will First off the guys here are polite respectful and knowledgeable I came in because my Air conditioner was blowing hot air and they provided me with a free estimate that estimate was done on point and to the T they didn’t push,Hound or haggle me to buy things I didn’t need they evaluated the issue and solved it the cost was very minimal and the timing was on point I recommend them to anyone who has a job that needs to be tackled in this world where crazy things are happening you where the light to my tunnel Thank you To everyone at Aamco you are amazing.

I am only giving them 1 star because I have to. Zero stars is not an option. I am completely shocked and disappointed with my experience with Aamco. They completely ruined my vehicle. They mis-diagnosed a spark plug issue that ended up messing up the engine. They had my vehicle for over a month. Every time they promised something they re-neg’d on it and continued to try to charge me more money every time I went back even though I was told I had a warranty. Please beware if you choose to go there.

I had three men help me find and capture two feral kittens out of my engine. They were kind compassionate to me and the kittens. I support that you bring your car to this store. They understand engines they understand that small intricacies which is how we found the kittens. They will find your problem. Please support this store. Theyre fabulous. And theyre kind. The gentleman here rebuilt my transmission and replaced various parts, they kept me in the loop and were very professional, they even found a fuel leak that anyone could have missed even myself, the price was more than reasonable. Im more than satisfied with the service, my car actually feels like a new car, and will definitely be in the family for years to come.

Until I went here I thought most companies gave up on the bait and switch tactic. I called these guys and asked for the highest possible estimate for a total clutch replacement. I was told 1700$. Its a little high but I figured these people are experts in transmission work so I brought my truck in and left. The next day I was callled and the person told me that the new price for the work would be 2500$. Then they tried to justify and double talk a reason for the nearly double price increase. I had my truck towed elsewhere and left with a newfound lack of trust in mechanics. They maybe experts with transmissions and have friendly salespeople but honesty is not a part of their mission statement.I have to update my review as I received a call regarding my review. I have to give the employees at aamco credit. They are very polite and friendly. They are courteous and when there was a problem Jake followed up the very next day. I appreciate their concern about a bad review. The reputation is difficult to shake when people think youre pulling a scam. I would like to think that they simply made a mistake and it wont happen again. But I took my truck to another shop and got a quote that was half what aamco wanted. Best part was that they did it for the price they quoted and it was 1200$ less.For what its worth, thats my opinion.

I have been to this AAMCO several times in my old vehicle and now with my new one. I have searched long and hard for a place I can trust and I am happy to say I think I have found it. Twice I have taken my vehicle in and they did quick inspections and, get this, they said everything was fine! They did not try and say I needed a bunch of work or that something was about to go out. I feel they were honest. Also, they are reasonably priced!

My car needed a new clutch, engine mount and front struts along with an alignment. AAMCO did all the work in 2 days giving me a car that now drives like its brand new. Chris was fantastic in keeping me posted and answering my questions. The price was right and the work & parts are guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles. YOU CANT BEAT THAT!

I was extremely satisfied and highly impressed with the customer service and staff approach at AAMCO. The staff members were extremely helpful in helping us understand the issues going on with our vehicles--two vehicles with two completely different issues. The first vehicle didnt end up having a significant problem, and the second vehicle had transmission issues that they were willing to look into before giving us suggestions for repairs.After diagnosing the problem and suggesting a repair, we were given a fair estimate for the cost. A little while later, they called again and told us that even though our vehicle was listed as a salvage vehicle it may still be under a different warranty; they suggested calling our dealership to see if we could get the repairs done at no cost instead. Our vehicle did fall under this warranty, so we ended up taking the car to the dealership instead of getting the issue fixed here.Nevertheless, this whole experience has given me respect for this location and the staff members on site. I would highly recommend coming here for any vehicle issues, and we plan on coming here for any issues we may have in the future.

I have owned my vehicle (2005 Honda Odyssey) for 2 and a half years and have had little issues since I bought it. I have ignored them because the issues were consistent and predictable. Over a long trip with my family things got way worse; to the point I was concerned for my families safety.I went into AAMCO expecting to have to replace my Transmission. After an initial inspection the staff recommended a lower cost possible fix first, but wanted to ensure we were looking at the right thing. So, they had another mechanic within the shop ride with me to duplicate the issues.After the ride and the mechanic was clear on what was happening, he did a more detailed inspection, and the staff suggested maintenance that was low cost and could be done quickly. Not only that, they knew the quick maintenance would not be done at their shop.After a few hours of diagnosis and recommendations, the AAMCO staff saved me a lot of money and their recommendation was spot on. I would highly recommend anyone to the honest and fair work they do. Thank you AAMCO!

Took my wifes 2000 Honda Passport down to the shop to see if a transmission issue could be fixed. After taking a look they gave me a straight answer about what I was looking at and told me it probably wasnt worth trying to fix the problem (the parts are not even in circulation anymore). I left the shop with no charge and excellent advice. I would definitely bring any future vehicle issues to them. Totally professional.

My boyfriend and I went to this location to check on his car’s transmission fluid. Christian helped us immensely and was honest and extremely helpful in offering us advice with maintenance on the car, and made us feel comfortable and confident in AAMCO’s service. Friendly service, visiting area when transmission died on weekend. Got us towed in and rebuilt the transmission and on our way very quickly. Car made 350 mile trip home with no problem. I am sure it will do just fine for the long run.

They wrote on my invoice that my brake pads were down to 3 and would need to be replaced soon. Its hard to find an honest mechanic these days. I was referred to Jeff with AAMCO by a gentleman named Sergio that works at Grease Monkey that is directly next to them. My husband and I have trusted Grease Monkey for 3 years since being in Tucson, AZ and really do love their service and they have VERY reasonable prices.We recently were involved in an accident- and instead of getting a nother car payment, we decided to fix up our older vehicle. The vehicle had been sitting for sometime and we took it to Grease Monkey to get the Transmission flushed, the Cooling/Radiator serviced/flushed etc. They brought up some serious concerns to us and recommended Jeff to fix our major repairs. Jeff was extremely honest, polite and we quickly began to build a trusting relationship. We were on a strict budget and Jeff recommended to us what we needed to do to get the vehicle road safe and to help us stay within our budget. Not only did he fufill that promise but he did it with quality, accuracy and very timely. Our vehicle didnt sit at the shop for weeks at a time to get something fixed and he was very upfront on his schedule to get it in. Because of the kindness he showed, and the trust we have built with him- he will hands down be the only mechanic we use for all of our vehicles as long as we live in Tucson. I can not say enough good things about him. Ive been dealing with Chris, Bill and their top shelf mechanic Manny for a while - and they are on my Go to list whenever I have an issue on my older Chevy truck (34 years!) that I cant take care of myself. A lot of shops will just laugh and tell me they wont work on it - not this crew. They dig right in, find the problem and fix it RIGHT for a very fair price.Im shocked the reviewer 2 reviews back gave them one star. Its obvious to me she doesnt know a THING about automotive air conditioning systems and the correct procedure for repairing them. Perhaps she should let her son man up and take care of fixing his own vehicle and stop being a helicopter Mom. ;-)

From the first moment you go to a mechanic shop, your guard is up. It’s the same with brakes, tires, engine, AC, whatever. Nobody wants to pay too much. Despite facing that every day, Chris and Bill consistently spend the time to help me navigate the problem and find a solution. There is no real pressure, just lots of patience while I sort out the “Do I do it or don’t I?” question and get to the answer. They are ready for and handle every question that I have, don’t mince words and do all of it with tact. Ask Chris about the “Turkish Bazaar” pricing. There’s a special place in his heart for that. He’ll love you for it.Our professional relationship started a couple of years ago with a transfer case problem. They solved it but at a risk of losing my business. It was a fix this before you fix that kind of thing. First, there was a differential problem that was a specialist thing and they weren’t equipped for it. AAmco referred me to a couple of places that were differential specialists and I picked one to take care of that part. It would have been convenient to stay and get the transfer case fixed there too. It would have been about the same amount of money and I’d save time, but that’d be a jack wagon thing to do to AAmco. So after getting that diff problem sorted out and fixed, it was back to AAmco where they took care of the transfer case problem and got me going fast.Then it was my son’s car that they fixed, on two occasions and with different issues. I think it was two but might have been three. It was the starter, A/C and something 2000+/-, so BIG $$ for a kid. The work and transaction were transparent each time and went off without a hitch.The truck maintenance continued. The next thing was a difficult fix on a hard to duplicate noise. After a couple of drives, once on the freeway - they found it and fixed it and the truck was out making money again. And they were fast, did I mention that? They always are.This last time it was another 4wd problem that I couldn’t figure out. It was stuck in 4wd with no reason. Expecting it to take an unknown amount of time to sort out, plan and fix, I set aside a day of shop time and dropped it off the night before – just in case. An hour or two later I got the call that a connector had worked loose, locking it in 4wd hi. Hmm… Wow. Fixed and I got it back a day early. There are any number of different ways they could have handled things, but straight forward continues to be their way. I got a call saying, “All fixed. Come and get it. We didn’t do much so no charge.”Wow again.It’s a long drive for me to get to their shop. And while it’s not exactly convenient to have my mechanic 20 miles away, I know that when we have any kind of problem with any vehicle, AAmco will get first crack at it because they always come through.

I was told by my Toyota dealer and two other shops that I needed a new transmission. The cost was between 3k-5k. My friend had her brakes done at Aamco and recommended I take my car to them based on her previous experiences there. She said they saved her money on her brake jobs and all other maintenance issues and said they,(Chris) were the only honest mechanics in Tucson.Turned out my $5,000 transmission was a $400 wiring issue. I called aamco around 2 pm asked if I could get my transmission looked out because it was leaking. They said bring it in as soon as you get here. 30 minutes in the shop they said ok your car is good to go. They fixed the seals on my car quickly.
