I have tried 3 different Audiologist Centers and called many more and Dr Weaver is by far the most knowledgeable, expert and caring. He takes the time to explain everything about aids and to adjust the hearing aids for exactly what you need. It may be more expensive than Costco, but the technology in the Aids he provides and the adjusting and support he provides is absolutely better than Costcos. -- I researched different technologies of hearing aids at length. And the fitting and programming of my hearing aids is critical. My ears are difficult since I am in many complex hearing situations where background noise conflicts with speech I need to hear. I am at conferences, doing outdoors sports, and in my own acupuncture practice, I need to hear people who are face down on a treatment table. I also have ear canals difficult to fit since they are small and twisty. Hearing aids have to be fitted and programmed properly. Overall, if you want and need the best assistance, Dr Weaver provides it.

I have been working with San Rafael Hearing for years. Their customer service is off the charts. Their pricing was very affordable and their hearing aids are amazing. David Weaver fit me with hearing aids and he was very nice. The hearing aids are very comfortable too.

I have a genetic condition that led to me losing about 90 percent of my hearing in my forties. I am 64 now and have used Riley Barney/San Rafael as my sole audiologist for over two decades. Yes, I could find cheaper hearing aids via Amazon, eBay or Costco, but the saying “you get what you pay for” is especially true with hearing aids. I’ve had to go in for help when my hearing aid (which are pretty fragile electronic instruments) has gone on the fritz.Due to cost, I have been wearing one aid in my right ear for years. I drive for Uber and a hearing aid in my right ear enables me to hear my riders. I cannot say enough in praise of the support Riley has give me. He is awesome. I don’t think I would get the high quality, personal attention from a chain store or some place like Costco. You get what you pay for, and I’m willing to pay Riley’s rates. Many times he has done some emergency repair for me and when I ask what it costs his reply is “free dollars.”Riley is a great person (as is his wife/office manager, Tannis) and will get be my go-to audiologist as long as he’s in business!UPDATE: Lo and behold, the day after writing this review I decided to schedule a hearing test. I stopped in at San Rafael and asked to set up an appointment with Riley, only to be told that he recently RETIRED and he and his wife had moved back to Utah! I was shocked! I’m seeing his former partner for a hearing test tomorrow, so I guess life goes on...

Go to Costco and save 40-50%. I paid $5200 plus in 2013, at San Rafael and in 2017 I could purchase the same hearing aids for $3800 at Costco!
