Came in to have a car stereo installed and the 4 or 5 people standing behind the counter couldnt even be bothered to come out and speak to me. Went up to ask questions and the tall guy with tattoo sleeves on both arms acted like he had better things to do with his time. He quoted me almost $400 in installation fees and couldnt be bothered to even give me a breakdown when I asked why the free installation was so high. At that point I didnt feel comfortable asking anymore questions as he was being downright rude so we left and went to Best Buy. Found a nicer stereo there and paid roughly $60 for the kit and harness I was told would cost $200 at Car Toys. Best Buy doesnt even make commission yet the sales lady there had plenty of time to answer my very simple questions and schedule my install. Id avoid the weird hostile vibe this place has and go see Kyla at the Tukwila BB.Also, whats the point of having a sign on the door saying masks are required, if customers walk in to see employees not wearing masks?

I brought in equipment that I wanted installed that was not adequate for what I wanted. I ended up purchasing new subs from the car toys store. The original subs I brought with me were disposed of without my knowledge. I would have liked to have been given the option to keep them and I was not. The store actually compensated me for the subs that were disposed of. Car Toys did great work on my installation but they also had to forfeit some of the prophet to compensate me. This would have not been necessary if they had just asked if I wanted my subs before they threw them out. Overall, I was very satisfied with the installation and the store manager was very understanding and made sure I was satisfied with the service. So, I definitely give them 5 stars for the service overall.

My daughter scheduled an appointment as a Birthday/Fathers day gift. Somehow it didnt get properly registered in their system. When we showed up there was no record of the appointment, but the manager made it right and fit my install in on the same day. Excellent customer service.

I LOVE this store. Actually, every Car Toys I’ve ever been too has been great. I highly recommend going in to one of their locations if you’re thinking about anything to do with your car. I swear they can do anything. They tinted my windows, added a remote start, they can even do lighting, and of course they detail! The girl manager there is amazing. So knowledgeable, I wish I grabbed her name. As soon as I walked in they all greeted me, even took a technician out to my car to show me everything they have to offer. Some things I never would have guessed. Alberto was the technician working on my car and he’s outstanding. The wait was a little long but if you plan it out before you go there, they had my car done same day so it was fine. Car Toys is such a great company and their employees reflect that. Thank you so much!!

Ive had my cars detailed at many places, including once at the same Car Toys 2 years ago. This was the only time that I couldnt feel that smoothness on the paint afterwards. There was a layer of pollen on the surface already when I picked up the car. I couldnt see the shine of tire dressing. Nobody came out to walk around the car with me; I saw my finished car on the lot, went in to pay and left. A trip to a Brown Bear car wash would have cost me a fraction of time and money, and it probably would have come out looking better.

I went in for a car detailing as a gift. The car did need a lot of work, because there was a spilled protein drink that was found that did cause mold. Overall, the car came out very clean, and was pleased with the final cleanliness of the product. However, the most frustrating part was that I was given multiple wrong quotes to upgrade my car detailing experience. It was not a good experience because I would agree, and then the price would change later to a higher price. It started off fine when I agreed to upgrade from a basic detail to a medium detail for an extra $68. It made sense to me, so I paid it. I was then offered a disinfection spray and quoted $25, and then it later bumped up to $40, because of extra cost of labor. Then I got talked into shampoo for the carpet and seats and the shampoo was $80. I researched online and that markup was more expensive than the online rate for an ultimate package upgrade (the top upgrade) and had to call back to say I still wanted the upgrade but not the extra markup. Additionally, it took a very long time to get the final pickup for my car. I was thinking about getting a back up camera here but due to customer experience will not be returning.

I came in looking to add Apple Car Play to my vehicle and he showed me exactly what I was looking for and did not try to up-sell me or take advantage of the fact that I didn’t know much about car stuff. Instillation was quick and easy and my new radio looks awesome!

I would not trust these people with my car again. The assistant store manager “Rock” was incredibly slow in getting the job done. He said I’d have my car back the same day and they ended up having to keep it overnight. When I came to get my car, I saw one of their techs “testing” the vehicle by burning rubber out of the parking lot in it. I have a witness (my boyfriend) who can attest to this. “Rock” was so incredibly rude when I tried explaining to him that getting to their location from west Seattle where I live was very difficult due to the bridge being out. When I told him about the tech burning rubber in my car he brushed it off like I was lying.One of the features I had installed, a blind spot monitor, constantly beeps at me when I’m on the freeway. It’s incredibly distracting to the point of being hazardous. Against my better judgement I called the shop to ask if there was anything I could do without bringing it in (dealing with these people again was the last thing I wanted to do). I was told the “brain” of the device had been mounted in a hard-to-reach area and to bring it back in.This time I was dealing with the store manager, Brad. When I explained the situation to Brad and expressed wanting it either fixed or removed and refunded, I was told I was out of the return window and would need to pay for whatever they do to solve the problem. When I described how poorly the tech handled my car last time, Brad started going on about how nice and expensive the car is that the tech drives - like that makes any difference at all. Hey, Brad: I’ll bet I bang my boyfriend a lot gentler than I’d bang your girlfriend. Just saying.So I’m due to take it back in a few days. We’ll see what happens I guess. Don’t do business with these people. They’re a store full of idiots who refuse to be accountable for the lousy work they do. It’s all ridiculously overpriced, anyway. I’ve since looked online at the same devices and they’re marked up at Car Toys like you would not believe. My advice, unless you’re just trying to waste money: buy from Amazon and have installation done by a trusted local mechanic.

Stereo sounds good after install, but I give this a 1 due to the customer service. Very very pushy salesman, left out so much information of the installation and the prices for the stereo with installation. I would not recommend going to this one if you don’t like to be bombarded by salesman and trying to get you to buy extra constantly.

Treated like a bottom feeder from the beginning because I had a car detail from Groupon. Do not waste your time or money. You can do a better job yourself at Brown Bear and cheaper.Came in on a Sunday right when they opened. Was there in the area for almost 4 hours with two small children. No phone call whatsoever stating what was happening or that I needed to reschedule?! Then was told that my car had not even been touched and that I needed to bring it back in. Inexcusable! This is how you treat people?! You can’t even call them to let them know what’s going on?Then I was promised free shampooing on my seats and floor when I brought my car back four days later...none of that happened LOL! If anything the new detailing guy wanted to charge me additional $25 (not his fault)...Store manager could care less and didn’t even apologize for what had happened and had no interest whatsoever.Boo! Boo!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Where do I start... Just save your time and go to real professionals. Told me they had everything to do an install. Showed up after work to have them tell me they need a part from bellevue.. 2 days later I finally get them to work on my car just a simple stereo install. 3 hours later they have a bad module and need another part and I have to bring it back on my day off! Not a great way to help an essential health care worker.

Update: car toys told me to email them to resolve my issue. I’ve emailed them twice and ive received no type of response and they won’t even talk to my mechanic. Safe to say I will have to bring an attorney involvedVery upset with their customer service and management. Talked to both mangers about an issue I was having and they both took it as a joke and made fun of the service tech of Subaru. I called for a solution, not a smart remark. Whatever you do don’t go to this location. If you’re looking for auto start in your car, don’t even bother with them. They’ll splice your wiring harness and won’t admit they did a terrible job. I paid over 6,000 dollars for upgrades in my vehicle and I totally regret it. Don’t do business with them

Ripped off again. I got ripped off years ago at a different location and swore Id never go back. But I tried this different location and wow! Same crooked tactics of promising and not delivering. They swore the install would take no more than 1.5 hours. Took 4 hours to put a CD player into my old work truck. It didnt work right so they said I could exchange it. I wasnt going to wait 4 hours for another install so I removed it myself and they tried saying that I couldnt get full price on the refund. I ended up only losing $10 on the deal, but what a pain. Never again. Ill give my money to a small business who values their customers.

I would love to give them 5 stars but theyve had too many things pile up against them for me in just the past 3 day that makes it so i cant support 5 stars. I dropped my car off at 10 in the morning being told it would be done by close, well an hour and a half past close and it was not. The next day the face plate surrounding the radio fell off which they fixed on Tuesday when i went in but the guy smoked in my car. Last but most irritating when another issue came up on the radio they cant get me in for 3 days for something that could be their fault. I get that they already have my money but still they should treat me like trash.

It was kindve a bumpy road dealing with car toys in south center. I was told it was okay to come at 10:30 for an estimated 2 hour appointment. When I arrived they said it would be SIX hours (because they accepted 2 more cars ahead of me unexpectedly) which is a huge difference and can completely disrupt someone’s entire day. But they decided to put some other stuff aside so they could work on my car as promised which was very appreciated. Had some stuff installed in my car but some of the stuff didn’t work. Danny was great (the person who installed my things) but some of the other customer service could’ve been better. They ended up having to take the parts out that didn’t work (they were not exactly sure why they didn’t work) Danny was understanding but it felt like work trying to convince other workers that I deserved a refund. Eventually I got my refund. Not sure if I’d go back to car toys. But I’m satisfied with everything else that was installed in my car and how fast he was while doing it!

This car toys has the worst customer service ever the young Asian guy at the counter was so rude to me and my wife and my wife had to almost correct him and say I guess youre having a bad day they kept on blaming other people for their mistakes saying it was the other peoples fault my car was there for a whole week and still didnt get done what I got my car done we had an intoxalock put in it the guy never explained us anything about the intoxalock which I was thinking he would my wife got stuck on the freeway had to have my car towed back and when we did they told me it was not their responsibility even when the guy from car toys told me to bring it back there just a mess ended up going somewhere else to have it calibrated because I did not want to go back there what are towed it back there I got so angry I actually drove the car home also the bigger gentleman was really rude he basically told my wife that was all her fault great customer service I might have to add in that end telling your customer that theyre wrong and its all their fault is really a great way to communicate I would stay away from this place I hope this place shuts down one day soon it do everyone a favor

Helped me choose the best amp to pair with my new subs, showed me all the things I would need to have the best sound experience. Did a good install but didnt mount my speaker down as I asked them to do also wanted my amp mounted down too..they did mount the amp down but not down to the frame only onto the carpet so when I got home to check the mounting of the amp it just came off so I ended up mounting both amp and speakers myself...I wanted this done so I dont get my stuff stolen...the sales guy recommended me the installer that was the employee of the month. I think his head got to big and left details behind

I had a very bad experience with my service. they didnt doing a good job tinting my car. they damage my door pandal and put a deep scratch on my front windshield. although, they offer to fix the door pandal but they did not take responsibility for the scratch on the windshield. As for the tinting service, i have to bring back it for rework. it was not a good job. i pay good money for their work...but the professional work was was anything but professional. I will Never again go back to Car Toys or recommend their service to anyone that i know.thx. Car Toys.

Wow.. so much.I called the day before and inquired about a specific alarm. The tech gave me my options and I decided on one and then asked if I should schedule for the next day purchase/install and they said to just come in. I came in and around 10 am, purchased the alarm and they said since it wasnt scheduled it would take all day until close for them to be done because they would have to fit it in their schedule.At 11 am I leave my car for then installation and call to check the status at 5:30 pm (6 hours later) and they rudely say itll be done before closing at 8 pm. I get no call until 7:40 saying it is installed. I waited in line forever and no one even acknowledges you. It takes another half hour for me to get my vehicle keys and they say the alarm instructions should be in the empty product box in my vehicle. So I go to my car and the alarm wont go off unless I rock the car pretty hard etc and then there are no instructions in my car and the DAS isnt mounted anywhere I can see. So I go stand in line another 30 minutes for them to have a tech walk me to my vehicle and show me where the sensor is... Two techs go out to my care inspect it for at least 5 minutes and come to the conclusion that it was never installed..... So they never installed the meat of my new alarm??? I had to leave my car overnight for them to put the sensor in the next day. The next day I go in to pick up my vehicle and as I am walking through the door another customer tells me they are having major customer service attitude problems and that I should guard my attitude, that it was going to be bad. WOW. Then there are 2 different other customers at the counter one woman prints off instructions for a man and half throws them at him saying HERE then gets an attitude when that customer asks her to give/get information from the tech. I then wait another half hour to get my vehicle keys and have the tech come to my car and point out the DAS. This time they mounted the blue light in a visible location but the car alarm wouldnt go off until you rocked the car basically. I asked them to turn the sensor up the night before and the tech basically said the alarm wouldnt go off until someone opens the door.....What the heck is the DAS or even the alarm for then?? I asked where the alarm box was so that if I wanted to reset the sensitivity myself I could. He had to remount it and I just left because it was ridiculous. The products and price were good but these employees could care less about their customers. I will NEVER be back here and tell everyone I know to save themselves the time and headache. I got a car detail paid for Christmas and I for sure will not be going to redeem it at that location. I dont write bad reviews but since you are asking I hope you invest in better employees and retrain them for better customer service. I dont want other people to go through that. It was total BS I wished I had videotaped it. I am 100% sure that management will disregard my survey remarks and somehow always make this the customers fault. Service this bad has to take a while to get to this level. It guaranteed is accepted and tolerated by bad management.

Didnt catch the guys name who i did my 17 Malibu but 🔥🔥. I bought a system, two 12s and amp, from someone on Facebook and he was a poor excuse of an installer. Car Toys installer fixed the mistakes and made the system sound better than before. Very happy.

The female manager running the south center location is terribly rude. Parts and labor are horrifyingly expensive. She attempted to charge me $195 for a wiring harness I can buy on Amazon for $24.99. Almost $900 for a basic stereo installation with no amplifier or speakers just stereo and back up camera, Labor only. We had a 9am, however we sat there for eight hours while the tech intermittently worked on our car. I also overheard other customers yelling at the manager about Vehicle turnaround times. If you value time and money do not shop here.

Some of the best customer service I’ve received, especially in hard times like these. As soon as I walked in everyone was available to help me and no one was too pushy. The manager there was extremely professional and she was very kind. I would definitely recommend going to get a car stereo installed here! Very friendly staff!

Walked in to this location and was quickly greeted by Alex welcoming me into their establishment..we quickly start talking about my wants to upgrade my sound system which I know I needed a stereo badly he showed me the difference between what swapping my speakers and adding an amp would do for me...then after showing me all my options he then turns a subwoofer on with the speakers Im now blown away!! Instantly I tell him take my money! I am now a happy owner of a full sound system and would do it again..please when going in there go work with Alex Murphy he doesnt cut any corners and tells you like it is I promise you will leave with a smile on your face! Grade A customer service and gave me 2 follow up calls letting me know how my vehicle was doing ..

I went in Southcenter Car Toys this Sunday and had the best experience, I got a gift from Christmas and they took me in immediately and got me right out. I was dealing with a girl up front, I’m not sure her name but she was very professional and my installer Marco was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what he was doing. I was very comfortable with leaving my car here and would 100% recommend bringing your car for an install or whatever else you want to your car! They do it all!!

Horrible service the worst service I probably have ever had in my life. The new assistant manager small guy was yelling at me after I caught him lying to me twice. When I said that he told me something different than what he said he threatened to call the police on me. This man in no way no how should be in a service position. Ive been involved in service centers call centers all of my life. I had 1200 employees and every one of them trumped that assistant manager hard. 30 years Ive spent in the customer service management position. Never seen a worst-case of neglect abuse sarcasms snotty lying straight lying to me getting very escalated in his breathing in his body language it wasnt very pretty. I told him that because he lied to me and said there was somebody there to do my calibration that this was going to cost me however much to tow the car I walk with a cane I fractured a vertebrae in March. Because of the covid-19 I was unable to get medical attention and Ive had healing problems. It takes everything I have physically to get in the stores. And for him to now lie a second tme? He said the reason I couldnt bring my car in from 5 to 6 was because there was a problem with intoxalock. Theres no problem with intoxilock he was lying again trying to run business off where he was weak and had nobody staffed. One thing for sure I will never forget my experience there and every time I drive past this store it will give me a shrill icy feeling.

Caution: Sunday manager refused to wear a mask even when asked and would not let another employee help me. I needed some fat wire on a Sunday and Car Toys was the only supplier open. The price was high as expected the quality excellent. The customer service was unpleasant and potentially deadly. DONT TAKE THE RISK

GO TO FOSS!! Miserable people here! They sold me a $700 dollar alarm and it quit working after 4 years and wanted an extra $120 to fix their work! FOSS does way better work and stands behind, wont tell you they cant find your name in the system like car toys. I deeply apologize to those I referred to car toys in the past. I guess you dont really realize the strength of somebodys character until it is tested and these guys are of weak character! Their Seattle location closed and the South Center location has looked like its about to close for a couple years now! I wouldnt even trust this company to still be around let alone stand by their inferior work.

On Saturday 8/8/20 I took my 2016 Subaru Legacy in for detail a gift that was given to me by daughter. Counter experience at check in started off bad. My car was drop for detail when I picked it up my phone charger was missing ok no big deal can easily replace it, but when the scratched the vent paint down to the black under the grey act like it is ok. I am going need a manger or some in corporate get in touch with me. I will be calling.

Very disappointed, Went in with a $79 groupon for an interior detail. They refused to do it without $150 extra. When all said and done, they didnt even clean the trunk and did not do the ozone treatment to get rid of bad odor. I could have cleaned my car myself and done a more thorough job.

I stopped in to get some new speakers and a deck for my truck, 98 dakota. Alex was the one who helped me and he was very professional, not pushy on trying to upsell me on anything. Found what I wanted, installed the deck and front speakers. Vic installed the rear speakers and the alarm system that I bought, very professional, very knowledgeable, attentive to detail. Would highly recommend this location

Visited Car Toys to add Apple CarPlay receiver and back up camera to a new vehicle. They advised me on what would be the best set up and installed. First camera they installed didnt work so they ordered another one and installed it. It took a bit longer that I would have liked but in the end they came through and got it working.

Guy who helped me spent 30-40 minutes patiently answering questions and demonstrating speakers in my price range for me to compare. He taught me stuff but never made me feel pressured. I bought two pairs of infinity speakers after comparing them back and forth with a few others. Im glad i went to a store and tried them, spent a bit more than i had planned on some better stuff, but it was totally worth it to hear what a difference it makes before buying them.

It unfortunately took a terrible experience with the Portland - Halsey location to remind me to write a review about my amazing experience with the South Center Car Toys. Within 3 hours, I had Carplay and a backup camera installed. The rep showed me everything I needed to know and helped adjust my backup camera and went through every single feature. 10/10 experience. Everyone was very professional, timely and overall a pleasure. I would drive 3 hours back to this location for my future needs.

Car toys is a joke, i went because my speackers was going out in my trunk and i wanted it professionally done. I had previously got a nice pull out deck and then they had did a great Job. But this time i think they just wanted my money, Brent the store manager said he understood what i needed and he would get the sound like i want it. He said i would have a smaller speaker for more room in the trunck. He didnt say Ill put all 4 new speakers. After 10 hr it still sounded the same going in and out so i took ot back the next day, remind you my receipt was like i brought some candy, i said do i get the receipt of the things i brought the girl manager said i can get a screen shot there printers werent working, screen shot wont work for me. After that i took it back several times and still not satisfied. Go at your own risk.....

I purchased a groupon for detailing $79.99 and paid tax when I arrived. When I picked up the car (4 hours later) a woman walked me to the car and said “I want to make sure you are happy with it.” My husband vacuumed and cleaned my car 2 days prior and he does it once a week. The only reason I wanted it detailed is because the seats are white and wanted then cleaned. I told her my car looks the same exact way it did when I dropped it off and no I was not happy! She then got defensive and rude saying “the Groupon is limited and all it includes is a vacuum and wipe down.” She didn’t even offer us to upgraded or anything. I left really upset that I paid almost $100 just to have my car vacuumed. It didn’t even get wiped down. I called to speak with the manager (Chris) he was not willing to make it right and was just saying I can come pay for the seats to get cleaned. He would not listen to my and got defensive a well. This is the worst detail job I have a ever had!

Alex was really helpful when I was trying to choose a backup camera for my car, and Darren did an excellent job on the install. No regrets. I feel they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy, which Ive found can be hard from car mod stores. Will defiantly be coming back for future installs.

I am living the dream! Robert was so helpful over the phone that I came right in and Greg, the installer, made his schedule work so I was in and out of there as fast as possible. Greg also knew how to save me money on the installation so I was able to spend more money on the fantastic stereo. He was also able to reconnect my very good speakers on one side so I didnt need any new ones. That was honest and I appreciate that so much. Once it was in, Robert took all the time I needed to show me how to use it and I am just over the moon about my new system!!!! Great customer service all around and Im invited to come back with any questions about using it.

While the install was done the same day (which I was willing to wait if they where busy). The installer did not confirm the camera was working. They did not use the provided SD card with the backup cam to make sure it was recording properly. Instead they left it say check sd cardFurther more, the installer did not set the cutoff voltage to the correct number, leaving it at 23v instead of what is more appropriate for a car, not a truck, 12v or 12.5v.About the only well done part was hiding the wires.While cartoys has done well installing radios in the past. Along with speakers and dynamat. I will seek someone else in the future when installing a dashcam.
