Sour attitude and not willing to help. I had good luck with this business in the past. However today, I was reprimanded for not calling in my order in advance. Then the person at the front desk was complaining about her mask, was rude to me, and was yelling at other employees in the back about answering the phone.And as I tried to describe the pieces I needed, she handed me a note pad and told me to write it down. I was hoping for more helpful temperament and a little assistance with my order. Turns out the person at the front desk was the president (Debbie). I won’t be returning.

Up front staff this morning seem lost and could not figure out where my order was and had an attitude. I know it wasn’t just me because my finance noticed she had an attitude and another customer noticed as well. The guys in the back were awesome and that was it. Went to metal supermarket in Kent half the cost and amazing customer service.

Pretty much the best steel and aluminum supplier if you are the really, really a small business!Debbie knows her stuff! She will have an answer for you ASAP and that is not a joke. She will get you best price and best delivery terms and I am not kidding here. Have been her customer for last 4 years...Great job young lady!!!

Outstanding customer service! Debbie was great and the job was well done but I messed up the measurements. After calling back and placing a reorder with corrections, my second piece arrived in a hurry, looking better than the first! There was a minor issue with billing that Debbie corrected in one phone call. This company has my recommendation!

They charge you way too much, sometimes up to 5 times the going rate for anything. If you buy a small piece (rem) they charge you for what it would cost to buy the whole stock piece from a steel yard. If you do get great costumer service that is because they are very motivated to sell the material you want and if you tell them you are in a bind and need it right away the price goes up. I have been working in the construction field for over 20 years and welding and fabrication for over 30 years and I have never seen any business with this kind of mark up. Nice people though, but you will have to take out a small loan to get anything from them. Call a steel yard for a quote on the stock piece and see for yourself. Amazing that someone would do that but that is the way everyone is these days, make as much money as you can without regard to the community or developing business relationships.

Debbies customer service is 2nd to none! I traveled to our Tukwila store from Portland to setup some equipment in our new shop and I was missing a critical piece. I called Metal Shorts and Debbie was able to have the piece made for me within a few hours. I would recommend this company to anyone and will give them all of my future business.

The prices are only okay but what really impressed me was the speed at which they processed my order. The material that I need was ready within an hour. When I came down to pick it up I parked my truck around back and went to the front to pay. By the time I got back everything was loaded into the truck and ready to go. I will do business with them again.

I called with a desperate need for some stainless round bar and the “customer service” person said they had it, but didn’t want to go back and check. I needed a full length, no cutting, nothing. She said I’d have to wait till the next business day. Absolutely absurd. I’ll drive to Ballard or Kent for last minute metal needs now, even though they are 2 miles from my shop.
