My wife and I visited this wonderful establishment! We both enjoyed the Buffalo cauliflower wings as a starter. My wife ordered crab cakes as her entree, while I ordered the shrimp and grits with cheese. But since I have a seafood allergy, I substituted the shrimp for blackened catfish. The food was great and fresh . The crab cakes were so fresh to whereas I could not sit next to my wife while she indulged in the greatness of the seafood without my allergies acting up. We finished our entrees with a brownie and ice cream for dessert along with banana pudding -which need more cookies and less bananas- . Everything was great !! The owner is amazing !

Very Good food! Waitress was very friendly. We had 5 in our party and it was a bit crowded for us. A party of 4 would do great! Banana Pudding is a must! I also had the Gumbo and it was great!Ok so we took the family out here again and again it was great!!

Great food! We got the pimento cheese appetizer and they were absolutely delicious! Downside was I ate them so fast I wish there was more!! Had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich which we didn’t expect anything crazy since it’s a chicken sandwich but wow it was really great! The sunbeam gin drink was also great, and our server Amanda gave us great service even though we saw she was super busy.

It is a truly awesome place. The food is awesome. The pimento bacon bombs appetizer was so good. I had the creole surf and turf it was amazing. My wife had the honey garlic glazed pork chops with sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese. All was beyond great. The honey garlic glaze on the pork chop was a a perfect blend of sweet and spice. The service was awesome. Everyone was so nice. Two of the owners were very friendly and awesome about making sure it was a great night.

Refreshing. One word I choose to describe Urban bar $ kitchen. Between the hours of 11-2 the place busy; if you choose to sit inside there is room but tight knit.. doesn’t seems like anyone like to enjoy the outdoors which is where I choose to enjoy my meal. Consisting of FRIED GREEN TOMATOES (excellent), BLACKEN SHRIMP TACOS ( comes in a pair but quite good for lunch) paired with a side of MAC n CHEESE (cheesy but not the cheesy kind more of the might have added to much flour and not enough milk nor pepper I recommend asking for a side of condiments), w/ Peach Cobbler (decent but melted ice cream as if it were sitting out for to long) for dessert. The cobbler might be limited to only MONDAYS but I’m unsure. OVERALL experience is pleasant took about 3mins for a waiter to take my order. Another 12 to receive and 30 total to have the check in my hand headed out the door

Came here after a football game in search of a good dinner spot. So happy we stopped here! The service was beyond great, and for it being a game day, they handled the crowd really well. The gumbo was honestly the best I’ve had in a while! This will be our new go-to when visiting Tuscaloosa!

We were in town for a work trip. Never been to Alabama. We decided to eat at places that werent at home(SC). This place was super cute and a decent variety of food. We went at lunch hour and it was full and busy, but they were diligent in making sure customer service was good even though so busy. I had their blackened chicken tenders and sweet potato fries. My husband had fish tacos made with grouper & a side of redskin potatoes. Very good. Did not disappoint. It was the first restaraunt we have been in since covid that cared about customer service. Such a nice change.

Crab Napoleon was fabulous; staff friendly and helpful. Highly reccomend it. Friend had salmon salad, their most popular waitress stated. He loved it.

Omg, what a fantastic meal!! It was delicious, perfectly seasoned and HUGE portions.Friendly fast courteous employees!I had the cowboy burger and fries. Huge chuck burger, bacon, cheese, onion straws and a spicy sweet bat b que sauce. I could hardly touch the fries because there was so much burger. Did I mention the brioche bun, lightly toasted.My husband had the creole pasta with shrimp, sausage, and chicken all in a creamy creole sauce. Just the right amount of heat he said.I would have lived to have one of their delicious desserts but we ordered the shrimp dip to start. I had to stop myself from licking the bowl clean.A Must if you are ever in town

We were walking around downtown Tuscaloosa and are so blessed that we found Urban bar and kitchen. Would an amazingly friendly place, with wonderful food, great atmosphere and even the management took the time to come over and say hello to us as well! What my wife enjoyed was cooked perfectly with great flavor. You cant substitute the passion when it comes to cooking. We will be back!

OhmyGosh, the sweet potato fries are amazing! There is like a cinnamon sugar or brown sugar seasoning on them that give the fries extra flavor. The buffalo cauliflower wings were the first to get finished! And the shrimp tacos just balanced my meal just right!(Review also on Yelp)

This is a great new place to go eat at downtown! I loved the little pimento cheese bombs as appetizers, I wish they came as a side honestly. I had the Cuban sandwich while I was there and while I personally think it couldve looked better it was a great sandwich going off of taste alone. This place is on the more expensive side, at least for me, so keep that in mind before you go.

Absolutely amazing. I drove all the way from Demopolis to have dinner here. This is a must have dining location if you are in the area. Southern cuisine meets sophistication. The prices were very reasonable. The quality was amazing.

UBK is one of my favorite place to dine in Alabama. The food is exceptional. The hostess was friendly and Sarah our server was poised, professional and her customer services skills were remarkable. The food reminds you of a Sunday lunch at grandma house. It’s so refreshing to find great service and hearty food.

Always a great atmosphere in the Urban. The food is always fresh and you dont have to wait for a table if you hit up the bar area. So far my favorites have been the fried and grilled grouper sandwiches and the spinach dip. I would definitely recommend it!!

We went here to celebrate a friends birthday and it was AMAZING. I got the crab cake and it tasted great and I heard no complaints from my friends about their dishes. The waiter was super nice and who I assumed to be the owner came around and asked us how we enjoyed the restaurant. A great new spot for a girls night out or a date night in Tuscaloosa. I will be going back as soon as I can.

Ive eaten here ( out of towner) at least seven times. Never a bad meal... But tonight was one of the best steaks Ive ever purchased at a restaurant! The ribeye was well seasoned and a great char on the sear! Pair that with happy hour pricing on a good red wine and I couldnt have asked for more!Oh, and by the way, did I mention theres always Ive of the owners there actually working and visiting tables?!?! This is how the industry is meant to be! Kudos, UBK, you have a loyal customer for life!!!

I have been to the restaurant twice since it opened. The first time I went I ordered the Cuban sandwich, which had the best ham I have ever had on a Cuban. Real care was put into the ingredients. The second time I ate the chicken tenders, which were pretty good, but the real star was the sweet potato fries. They were the best sweet potato fries Ive ever had. I sat at the bar both times and the service and drinks were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks!

Excellent experience! We had the bacon jalapeno bombs, gumbo, grouper sandwich, cuban sandwich, and a couple of desserts. All the food was great and I can recommend each of those dishes. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu and able to make recommendations about numerous items. The food came out quickly and at the correct temperature. Service check-ins were consistent, but not too persistent - just what you want. Prices were extremely reasonable - the combination of food quality and service far, far exceed what you would expect at that price point.

Im not sure when this place snuck into town, but Im glad my wife found it for us to eat last weekend. This place is phenomenal. Ive been here twice, and so far the food and service is consistent. If youre looking for a good dish, I would highly recommend the UBK Pasta. The prices definitely match the quality/quantity of the food. My wife and I spent about $40 on both of our entrees with an appetizer as well. Im interested in their Wing Wednesday and will definitely be there for lunch this week.

Oh my goodness!! Everything... EVERYTHING was amazing! The servers were polite and knowledgeable about the menu. The space is bright and opening. The FOOD was delicious and the portion was amazing matched with a great price! We can’t wait to go back again!!

To be fair, this post is an average of the last 5 times Ive visited. At first, the food and service were spot on and was fairly consistent the first couple of times. The third time, the food was up to par, but the service was slow, and lacking. The next to the last time, my burger was not cooked to order and was actually mistakenly given another burger item. The last time, I came in for lunch, intending to dine in, but the wait staff was slow to take my order; so slow that I placed an order(sal,pm Caesar salad) to go. The salad was so drenched in dressing that the salmon ( which was well cooked) was drowning in it. I guess at this point, there are still some inconsistencies with both food and service that could be ironed out. I hope that they are soon, because Id really like to consistently like this place.

This food was extremely delicious!!! The owners did a great job decorating their space. It is light, neat and clean. I cant wait to come back when I am not on my lunch hour to try a few drinks!
