This coffee shop had an awesome atmosphere which we noticed as soon as we walked in. i immediately was able to smell the different kind of beans aromas while waiting to place our order. we did order a sandwich from their baked goods which the bread came out a bit harder than we expected which we told them about and they immediately replaced the sandwich which was great tasting. there is also plenty of parking available because of the shopping center its attached to.

This coffee shop is absolutely fantastic. They offered good coffee as well as services. The price of food and coffee is on point which I appreciated so much. All of the staff never hesitate to answer all my questions and always ready to assist me during my stay. The ambiance also is very cozy. I really loved this place. Highly recommended!

This coffee shop is my favorite place to hang and do my work. I love this place because it was so quiet, cozy, and not too crowded. The coffees and pastries that they had were so delicious. Five star coffee. Scone was only so-so. Nice flavor, but nothing special and texture wasnt the best. Chocolate almond croissant was solid - kind of messy, but nice. Overall, 4.5 stars. Rounding down to balance current score. Would certainly come again for coffee and to try other foods - lots of options that look interesting.

Love Kean Coffee and I love that they have plenty of non-coffee drinks as some of my co-workers dont like coffee. There is plenty of parking here and its clean establishment with clean restrooms and and outdoor area. NO WIFI though yes you read that right. Its either a positive or a negative depending on how you choose to look at it.

During my stay here, I was looking for a nice coffee shop that is convenient and nearby our place. I saw this online, so I came here and I was glad that the atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff members are very friendly. I liked this place for it was not noisy. It was small heaven of tastes and, a place to relax. What a nice spot! I will highly recommend this place.

I like to support local businesses, especially new coffee and tea houses, and was excited to try this place based on the 5 star reviews, but wonder if I stepped into another shop. I had high hopes and must concede I am disappointed with my first experience today.There was a lot of variety of drinks and food which was appealing and I ordered one of the signature drinks (café Napoli) and a veggie quiche to enjoy while there. My friend ordered a drink and pastry.I waited several minutes for my order and noticed customers who had placed their order AFTER me got their order first.I waited a couple of more minutes and then overheard another customer say he was upset with the wait time and even asked for his money back. The barista stated that “it’s a Sunday and busy” . No apologies, but the barista made this customer’s drink, which he took and walked out. I mentioned I had been waiting a while for my order, the same barista asked for my ticket (receipt). I handed it over and she said, “Oh it has been only 8 minutes since you placed your order”. Again no apologizes, she just proceeded to make my drink. She handed my drink and I asked her about my food order, which she promptly went to get. I did notice my food and drink was in a to-go cup and box even though I had ordered it for in dining. Not that big of a deal, but was wondering why the difference.My friend who had placed her order even BEFORE me had to wait longer and even then it was the wrong size (she ordered a medium drink and was given a small).The taste of the coffee itself was just okay, almost had an artificial taste to it and not hot, more on the warm side.I can understand it was busy and more than happy to wait, but did not feel valued as a paying customer. A simple “sorry for the wait” or even “thank you for your patience” would have made even the slightest difference. Perhaps the barista was having a bad day or just overwhelmed, but I visited Kean’s for the experience. I can go to a Starbucks if I wanted a cup of coffee. I may be willing to give this location another try but it will not be anytime soon.

The service was weird. The tone they used with us was different and we were given everything in to-go cups even though we were having it there whereas we saw folks with proper mugs and cutlery. Not that its a deal breaker to have disposable utensils. Had matcha latte and mayan mocha.. both were ok and not hot. For a place that is centered around caffeine, it didnt live up to the name.

I ordered an iced caramel latte, a bagel, and sat down to do some homework on my laptop. The coffee I ordered was not correct because it did not have any flavoring added to it (I think it was a plain iced latte), but I didnt necessarily mind and decided to continue with my homework. I tried to find the wifi and was told the cafe did not have wifi. I have never heard of a cafe that did not have wifi!! So just a forewarning to those looking to study here - there is NO Wifi! Aside from that, the people working there seemed friendly.

We had a wonderful breakfast at this coffee shop last Saturday. The cafe team was very friendly and the service had delicious breakfast crepes and the coffee and the hot chocolate were also great. The atmosphere was friendly and the decor eclectic, with wonderful artwork around. Even the toilet was funky. We will definitely be back soon!

Their pastries? Oh yeah. Their coffee? Oh yeah. And they do an amazing job with Covid regulations. They have an app you can order through. Be sure to check how much espresso goes in each drink, they dont overcaffinate their beans but they are generous with the grinds, so if youre an extra shot person, know what youre getting in to. Great staff, too. They have a guava danish that is amazing, goes great with a latte. :)

Found my hidden gem today! Great espresso drinks. Owner was so nice he took his time to explain the different espresso beans they offer and the history of the business. I will defiantly be a reoccurring customer! 10000% better then going to Starbucks where god knows what they put in your sugary drinks. Love supporting good local businesses

Their wi-fi connection was really fast and a lot of comfy couches and chairs to sit in. The staves were all accommodating and helpful. We really had a good time staying at this coffee shop. Highly recommend shop to all coffee lovers out there. Every weekend, I and my boyfriend used to go to this coffee shop to chill and relax.

Good service, delicious cappuccinos ( vegan and dairy versions), nice selection of bakery goods. Crowded inside on the cold day we visited but there were tables outside available. Parking is not adaquate for the many businesses at this location.

Great things about this coffee shop isnt just the taste. The Taste is outstanding and there are a large variety of choices for the coffee you want at home. They also have the best coffee grinders that will make your French Press at home taste smooth instead of the aftertaste of Grounded Coffee you have to swallow. Another great thing is they have The coffee Roaster right in front of you.

Cashier was friendly and wait time wasn’t too long but I purchased the 16oz iced vanilla and honey latte for the my first time and it was awful in taste, I only took 3 sips. I’ll make sure to taste my drink before leaving next time.

Coffees and foods were both tasteful and affordable. A very comfortable place, nice environment. the staff is very hospitable and helped me with my every request. The wi-fi connections are very strong as well. Highly recommended!

Amazing latte! I cant start a day without at least a shot and this place is always in my list. We enjoy the Honey Vanilla Latte as it doesnt taste bitter at all and the sweetness is perfect!

My wife favorite’s is Napoli. I love that any coffe drink really tastes like coffee and their foam in any drink is so good !!

Truly a gem. Looks like an average coffee shop, but don’t be fooled. The coffee drinks here are amazing. Service is efficient and friendly. This is truly so much better than your average hipster coffee shop in LA, so I try to stop by every time I’m in town. I will definitely be back. (FYI- No WiFi)

Best beans in the OC. Period. Martin has been doing this longer than anybody. He hires the best people. The food is rather good too, try the quiche. If you have your own espresso equipment at home, buy a bag of Golden Mean !!!

Dont drink coffee, but had a midnight bar, a chocolate brownie like square. Tasty, about a 7 on a chocolate scale. Friendly staff, comfortable seating inside and out.

One of my favorite local cafes. Favorite drink is the honey vanilla latte. Definitely check it out! Its usually pretty packed in there, but you can always manage to find a table either inside or outside. Parking is really annoying. They have a few 15 min parking spots right in front, but theyre usually taken. You may have to drive around the lot to find something if youd rather take your time and schmooze with your coffee

The wife and I needed a place to have a quick breakfast date, and this place nailed it. The simple presentation of both food and drink made ordering simple, and the entire staff were friendly and helpful! The ambience was extremely relaxed, and we felt right at home. This is definitely a place Id stop into whenever I get the chance.

Many customers don’t wear masks even inside the store. So if health and safety is important to you I’d recommend a different coffee shop during the pandemicLet me edit as a response to the owners response: My experience was with customers INSIDE the store, as I think I made clear in my original post. One putting sugar and cream or something in his coffee. He had his mask on his chin--once having been served he apparently abandoned his mask--he only cared about his own coffee apparently--not the economic health of the store or any other customers it appears. I asked the man to put on his mask and he laughed at me and refused. His back was to the barista. A woman headed towards the exit as I was coming in, well just passing over the threshold to enter the store, she took off her mask in my face--now that her back was to the barista --INSIDE the store as well (I ultimately didnt come into the store even though I had wanted to support Kean Coffee during the pandemic --I was in the area to pick up something at Susie Cakes which had a very well organized safety protocol in place I noticed). Other coffee shops Ive frequented avoid these problems by managing the route of the customers more closely --they rope off part of the store and require customers to move in certain directions. They put in the condiments for the customer so there is no touching of other peoples sugars, napkins, etc potentially by any customer. --some have moved their bars closer to the door, etc. The baristas didnt say anything to the customers but I dont blame them since sometimes anti-maskers have responded violently. I agree there are signs up upon entering saying that masks are required. People did not respect those signs, unfortunately. I can post my receipt from susie cakes so you can have evidence I was right next door to your store. My review is for the Kean in Newport beach and this is where google sends me when I try to review that location.

Recommend their Chai tea latte and coconut scone.

The white mocha shake is my favorite go to drink. Awesome looking place too.

One if the best coffee roasters in Orange County

Wonderful fresh roasted coffee. Ernie Carter and I used to go to Diedrich coffee when they were in Newport beach. Those were the good old days. Talked to Martin Diedrich, a real nice guy. The Newport Beach shop had nicer atmosphere but the coffee is still just as good.

Im in love with their assortment of freshly roasted coffee beans! I have a personal espresso machine at home and finding a place nearby that has fresh beans was becoming very difficult until I found this place. You really cant beat freshly roasted coffee and its just amazing how they do it themselves in house! Ive bought a bag every week for the past 2 months and all the different kinds Ive tried have been wonderful. Today I decided to buy a drink and it didnt disappoint. Much better quality than Starbucks! I highly recommend this place to anyone how loves coffee!

The coffee is great. The environment is very pleasant. Staff is very friendly and eager to ensure a great experience. But I want to rave about the single origin chocolate. Get a hot chocolate sourced from one of four places in the world. Its a very deep, very intense, very pleasurable chocolate experience. Add a shot of espresso for an added kick. Try them all. :)

Been here twice or thrice and it has always been nice. The lighting inside is cozy. The decorations inside remind me of the Jungle boat ride in Disneyland.

Delicious coffee and pastries, much better then Starbucks. Very cozy atmosphere, no WiFi, so people can talk to each other rather then looking into the laptops or phones. We lived close by 4 years and I miss this place! They serve Affogato - must try, so delicious! They sell coffee from different places and you can buy and grind it in there. The smell is unforgettable! Once you try it - you will love it forever!

Cafe Napoli (white chocolate hazelnut) is so good here! Matcha green tea latte (choice of sweetened or unsweetened) is also a good option. The latte or mocha is also good here. So basically I’m just saying that I go here a lot and everything I’ve tried on their coffee menu has been delicious.

KEAN coffees meteoric rise to the upper eschelons of roasters is because of their pure talent and dedication to sourcing the BEST beans roasting them themselves. Our car smells SO GOOD and this is just the drive home and we have the beans in the car with us!!!

Great Coffee!!! Before I retired, I would start my day off with a fine cup of coffee from Kean. Roasted in small batches the depth of flavor truly comes alive. Always a lineup out the door from just after opening to mid-day. One taste and youre sure to get hooked. Now I find myself looking forward to a mid-day treat at a more relaxed pace.
