Patrick was very knowledgeable when it came to what my instrument needed. He explained every repair and adjustment he made to my instrument and was very informative when it came to any questions I asked regarding proper at home maintenance in the future.He replaced my bridge and sound post when he noticed that they weren’t in good condition and also adjusted my tuning pegs for smoother tuning. He also helped me find a better shoulder rest since the one I was using before was too low for comfortable playing.I would definitely come back again maintenance and repair in the future.

I hadn’t used my violin in almost 10 years and it needed cleaning and repairs. Patrick was knowledgeable and my violin came out looking beautiful and sounding great! Since then, he has assisted me in purchasing music books, a stand, and even put stickers on my violin. I would definitely recommend Everjoy Music!

I brought in my violin for some long-overdue cleaning and maintenance. I hadnt had any work done on it for several years, and it needed a host of tweaks and replacements. Patrick was very thorough and walked me through each of the fixes and upgrades he was recommending, outlining beforehand how much each one would cost and giving me the opportunity to accept or decline. The work was complete in about three weeks, perfectly reasonable given that the instrument I collected at the end had the fingerboard reshaped, a new tailpiece, new and much smoother tuning pegs, a top-to-bottom cleaning, movement of the sound post, and much more work besides. The tip of my bow was also broken and needed a replacement piece and rehairing.The cost was fair given the extensive laundry list of fixes and replacements, and after the rehabilitation, my violin has a noticeably improved tone and no more unpleasant buzzing sounds! The Dominant strings Patrick recommend still meet my bright folky needs while being much easier to press than the steel-core Helicores I had before, giving me back the fluidity I was missing on the E string.I have no reservations about recommending Everjoy for care of your valuable string instruments, and I plan to be back in the future. Although I expect itll only be for re-stringing and re-hairing, now that my violin is back in fine shape!

My daughter and son wanted to try out the violin and the teacher were using recommended Everjoy Music to rent violins from. Patrick helped us out tremendously and educated us a lot (fantastic because I know nothing about violins). You can tell he is passionate about the instrument and is very knowledgeable. We ended up buying a full sized violin when my daughter grew into that size and Patrick has quickly helped out with repairs (user error!) when needed. I found this studio through Yelp and I am glad that I did. I brought my old violin in for repairs and Patrick did a wonderful job. My instrument was in terrible shape and now (minus the scruffs that are beyond fixing) it looks and sounds like new. Patrick was very helpful and taught me how to better maintain my instrument. I was looking for somewhere to take my cello for tuning and found Everjoy. Patrick was personable and friendly; very knowledgeable. He made recommendations for maintenance and improvements without being pushy. He explained things about my cello and bow that even my previous teacher, a cellist, didn’t tell me. Although only there for tuning, I wound up getting all new strings and quite an education! This is my new “go-to” shop for all things strings. I highly recommend you check it out!

The owner Patrick is as good a shop owner as they get. He is always courteous, respectful, and demonstrates great knowledge to those he helps. I brought in a cello I recently purchased to have worked on. Patrick and his staff worked wonders before bringing it back to me. I also began taking both cello and piano lessons from one of their instructors, Cynthia. I cannot recommend this store enough!

I brought our son in to upgrade his violin and Patrick patiently helped our son pick out a violin and bow that best complement him. Patrick was very knowledgeable in selecting a nice viola for my daughter. We started out renting a viola and 6 months later decided to move forward to purchase a viola. Patrick gave us the credit from the past rental and apply it to the new viola. We are very pleased with the selection and Patrick’s service!

Im not a serious violinist, just a guitar teacher who teaches a beginner violin on the side, so real violinists and classical music folks can be a bit intimidating for me. But these people were really chill.

We recently came in to purchase new violin strings. Patrick took the time to teach my son how to replace his own strings. He also made some adjustments to the violin to help prevent strings breaking. Patrick made us feel welcomed and valued as customers.

Our violin sounded a bit muted when we brought it in, and we did not expect a large increase in sound quality. The sound was amazing afterwards - more loud, open, and enjoyable to play and listen to. We were not expecting such a large improvement in quality, and the repair was more than worth it!

I zoned in on exactly what I wanted and am very pleased with the tone and professional quality of my beautiful new violin and bow.

Re: PatrickThis is a long review. You can see my final thoughts in the last paragraph.This was my first encounter with Patrick at Everjoy Music. Needed some long overdue repairs on my violin so that my daughter could use it for an upcoming audition. After a quick look at the violin, he asked me what I had in mind and what I wanted to achieve. After going over what I thought needed to be done, he pointed out a few other things that needed to be addressed. He is a great luthier with a quiet passion for his work. Not only did he point out some minor issues, he also took the time to educate me on why these were issues and how he would go about fixing the problems and to make the instrument more playable for my daughter. We also discussed string options to achieve the desired sound characteristics.A week later, as promised, the violin was ready for pick up. The repairs were definitely well done and made a significant improvement in the violins projection, but it was also too bright for my preference. I decided to replace the strings myself hoping that it would achieve the desired sound--but it didnt really help. Patrick followed up on the repairs with an email asking how I felt about the work and sound. I replied and told him about how great the violin looked from the repairs, but that the sound still wasnt quite what I wanted, even after replacing the strings. He emailed me back the next day and asked me to bring it back to him to perform some additional adjustments.We brought the violin back to Patrick about 3 weeks after the initial repairs. He immediately recognized us and was eager to hear the violin with the new strings. We discussed the brightness issue and he made some adjustments in the sound post. He hit the spot! The violin had a warmer projection. He made sure I was satisfied with the adjustment. He also took the time to try some very select high end strings that he took off one of the studio violins to demonstrate as well.At the end of the day, my violin is fixed and has a new wonderful tone. Patrick is a great luthier who performs professional work with a friendly quiet demeanor. He is definitely knowledgeable and loves to teach his craft if you are willing to listen. More importantly, he is listening to you as the customer so that he can address the real issue with your instrument. In the end, he wants you to be happy with his service and your instrument!! I am very happy to have met him, and I recommend him highly. We’ll be back with any future needs.
