Things do change with time... last time here was in 84. Nice clean store, organized, prices great, friendly staff. A diamond in the desert π.
Driving for my residence in Springs Valley, Desert Hot Springs, just to get my haircut in the Exchange Salons Barbers from a great haircutter Alec shes a very wonderful and great employee and beautiful lovely lady. Also do a little shopping in the Exchange but fortunately Im a retired Army Veteran with 25years of services as a 40TH INFANTRY DIVISION Combat Military Police but I still purchase other things as I walk around inside the Exchange. And I also do shopping at the Commissary for groceries.
Requested to get a patch made and paid toget it rushed. Got told itβd be about a week and half wait time to go pick it up, which is expected. When I picked up my patch it wasnβt done how I requested and they messed up the numbers on it. I asked to have it fixed or my money refunded and was told that they donβt refund and they wonβt make a new one unless I pay them again to make a patch. Very dissatisfied with the employees and the services in general. Will not go back for any uniform or gear needs.
A one stop shop for everything. Always so clean and friendly associates! I go here before ever leaving base
Very clean and well maintained. Areas of the store are clearly marked and easily findable.
Extremely large selection of various items. If you can name it they probably have it. The employees are knowledgeable about where things are if you cant find what you are looking for. CDC protocols are in effect. First place Ive been where they make you sanitize you hands upon entering. Great place.
The exchange was very clean very courteous employees
We visited our son here. They have everything a person would need to live there for a while and not have a reason to leave. I told our son, it was like a Time Share we used to own. As a civilian, I was happy to see our government is taking care of our kids and our troupes that work there.
Be better if it opened before 10 am.
Easily the global epicenter of exquisite shopping and fine dining opportunities.
Pretty good overall. The store is out of stock on some items due to out of town units buying everything.
Love to shop there but now they dont carry my daughters size 11 women shoes
Great PX! They have just about everything you need on a small base like 29 Palms.
Knew what I needed and it was in stock. Cashier was friendly and courteous.
Found clothing to be good quality, in my size and reasonably priced.
These stores on base are very well maintained. Great service most of the time. Name brands at competitive prices and you never have to pay tax. Well stocked, clean, and very open environment for a store. So much space and you never feel claustrophobic in there.
Very friendly staff. Had everything I need
It wasnt too bad they do q great job at taking temperatures for everyone and they have everything a marine needs
Excellent prices. Well provided store.
Short lines and customer service was courteous and professional.
Good sized exchange. Clean with friendly staff.
Always very helpful clerks. Good deals.
Awesome exchange, they donβt have everything we need but itβs the best one on base thatβs for sures!
Love shopping here
Bought a new TV, great selection, and even better prices. And no sales tax!
Lots to choose from and great prices. Received very good customer service when I was there
Nice Place, a lot of Variety, great Inventory!
Theres not a single article of plus size clothing in the place. Its has a nice selection of everything else.
Beautiful base ..
Love this place its actually macys so itll have everything there at great prices itβs a very nice military store an has great sales all the time . In summer you can ask when there sales are on winterβs clothes and in winter sales on summer stuff you can get the drift lol but it has all name brands no genetic stuff . ENJOY YOUR SHOPPING TRIP!
Very nice people working there and a very good selection of products.
Not bad. Much better than it was back in 2009! Could really expand their product lists in order to compensate for the fact that this base is so remote. The MCX could be a one stop shop for everything that you cannot get at the Commissary if they actually stocked it appropriately.
Selection is very poor, especially if home-related. Layout organization is poor. Theyll close early/not open without any announcement, or even any notification posted outside
It can be difficult to find someone to help you sometimes
Rating the barber shop not the store. After politely asking for a medium fade and specifying that I do not want a high fade please do not go high I get my haircut and boom a high fade and not even a good one and the clippers were dirty as hell too when it came to pay she looked at me liked she deserved a tip then crumbled the recipient up like a child when she saw I didnβt give one to her. A two year could have done a better job. I highly advise to never go here and donβt tip they get payed hourly I donβt think subpar work deserves a tip
Small compared to other MCXs throughout the Corps but has what most need dat to day. Overpriced food court. Starbucks is spot on. Engraving and stitching shops are capable of most requests. Always have hidden sales, just get the price with the wall mounted scanner.
Its alright. Small for the amount of people on the base
They got almost everything you need.
Its pretty good place to shop, they promise the best prices around but it is not true, nevertheless they have price match, if you find the same item somewhere else but cheaper -> 1) come to the counter, 2) ask for price match, 3) youll get the item for desirable price that they other place sells at. Good luck amigos.
I loved this MCX β€ Its big with lots to look at.
Its like a mall in one big building. You dont have to drive far away and you get deals too.
Nice store
Clean store stuff friendly and knowledgeable
Very nice, clean a special event on the outside for the familys, bounce house and other inflatables for the kids, info., treats and fun. Inside was well stocked and kind cashier even let my grand daughter have her own bag! Sorry didnt get any pictures, I had let my phone in the 4 runner.
It was a good trip got everything I needed plus some. And the employees are great and helped me find everything I needed and was able to get in and out super quick and checkout was super cool also and was able to get a nice discount on my purchase.
Currently they are out of xbox controllersπ but they have new VR sets if you want to try them. (I only went to the electronics section today 07/19/2020)
Its clean, nice, organized but it could use more employees asking if you need help
Nice clean:: nice cashier:: very helpful..no comment..Regards ( Jane Adarne :: Twentynine π΄ π΄ π΄ π΄ π΄ π΄ // Palms, Ca.92277
Really reliable for all of the necessities
Sister came down to visit, her husband was military, rest his soul, so we took a ride. Was so surprised on the prices in the commissary.. outrageous..these men and women serve in the military they should be able to feed their families without the hike on prices..God bless you all..
They have a surprisingly good craft beer selection.
I knew what I wanted to purchase before coming in. I found it and some accessories right where I expected. There were sufficient cashiers so I checked out with no line. The whole experience took maybe 15 minutes.
Would be nice if the cashiers counted the money back to the customer. Teach these young military wives how to count change back!
All you need and more
Got all my food needs
It might have been because of the desert, but I think this was some of the best food I had while stateside. The menu is phenomenal!
Awesome store, the selection was very good, the employees are polite and the prices are fair. Worth a look.
So much stuff for you to buy and and use. Fair prices and has just about everything you need.
I did Desert training here. I met a lot of other Marines. I had a good time. It is very hot but it is a dry heat. I got used to the weather.
This MCX has come a long way over the years. They usually have a pretty good selection. Its a lot better than it was the first time I came here 16 years ago. Food court is nice it has 4 restaurants and an area to sit and watch television, theres a GNC, barbershop, Jamba Juice and a Starbucks inside.
Its a cell phone dead Zone in there. Overall selection is pretty decent. Prices are generally good, and price matching makes it competitive.
25 years ago we were stationed twentynine palms how things have changed for better..
Computer on sale. None on hand, no raincheck, and they refused to sell the display item. Total waste of time.
The most cool items from uniforms to home appliances, clothing, perfume, jewelry etc, love it !
Always! π€ GREAT!
This px is one of the biggest and has a lot to offer from groceries to tech to clothes. It is located not too far for walking.
Took the cashier 15 minutes to bag my yogurt parfait. Why does my yogurt parfait have to be wrapped in 7 layers of bubble wrap and packing peanuts.
Great place, thΓ© people are civil you must be in the armed forces to shop there.
No tax. Good customer service. Price matching. Conveniently located. Its a solid stop for various items. Not much to complain about.
5/7 perfect score. They sell stuff that people buy
Nice and clean store. Very good prices and products.
The best exchange in the desert, better than anyone elses. Trust me. Not at all like it was in the early 2000s.
They have a Starbucks! Also now have a selection of furniture. Have been making many improvements. Thanks!
It is an extremely impressive military exchange store. It definitely makes me jealous when I think about my little local CANEX.
Excellent! Found some good buys, was given a heads-up about asking for a coupon at the check out register so I did and saved another $10!!
Some stuff I can find cheaper off base but when they offer deals they are good.Black Friday is specially amazing when it comes to good deals
For how big this store is, itβs amazing how little they actually have. Itβs all the basic selection and the deals arenβt that great, unless you are making a big purchase so you wonβt pay sales tax.
π
Had a good time finding everything I needed . would of given 5 stars but they had so many check outs available but just 2 open
The Service here is decent, although some times it terrible. The food on the other hand.... well is it even food? It rarely fills you up, and myself with several friends and peers have gotten stomach problems from it. Would I recommend it? Only if you are super gubgey and dying of hunger.
They have great clearance and sales... they price match! Always check their rules and regulations regarding the price match deals.... always clean and friendly customer service ... and there is Starbucks and jamba juice inside as well π
Went for the 4th of July it was Awesome God bless our troops.
Very nice for military shopping. Lots of items that you would find in a local mall or koals but on base so convenient prices are a little high though on some items.
Store is pretty nice lots of selection a bit expensive for clothes though. Only problem I have is the hours of operation like what store closes at 9 pm?
Very clean. Well layed out. Everything one would expect to find at an MCX. Staff was kind and willing to help. Good bath rooms. Good central location on base.
Nice staff. Low prices (price match). Clean atmosphere.
Nice, great prices and lots to look at!
One of the best place to shop with no taxes and price matching. Their clearance items are a steal. Management is on point!
Nice department store. Always clean, great prices on high end products.
A large retail facility with a reasonable selection and OK (not great) pricing. No sales tax. Friendly staff. A reasonable place to check out, but be aware better prices are often available at local competitor or online.
Great for eligible patrons
The Walmart of the Marine Corps + military clothing
One of the best Base Exchanges Ive ever been in. And been all over the world on Air Force, Army, Navy & Marine bases. Has anything you need, and the staff is ready and eager to help. Especially the folks in the computer & electronics area.
I am rating the barber shop not the whole mcx. I go in there and i ask the lady βhey um let me get a medium fade and let me get a bit off the topβ and the lady agrees and begins cutting. Through the hair cut she tries to comb the top and just makes a humb, turns me around and says youβre done and i told her βher i wanted some off the topβ and she says βi spent 200 dollars on clippers and you got a bit of sand in your hair so im not about to ruin them on your hairβ which I understood said okay well thatβs not a problem, so i ask βokay well howbout if i go wash my hair real quick and come backβ and she says βyea but im going to charge you againβ and im puzzled. I really wanted to get some off the top that day before my hair was out of regs so i said βwhat ever ill be right backβ and again i turn around and i ask βwill i have to wait in line all over again?β And she said β well i have lots of customers to attendβ (keep in mind its a sunday when all marines are trying to get haircuts) i just walk away. She does not care how your hair looks or the satisfaction of the customer, jus making money. She was the african american one with thin dreads. She didnβt even have any kind of certificate on her mirror about her going to barber school.
Great PX.Unfortunately I havent been able to get back since 1977.
Top brands great prices
