I shop here almost everyday. I get a lot of great deals. The employees are amazing on most days. Today was a little different. I found a item that was more than double of what they are selling for. I was willing to spend $3 more then what they normally sell for. And the manager said no that the price for the item was not negotiable. When the items are donated you should never be selling for double the original price. I believe the pricing persons need a little help in that department!!!

Used to volunteer here a lot, but they do have a nice thrift section. Really glad they put in a grocery portion too. Very convenient.

I love this store! BUT….today I was overcharged doubled for a lot of jewelry I bought, saw it happened, told the cashier, she said she had two papers with purchases…one was for the store and one for the customer!!! Are they not trained. Then I got home and I was still charged $14.99 twice instead of once and twice $4.99 for one pair of shoes!I have no idea how this could happen. I purchased a lot or I would have noticed the additional mistakesPlease fix cashier errors on basics. I won’t go to the store and complain, but I will avoid that cashier as all costs in the future…no pun intended!

I went specifically to buy Almond Milk, and hoping to find bean sprouts - which I did find! And while I was there, made the circuit and found potting containers. Sweet.

I truly love this store they have everything from clothing for all ages and sizes to household and grocery items. Its a blessing to have Salt-n-Light in our community to help with things needed at a cheaper price and good quality. The staff are super too. Thank you SNL for blessing us during this time in the pandemic.

Wonderful, large thrift store that also offers fresh local produce. Gives back to the community in a variety of ways. Computer training offered on site. I got my Covid vaccine shot inside, a walk in event facilitated by Carle. I love this place & the people there. Must check out this community asset.

My favorite thrift store. Most of the employees are super nice. There’s one employee that very obviously treats some people like they did something to her personally because of how they look, but I just ignore her and go about my hunting. I’ve found lots of treasures here.

Its a mix.The staff / volunteers, can be exceptionally helpful, or nowhere to be found. Food prices are high in comparison to grocery stores, but can find some unique items not found elsewhere but limited in supply The food quality is also a mix.The re-store part is very clean and mostly priced well.There is strict mask wearing and carts are cleaned. Sanitizer available.Cashiers are pleasant and are always available. There is no self checkout. Forms of payment has been credit /debit unsure about cash or checks.They do monitor the store by video.Other options, such as child care, and other community services have been restricted either due to Covid, the few times of being in the store, the hours I have shopped, and have no knowledge of how they work or their quality.Before returning to Phase 3, people would have their children with them, and were well behaved. Multiple languages can be heard being spoken among shoppers. Sales, like any other store vary,There is a rewards program, that you have to ask to join, it requires either a cell phone or email to join. Nowhere is this made obvious, despite asking about it the first visit, and told it was not working.No politics or religion have been pushed or required for the shopping portion. Parking is free, with handicap marked spots, but have seen no provisions for shoppers who may need assistance, other than what you bring in yourselfWill go back, when in the area, for the unique find, and possible odd meal item.

Very well run thrift & grocery. Amazingly modest prices for clothing and some grocery items for good prices. Buying here is helping their mission to help others. Cashiers are friendly and fast. I have found great things here. Thank you Salt & Light!

Im so sad to move away. I loved this place as a neighborhood grocery store. Once got a desk for super cheap and they lent us a handcart to wheel it to our apartment. The staff are wonderful and talkative. Really going to miss having this place right down the street. Surprisingly good selection of food. Ive found the Champaign Meijer has more questionable best before dates on food (including expired product on sale) than Salt & Light. You can trust the food you buy here.If youre moving please consider donating to them! Theyre better than goodwill. They dont jack up the price compared to goodwill. Youll be helping people by donating to Salt & Light.

Always great customer service! The store is clean, organize, and easy accessible. The employees are always willing to answer any questions I may have. The aisle are label correctly and spacious enough to shop. Did I mention this is a NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION that gives back to the community? I love shopping here. This store does excellent work in the community. It is very easy to donate clothing and household items and get a receipt for taxes. The store is fantastic and it feels great to know that the money you are spending is going to people in need.

Amazing selection today! I dont get to go here often but when I do I find tons of treasures and my cart is overflowing! I usually go to the champaign location on Anthony Dr. And I love that one.

The store is kept up nicely, an I know they need the money but some prices are too high for me. I can get some things cheaper at the dollar store so I have to go there for somethings. Im a Low Income Senior. I have to budge my money closely.

Today was my first day ever going into the store with my daughter mind you we arent the type of people who have ever been followed in a store we dont carry purses nor had anything on our hands and an employee was following us so close that I could probably hear her breath. I finally had enough and asked her why she was following us. Which she denied of course needless to say. I was clearly racially profiled as I saw no other people being followed in the store. Im disgusted that this happened to me and my daughter she did learn a lesson on how the color of your skin affects how you are treated so thank you. I will never go in there again nor will I donate to them. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Most item prices are very competitive or unbeatable. But be aware, some items are marked up higher then the local supermarket

Wonderful organization that we give ALL our barely used and heavily used clothing, bedspreads, costume jewelry, books, small furniture, lamps,!! You name it they will find a way to make use of the last scrap!!!!!

A lot of the food was overly priced. A box of cheezet crackers was marked at 6.89. then things was marked for one price and when u got to check out you ended up paying a different price. Very dissatisfied with the experience. Especially since I am a single mother. I wont be returning there again.

Went in looking for a specific book and they were having a book sale $1 for a bag of books! SCORE!! I am definitely going back!

Was not very pleased with our visit today. The worker at the jewelry area ignored us while talking about getting a new job elsewhere with another customer. My friend wanted to buy a bracelet but since we had to wait for a piece of paper to be written up, he got annoyed and put it back. We left empty handed
