This store has been around awhile. Ive given them alot of business. My last visit was a bad. Dude behind the counter DOES NOT want to help. Made me feel really uncomfortable. I hate asking for help. The owners are spot on. Great service and the knowledge they have is amazing. White dude behind the counter ruined that place for me. Mr know it all expert grower.

They told me that the tent and flood trays would fit each other. They dont fit. Went to exchange for smaller flood trays they wanted to charge 25% restock fee which would have cost me more for smaller trays. This was their employees mistake not mine. The only thing I did wrong was believe they were smart enough to help me out.

Well this was one of my favorite spots its conveniently located since I live here in Vancouver. The problem is Chris has passed away and whoevers running it just cant fill his shoes, I miss Chris!

I have shopped at VM Garden Supply for some time now and I have to give this place five stars! The guys working there know so much about their products and how to use them and have answered numerous questions for me. They carry an amazing assortment of products and their prices seem very fair and reasonable. So for great customer service, selection and price, VM Garden Supply is definitely the best place to shop.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! way overpriced and they sell inferior products that dont work out of the box or soon fail and good luck trying to return it... you are 100x better off going to any other store or driving into Portland...

VM Garden supply is the go to spot for all things gardening related. Chris and all of the employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. Customer service is top notch and their prices cant be beat. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

In the past few months their prices have increased almost %50 over most Portland shops. Manager says otherwise. I was paying a little over $3 for T5 bulbs. Last time I bought a bunch they were almost $11 ea. Went to Grow World and T5 bulbs are $5ea. New staff are shady. Check your receipts. Most recently was charged large container price for a small container nutes.

VM Garden Supply is friendly, informative, and has a large variety of products to choose from... And they are open more often than not! YAY, I love these guys! And, did I mention, their prices are the best!

Ive been coming here for years and recommending customers to this store for their gardening needs, but I feel a change coming after today. I came in to purchase some stakes and after looking around I didnt really need or want any thing else, but was told they wouldnt take my debit or credit purchase without spending more money (minimum $20?) I have never been told this before, or had the owners do this to me, no signs posted... And you lost a customer.. All my future needs will be met through other stores and online purchases.Employee told me the female boss would yell at him if he made the charge for such little, and that they give away products for free to prevent doing so... Well I had to drive all the way across town to get what I need after being turned down over 4 bucks. Really stupid.Ive seen better service at a gas station.

Super helpful staff. I have houseplants Im converting to semi hydro with leca/hydroton. The nutrients and ph kit were cheaper than Amazon. Definitely recommend a visit if you are converting to semi hydro set ups (they didnt know it was a thing but know a lot about the products)

Prices are lower than everyone and people really know there stuff. Chris is awesome. They even load up the soil for you. No need to try to price match others...they beat everyone else with their everyday pricing

Nothing in the store is priced, Condescending and rude staff, Ive been mocked for asking simple questions.... poor customer service. GROW ORGANIC, dont waste your money on CHEMICALS. GROW WORLD is MUCH cheaper, and they actually display prices.

Used to like shopping here but their customer service has gone to hell and they keep raising their prices....if you want great customer service and want to save money go to GROW WORLD! Trust me I shopped at VM for years and wont spend another cent in this store!

The staff has always been very friendly and I remember them having a wonderful selection of all sorts of things for Christmas (including Christmas trees) and Halloween last year.

Great selection, all you need for your garden but the help seems a little Clueless these days, went in looking for some micronutrients the guy looked at me like I was crazy, then another worker came in helped the customers that came in after me and then got on the phone and totally ignored me so I left wont be going backThere again even though Ive been going there for years.

I was sold faulty equipment twice in a year. IM not growing fields or anything but Ive spent over 2000 dollars this year with them and had it not been for the two kids he hired, I would have delt with the owner or his wife. The first problem Chris was there, was super friendly and helped me resolve the issue completely with a brand new light. no big deal. 6 months later, I bought a bulb, bulb was old, two boyfriends working the front together said I needed my receipt and if it didnt match then I stole it. I didnt realize minimum wage pays for detective work. wait, ones a manager, he may make 12 an hour lol. The point is, These kids called me a theft, wouldnt exchange the item, asked me to leave and called police. Now Im taking this to court. I had the item in my possession for 15 minutes(lights are 7am-7pm. My other bulb couldnt have cooled down fast enough to return it that quickly. Second time in, i forgot my recipt. They needed it in order to Return it. Third time, Im back in less than 30 minutes Total (buld would still be hot). they tell me they called Chris and they wont exchange it. LOL you lied to him. They ripped me off and gave me an old build. I hope I can talk to Chris before this gets worse. Better business and small claims on Monday if not. I live for karma!!! Oh and check your nutrients to be sure they are sealed before you buy them. Too often, only from this location, my nutrients are not sealed completley. Minus the kids working there, I have had a great experience. Ill be on here and anywhere else I can pass this in hopes that they take notice and dont treat customers like criminals. For now, for a while, till this is resolved by them or by a judge.

Just went back to this place for the 2nd time because I thought it was open at 10 a.m. Open sign is on but all the doors are locked?!? We have been coming here for over a year. After the last situation we had with them we are done using them for our garden needs, They just lost 2 customers. 😢
