I had my first experience with South Venice Auto yesterday. They took me right on my appointed time. They diagnosed the problem and corrected it in a very timely fashion. They did not over charge, they were more than fair with both service and pricing. I would recommend this auto service to anyone looking for reasonable service at fair prices.George Z

Brought in my truck after I started hearing a humming noise at around 50mph. I told them it sounded like a bearing problem. I let them know I recently replaced passenger front a year ago. They replaced driver front bearing without calling me. I go pick it up and asked if the noise was no longer there... the tech said I dont know. $490 out the door got in truck and noise was still there. I wasnt offered a partial refund for a misdiagnoses. Went back immediately and asked tech to ride with me so I could show him the sound. Said bring it back in and we will get it solved. Next day I bring it in and get a call from front desk saying the tech is very sure he found the solution.They say it was the passenger front bearing so I gave them the nod to fix. I go to pick it up and sure enough the sound still lingers. They only offer me a reduced labor rate ($270 after discount) the second time they misdiagnosed. I had enough by this point and drove to dealership with a churning sick feeling in my stomach. Sure enough, I have it diagnosed by them and Im told the tires have a small cupping pattern in them from not being rotated sooner... A small problem that can be avoided by not letting them wear unevenly for the remainder of their tread life. Long story short, be very careful around these guys. They have a bad track record of misdiagnoses with me and they attempted to have me come in a THIRD time... stating we put the stethoscope on it and pin pointed the humming to the rear driver side of the vehicle. (I now realize this is impossible because the sound couldnt have been heard while on a lift). Now Im out $760 for an issue that didnt need repair. PLEASE BE ADVISED these guys can screw up and did so with me. I wasnt offered a fair enough refund and it made me feel ill. Do your best to prevent being cheated out of your hard earned money!

Fast, honest and faithful service at an excellent price. Im a customer for life! Went in with a car that barely made it to the shop and was diagnosed with a vacuum leak within 30 minutes and was out the door, This is the best my car has run since buying it used. GREAT WORK GUYS AND THANK YOU!

Great guys just drove over with my car they took a glance for free said i didnt need a wire harness. Went out of his way and used a multi meter to check the wiring on top of it to make sure working right. Great experince will bring future work to them.

Other auto shops have told me they cant diagnose or fix a problem, but with South Venice Auto Repair Ive never had something they couldnt fix. This is a repair shop I trust, would highly recommend but be sure to call ahead for an appointment.

This is a special Automotive experience like no other in my experience and I am 74 year old and have owned 24 cars, trucks and RVs: On August 2nd I was pulling my 2017 Coleman trailer north on Hyw 75 with my Ford Expedition in a thunderstorm. Smoke poured out of the engine so I pulled over and called the Road Ranger that filled the radiator with water and I drove to the next offramp to a Shell station, called AAA and waited for two tow trucks to arrive. One took the trailer, the other took the Ford. Two years ago I was vacationing in Venice Florida AND KEPT South Venice Auto Repair in my cell phone because I had excellent service repairing my Toyota Sienna Van, needing a frount end brake job. So keeping the shops number was critical as I soon found out. Chad the owner answered the phone and told me he would fix the Ford, park the trailer on the side of his building, plug it in so I could stay the night and be ready to go the next day. He had John, the Tech replace the radiator overflow plastic bottle, cap and hose clamps, flush the sysytem, test the therostat and fill up with new radiator fluid. John was done before closing and I dorve down the road for dinner. In towing the trailer the tow truck dropped the trailer while trying to go over a bump in the road so the frount crank jack bent and a bolt on the hitch broke off. John fixed the tongue jack the next morning by 11 am and I was off to the RV Park on River Rd. So Chad not only fixed both units but provided a plug in so my food in the fridge was saved and I sleped in my AIR CONDITIONED TRAILER OVERNIGHT. Now I ask you folfs out there near and far, How many shops do you know would have provided that kind of service and courtesy? It almost makes me want to move to Venice, Florida so I can have Chad and John for my friends. I hope this chronicle of my breakdown and recovery gets into the local paper for all to read.
