Went to FBD and picked out a quartz slab for my island and breakfast nook. Turnaround time was 5 days and price better than other places I went to. The new secretary had just started working there and communication was an issue. This is where they lost one star in the rating. His office person had gotten COVID and has not yet returned due to the generous government assistance, hence the problem for businesses to get and keep their employees. The new hire didn’t workout.There was a flaw in the slab but Charles took the chance and cut it anyway, which was 1.5 inches less in the width. It did make a difference. He was upfront and said if I didn’t love it to come pick out another stone and he would recut at no cost to me. He did a great job and I was able to choose any slab he had on the lot. They also let me use the quartz so I could have a full working kitchen until the new counters were cut.They delivered the day it was promised, at 7 PM! Long hours. He even took the time to seal the granite. Plus they let me keep the quartz. Charles was a man of his word. He even made the countertop wider so we could use stools!

We ended up getting a beautiful piece of quartz at a reasonable price and the work was done very quickly. Installers were courteous and professional. This company was the 3rd company we came to for Kitchen Counters and my husbands first comment was “ finally we are talking to a human Being”!! Crystal in the office took total care of us and knew exactly what she was doing, figuring square feet and torso price! We met the owner, who also came out to the house for the beginning of installation. Everyone from the owner to Crystal to the installers were professional and knew exactly what they doing!! They also recommended an awesome plumber!!Do not go anywhere else for your counters! Their price was extremely fair and the products they install are top grade!! Great granite business!! Ours was a small order, we just used remnants but the selection was beautiful! Christa is an outstanding employee! She was so very helpful even though we were a small $$ sale. She had lots of suggestions and gave us good advice. We dropped off our cooker and sink for the outdoor lanai and they expertly cut the granite exactly to our request. The installation was just as professional! The crew of two were careful and pointed out a few issues that never happened but they at least gave us a warning just in case...better than what some installers do! They cleaned up everything, hauled away the trash and then proceeded to give us follow-up instructions! How pleasant! Ryan was one of the installers, both were so helpful. We love our two remnants, one on the lanai for our cooking station and the other was inside, a new top for a pony wall by the house entrance. We love it!! From start to end our order took less than a month, perfect!! We will definitely go back and refer our family and friends to this business.

I had a great experience with this company. They found what I wanted & installed within a week after.Response to your response. The workmanship was excellent. The staff who came in to measure & install was excellent. The time frame was incredible. Finding what I wanted & time frame was beyond excellent. However, I wasnt pleased with the salesman and the manner he spoke to me. Maybe because I was a female? He was rude & spoke to me like I didnt know what I was doing. Maybe he was having a bad day? The two women in the office jumped in to help me & get me what I wanted because I was ready to walk out. I have however recommended your company to my friends. I am also planning to do my 2 bathrooms & outdoor kitchen when I return to the states. I will change to a 5 because the company itself shouldnt suffer because of 1 individual.

These folks are great. They spent time with us and were very patient. The granite chosen, a day later measurements and 5 days after the counter was installed. It was a very professional job done by well qualified workmen. The master bath is next.

My husband and I have never been happier! After going to almost every granite yard in Sarasota we found exactly what we were looking for right in Venice. The turn-around time from templates to installation was 7 days! The professionalism was astounding. The workers did a fantastic job in all aspects of their work. They also kept our kitchen as clean and dust free as possible. We recommend Fabricating BY Design in Venice.

We had granite counters installed in our kitchen about a year ago by Fabricating By Design and at that time we were advised to have them sealed by Andrew at HydroShield of Sarasota, which we did at an additional cost. Within a short period of time the color of the granite darkened drastically. We contacted Fabricating By Design and they suggested we contact Andrew because they said it was a HydroShield problem. Andrew came back to look at the granite and said he couldnt believe the difference in color but also told us not to worry because he could remove the sealant and that would restore the original color. After trying for a couple of times with no success he finally told us that after speaking with his office ( who happens to be his wife, we found out) and Chuck, the owner at FBD, that they both agreed that the right thing to do would be to replace the granite. We went to see Chuck at FBD who then acknowledged to us that he should have told us when we purchased it that the granite was very porous and also since his company recommended Andrew at HydroShield, then giving us his promise, he would do the right thing and replace the counters sharing the cost with Andrew and his wife of HydroShield. At this time we stated we had to leave town for a couple of days and when we returned we would come in so we could get the process moving. When we went back, everything changed, we waited in the office for Chuck better than 45 minutes, Chuck avoided us, Krista, the office manager said she would have him call us (hey Chuck, still waiting on that call approx. 3 weeks later) and a then we made a call to Andrew and his wife to see what was going on and she told us that now they werent going to do anything except return the cost of the sealant. The customer service from both of these companies is disgraceful. Both of them promised us that the issue would be taken care of but apparently neither of one of them keeps their word. We are now having to pay twice for our counter tops but at least we have found a reputable company to work with. Had to give one star because we couldnt give zero stars. Stay far away from Fabricating By Design and HydroShield! BUYER BEWARE!!

Our piece of granite came with a lots of rust marks. On reflection the company came back with offers to fix all problems and they also offered to cover any costs involved. Excellent after sales service.

Cant say enough about this buisness. Crista knows her stuff and is so easy to work with. My previous granite had two seams that were unsightly and when they came to measure they said they could replace it with no seams and they did. The new granite looks awesome and perfect. Chuck the owner has made sure that his prices are very competitive and it is a pleasure to support a local family owned buisness. I will highly reccomend them and plan on using them for my bathrooms. !!

My wife and I had been talking about redoing our bathroom countertops for about a year. During that time, we visited Fabricating By Design at least three times, looked at a lot of remnants and samples, but just were not finding the right look for us.Although FBD is a small company, they have a lot of variety, so we kept going back. We were impressed from the beginning with Krystas knowledge of materials, and her patience as we figured out what our look was. Whenever we showed up, she was always friendly, and took the time to walk their yard with us, so we could see what was in stock.About a month ago, we stopped in, and spoke with Krysta yet again. She asked about our progress, we exchanged thoughts, she smiled and said she had exactly what we were looking for - and she was right!We arranged a time for her crew to take measurements and, within days, two of their guys were at our door to install the new countertops and undermount sinks.Their crew arrived on-time, verified the work order information, and showed us the new countertops to ensure we were getting the right ones. They remeasured the existing layout, determined which bathroom to start on first, and got to work.The tearout of the old countertop and sinks was fast, and the installation of the new ones went smoothly. Before we knew it their crew of two had cleaned up, and were on their way.My wife is thrilled with the look of her new bathrooms, and extremely happy with our choice of provider. As a Custom Home Builder for 42 years I have worked with all types of vendors over the years, and the owners,office staff, and installation workers were very professional and did an outstanding job on our new homes countertops in the kitchen and laundry room . We are planning an outdoor kitchen for them to do next.

My wife and I selected a piece of granite for a countertop on a knee wall. We paid the deposit of 50% and scheduled an appointment for measurements and a template. In our home the two workers reviewed the job and took the measurements. Five days later the installers came with the countertop. However, they could not seem to decide how to place the braces on top of the wall. I was concerned about the support of the weight of the granite because of their hesitation. They changed their minds several times and finally decided they could not finish the install and abruptly left. When I called the office I was told it didnt matter that they had sent men to our home to see the project in advance. The owner was rude and indifferent that the job had been botched. I was told I would have to wait to see what needed to be done to complete the job. No accommodation was made to make up for their mistakes. I ended up going to the office and cancelling the job. A complete loss of time all the way around. Very unprofessional business practices.

Given a price of $2000 on Saturday and then Tuesday when I went to give a deposit and order he raised price to $2700 and lied about ever giving the price of $2000. As far as I am concerned these people are dishonest.
