Pound for pound best wine shop in the Madison area. I recently went in to get some wines for a tasting and worked with Rick on crafting a list. He came in at just over half the budget I gave him and recommended some really unique and interesting wines. He truly cares more about getting you exactly what you want/need, even if it means foregoing some extra revenue. Every time I stop by I somehow walk out spending less than I expected to, but never at the expense of quality.Although the selection may seem smaller at first (especially if youre used to Woodmans or Total Wine), youll quickly realize he carries a highly curated selection of affordable, quality bottles with all of the classics, as well as some more niche regional wines. There is no BS filler on the shelves and $15-$20 will go further here than any other shop in the Madison area.

A great liquor store. Well actually a great wine store in a town full liquor stores. Great selection of wine, cider, and beer to choose from. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Same goes for the rest of the staff. There are free tastings as well from time to time. Definitely a great place to fine that perfect bottle of wine you are looking for.

Great place to pick up some wine. They even offer pandemic case prices on 3 or more bottles. I got 6 bottles of wine for $75.00, tax included.

This store has a great selection of craft beer, wines, and liquor. You will see some unique brands in here that are not at most stores. Plus the owner is usually on site and happy to answer any questions. The man knows his beer!

Great local shop! I love going to the Friday evening tastings. I can call up the owner, tell him roughly what I want, and I can trust him to pick me out some amazing bottles. They also have a robust beer selection, and sell my favorite cider we well.

The owner was extremely nice and helpful! We were visiting from out of town and looking for some great Wisconsin beer and he was beyond helpful in offering and creating some great solutions for us. Plus they were open til 7 on a Sunday, unlike other places that had closed earlier. If I lived close, this would definitely be my go-to store.

Passing through Verona for the second time and went out of my way to stop here again. The owner is amazing and has a story behind every beer he sells!

Been a frequenter of Verona Wine Cellar for a few years now. They have a great selection of wines from around the world and local beers! The staff is also very knowledgeable and friendly.

Great selection and very helpful staff. I was staying in a near by hotel and asked if they sold bottle openers. The guy working couldnt find on in the store so he gave me a personal bottle opener!

Always helpful and friendly, and full of information. Although its the wine cellar, they still have a good selection of craft beer. Well-behaved children also get candy, so thats a plus.

Verona Wine Cellar is the best place to pick up a bottle or two in the Madison area. Rick is charming and understands your taste profile, offering suggestions that will increase your appreciation of wine. To top it off, the wine cellar also has an excellent selection of beers. Stop by on your way home from work or on the way to a party with friends. You will not be disappointed!

This is my favorite place to get wine, beer, and cider. Theres always something different and new. A section of their inventory is static but a lot of it changes seasonally. Get on the mailing list to get info for their free tastings! Bulk deals on 3 bottles on Tuesday. Ask for a recommendation! I have gotten great suggestions at very reasonable prices.

Good selection of beer, we have had strange interactions with one of the clerks: while getting help making a selection he went out of his way to bash one of the local Verona breweries... whose beer they are making money off of.
