The owner is a great guy, he took his time to explain a lot of things to me who am new at the the growing game :)

Phil is the man. His employees can be trusted in regards to their Horticultural knowledge. I strongly advise you to go there and talk to Phil if you have any plans on growing any type of plant whether indoor or outdoor.

Words can’t explain the great customer service at simple soil Villa Park. Phil and his daughters are very knowledgeable about every product in their store. They will definitely steer you in the right direction. Also they don’t Try to sell you something you don’t need. If you need anything for your hydroponic needs this is definitely the place to go to

Phil kills it over at Simple Soil. He has helped me with so many questions and recommendations over the years. He can order anything for you if you need it as well, just ask!! Fabrics pots, soil and nutrients are just a few things I go here for. They have everything from clone gel and clone trays to pellets and coco to lights and tents! THANK YOU SIMPLE SOIL!!!

So happy a co-worker told me about simple soil! Phil and his team are wonderful and most importantly HONEST!!! He won’t ever sell you anything you don’t need and has always entertained all of my rookie grow questions(trust me I have a lot). Phil is awesome to work with as he has patience and knowledge about the products that he is selling. All you need to tell him what is your goal and price limit. He will set you up with setup that accommodates your needs. He presents something that I thought it was long lost in small business: honesty. He more cares to accommodate you, than the profit. I went over-there yesterday and told him my price limit. Then he threw some additional stuff for me for free. Not many folks do that. Phil is one of the rare businessman that actually cares about his customers and their needs. I will definitely keep coming here and I suggest you do the same :)

I’m a science teacher and went in looking for help setting up a hydroponic plant experiment for my photosynthesis unit. The owner was super helpful, gave me tons of tips and was able to help me buy the right materials. In just 10 days, our bean plant grew so much!

Very helpful staff to get things back in motion

The two women that work here couldn’t have been more helpful with my needs for growing “vegetables.” It’s a family owned joint that carries supplies most shops in the area are out of. The old guy is a little odd, but very friendly.

We visited the store for the first time in December. I had never met Phil before... but he treated us as friends. He didn’t make us feel stupid for not knowing certain things as most Of theses types of store owners do..... The store is packed with everything you could ever need and Phil is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to growing. He is the only one I’d call “progressive“ in the local shops and Not just treating you as “the next customer”. I would highly recommended them to anyone and won’t be spending my money anywhere else on home gardening. Thank you Simple Soil Hydroponics!

This is such a great store. Its a family owned business that just recently moved to bigger spaces. Phil, the owner works there with his daughter who are both super super helpful with finding things. They also have NO PROBLEM answering any questions u may have to help u with any questions u have along ur growing process. Phil can also order something for u if u need it and its not there....Hes like no problem well get that in for you by Friday and just pay me when it gets here. There both just really nice genuine people. Love being able to support their local business any way I can. Theyve helped me and taught me some things that have helped my set up go a lot better... So thank you to them....

Love this spot in the suburbs. Family and locally Elmhurst owned ... I’ve been coming to Phil for a few years now. He’s got everything one needs to grow all their maters and peppers. Dry amendments, organic inputs, and several options for mineral based fertilizers as well as hydro. Their new shop location and layout is improved, parking is easy peasy. Sure hope to see his store and customer service continue their success.

Knowledgeable staff and a good selection

Good friend of mine came here for his first setup and i came in to finally get mine and met phil, even tho he was super busy he still came back every 5 mins to reassure me he hadnt forgotten, came in with a budget and he was more than reasonable with prices and helped me pick out my first grow setupand guid me towards the right stuff. Truly helpful and very patient. Would reccamend this store to everyone! AND i appreciate the little things even got stickers and a gree gift of fish sh!t
