These guys are major price gaugers. They are the rep for sig sauer in Hawaii. Sig has a reputation that proceeds themselves so when I shopped here I was expecting to be treated fairly. Come to find out they doubled the price of the firearm I purchased. A FFL transfer costs 25 - 50 dollars so these guys are trying to retire off your hard earned money. Of course in the fine print it says “All sales are final”.

They just posted Lancer 5.56 and 300blk magazines on their Instagram story for $29.99. The same mags which can be bought on Primary Arms and Gun Mag Warehouse for $15.99-18.99 (color dependent) with $5-7 shipping. For the past three years I’ve been here they’ve always had their firearms and accessories marked at or above MSRP. There is no reason, other than greed, to mark up your prices 30-50% higher than other retailers. Even HGS sells the same mags at a more comparable price to some of the leading online retailers. I am not opposed to paying more to have an item in my hands today, rather than wait for shipping, but they’ve become more bold and offensive with their pricing.Ultimately they blocked me on their Instagram in an effort to censor anyone with enough common sense to shop elsewhere. It’s not even like I posted a public comment, it was a DM to them. Now they’ll have a public review and a scar of poor public relations. They clearly don’t want to listen to customers.I’m sure plenty will continue to shop and be taken advantage of there. This is a poor business model and customer relations strategy to operate on.

Most staff was great, but the prices are horrible for weapons... not just bc of the surge of weapons, but the price for some in general is horrible. Be careful. The range is nice tho

I went in for advice on cleaning my revolver and shotgun. It was super busy but Matthew was attentive and helped me out while juggling other customers. I didnt know they have an indoor range and am excited to know I can go here for practice. All of the staff were pleasant and obviously enjoy what they do. Creating a friendly atmosphere goes a long way. I highly recommend X-Ring Security and Firearms for any of your needs.

WORTH THE DRIVE! Took my 17 y.o son here for his first shoot. Staff were helpful and very accommodating, and the RSO was professional and safe without being the Fun Sheriff. Being ex LE, I know range officers can be a pain sometimes but this guy was a good balance of professional and accommodating. The range is pretty new with a good range of rental firearms, long and short. We hired an AR-15 and a Colt M1911 which were both fun. All the staff working yesterday (April 14) were really cool. Id done my research and pricing is waaay better than in town or anywhere in L.A for that matter. Cant recommended this place highly enough. Great range, great guys.

Guns are insanely overpriced. I understand the price mark up because of the shortage of supply but marking up for over 500 dollars is unacceptable.

X-Ring was amazing, we were tourists from Australia and were recommended to come down to X-Ring. We had little to none gun knowledge and Matt took us through the basics of shooting and helped us through our whole shooting experience! The level of care, safety and attention provided is amazing.The facility is clean and all the staff were super friendly and helpful.We ended up coming back a second time before we went home! I would have given them 5 stars but one thing I believe held them back. They got great inventory, smart, friendly and staff, and an awesome indoor shooting range. The downside... their location. They’re located in the heart of a pretty rough neighborhood. Which brings up safety when going there and leaving. Other then that it’s an awesome place!

Over priced and bad service....dont even waste time reading this or going there....just dont.....been going to all the shops on the island and this was one of the worst, definitely top 3 of the worst....just dont ...you can get better price and service at just about any other gun store on the island.

I personally like this place. I think the staff is great, the range is nice, and their selection of firearms are good. There is a problem though. I refer my friends to this place but they all dislike the membership fee. The needing to buy ammo, targets, and such there is also a deterrent. Even if you buy the ammo there and leave with it you will not be able to use it and have to buy more ammo to use their range. This really makes no sense to me.

We recently moved to Hawaii and we stopped in to see what is required to bring our firearms in from out-of-state. They explained the entire process and costs, what a pain the state of HI is!! Anyway, they were very helpful in explaining everything and showing us firearms.

Wonderful experience! This was my first time shooting in Hawaii and I was a little nervous. Incredibly friendly staff! RSOs arent over bearing and will gladly help if asked. If you are looking for a safe, clean, and friendly environment look no further.

I got a new rifle and did what anyone would do, take it to the shooting range. I called ahead of time and said Hi, Id like to check out the new shooting range and just wanted to make sure that you are open and see if you carry 30.06 ammo. The reply was yes we are open and yes we have 30.06 AmmoI showed up 30 minutes later to find out the range is closed and that I would have to return the following day for the grand opening. Not only that, but I cant buy ammo because if I buy it I cant return with the same ammo the next day to shoot it. Up until this point everything is fine and Im willing to dismiss it as miscommunication.This is where I get mad. Fast forward to the next day, I return with my new rifle, fill out the forms, (and find out the the $20 fee is per person, not per lane like most shooting ranges) and Im told that a 30.06 is not allowed on the range because .308 is the largest caliber allowed. They had a box of 30.06 ammo on the shelf in the shooting range. So I asked, if 30.06 isnt allowed, why do you sell it in the range store? I got no reply other than .308 is the largest round allowed.I called and explained my intentions, showed up and explained my intentions, then tired again the next day. I drove to the range twice and was rejected twice. I was very disappointed, its almost as though they dont want you to shoot there.

Nice range, but I dont get why targets need to be bought from them. Is already expensive enough paying for the membership, range and ammo. Still cant understand why you cant bring your own targets.

Challenging customer service. You must pay their membership fee in order to even buy anything from the gun shop. I completely understand this for access to their shooting range (for which you would still have to pay the hourly fee, a gun rental fee, and you must buy their ammo), but if I am dropping 1200 bucks on a rifle, I would want that waived. No real military discount, except for their specials on Thursday for range time. Not a fan of attitude from the shop girls.Would rate 1.5 stars if I could, except that this type of service seems to be on par with most of the indoor shooting ranges on-island, since it is such a limited market here. Up a star for plentiful parking, although in a sketchy area, and 9 shooting lanes.

Worst range I have ever visited. “Instructor” gave a terrible, incomplete safety brief and kept taking my firearms without permission despite my repeated requests that he not do so. He didn’t know how to use either my rifle or pistol. I had to show him how to clear them but he wasn’t willing to listen. He accidentally dropped my magazines to the floor twice. Salesman told me they raise the prices of their ammunition because customers must shoot the store ammo.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great location, air conditioning always definitely a plus. Highly recommended to new and seasoned shooters.

Amazing range. Great service from May and the instructor (forgot his name sorry).Definitely worth the 30+ minute drive from Waikiki. I am from AUS and have been shooting twice in USA before. This range focuses more on locals and millitary, so there’s no packages, you rent the gun of your choice, buy the ammo and targets, and you need to load up the gun and operate the lane yourself. This is very good unless you are a first timer since it’s educational and you get to be more hands-on and therefore learn more than the cash grab tourist ranges will ever teach you.Much cheaper overall and the guns are not tied up. This range has an impeccable focus on safety also that is not too over the top.Mahalo!

Living in central oahu I wanted to find an alternative to kokohead and the lousy range ryles out there. Read up on XRings website about Friday night date night 2 for 1 deal and figured it would be a nice way to spend friday night with my wife. Website said public and tourist were welcome. When we arrived some ghetto fabulous lady welcomes us by taking my weapon out of the case, cocks and dry fires it to ensure it is cleared, safety first I get it but a dry fire? We explained its our first time there and she starts with the sales pitch and how we HAVE TO become members in order to shoot there which is $30 per person. We just want to come in every now and again and throw lead down the range were not looking to mecome members for benifits we will never use and who knows if this place will be around in 2 years anyways. Plus the $20 per hour range fee, plus we have to buy their ammo, plus we have to buy their targets. After its all totaled up we would have to spend well over $200.00 just for one night of shooting. Every indoor range Ive been to you sign in with a waiver, rent a lane by hour or day, you can bring your own targets and ammo have a good time for about $50,$100 if you want to try another brand of ammo. Based on the pricing on their website they want you to pay premium for just the basics and call it a service.

Really nice modern indoor range with multiple lanes. The staff is friendly, and lots of parking. With the happy hour morning prices 10 bucks and hour for a lane, its worth my long drive from Kaimuki. When I cant make it to Koko head, Ill be there.

Helpful staff, nice clean facility, great place to shoot. I decided to shoot here after a little bit of research, and am very glad that I did. I am an experienced shooter, but was in Hawaii as a tourist, but one look at the tourist gun ranges in Waikiki, and I was happy to make the effort to get out to X-Ring. Even with the membership fees etc it was still much cheaper than the tourist ranges. Only negative : not really accessible via public transport (maybe with a taxi/Uber). I look forward to my next trip to Hawaii so I can go back to X-Ring!

They’re horrible at picking up the phone. After going to voicemail a few times I was put on hold. When I finally talked to the woman at the desk she was very rude and unwelcoming. That’s not how I want my first experience with a shooting range to be. I’m definitely going to a different place where they treat customers with respect.

I went into X-Ring today after calling to see how much it would be to put a floating rail system that I had already purchased on my AR-15. When I called they told me it would be $75 but I could come in and talk with the armorer since the only thing that I couldnt do myself was punch out the pins in the front sight post to take it and the gas tube off.When I got there the armorer, Brian, told me the same thing, $75. I thought that was pretty steep considering that my actual rail system only cost about $70. I then told him that I really only needed those pins popped out, which he said he would do. I grabbed the gun from my car, went back in and he told me it would be $25 to take the pins out. Lets say that it took him 5 minutes (although my guess is more like 1-2 minutes) to take the pins out, $25 x 20 = $500 an hour! Not only that, but I was going to purchase magazines and other parts while I was there.The point is, they overcharge for simple gunsmith tasks and this time, cost them my business now, and in the future; this veteran wont be going back to X-Ring anytime soon.

2nd biggest gun showroom to ogc for starters but their range is too awesome. I love the fact that you can do rapid fire unlike the liberal hippie kokohead range 5rds at a time. I dont have time for that nonsense! If you want to practice your draw time rapid fire look no further. Plus unko Brian knows his stuff guarantee warranty if you want a dream gun he can make that dream reality. Best indoor range on the island period! Plus if you dont wanna drive to kokohead and u live on the west side.... its a no brainer.

I cant speak to their firearm prices or anything but I used them for a FFL transfer. They were prompt, polite, and reasonably priced. When I had trouble with the receiving FFL, I called X-Ring and they were very quick to provide delivery receipts, etc. so I could get the situation straightened out. Id highly recommend them for FFL transfers.

I have purchased quite a bit of at-15 parts & accessories @ a good price for several ar builds, very knowledge staff & eager to answer questions you may have.

The guys here are very helpful and friendly, even to newbies to the hobby. I went there to look at a scope I saw in their booth at the Gun Show, my friend ended up ordering a bolt action from Brian just because of how friendly and helpful they were. Im so use to the prejudices and opinionated personalities of gun shop staff that this experience threw me off my guard, they were respectful with their opinions without intruding on our viewpoints; even when they didnt agree with them.The location is a bit out of the way, but Im sure that is how they keep their cost low; lowering the bottom line. There are a few back roads you need to drive through to get to them, but they keep their property line clean and bright.Product pricing is competitive with online and other shops, key note is the person (his name escapes me, so sorry!!!) assembled, mounted, and bore sighted my scope for me right there in store. With that they gave me a crash course on how to use, adjust, dismount/remount and answered my questions about the optics; something you cant get online.These guys really strive to push the customer service element which is valuable enough to drive from Ala Moana area to Waipahu.

Good but not Great.As other reviews mention their prices on gear is not competitive at all, youll pay a good markup on everything.However, they are the best range indoors on Oahu. The range is clean, they offer a good selection of targets and you can holster draw and rapid fire if you complete their qualification for ~$20 each. Range rules to seem to differ depending on who is working that day. Some days you can get all the ammo youll shoot that day when you check in but other times you can only get 1 box at a time. If you drop a mag on the ground sometimes you can bend down a pick it up, other times the rso makes you use a grabber to pick it up, even if the mag is at your feet. Again its more just strange and annoying than anything.Additionally, if you call and ask for the market price of ammo they will tell you and will tell you if its in stock before you drive to them.
