I bought a pair of high-quality lenses from the Optical House. After wearing them for several days, I continued to get eye strain every time I put them on. I also bought two pairs of glasses from another provider, and both of those pairs were completely comfortable to my eyes. I told the Optical House about the eye strain problem with their lenses. He checked the glasses a few times, tried to adjust them, but the problem was still there. Then HE TOLD ME THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE OTHER PROVIDERS GLASSES WHICH I FELT PERFECTLY FINE TO MY EYES. HE TOLD ME i SHOULD ONLY WEAR THE GLASSES FROM OPTICAL HOUSE!!! I said to him; your glasses were the ones I had eye strain from. Then he said, well, these glasses are perfectly fine; you should wear them and stop wearing the other ones (the one I’m fine with and bought from another provider). I was speechless that he could give me such a ridiculous answer. I see; he is being shamed on top of the world. There is no way I can talk to him anymore because I can see he wont do anything to fix the problem. Thoroughly Shameless!!!

Dr. Violette has the most up to date equipment for eye exams.He gives the most through exam you will get anywhere.I have been going foot my eye exam with Dr.Violette for 30 years.

Dr. Violette was highly recommended to me by my daughter who is a patient of his. At my first examination I was tested on some pretty impressive machinery. I don’t believe that I have ever been tested on equipment like this before. After that Dr. Violette did a thorough eye exam being very efficient all while explaining the process and putting me at ease. I was very concerned about a problem I was having and he assured me that he would be able to fix the problem. I was very impressed by the good doctor’s calming and soft spoken manner and enjoyed my visit. I would highly recommend The Optical House to everyone I meet.

Kate went beyond the call of duty to repair my old broken sunglasses frame so that they were usable while I waited to get back the new ones, and then spent a great deal of time getting the level of shading on the new ones just right.
Dr. Violette does a superior job for my total vision care. He and his entire team do it all from scheduling to billing insurance to updated frames selection.I’ve gone to them for 20 years. They have a great business, and best thing is the feel of a family business as they want you to get their best on every appointment or pair of glasses you need to get.

Ive been coming to Dr. Violette for many years now and would never switch. My husband is not a doctor-friendly person, but Ive managed to get him there twice and he even he couldnt find anything to grumble about! Although sadly denuded of personnel these days, it means you get the doctor doing the whole exam and that is a plus. I particularly love the new tech that takes the place of tedious, old fashioned practices from a hundred years ago. Dr. V always has the latest tech and has more data to work with as a result. Highly recommend this practice and everyone in it.

Recommended to me by one of my colleagues - the wait for an appointment was significant (Thank you covid) but that said: everything that this office does is completed safely (we all know what that means these days). Pleasant experience all around; Greeted by a pleasant and helpful receptionist (sorry I do not recall her name currently), Dr Violette is pleasant and keeps you informed about what he finds, and will also explain to you anything that you ask him about. And a very specific shout out regarding the frame shop connected to his office : Kate in the optical shop spent a fair amount of time with me, advising me, informing me, again spending the time to answer any questions that I had. Been going to Dr. Violette for many many yearsWouldnt trust anyone else with my eye care!! If you have an immediate need he will def tend to you ASAP! Now my mom is seeing him on a regular. She needed help outside his office and sent her to another great doctor. We are grateful for his referral and as long as he is in practice there is no other place we will go. Also my husband and two daughters see him as well. Couldnt let anyone else take care of my family.
Optical House is great! Small practice and everyone is very personable. Dr. Violette is an excellent optometrist and never makes you feel rushed. I feel fortunate to have found them.

My daughter had an eye infection, we were not regular patients, they had a cancellation and we took it. Staff was so nice and the Dr. showed us pictures of her eye so we could really understand what was going on. Even made a follow up appointment to recheck. I dont have insurance at the moment but the costs did not break the bank💓

The office was so clean, they unlocked the door when you came in, you also called ahead When you do come in everyone at the front office is just great also to let them know you were in the parking lot for your appointment used hand sanitizer when you came in, the assistant took your temperature, and Dr. Violette was just GREAT as usual, always have been coming here to The Optical House. I called on Tuesday march 2 in the morning to have appointment, the woman on the phone was very rude and unprofessional, she told me that it will be in May, she spoke fast so I said : can you repeat it ? She yelled at me that it will be in May, I said to her that you dont need to yell at me like that, she excused that its because of her mask . Shes liar . I wore mask 12 hours at work I know the difference when people need to talk louder or when they have an bad attitude and express by their voice . You will lose customer when you have a receptionist like her that act like she doesnt need customers and she just want to be there for time pass, get paid and go home

Dr. Violette is excellent as is his staff, and they have a beautiful selection of frames but they never make you feel pressured to buy as my previous eye doctor, who made me feel very uncomfortable. They are also using careful precautions, checking temperatures and asking everyone to sanitize. I felt very safe.

I started going to the Optical House when I was looking around for new eyeglasses back in 2010. Being local to Wakefield, it was nice to have a small business right in town! I was a patient for many years and Dr. Violette was always made me feel comfortable and explained everything so I could understand it. I recently got LASIK surgery and the staff at Optical House was very accommodating for all the appointments necessary with eye surgery. Cant say enough good things about them!

Made my appointment 3 weeks ago, was called last week and received a text to reconfirm. Which I did. Went to the appointment this morning to be told I have no insurance? As with most companies this is the month for benefit renewals which I just received my companies email yesterday that I had two weeks to complete. My grievances here is during the month of November this must happen on a regular basics with others and with appointment reminders one would think the front desk would remind people to update their enrollment before coming to the office. I have been with my company for over three years so all that information never changed.I have been a customer here for over six years, I was offered no customer service other than “do you want to try another insurance you may have” which would be in the same limbo or “do you want to reschedule”. I came home and did my renewals in five minutes, which I would have done yesterday if I had known in advance. I always try to go local with business but you have lost a customer here that’s for sure ☹
I went to the Optical House after my glasses (also purchased at the Optical House) were damaged in a fall. Just as before, the doctors and staff were very helpful and I have complete faith in their skills. I had my old glasses 5 years and they were the first pair of progressive lenses that I enjoyed wearing. My whole family goes here and I will never go elsewhere. I highly recommend them for the best quality and friendly, helpful service.
I went to the Optical House for my routine eye exam. Driving an hour away for my appointment everyone in the office was very nice. When arriving at my appointment I provided my health insurance card for them to bill. After my exam as I was getting ready to leave, the secretary advise me that a routine exam is fully covered because after further research she advise I had a vision plan under my insurance. I couldn’t’ have asked for better customer service and I will definitely drive the hour again for my eye exam.

I went to The Optical House for an updated contact lens and glasses prescription. I will say, the visit itself went well. Everyone in the office was very nice. I ended up buying both my lenses and contacts that day.That being said, billing is/was a complete nightmare. First off they billed my insurance with the wrong code; whatever, everyone makes mistakes. A couple of calls and everything is sorted out, right? Wrong. The person I need to talk to isnt there so I have to keep calling back over and over again. Finally I get her and my insurance on the same page. Everything is all set they say... Flash forward 4 months and out of the blue I get a 90 days past due bill. I havent heard from them at all prior. I called my insurance and they resubmitted the same code with a different cost and surprise surprise it didnt work? I try to call the office to sort things out, and yet again the only person who handles this is out until six days from now. Im sure this will all get sorted out eventually, but either way I wont be going back.
