Very simple process. I entered the information on my car in the online form and got a very quick response with a great price (above Kelly Blue Book). I brought the car in and the staff confirmed the online offer. I had a check within an hour. Very courteous and efficient staff. A great experience.

I brought my car in to appraised. It was smooth and painless process. Within hours I received my offer from Carmax. I accepted the offer. When I brought the car in for the sale. That took less than an hour and we were done. I would recommend Carmax to anyone who asked me.

Low balled on my trade by about $1,000 - $1,200 under what Kelley blue book had. Only reason I did accept the trade in was the car I wanted was difficult to find at local dealers. Only good things I can say is sales people were great and I love my new car. Will not buy another car at CarMax

Hands down the way buying a car should be. 99% of what needed to be done was done before I ever even stepped foot inside the dealership. I got a fair price for my trade, I had three different car models lined up for the test drive on the same day, turned out that I didnt love my original selection, returned it in 2 weeks and that process was as smooth and effortless as advertised. I located and had all the arrangements made for me to be in my second selection the very next day. I probably spent a total of two hours in the dealership throughout the entire process AND I left happy. My only regret is my first pick and even that turned out for the best. I dont usually care about being loyal to a car dealer, but they will definitely be my first stop for my next car.

Went in to sell our car after doing the online and in person appraisal. We had called prior and stated we did not need the registration as long as the sticker was up to date. Showed up, waited and was informed we did need the registration. We were also told we would have to go to the dmv or have it mailed to us. Went home and was able to get the registration online in 5 minutes. Returned the following day and had a different person help, he was very nice and helpful and wished he would have helped from the start as he knew we could get it online in very short amount of time.

Bought a car recently, 8/30/21, and have been pleased with the vehicle. The only issue, the vehicle is pulling to the left. You can even note the steering wheel is a bit off center. So I thought Id take advantage of the 90 day satisfaction guarantee model CarMax offers. Dropped my car off and within 30 minutes, received a call back saying there is nothing wrong with the alignment. Ok. On the way home went on a flat road, center lane, let go of the wheel, the car clearly pulls to the left.The CarMax 90 day guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. I am rating them a three because the sales process was fantastic but contrary to all the marketing material, they do not stand by their cars for 90 days.

Easy to make an appointment; was promptly greeted and time was managed efficiently. Our sales rep, Ambur, was excellent and provided us with clear information each step of the process.

Pretty much the worst customer service my wife and I have ever experienced. We’ve been trying to pay off a car loan for the last couple months, but keep getting redirected to different departments. Also, their online system was down for over two weeks. We’ve called, emailed, and have physically gone to the dealership. Still, no one can help us. Meanwhile, the interest on our loan keeps going up. We will never shop there again.

About a year ago today I remember purchasing my BMW from this location. Terrible experience, but I did a lot of research on this car and it was exactly what I wanted at a great price so I bought it anyway.They made me purchase car insurance for the car BEFORE I even bought it. It was the only way I could take it for a test drive. The manager was very rude, almost as if she didnt expect me to actually buy the car. Bought the car with cash and she was apologizing when I walked out of the door.Bad experience, good car selection.

Whole experience was really good. Dropped the car off and was told if it took longer than a day they would give me a loaner car. The repairs couldnt be done in house, so they sent my car to the dealership for repairs, and have me a loaner car. My car was fixed and returned back pretty fast. A good experience.

The individuals who worked with us were personal, professional and prompt. The communication was amiss. Time schedules were not as we were told and there were things required of us that we were not aware of, or advised of, before the actually sale appointment. Fortunately, it all worked out. Also, we had to wait and extended period beyond our scheduled sale appointment - and it was freezing in the Waukesha facility. Now, these are not deal breakers for my wife and I, but may warrant some attention. We would shop CarMax again.

This place way over books their appointments. Plan to spend a lot of time sitting around. Even if you book first thing in the am, they line up out the door. When ask how I can get an appointment that they actually keep, I was told “I can’t predicted the future “. Waisted an hour and still never got helped. .

I went in with the intentions of selling my car. I walked in with no appointment. They set an appointment within 5 minutes I was talking to someone. The whole process lasted hour, hour 15, which included getting an offer within 20 minutes and transferring everything over. I loved how easy it was and the offer was great! Would highly recommend. Very impressed... 2 days ago I asked that a car from Illinois be brought up to my local store. This was done easily and quickly. I set up a test drive for today and went in for it a bit early. The car was clean and ready. The salesperson (NOT on commission so really laid back) was nice, helpful, thorough (Jacob specifically). Nice quality of vehicle (I find they are selective in a good way with what they take in to sell). I may go back to purchase it. If not, Id still recommend this dealership and will shop there again.

We received a more than fair price for our trade-in. We have purchased at least 5 cars from CarMax and have always been satisfied. We like to no-pressure approach of the sales associates.

I bought my car and 3 days later my transmission went out on it. Yes they fixed it under their 30 day warranty, but when I got my car back there was a chip in my windshield and a stain in the interior of my car. I had to make a full months payment on a car that I have had for only 2 weeks, for something that should have been looked at before I bought it. The gentleman that took care of the situation was really nice, and that is why they got 3 stars.

Purchased a car for my daughter, three months later we were told it needed a new engine at the cost of 8000.00. After more research we found out there was a recall on that cars engine, however carmax did not let us know. We have been without the car now for two months. I think it is awful that they did not share this with us. I also am questioning who checked the vehicle over before we purchased it and didn’t notice a problem with the engine. We did not even put a 1000 miles on it before the engine failed.

I had to sell my late brothers truck. Everyone that I dealt with was very understanding of my situation and so helpful and kind. Would recommend highly!

Retired from the Navy. Moved back home and needed a vehicle. Carmax finance was unable to verify my identity. I had a Wisconsin DL with my current address, letters from the United States Department of Veterans Affair to my address, USPS, you name it! And they still couldnt help a veteran returning home. Hopefully this review will encourage them to update their policy so no other service members deal with any added stress in the future. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

General experience was okay. Price was good, service/people were helpful and the car was clean. However, timing was slow despite having an appointment and the quality/inspection of the car did not meet expectations. Tires are badly/unevenly worn due to poor alignment, one tire has a nail in the tire and needs to be replaced, windshield wipers were peeling and needed to be replaced also.

Great price given while selling my car to them. Unfortunately their check bounced. They claim it was due to a computer crash. Drove out to get a new check. They covered all my bank fees. Had to drive back because the new check was not signed....fml. They did make good on that screw up too. I will still be selling my other car to them in the near future. My sales guy was excellent and friendly. I think his name was Les?

My son received an offer on his car and told carmax he wanted to purchase a truck from the kenosha carmax. BROOKFIELD told him on the day he was selling his car and was ready to purchase the truck that he had to call kenosha to set up the purchase...Brookfield went through buying his car from him.. knowing that if he used his car as a trade and not just selling it he would have had a better deal on his new truck. Not sure if the representative at Brookfield was uneducated untrained etc... no recourse management offered no solution.. poor customer service.

The entire experience from appraisal to the sale of our vehicle to CARMAX was great. Professional, knowledgable employees, and an efficient process with great financial results for us. Kendall handled the front end to determine our vehicles purchase price and Stevon handled all the necessary paperwork to close with all the stakeholders (registration, title, finance company, etc) and provide us our payout. Both were outstanding to work with.Would recommend CARMAX to anyone wanting to sell their used vehicle or to purchase a used vehicle. Years ago my daughter also sold her used car and in that same transaction bought a used vehicle from CARMAX which she still drives today.

Bought a 2 year old Escalade with 14k miles and sold a Yukon Denali. Everything was good except for a few small issues which speak very poorly of the dealership. When I went to pick up vehicle, it had road rash on one rim (which was not present in the photos online) and a large gouge In sidewall of one tire. I should have required dealer to replace tire. I also shouldn’t have had to as the tire didn’t meet Carnax safety standards for selling a vehicle. The dealer agreed to have DentDr repair the road rash on wheel. They wrote up a repair slip and said someone would call me in a few days to schedule. Several weeks later and no call. I called Carmax to ask about this. Got a completely rude phone operator who agreed to have Waukesha store manager call me. No call. Lastly, and this is super annoying, the oil change came on the day after I purchased the vehicle. This means to me that ZERO inspection or service was done on this vehicle. If it had been, the tire damage would have been identified and resolved and certainly the oil change would have been done. What should have been an excellent experience is now a garbage experience.I would love for carmax to cover the oil change, replace the dangerous tire and actually set up the appointment for wheel repair as contracted. I’d also love for them to care enough to call back a customer when they mess up. The folks at the Waukesha store were totally delightful in person. This dumb stuff has very much spoiled that. Just sloppy

I love the car but the experience was painful. It took way too long to take and download the pictures needed for my 14 year old trade in. Not proficient in the software used to purchase. This was my third car purchased from CarMax and this was the most frustrating experience I’ve had.

I found a car in Illinois and they brought it to me in Waukesha Wisconsin where I test drove it and ultimately Purchased it. A couple of days later I found crack in the rear bumper. I emailed a photo of it and got a call from their service dept. within hours. They apologized, ordered a part and repaired it within a couple of days at NO CHARGE. Excellent service.

I had a 7pm appt to get an appraisal on my car. At 7:45pm with no help in sight I left after waiting an hour with my 12yr old daughter. The front desk was very polite and apologetic, but if you value your time I would not trust carmax. I will never go back to carmax ever again for any reason.

Only place to buy a car where the dealers don’t harass you, don’t pressure you, don’t charge you hidden fees, and don’t constantly email you after you’ve purchased a vehicle. It’s a no haggle dealership but they price their inventory well and you’ll find it hard to beat it anywhere else. The staff at the Waukesha CarMax were really patient and worked with us all day to get us the best option. Love the new car and couldn’t ask for a more professional group of employees.

Not what I was expecting. Simple, easy, not exactly fast but they honored the offer they gave me online.

This company should be sued for discrimination and committing several crimes. Its manger should be personally charged with false arrest, and practicing medicine without a license. It is a place of public accommodation that is open for business to all but does not provide fair and equitable accommodation for those that may be unable to wear a suffocation device due to medical reasons or religious beliefs. They have an illegal policy that violates the 14th amendment and the right to life. Oxygen is required for human life. Forcing someone to risk their health in order to use their facility for commerce is a felony, especially when done while concealing their identity. The mandates signed by Governor Evers are illegal and unenforceable. Making a company policy based on illegal edicts is, by definition, illegal. This company must review national and state constitutions and state penal codes. No sale!

I went to this Carmax to buy my first car and my experience was absolutely amazing! Everyone in the place had a very wonderful attitude. The sales person that helped me was Cameron and he was very helpful, informative and patient with the car buying process. I would highly recommend not only Cameron, but also Carmax in general.

Business model is sound and the staff are helpful, but my purchasing process was fraught with errors:1. Paid to have a vehicle transfered to waukesha for purchase. The vehicle was listed on the Carmax website (open market) in Waukesha BEFORE I was notified the vehicle was availible.2. The vehicle was advertised as 4wd, was in the Carmax system as 4wd, but was in reality 2wd. This was a deal breaker for me.3. Carmax agreed to refund the transfer fee, because the vehicle was not as advertised. Carmax accidentally charged my card, instead of refunded. Carmax made it right within the hour.I ordered a similar vehicle, for transfer to Waukesha, perhaps against better judgement. Will see how this goes...

The verdict is still out on this place. Im waiting for a car to show up that Im possibly interested in buying. The pictures of the vehicle looked awesome but then I worry they could be stock pictures and not the actual vehicle. I did take a vehicle to CarMax to trade in but the cash offer I received seem pretty low. Lets hope for the best.

This is the second vehicle I have sold to CarMax. I was very please with the smoothness of the transaction. The Waukesha store went above and beyond in practicing social distancing and disinfecting. Jesus was great at explaining the procedure for selling the vehicle and was very polite and professional. It helps to know the approximate value of your vehicle before going and know you are not going to get a full retail price offer but rather something closer to and above wholesale pricing. I think the deals are more than fair. I would use them again.
