Stopped at this store while visiting town. Was looking for some meat at the meat counter. Was turned away very quickly, most of the beef in the meat counter is dark brown. Very gross. Please have someone check your meat!!!

A clean store, competitive prices.

I love Fareway in Waverly. It has the friendliest staff and they even load your groceries into your car. Quaint, generally well stocked, and prices reasonable compared to other grocery stores.

A much better shopping experience than the Hy-Vee in Waverly. A bit less selection, but I cant say they disappointed me.

I dislike the self checkouts, but I decided to go that route because the other lines were quite long. I was about three-fourths of the way done, when the scanner locked up. One of the young girls unloaded all of bags and re-scanned my groceries. Then, of course, had to re-bag them. So much for the professed fast checkouts!

Always clean, friendly, and great selection except all stores have very limited qty and selection in Smirnoff wine coolers. Almost no one has the dark cherry flavor ugh..lol

Coronavirus/Covid 19 Warning!!!!!Ive been coming here for years. On average I spend anywhere from $250 to $350 on meat a month here just for my family and even more because I purchase for multiple families. Some families spend almost $1,000 in groceries a month. Since the pandemic every time I come in here half of the employees behind the meat counter are not wearing a mask. Ive spoke to the meat manager three times. Ive even spoken with the store manager. Last time I was in the assistant meat manager behind the meat counter had no mask on and was coughing while he grabbed somebodys meat out of the counter with no gloves. He even put his hand up and coughed on his hand and then continued doing the packaging and getting meat. Told the store manager what I had saw once again and he didnt care. This is very frustrating because two months ago it was state-mandated that all meat counter people are required to have a mask NO MATTER WHAT. So I have completely given up on purchasing my groceries from here. Instead Ive been going to the Hy-Vee in Waverly where every single person has a mask on even the ones in the back prepping the meat. Every single time I go to the Hy-Vee they have a mask on... EVERY TIME. I also purchase groceries for the elderly and multiple families who are at high risk. I recommend to everyone I see not to send me to fareway anymore to purchase their groceries. I have converted over 40 households to switch to Hy-Vee all because they refuse to wear a mask at Fareway. I hope that once the owners see this review they will realize that they are losing thousands of dollars all because of a mask. Thats pretty sad because I used to recommend the fareway to everyone. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!! Hy-Vee all the way.

They have a broad selection, including some specialty items, organic produce, and gluten free selection. Their meats are freshly cut on site and there is a bakery on site. The prices are competitive, as is the quality. Fantastic for a small-town grocer!

Waverly Fareway is always an awesome experience. More than helpful staff, very clean and well organized. Never have to ask for help, they beat me to it.. They are aware of the confused shopper look. Very attuned to their job duties, yet manage to keep their customers pleased. Special Thank you to Ethan in produce. Very courteous and friendly.

People should know enough to ALl wear masks

Worst Fareway meat department in Iowa. The staff do not pay attention to who has been waiting longest. They also sell old meat. My husband just brought home some Top of Iowa Sirloin steaks and they have a brown stripe through them when you cut them up into smaller steaks. Theyre been sitting so long the blood has completely drained out of them and they smell. I guess thats why they were on sale. Not coming back.
