Shottenkirk Toyota responded to my review along with a phone number to call at my earliest convenience. Of course, its a non working number, so they look like they made an attempt to remedy my complaints but I couldnt respond.This is my original review:I was pressured in to purchasing a 2021 Highlander. I had to purchase that day to get the end of the month special deal. I should have known better. Once I drove it home, that was on a Friday, I realized it didnt have the drivers side seat memory. So I took it back 2 days later, on a Monday, and was told it was already titled to me and now it was a used vehicle. To get the Limited model, I would lose about $10,000. That was a very expensive lessen I could not afford but since my husband is 64 and Im 52, my drivers seat would always be messed up when he drove. If Id have known how it would be a used vehicle now with less than 100 miles, I would have taken it home and sold it myself. Especially since there is a new car shortage, I could have sold it in one day.

Catrina (sales) was great! She answered all my questions and made sure I got great customer service. She let me test drive as long as I needed to get the feel of the car, let me take my time to choose which car I wanted, and was just great overall.However….I was pretty disappointed that the car I drove an hour to see wasn’t available for me to see and drive when I got there (it was out as a loaner to another customer), especially when I checked 3 different times before heading to the dealership that it was still available and was told all 3 times that it was (not by Catrina, but by a manager). Also, once in the finance office, I was rushed through signing paperwork and didn’t feel like I could ask any questions without frustrating the guy. I wasn’t happy with a few things regarding the financing either, especially since I came with my own financing deal and they talked me into using one of theirs so they could get their money faster since it was the end of the month (according to the finance guy). So Catrina gets 5 stars, but everything else gets a 3 or below from me.Love my new Camry Hybrid though!!!

Purchased used vehicle. Drove away and heard rattling. This was not the case when I test drove the car. Photo shows how they strung up the exhaust with wire. They agreed to fix it however I also had to replace all brakes and rotors at my own expense. Mechanic showed me the condition and said they were not safe and wouldn’t pass inspection. I could clearly see how worn the brakes and rotors were.Spoke with manager about their 120 point safety inspection and asked how did it pass. He said their mechanics are ASE certified and the vehicle was fine. Bottom line is they have no honesty or integrity and don’t care about you once they have made the sale Will be filing reports with BBB and FTC.Edited to respond to owner: I spoke with managers several times about the car. So you responding with some generic response “on behalf of our dealership” is a joke. If you really cared, you would call the customer yourself. Thank you for proving my point in showing that you couldn’t care less about the customer once you have made the sale.

My salesman Justin Kerr was wonderful. I couldn’t decide on what to get for about a week and thought maybe it just wasn’t time yet. Justin Kerr invested a lot of his time for the next 3-4 days locating the vehicle that was perfect for me. I went up there and checked it out and sure enough he found the vehicle that fulfilled every preference I had communicated to him. I’m very grateful and 100% satisfied with Justin and Shottenkirk Toyota and when I need to do business again, that is where I’ll be going. They were totally honest and transparent with me and it was a blessing all the way around.

I give the salesman Blake Garrett 5 stars because he was a great person. He took the brunt of our (my) anger over the hidden costs (almost $5000 in “dealer extras”) that might amount to $300 in actual cost. Blake was professional, apologetic and calm. The classic bait and switch. The listed price of the truck I bought was a great price, until the extras. It was still a good price. The sales manager made the purchase a little more palatable but in the end we came away with what we were willing to spend. There’s a better way of doing business. It’s called upfront honesty. Just because most others do it a certain way doesn’t mean they should do it that way. Be a leader not a follower.

The salesman was great so he was not the problem. But then sales wanted to give us 6k for our trade in even though it valued at approximately 14k lol. Dont take trade ins here. We left & went to another place in Garland. Bought a 2021 Tahoe & got 13k for our vehicle on trade in. The salesman though was very friendly and not at all at fault for my low rating.

BUYER BEWARE!! WALK AWAY from dealers that charge a reconditioning fee. In my opinion, this is a very shady business practice and far from transparent. They acquire vehicles and then price them without knowing how money it will cost to make any repairs on the vehicle. I was told the recondition fee could be close to $2,000!! How can I possibly work a deal on a vehicle if I dont know how much I am going to pay for it. If you are looking for a good deal on a vehicle, this is not the place for you. Money is more important than good business practices. Bait and switch on the price. We found a used 2 year old Forerunner on their website advertised for $41,672 (the brand new one on the lot had a sticker price of $46,600). We looked at and test drove the car and liked it. Once the salesman worked up a final price it included another $5,503.65 in charges for a total price of $47,175.65. They tried to explain that it was their cost to recondition the vehicle. To me this is deceptive business practices. The advertised price should be the price you purchase the vehicle for. I very recently purchased a used car from Sewell BMW and paid exactly what they advertised the car for. Not a penny more.My advice would be to stay away from dealers like this that dont reveal $5,500 in charges until the deal is being finalized. Stick with a dealer that is more upfront with their business practices.Look at their Yelp reviews as well. This is business as usual for them

Rep promised to give us a deal and a lower price than was listed if we came in at that exact moment because it was end of month. The sales manager refused to lower it even one cent, in fact they ADDED $4,000 in non negotiable reconditioning and a 6 month warranty. He said he would not budge on the price because it had been looked over top to bottom by his shop and staff and this is why it was non negotiable. There was water inside the headlights and the car was FILTHY. I highly doubt anyone did more than spray it down with a water hose.

Please get their used vehicle inspected by your own licensed mechanic before signing any paperwork with these snakes. They sold be a lemon after I got it checked out by I own mechanic the next day and they wanted to deny everything until I started showing proof. Be careful dealing with these bottom feeders.God bless

Our salesman, Alexander Caraway, did a great job of answering all our questions, giving us all the info on the vehicle, and processing our transaction in a timely manner. When we found an online ad that advertised the car at a slightly lower price, they made the adjustment with no problem, which saved us over $1000. Great, easy experience.

The dealership had a nice selection of cars and trucks. Our salesman was Greg Fowler. He was pleasant enough. Everything went smooth when we bought our car. We got home with the car and we only had one key. We searched everything and everywhere but were unable to find it. We called the dealership and asked if they had found a key anywhere on the premises. We were told no. My husband and I did not remember if we were handed the second key or not. Our salesman stated he gave it to us. We were told they would order another one and it would be at the dealership in a “few days”. My husband got a call from Greg this morning and was told it would be 30 days before the second key would arrive. Reason given was the “Shottenkirk key replacement policy would kick in. No accusations were ever made. I have never lost a key before. I believe the real reason is money. We paid cash and paid a lot of money for our car. We are disappointed with the key situation.The people in the finance department were wonderful. We love our car.

Set appointment for Monday morning at 9am to see a car that was confirmed on the lot Saturday. Informed the salesman that I was taking off work and driving an 80 mile round trip to see only this car. Arrived Monday only to find the car was not on the lot. I would think the salesman would have called to let me know the car sold. Instead manager tried to sell us a car 2 years older and 3 times the mileage. Would hesitate to do business again.

Josh c greatUpdate::Catrina is a great as well. Although the car I had called about to come look at was not at the dealership when I arrived. They stated the GM had taken the car out as a loner. I was thinking about buying another car from them but be aware this dealership charges around 4-5K in dealer fees where they state you get a 1 year warranty and this pays to get the cars ready to sell. The car that I originally was coming to look at did get back to the dealer a couple hours later but with the fees included it was just to much so I went with a different dealer. Overall the sales reps were great all the way around but the fees and “hidden charges” are a little excessive and they should include their dealer fees in the list price since it is non negotiable.

The sales experience was great it’s the service department I have an issue with. I took my Tacoma in for free service since I purchased it there. I never left, I sat in the waiting room for the hour the service techs had it. An employee of the service department decided he needed to go through my closed console and steal from me. As if that wasn’t enough of an issue, Mike, the service manager was not there at the time and also refused to return phone calls. I went back to the dealership and finally got to speak with him. He tells me that the cameras are down and he can’t look at what happened. He then tells me they aren’t responsible for personal items in a vehicle. If it were in plain site I would maybe see that but his employee went through my console. I would definitely not do business with Shottenkirk again. Watch your personal items.

COMPLETE bait and switch job! The used car prices advertised online are to lure you in only to find out that once you get to the finance room there are 2 to $3000 more of fees they try hit you with. Furthermore, they completely lied to me about the condition of the car. They tell you they do this full-point body inspection to ensure the car is pristine. When I picked the vehicle up it had a sensor light on. I was told that it was registering because they just put new batteries in the vehicle. This sensor would go off after I drove on the highway a few miles. This light never turned off. Needless to say when I took it to the local Jeep service dept. I was told that the batteries were not brand new and were failing their inspection test. Now Im stuck buying two new batteries due to their lies. There are so many more reputable dealerships. RUN FAR AND FAST!

One star is an over statement ! I spoke with this company about a used Chevy Colorado ONE Owner, great mileage blah blah blah. I explained that I was driving over a hundred miles to get this truck. NO ONE said it was a disaster ! Exhaust leak, A/C broken Screeching in reverse, idled like junk. I burned up a half tank of fuel put over 200 miles on my trade in and 4 hours of my life I will never get back. I hope they treat you better but really I am angry !

This is one of the most unethical business that I think I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They had a 2002 Jeep Wrangler listed on their website for 13,810.00. After making the trip there and wasting tons of time, they inform me that the vehicle was actually 17,160.00.... they said 13,810.00 was the base price but with all of the features the vehicle came to 17,160.00....features??? This isn’t a brand new car! You don’t add “features” to a used vehicle! This is one of the most shady things I’ve ever seen in 50 years. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

I went in with my son for a car. They do have a large selection of cars That brought us is. My 1st guy was great. We found a good car. My problem is 2nd guy/closer/$ guy made it seem that we had yo go with their financing. My credit score is 855. He put us in something ridiculous. We will pay off immediately to be done. And they never did the inspection so we have to go back for that. Great selections of cars but watch yourself later. If I paid their plan I would pay 28 on a 16grand loan- even though the car was listed at 20. I put 10 grand down. It just ended up bad. Nice car. Bad experience.

This is not a great time to be looking for a car with the lack of inventory, but Kelly and the team at Shottenkirk made it happen for us. The pricing was fair given the current shortage. We traveled an hour to see a car we wanted and it was there as promised. We were offered water and shacks 15 times...Thanks Kelly! It was hot!!They found financing for us and we were out the door. I guess if you want a friendly (ask for Kelly), fair priced dealership... you know where to go!

Bought a used vehicle from them on 8/10. Supposed to get an equity check back from my trade in. Was told by finance that it would happen after the funding of the new vehicle. I was fine with that. No issues there. Its not been 2 and half weeks, and funding has already happened. Ive called 5 times in 3 days and no one would answer the phone. Finally talked to a manager who said that the process is that the check wouldnt be cut until the deal was completely done, title in from previous loan and everything. If thats the case, why didnt you say that when I was sitting in the finance office? Couldve saved a lot of headache. Be upfront and honest. Return phone calls. DO NOT COME HERE they gouge and overprice. They do not care at all about the customer. Just profit.They charge 4,000 dollars in fees that are NOT including tax, title and licensing. One being a reconditioning fee and one being a warranty. They do not budge and try and tell you its a AMAZING deal when its really not. They overprice and then use those fees so they look like they are knocking something off and can still get the most money for the car. ALL FOR A USED CAR. We went to a dealer that specialized in the car we wanted and paid LESS for a 2 year NEWER version of that car with a higher trim model. And, we got amazing customer service. The response to Zack Potters review by the dealership is a complete lie. The internet price DOES NOT reflect the additional $4500 that was tacked on to the price once they sat us in a sales booth and began their high pressure tactics. We also could not find where they mention the add ons anywhere on their site (another lie).When we got up to leave (we were more than nice to the Sam, the young man helping us), his manager caught us at the door suggesting we drive another vehicle. Um, no thanks. Here is the kicker - as we were driving away this manager walked out into the middle of the drive to stop us and discuss it AGAIN. Basically accusing us of not knowing what we saw with our eyes on their website and Autotrader.We drove across the street and bought a brand new Truck from Jerrys. Go there. Much better experience. Shottenkirk wasted an hour of our life we cannot get back.Hey whoever responds to these reviews, go ahead and copy and paste that lie again about how its included and disclosed. Or maybe consider actually being ethical with your internet list prices and knock off the bait and switch.

Which we absolutely loved, because most dealers are like that.Update The Next Day…Not too sure if they even really check the Vehicles there… But one of our back tires was extremely low. Tire pressure is suppose to be at 33, but it was at 11! Also, the coolant was pretty much almost empty.

BUYER BEWARE. There is a reason this dealership is rated so poorly. Read and consider ALL reviews. These are not honest people. They post the smaller dealer add-on ($495 for tint) next to the sticker price, then tell you we dont mark our cars up, like the others do, only to sit you down when it comes time to run numbers, tacking on a mandatory $1,995 protection package that provides nothing material with the car itself. So, yeah, in the end, they DO effectively mark their cars up, but not until the end when youre not expecting it. Clever, huh? Its a classic Bait & Switch. Youve got 40 other Toyota stores within an hours drive. Do yourself a favor and visit any one of them, but unless you want your time wasted, Id avoid this one.

Alexander Caraway my salesman was the bomb! Handled my situation perfectly. It took two weekends to find the perfect vehicle but he did his job and found the perfect one. I was given an excellent trade value for my vehicle. The vehicle I purchased was everything I wanted. I ended up purchasing the extended warranty which I am unsure of. Most of the time warranties are a way to score extra money on their side and end up being useless for major repairs. I’m sure I will get to test that out in the long term but for now I give this company a 5/5. Yes they add money to the vehicle online price and that seems like a rip off but it’s a way to get you in the door. The price they add to the vehicle puts the prices in line with other dealerships. Kind of a bait but it is what it is.

I bought my first Tundra from this dealer in 2008 when they were called Durant Toyota. Excellent experience, very professional salesman that I counted as a friend at the end of the sale.Now it was time to buy an SUV for my fiancé. I showed up to look at a vehicle that I had called multiple times to ensure it’s availability and details. Upon entering the showroom they told us it in fact was out on loan to a customer that “they were taking good care of” because their car was in for repair.I am a business owner of 15 years, so I may be a little more tuned to detecting dishonest business dealings than some. My bologna monitor maxed out in almost every conversation I had over the four hour period. The manager was exceptionally rude and told me what I felt were blatant lies and I got a different story from almost every person I talked to.Their absolutely “required” Shottenkirk Customer Care charge of $1995, as well as the Recon fee of $1495 is their way of manipulating their advertised low price with the customer and raising the out-the-door price $$$’s. They claim that other dealers “hide” this fee inside their price, which is a straw man way of trying to insinuate honesty. My question is why they intentionally “hid” that amount from me at every request till I finally got there to the dealership, when their price online said nothing about it.I did buy a car that I found there. I talked their “firm” price down to an actual fair market value on a RAV4 they claimed they’d “forgotten about” in the back. 4 years old with only 5,900 miles. I’m satisfied with the car, but the severe lack of professionalism was so glaring I’ve told several people this week, “I’d never recommend you go there to look for a car. Go somewhere else where they’ll be transparent about the pricing.”I don’t ever plan on going back.

RUN!!! Do NOT come here for a car!!!We were looking for a car for our 18 year old daughter, and found a great looking car online. We called and set up an appointment to come test drive, and confirmed the vehicle was still on the lot and for sale. We told them we were driving in from an hour and a half away, and didn’t want to make the trip if it wasn’t there. They confirmed the vehicle was in fact still for sale and available, so we made the trip, and guess what…MYSTERIOUSLY, the vehicle we were interested in and was confirmed to be on the lot 3 hours prior, somehow got loaned out as a service loaner.BUT, it gets better…they do have a similar model in stock, but it’s $4000 more, and after dealer add ons…$10,000 over the model we were looking at!!! Classic BAIT AND SWITCH, don’t do business with these folks, SO SHADY!!!

The service advisor I dealt with today was Rachel and she was so lovely to work with! They replaced my recall part on my car in a timely manor and also washed my car for me! It’s the little things like a car wash that make the experience just that much better. Keep up the good work!

Elias was excellent during the buying experience. Friendly, knowledgable, and patient while I was weighing all options. I will say, the market adjustment applied to the price of the vehicle sucks, but, the dealership is a business and right now, the shortage of computer chips is really messing with companies ability to do business, so it is what it is.

I got Greg to help us on a thursday evening and he was awesome! We first went to go look at a specific 4runner that we saw online but once we got there he had asked us all of specifics and found us an even better one. He was very real with us and not gimmicky like other car salesmen, and stayed after hours to help us with our needs by like 2+ hours without feeling annoyed or bothered by us, we will most likely shop here again.

When I arrived to drop off the car, the service person tried to talk me out of getting the service because the car has low miles. When I picked up the car, it had not been washed and they did not stamp the book with the service record, even though I called beforehand to make sure they stamped the book.

BEWARE of extra $4000 they will add to the price of the vehicle before Taxes. Their $1495 mechanical test is to make sure the car is good and there is no issue. Youd think they would test that before selling it. I am sure they do test it and then pass on the cost of it (which is done in house) to the buyer, which is probably extra money for them. Plus an extra $2000 for coverage that doesnt cover any mechanical or engine. Which is MANDATORY. Another bs charge.Ask about these before buying there.

Had a great experience buying my used truck from Patrick Kemp. Everyone was nice and considering how busy they were and that the truck had to be brought over from the other location in Grandbury it went very smooth.The financing guy (I believe Justin but could be wrong on the name) was awesome as well.All said, I would buy from them again.If you had a bad experience at the same car brand in Dallas off 35E, come here. You wont be disappointed.
