We were on a quick fall foliage vacation in Maine when the dreaded Transmission System Issue warning flashed on our Honda Pilot. We stopped at one auto repair who could not help, but recommended Precision Transmission nearby. We showed up at 3pm on a weekday. Carmen greeted us with a smile and can do attitude. Within 10 minutes, they hooked up the computer and diagnosed the codes. Within an hour, David had fixed the issue, performed a test drive and taught us what to do to avoid it in the future. Very personable. It was a pleasure doing business!

I was traveling on Interstate and getting a flat tire. I exited and heading for a gas station. Saw Precision Transmission, pulled in. Asked someone to look at it. He immediately stopped doing what he was working on to assist me. They Replaced my valve stem and had me back on the road in less than 45 minutes. Really Kind staff and owners. Received the kind of service from Precision that is built on customer service. The kind of service that is really hard to find these days. If I lived there I would be a Regular customer. 5 stars all the way.

Ive had several opportunities to be served by these folks. From bad wheel bearings, to broken flex plate, to automatic transmission service. Work is always done with quality, care, and a positive attitude. Take your vehicles here. They are good people who do good work!

My daughters car broke down on her way home from Maine. It was towed to Precision Transmission. I had my 2001 Toyota Tundra towed to Precision Transmission & Auto Care after hearing/reading several highly favorable references regarding their exceptional workmanship and customer service. Dave called me almost as soon as the truck arrived at his shop and, after quickly/accurately diagnosing the issue, advised me of the necessary repaIr. Recognizing that the truck was 20 years old and having almost 200K miles on it, Dave provided the most affordable optionin getting my truck back on the road. 2 days later, my Tundra had a new (used) transmission, radiator, and transmission cooler and was ready for action ...all at a reasonable price! More importantly, they sent me an old school Thank You card in the mail! We were heading up to Rangely to ride snowmobiles and had transmission problems. Got stranded in Kennebunk. We called these guys and they went out of there way to diagnose the issue over the phone. We came up with a possible solution where we could fix the truck by our self at the service plaza. Again they went out of there way to find us the part as quick as possible. the parts ended up being hours away so we got a rental truck to complete the trip. Going to have the truck towed to them and have them fix it. We were surprised to find someone so willing to help us and yet potentially not profit from it at all! Good guys. I have confidence that they will fix my truck!

My car suddenly stopped moving on my way home from work with no warning at a stoplight. Called AAA and the tow driver recommended Precision Auto. When I arrived at the shop the owner and his wife were professional, kind, and helpful. This happened on a Thursday afternoon and they called Friday letting me know it was the transmission line that ruptured and that would need to be replaced. They werent sure if I needed a new transmission but I was told it was a possibility and they were already looking at what the cost would be and options I have. Turned out I didnt need a new transmission (whew) and I was able to get my car back the next day, Friday. Highly recommend as this one of the best experiences I have had getting my car serviced. Will definitely use in the future!

My father passed away on 10/3 in CT with me by his side. I drove home to ME on Monday 10/5 and on 10/6 experienced a weird shift taking off from stop. Figured if it happened again I would look into and sure enough it did happen again Wednesday evening. Now Im starting to get worried as I have my fathers wake back in CT on Friday 10/9 and wondering whats going on with my 4Runner and if its safe to drive. I called Precision Thursday morning 10/8 immediately after opening and explained my situation and that Im looking to head to CT early Friday morning  for my dads wake and asked if there was any way to at least check the level of ATF fluid since its the sealed system. Well in less than 2 hours they had me in the shop and diagnosed my 4Runner with leaking transmission coolant lines and strongly suggested I not drive it but did offer to fill it up if I couldnt leave it. I decided to leave it with them and Dave was already ordering parts while I was waiting for my ride and he was very personable as we chatted about cars. From there I went to Enterprise in Sanford and was not only lucky enough to get a rental, but they gave a discount just for using Precision. My 4Runner was ready on Monday morning 10/12 allowing me to save a whole day on my rental and Dave mentioned there was also a bad wheel bearing and offered to take care of that as well. I couldnt be happier with the level of service and professionalism at Precision and want to thank the guys for helping me during this tough time.

I was vacationing in Wells earlier this month. The day before I was supposed to leave my check engine light came on. I called a few other places who were unable to get me in, but Precision got me in right away. They were able to diagnose the problem and determine that I could safely drive home as scheduled. They were very courteous and professional. They also sent me a very nice thank you card which came in the mail today. Thank you David and Carmen!

I went to Precision Transmission because another mechanic said that I most likely had a transmission issue, after repairing my brakes and saying I didnt have any wheel bearing issues even though I heard an odd noise. David and Carmen were both friendly and asked all sorts of questions about what I was hearing. They assured me that they would get to the bottom of things and figure out what the noise was that two other mechanics could not hear.Instead of doing unnecessary repairs, or trying to earn extra cash by saying I needed a transmission flush or blinker fluid, David called me to assure me my transmission was absolutely fine, and that I really did need a right front wheel bearing. Precision Transmission has earned a customer for life. The price was reasonable, and the service was exceptional. I cannot recommend them enough!

I cannot say enough about Dave & his wife at Precision! My fiancé and I had a major issue with the transmission on my car during the start of our drive to Maine for vacation. Being from out of town, we were nervous about stopping somewhere we had not been before, but Dave was beyond helpful & professional. He and his wife went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of! They even gave our pup some treats & water while we waited. Dave diagnosed the issue with my car, made a couple of calls, and put me in contact with a nearby dealership as he found out my issue was covered under warranty. I highly recommend Precision Transmission and Auto Repair. These folks know how to treat their customers and get the job done! I am from NJ and had a problem with a transmission sensor and they were able to quickly diagnose and fix my car, keeping me in the loop the whole time. They noticed I had a nail in one of my tires and they fixed that too! This repair shop is awesome so if youve got a problem, take your care to them.

I broke down on the Highway this past week in NH. Twenty minutes from my destination in Maine. My truck was towed to Precision and I spoke with David. David went through hoops to make sure I had my truck back before my time was done in Maine. He was very professional and kind. He went above and beyond. When we got the call the the truck was done his wife Carmen came to the hotel to pick me and my three kids up to get our truck rather than find another way to them. Besides being a great place to take your vehicle, David and Carmen are definitely very kind and caring people! We wont forget their kindness ever! I’ve moved to MAINE full time and now have all my vehicles registered in Maine. Well it seems the inspection stations don’t work the same way here as they do in Massachusetts. Every shop I contacted offered to make an appointment at a future time or leave my car all day. For an inspection?? I made many calls being told the same thing, book an appointment or leave it all day. Most of the shops were rude, I get it for $12.50 it’s a loss for them.I spent my life in the automotive business so I get what’s going on. But there’s no reason to be rude or tie up a customers car all day. Then I called Precision transmission, David answered and said he had a bay open now and would get me right in. I was there in 20 minutes and they took my car right in. While waiting I spoke with David and got his story. Like I said I’m from the automotive business so I truly understand what these guys do. I’ll tell you Precision Transmission is the real thing. First class shop, modern equipment, knowledgeable technicians.When I need service I won’t hesitate to trust these guys. This will make my life in my new state of Maine much easier for sure.

No big deal, its from the condensation from my air conditioner and dripping. This review is long overdue.... The crew at PT rebuilt the transmission in my 2001 Silverado a couple of years ago. They completed the job as promised, on time and at a fair price. The staff was very friendly and kept me up to date during the whole process - and they guaranteed their work. 4 years later, my truck is still going strong thanks to Precision.

I took my 2012 jeep in to get new Transmission lines and transmission fan. This was my most expensive car repair at $1,415.00. A couple months later I notice a leak under my vehicle and start experiencing the same transmission problems. I took it to my regular family mechanic and was informed that my Transmission lines were leaking. After calling precision, and feeling like the mistake was my fault, I went back to the owner, and he was very short with me. It was an uncomfortable experience. I left feeling angry and disappointed. I decided to take my jeep to my Trusted mechanic and turns out the Transmission lines were not even tightened !!!!! I would not recommend them

They kept my boyfriends truck running and always did work quickly when he brought it in. My car recently had issues and he took my car in right away and even searched for a lower priced part for me as the part was expensive. They are really friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome place in my opinion. I had Frank Galos Chevrolet do a transmission flush to my 08 caddy CTS. Before I left the dealer, they said the mechanic took it for a ride and noticed it was skipping. Which to me sounds like theyre telling me I need a transmission. I went home because I didnt have the money for a transmission on the spot. I figured I would drive it until it died since I was planning on buying an aftermarket transmission instead of replacing the stock transmission. Thats when I called Precision Transmissions. I spoke to David. I explained what was happening and instead of trying to get me in his shop sell me a transmission or make any money off of me at all! He said honestly what it sounds like is you have low fluid and I would definitely check that out before I do anything with replacing. About a week after I brought my caddy to a Cadillac dealer to get an oil change and have them check my transmission fluid like Precision had suggested and they found that my transmission was at least 2 quarts low. Concerned with possible damage being done to the transmission from driving it for two or three weeks after the other dealer did the flush, I called Precision back got the same guy and asked him if there was anything that I should be concerned about driving around with a transmission thats at least two quarts low for the amount of time that I did. And again he gave me his honest answer saying fill it back up and see what happens it should be fine and explained why it should be. So!!! Any place in my opinion that has an opportunity to pay their bills off of a number of situations that they could have with my situation and doesnt take advantage is a place worth doing business with. If and when I need a transmission for any vehicle I ever own I will be sure to call this place first and you should too just to hear what they have to say because you may not need a transmission and they will save you your money instead of rob you of your money. Thank you Precision again for taking the time out of your day to answer all my questions. And saving my already empty wallet from taking another hit I cant afford!

I bring both my wifes car and my truck here for all repairs. Im not going to waste my time looking elsewhere again. Ive had a transmission rebuild for my truck here, and a few other repairs. Always a great experience. If you have questions or just want to learn they literally take you into the shop, lift your vechicle and show you whats good and whats bad. Family owned shop, honest people, great friendly environment.

Brought my car in for a new clutch and everything seemed to be okay. I wish I had done more research before because I paid 565 for a new clutch and almost 100 to machine my flywheel. I could have bought an exedy clutch set for much less and had a brand new flywheel like Subaru recommends. Then I paid over 800 for labor, which okay, seems like a bit high but I get it’s an involved job. The shop called to ask about replacing my axles and I said okay because I knew they needed to be replaced. Now instead of calling me and asking if I wanted to replace my clutch fork, the shop, on its own authority decided to weld my clutch fork! I was told after the car was put back together. At the time I didn’t know how essential this part was to the operation of the clutch. So about 6000 miles later the clutch fork cracked again and in the process caused my clutch to wear uneven. So what should have been a 50 dollar part has now turned into a thousand dollar job if I want it fixed. I just spent 2300 here and I don’t have another 1500 to spend so now I have to fix it myself. And of course I moved out of state so I can’t bring my car back to this shop to have them fix it. Ohh my power steering lines also started leaking after the clutch job and they charged me 300 more to fix what they probably broke.

I drive a WRX STI. I beat that car like it owes me money. If the car were a person, I would be arrested for either assault or attempted murder on a daily basis. I do things to this car that you probably couldnt do to your car and have it still work. Sometimes, I push a little too far and something on the car breaks. Ive never had to spend much time diverting my abuse to something else, because every time I break something these guys fix it quickly and correctly, at a fair price. The owner will be straight with you, even if youve succeeded in mangling your bucket of bolts beyond anything a reasonable person would do. Despite the greatest fantasies of every car owner, just because the car stopped making that funny noise doesnt mean it fixed itself. Cars still cant do that. But these guys can.

My wife called and spoke with David, the owner, regarding an issue we were having with an amber taillight flickering when the vehicle was not running. David said she could bring the vehicle in, leave it and they would check it out and give us a call. When my wife spoke with David later that afternoon, he said that they were unable to duplicate the problem. He also offered to keep the vehicle overnight to see if the problem would reoccur. I spoke with David the next morning who informed me that they had examined and tested the electrical and could not duplicate the problem(the problem has not reoccurred for us either). I picked up the vehicle and David said there was no charge since they could not find any problem. We just moved here from Florida and found that hard-to-find honest auto repair facility for all of our service needs and they are within four miles of our home. Thank you, David and crew.
