The waitress and host were nice and attentive, only 2 other people there... Because of the flies and nats.. I couldnt even finish my food there I had to go it was disgusting. Never again..
Had a roast beef triple decker that was beautifully rare. Weve been going for breakfast a few times and its very kid friendly.
My first time at this establishment and it was overall a good experience. The place is nice, the staff friendly, the menu was large, so lots of options. The food came out quickly and was good. I will definitely be going be back.
I was in a hurry, with an appointment on the way to the VA, had Burger King loaded in my GPS, but saw this place and decided to stop in. Food was OK, not good or bad, coffee was OK, not good or bad, place was pretty clean and tidy, not good or bad, area or parking lot was OK, not good or bad, Prices where OK not good or bad. Of I was hungry again and in a rush I would stop back in. But a Burger King burger sounds a lot better of a choice to me. But as diners go, its the usual.
Friendly staff and AMAZING french fries. The puffy insides and crunchy outsides. They serve breakfast all day and alcoholic drinks. The coleslaw is a nice sweet, milky and refreshing after a juicy burger.
This place is a must go for great food. HIGHLY recommend anything with fries! I might just go JUST to get a thing of fries 🤭. The Chargers Burger is so good. Service is perfect, food comes out hot, and the overall atmosphere is comforting. I’m glad to have this local diner nearby to pop in from time to time. Highly recommend!!!

This is one of the cleanest and coziest restaurant I have a ever been when I visited I Connecticut. The food is nice, and great and the crowd is classy and responsible. The customer service is super. There’s wheelchair accessible parking and also entrance for the differently abled. It also be easily noticed from a car in normal traffic.

Although I have only visited this place twice during the lunch hour, both times were very positive experiences. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced which includes a soup and your main dish. I recommend their french dip because it will fill you up without leaving a hole in your pocket. The waiting staff is also very friendly and attentive.

Ordered off of door dash and for 3 people it came $56.04 ordered 3 milkshakes 2 choc 1 strawberry well needless to say for $5 they are small like child size and it was like drinking chocolate milk and tasted like it too not a milk shakes and this is the first tome ordering from this place the steak and cheese egg rolls $10.95 on the app the cane 5 very dm and burnt no flavor idk what the meat was never again will i order from there chicken tenders 5 of those small not lg or medium and the fried were very mushu

Well the food is wonderful and would be great to enjoy if only you weren’t stared at the whole time while dining. To make matters even better the owner feels no remorse to give attitude or yell at his employees in front of costumers. I love when I sit down with friends and am rushed to go while in the middle of my meal. If you wanna feel uncomfortable while eating this is the place to eat.

I was traveling to Boston and stopped at this little diner in west haven for a quick bite. The service was better than the food, and the food was great, you do the math.

Ive been a patron since I was 19. Excellent service and the good is tasty, especially their soups. Only diner that makes a good ribeye steak. Highly recommend their deserts. I love the rice pudding and Boston creme cake.

My roommate & I ordered from this restaurant for a quick and easy dinner option. We regularly eat at this restaurant and order from them frequently through Uber Eats. The food is good, however not well enough to tolerate the kind of customer service that they offer to their loyal visitors. My roommate ordered the Grilled Cheese supreme sandwhich with NO BACON and NO TOMATO, which was clearly indicated in the Uber Eats order receipt. The order arrived, and would you guess what was on her sandwhich? She is not only VEGETARIAN but ALSO ALLERGIC TO TOMATOES. As she saw this, she called the restaurant to rightfully complain about this order. When speaking with a male (most likely the owner because I have had personal rude experiences from a male with the same voice), he was extremely disrespectful, had no remorse for nearly causing my roommate to have an allergic reaction. Not to mention as well that he hung up on my roommate while she was talking to him. The order was made incorrectly and there was nothing being done to help make the situation better, he was stubborn & ignorant. Hanging up on people while they are talking is not how you treat loyal university students who help give you the money to keep your mediocre business going.
Ordered Rib eye meal which included soup or salad and fries or baked potatoe. Rib eye was excellent as was the pasta vegetable soup, havent had the baked potato yet, highly recommend this diner .
The dessert is always on point and most of the food is great. Id stay more towards breakfast and lunch rather than dinner. The waitresses are always very pleasant and efficient. Oh and this place has liquor which makes it even better!

This is a good restaurant with a very nice staff. It is very friendly to University students which is a plus. The best part about it is that its open 24/7 so it is a go-to place when my friends and i are hungry at 3am.
Feel very comfortable, not rushed, the waitresses are friendly and r there if u need something. The manager comes around and ask if everything isOk? We were traveling and were looking for the fast food Duchess restaurant and found that this was not that. But we were hungry and had a little bit of time so we went in anyway. I am glad we did. The food was Excellent and reasonably priced. The wait staff was friendly and quick. The cannolis were amazing. So much better than the fast food that we had planned on. Its not easy to get to coming South on I 95 but its really easy to get back on 95 going South. Well worth the stop
They were very efficient and taking covid precautions by wearing masks and gloves and being very attentive to the table. Also the food was very good quality and fresh just like I remembered.

Ive lived in West Haven all my life and have enjoyed eating the very good food as long as I can remember. Not only is the food excellent but the dessert menu is extensive and if you love great desserts this is a good place to get it! I highly recommend this diner to anyone looking for really good food at a very reasonable price. The servers are nice but sometimes not as attentive as I think they should be. The premises are very nice and clean including the restrooms.

Nice Mom and Pop operation
WOW😚 variety and for me the Best Fried Chicken in New Haven area. Big desserts, enough to share, & perfect to take home after a big meal. Never had a complaint from any one in our groups from fish choices, yo breakfasts, to just a fruit cup & on to our Vegetarians selections all had one opinion, DELICIOUS and we have to come again!
First of all the food was kinda cold and there was this one waiter apparently his name was Joey and not to be rude but he kinda smelled also he almost fell into my table and I saw him take a bite out of my food when you go there make sure you do not have Joey as your waiter.
Food was tasty & came quick. Waitress was VERY respectful & checked on us often. I ordered a burger & cut it in half, i finished one half & noticed a hair on the other.. showed the waitress & then accidentally dropped the piece of hair.. she tried to help me look for it so she could show the night manager (im assuming) but we couldnt find it again. She went and spoke with him anyways & he refused to do anything about it.. i wouldve even taken a dessert as a replacement, I know it wasnt her fault, I just felt that if a waitress vouched that she saw a hair in the customers food something at least shouldve been done about it. I really do appreciate her trying to help despite managements refusal to make the customers experience a good one. I probably would go back, but definitely not if I see him as the manager on shift.

My son and I both found hair in our food. I fell in love with the Diner when we 1st moved to West Haven. My experience today wasnt very great.The appetizers were great, my husband and daughter enjoyed their food. My son ate 1 tender and I ate a couple of the scallops. We recieved a partial comp for full plates of uneaten food. I never had an issue here but after this I will no longer be returning.

Felt bad I showed up right after a kitchen shift so I looked like trash but they were very nice and I was actually surprised by the lower then expected price and the quantity of food... Usually when I go to a diner I expect greasy... This wasnt extreme like other places

We came here for a holiday brunch. I couldnt decide what meal I wanted so I got a Duchess Burger (mushrooms, onions, and cheddar) and a side of eggs. The burger was surprisingly good for a diner, but the eggs were mediocre. I also tried a couple fries and a bite of grilled cheese which were all fine. Overall pretty good, Ill just probably stick to some of the other breakfast options if I return.
Good size portions and great taste at an affordable price. Visited family in the area twice and ate lunch and then dinner. Both meals were good. Quick friendly staff too.

The weekend waiters, though much younger than the Mon to Fri ones seems like their minds are not interested in making a real effort to please the clients. Today at breakfast, I asked for a simple thing, strawberry or orange flavor jelly which I get every time I go there on week days. I no longer ask for it, its on the table before the breakfast. Todays waiter said, we dont carry those flavors. I normally get both.
